Food court view

Brand new to the dimond center food court, I didn't even see it for weeks (opened 6 weeks ago). Friendly staff, food service a bit slow for the food court but they make the food to order so it's good and fresh. Ordered combination pho to go and it took about 10 minutes (again, not bad, just slow for food court food). They gave a generous amount of pho that filled up a large bowl once I got home. Broth and noodles were good and I liked that they served the broth to go separate from the noodles and dressings giving me more to take home. I'd definitely come here again, just not on a lunch break- go when you have time to wait or call ahead. Can't wait to try the calamari (I have to try calamari everywhere haha).

I was a little worried as YELP led me to the mall food court & when I asked the cashier her favorite dish she said the chicken sandwich was the best. Well, I passed on her recommendation and opted for fresh spring rolls and shrimp pho. DELIGHTFUL is all I can say! Very flavorful and fresh tasting, coupled with GREAT people watching! Thank you mall rats for keeping me entertained while I sup my broth! I'll be back, but next time I may wear my PJs and designer sneakers!

Best place I've tried in town for pho so far which is surprising since it's in a mall. 11$ is a good deal for Anchorage. Plenty of meat and noodles, rich pho broth. Haven't tried anything else from there as of yet. Fast and friendly service!

Seafood Salad

I ordered to Seafood Salad. Not bad for a small restaurant, mild flavor and not to fishy. Friendly customer service.

Updated seating. Looks nice!

Solid four stars from this gal. The place was bright and clean, the service was prompt and friendly, and the food was good. I had the combination fried rice that was yummy. The portion size was perfect for me (not ludicrously large). My hubby had pho and thought it was really good. The herbs they put on the table were really fresh which was a plus! It's a good place for kids; they have high chairs and booster seats available. Cons: a tad bit overpriced, but if you are already in the mall, definitely go check them out!

Best Pho place in town. The broth is made perfectly and they are always happy to bring you an extra bowl if you want to share. Iced coffee and tea are always perfect, not too sweet or too strong. Service is quick even if it's busy. I tried the banh mi there for the first time and wasn't too impressed: the bread was stale. Only reason it's not five stars is the steak in the Pho is hit or miss. Sometimes is perfect and other times there's more fat and grisle them actual meat. I'm not exactly a chewy meat kind of carnivore. Only place we go to get Pho in town, definitely the best.

I was hesitant to go in here just because it was a mall restaurant. But some friends talked me and the wife into giving it a shot. Pleasantly surprised. The food was great! We had the Saigon Steak which was pretty good. Not to mention we drooled when we saw them carrying bowls of soup to other tables. Going to have to try that next!

I have always loved the Pho here, but the woman in the kitchen is insanely rude and apparently hates kids. I will not go back.

Food doesn't come out as quick as other pho places but definitely worth the wait. Will visit again during my next trip! Staff is very friendly and a lot of space inside as well. FOOD: Lao Pork Sausage (8/10) - Can't find this in many places. Amazing!!! Super juicy, slightly salty sausage that pairs perfectly with the sauce and rice. Would get again! Pho Beef Combo (8/10) - Huge portion sizes for the price (superbowl). Amazing!! Broth and noodles are perfect Pho Tendon (7/10) - Also can't get this in many other places, but comes with so much tendon if you like it! Lao Fresh Rolls (6/10) - Solid spring rolls but the chicken is a little bit dry. I would get it again with only the shrimp. Shrimp Eggroll (5/10) - A fried shrimp in wonton wrapper, would skip this.

This one also had imitation krab, which is fine but not my favorite. The side dish of garnishes was kind of weak, just bean sprouts, lime and jalepenos. I wish it had cilantro. They must have been out of basil that day too, because we didn't get any with the pho. I want to find a seafood pho with fish cake or house made seafood balls. I think I maybe set my expectations a bit high since moving from Hawaii, every pho place there is a peak experience. My husband tried the beef brisket massaman curry which he thought was very watery and very light in the spice department, which he didn't like much. However our child loved her small kid size chicken pho and we all loved the mango smoothie. It's one of the most flavorful smoothies with perfectly thick blended consistency that you can still suck up the straw. Ambiance is kind of old, dank, dark, and dated but also holds some oddly charming quality nonetheless. Service was straight-forward. Special s/o to the man who welcomed us in, immediately fetched a high chair for our child, and then also helped me with my giant diaper bag which he didn't have to do but was very appreciated. I bet he's a dad.

We got the Combination Fried Rice, and it was the best freaking fried rice I've ever had. Not only was it flavorful, but it was also generous on the portions - both in the overall quantity and in the amount meat that they had. They didn't skimp on the amount or the flavor here. The Banh Xeo, even though it was supposed to be the main attraction, became kind of the side course. That's not to say it wasn't tasty, it was also delicious. But I think the main star of the show is their fried rice. Additionally had some Thai Iced Tea. And again, one of the best Thai Iced Teas I've ever had. Strong but tasty. It definitely kept me wired and wide awake for my wilderness drives. Didn't expect to find such a random gem when traveling to the Last Frontier.

I like their menu because it has a good variety, and the food is pretty solid overall. The dine-in service has generally been good, and the restaurant itself looks clean, modern, and comfortable. That said, the takeout experience has almost always been on the slower side throughout the years, so that is one area I think they could improve. Still, Phonatik is one of the better pho restaurants in Anchorage. I really think they have a lot of potential, but they may need to step up their game a bit to become truly outstanding.

Our table had hoisin sauce, sriracha and a pot of chili oil. There was oil on the underside of the pot of chili oil though, which was a cleanliness issue. Our family got the all shrimp fresh rolls, a seafood pho, a mixed beef pho and a small kid size chicken pho. We also tried the hazy IPA beers on tap. Notes on the food: the rolls were okay. The peanut sauce was a touch too thick and lacked dimension in flavor. Ingredients inside the rolls were fresh but would've been improved with a little mint, basil, or other fresh herb. Seafood pho was decent, but I longed for a fish ball, fish cake, or other item besides the imitation krab. I picked out the squid because it was too chewy. Our server was cheerful and pleasant, and parking was super easy just outside the front door. Might be back if in the area but I think will continue my pho search elsewhere next time that pho craving hits.
