We were in Charlotte for a conference, and since the conference didn't have any real food in the evenings, we decided to go sample some of the local places instead. One of our cravings was to get some good Vietnamese food. I did a quick search and found a number of places, and we settled on Pho Quynh. It is a nice little place with a good number of tables close to the windows so that you can see out. We were seated and served some water while we perused the menu. Of course we had to go with our old stand-by of getting some summer rolls. We were not disappointed, and since we had indicated that we were going to share the dish, our waiter split the two rolls onto two different plates for us. Very nice service there! We then received our bowls of pho. I ordered the medium, which I am glad I did... I am sure I would not have been able to eat the large this time around, and frankly I combined some of mine with the leftovers of my mom's small for a nice lunch the following day. The pho itself was good, but a bit sweet. I really had to hammer mine with chili paste to get it to where I love it, because the sweetness of the broth was countering the chili. Me and my family planned on going to a pho place very close to this one but walking in we could tell it wasn't for us, so we took a chance on Pho Quynh , and they did not disappoint. Greeted promptly after entering with warm smiles. Food came out fresh and tasty and we did come in closer to closing time then I usually like to do . It wasn't the best pho I've ever had but I can assure you it did satisfy everyone at my table. The place looks very clean as well. I ordered the small pho and it was plenty enough for me. I did eat some fresh spring rolls (made to order) as well. I don't live in Charleston but if I was to go back I could see myself hitting this place up again solely on good food and great customer service. read more

Definitely the best Pho place in Charlotte and trust me, I've been to all the other locations. I think what's most important in a dish like Pho is the broth and Pho Quynh makes it exactly how I like it. Reminds me of my mom's homemade Pho. Review of take-out order on 2.20.19. Started with four spring rolls and peanut sauce: A+, better than Lang Van. Moved to Papaya Salad; excellent, finished entire serving. Asked Dau hu sa ot (tofu with chili sauce, and it was prepared excellently, as searing hot as requested; no additional hot sauce recquried and once again the container as fulled emptied. The one tiny disappointment was the the Com dac which was listed as "Com DG." There was a non-descript fried egg instead of egg cake. There was no fish ball. :) There was, though, plenty of meat -- roast pork, not gristly, but tender and tasty. There might have been a few sweeties included in the bag as I am used to with Pho An Hoa and Land Van. Phone service was perfect, easily understandable and entirely correct. Next time, I will try the Pho, although several items are understandably not available for take it. read more

Update: we have loved this restaurant for years. Sadly, we went a few weeks ago and tried something new. We didn't care for it at all, which honestly wasn't a problem for us - we don't mind trying something whatever the outcome. However, we asked if we could order something else and if he'd give us a break and only charge half for the item we didn't like. The man absolutely refused. He was adamant that he could not do that. So we paid the full price, left hungry and will never go back. That isn't the kind of service we expect as long time customers. We used to eat there at least weekly, and many times it was several times a week. We have been to many pho restaurants in charlotte, some outside of charlotte, and even in Hanoi...this is our favorite! We both love the yellow pancake, and it is made crispy here. :) I love the fresh spring rolls and my boyfriend always gets a quail. We love the pho here ! There is always a good amount of proteins in the bowls (no skimping!) and everything tastes fresh. The staff is super nice and we always spend some time chatting w whomever is working that day since we have come to know all of the staff. We eat here at least once a week. It's the go-to for eating out. I generally cook at home, but if we ate out more often, I'd bet we'd be here 3-4 times a week. You can't really go wrong with any of the menu items, but I recommend the seafood pho and my boyfriend likes the pho tai gao. read more

Best pho in all of Charlotte! Trust me, it doesn't get any better than this. They serve you huge portions with lots of meat and lots of flavor! The ingredients they use are so so fresh and my pho is always extremely flavorful and savory. My favorite is the chicken pho (ga) and it always has several big strips of chicken in it that just melt in your mouth. My husband doesn't like pho, but he loves the other food there, usually ordering the rice bowl with steak. The atmosphere is very chill, the service is incredible, the prices are incredibly reasonable and it's very clean. We never have to wait long for our food, even when it's busy. Of all restaurants we've tried pho at (which is a LOT) this is seriously the best. We drive 30+ minutes just to come here because it is the best. read more

Pho Quynh is an amazing Vietnamese restaurant! It has a variety of authentic Vietnamese dishes. I personally like the Com đac bit (Special Rice, or Combination Rice), which is a dish that has rice, grilled pork, eggs, egg rolls, cucumbers, pickled carrots, tomatoes, and lots more. You can also choose from different types of delicious noodle soups, like a regular bowl of Pho Gà (Chicken Noodle Soup) or Bún Riêu (Meat rice vermicelli soup). Their waiters were bilingual, so they could understand both Vietnamese and English easily. From my experience, they try and make sure you enjoy your food, and check on you to make sure everything is alright. I've been here on multiple occasions with my family, and we all can relax and enjoy some Vietnamese food together. read more

Bun Bo was mediocre and, unfortunately, I'm not sure if we can find a good bowl anywhere in Charlotte. Crispy spring rolls were over cooked and looked like they may have been double-fried to be hot when ordered. Vermicelli bowl was decent, but spring roll ingredient was not cut into sections as we've had at other spots. It was just served whole and laid on top. Dining service was limited to seating us, taking our order and taking our money. No one came to check on the table to see if we needed anything or wanted to order more food. Waitress disappeared and was seen eating dinner near the front counter. Rating is actually 1.5 because the food was "ok" until we found a long hair at the bottom of our papaya salad. Those items are what I usually order in a Vietnamese restaurant, so Will not return.
