My partner and I ordered the classic bahn mi and a grilled pork bahn mi- both had amazing flavor and were stuffed full with meat and garnished with pickled veg and cilantro. The bread was warm and crispy on the outside but warm on the inside. Both sandwiches were delicious and maybe the best bahn mi ive had in charlotte. We ordered the crispy quail for an appetizer since they were out of chicken wings when I went- the flavor of the quail is phenomenal truly. I might prefer the crispy quail at lang van a bit more but it's really not a huge difference. We also ordered the salty lemon juice- which is made with preserved lemons so there is a tangy funky flavor to it that is salty and a little briny and I LOVED it. It was such a unique type of lemonade and it paired so well with the fatty richness of the bahn mi. My partner wasn't a big fan though- so just know this might not be everyone's favorite drink. He stuck with the classic Thai tea- and we have tried probably dozens of thai teas from around the charlotte area and this one easily is maybe the best Thai tea. The color is a vibrant orange, it's creamy, the tea flavor is rich and not watered down in the slightest. Hands down recommend and I will be trying more items on their menu

When I crave a Banh Mi, this is my absolute go-to! They have such a good selection and all of their veggies are always so fresh. They also have a very wide menu of bubble tea. The place is not beautiful on the outside and doesn't have much seating, but it hasn't stopped me from visiting and dining in. The food comes up quick, so definitely an ideal grab and go place. Check it out if you're in the mood for a banh mi!

Delicious and fresh every time!!! I always finish with little crumbs left. Very tasty and satisfying.

Che drinks are amazing and fresh. The banh mis are subpar. The bread was stale, not much meat and veggies. Service was poor. The cashier did not know half the menu and got my order wrong. I would only come here for dessert.

Food is very underwhelming. Went there for Valentines dinner. My partner and I were severely disappointed. By the pictures I thought this would a lovely place to take my fiance to celebrate the holiday. The drinks were very watery and did not taste correct. We had to send the first round back and just gave up and drank whatever they supposedly gave us. Ok onto the important part. The food came out and wow let me tell you our rice was bland, mushy, and not cooked well. The fish turned out to be ok which is saying much and not nearly as good as even your standard chain restaurant. The chicken tasted normal but was very mushy. The vegetables didn't seem fresh and again very dry and soaked in sauce. We ate majority of it but looking at each other with blank stares. We had just finished working out few hours earlier with high expectations of this place The best part of the experience was the patio and the decor. The fire pit was nice and there were quite a few couples surrounding us celebrating the evening as well. My waitress forgot my fork and I waited about 15 minutes for her to bring one out while my date waited for me. She literally forgot me while the food was starting to turn cold. It was not overbooked and truly we both were flat out disappointed. We had 2 drinks, 1 appetizer, and two relatively normal fish/chicken course meal that cost us around $110 with tip. I've had much better meals for half the price and just as nice if not better experience Oh by the way the men's bathroom was poorly cleaned and not working. Yikes. Talk about a pure disaster. Will not becoming back to this one. I don't know how they score so highly on their reviews because at best this is a 2 star experience solely based on the decor and ambience the place brings to the table. Not recommended to anyone looking for good service or high quality food. This place is a very hard pass going forward

This review is strictly for their che/dessert selection: My go-to place for che! I always go for the che Thai. They do not skimp out on any of the fruits or jellies and their che is the perfect amount of sweetness. They also ask if you want your che with or without ice and if you say without ice, they STILL don't skimp out on their portions. I believe one portion is more than enough for one person and it's decently priced. Service is prompt and efficient! I'd recommend them for all of your che/dessert needs.

Fresh roll and grilled beef roll, to-go!

This place is a true unassuming gem for Vietnamese food and is home to my favorite spring rolls in the whole of Charlotte! Ordering is always quick and easy (you can call in or order online) and the rolls are ready to pick up within 10 minutes. They have a well-oiled machine in that establishment...you can see the kitchen crew making hundred of springs rolls in the back, and the rolls are hearty, filling, and affordable (with each roll at about $5). There are a couple of tables to dine in though, I've only gotten my food to go. I find that this area doesn't have much freshly made food, so Crispy Bahn Mi was definitely a welcomed find for me.

Pork Roll Sandwich

SO bomb! Period. Also honeydew slushee was 10/10. I ordered through the app with no issues.

Last year, I had a sandwich in Spain that I haven't been able to stop thinking about. I've tried several places around Charlotte looking for something similar, but nothing came close. I reached out to The Culture Shop to see if they'd be willing to recreate it, and not only did they say yes, they turned it into their weekly special using local honey, locally sourced peppers, and local bread. The result completely exceeded my expectations. It captured everything I loved about the original while adding its own Charlotte twist. It was honestly one of the best sandwiches I've had. Beyond the food, the team is incredibly kind, welcoming, and excited about what they do. The shop itself is worth browsing too, with a menu full of creative sandwiches and delicious options, plus a thoughtfully curated selection of pantry items and specialty foods. It's rare to find a business that's this passionate, creative, and willing to go the extra mile for a customer. I'll definitely be back, and I can't recommend The Culture Shop enough!

As a San Francisco Bay Area foodie who's been steadily eating my way through Charlotte, I had…read morebookmarked Lee's Sandwiches and was excited to finally give it a try--and overall, it did not disappoint. The concept is refreshingly simple: a straightforward menu of banh mi sandwiches, summer rolls, chips, and prepared foods ready to go. They also offer beer on tap, traditional Vietnamese iced coffee and tea, and fresh fruit smoothies. No frills--just solid, approachable Vietnamese fare. I ordered the #8 Chinese barbecue (char siu) banh mi and requested light pâté and extra vegetables. The sandwich was made to order and came out quickly. One of the owners kindly let me know that pâté typically isn't included on that particular sandwich and didn't charge me for it, which I appreciated. The sandwich itself was good, reasonably priced (around $8-9), and filling. I also ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee, which delivered exactly the caffeine kick I was looking for. It wasn't overly sweet, had beautifully crushed ice, and came with a proper lid--not the plastic film seal you sometimes see at boba shops. Combined, the sandwich and coffee came to about $15, which felt like a great value. The interior is charming and thoughtfully designed. There's a small tuk-tuk display with retail items, traditional Vietnamese decor like bamboo hats on the walls, and even a seating area with low stools that gives a nod to the street-side dining style you'd find in Vietnam. I also loved the creative touch of repurposed Café Du Monde coffee cans holding napkins and chopsticks--simple, clever, and memorable. One small note for authenticity seekers: as someone who grew up with traditional Vietnamese cuisine, I've been searching for the classic old-school imperial rolls made with rice paper that fries up bubbly, crispy, and slightly chewy. The owner confirmed what I've been noticing--that many restaurants in the Charlotte area adapt recipes to American tastes, so that particular style is harder to find here. It wasn't a dealbreaker, just an interesting cultural observation. For my personal taste, the char siu wasn't quite as rich or fatty as the Chinese barbecue versions I'm used to, and the pâté had a slightly bitter note. Next time, I'll likely try the lemongrass pork banh mi and skip the pâté altogether. Insider tip: This is a great spot for a quick, affordable lunch with authentic flavors and fast service. The iced coffee alone is worth the visit. Overall, a cute, well-run neighborhood shop with solid value, friendly service, and a menu that does a few things well. I'll definitely be back to continue exploring the offerings.

They had built and moved to a brand new shop. Iam so happy for them and wish the best for them. Their always quick and consistent with their food. Their banh mis are so delicous. It is usually quiet and not much seating inside to eat in.
