Fried tofu, vegetarian, bahn mi. Wonderful texture and flavors.

I have been a regular at the South Blvd location for almost 5 yrs as it's close to work. The Ballentyne location is near home and I wanted to see how they compare. I will jump to the conclusion, it is perfect. Great food. Amazing value. Really nice service. Fantastic location. My kids each had the chicken bahn mi and I had the fried tofu. Everything was perfect with great texture. I have had several bahn mi locally which are soggy or without much flavor. That is never a problem with Crispy! The Ballentyne location was just as good as the South Blvd. I am already planning to visit again next weekend.

Crispy Banh Mi is one of my favorites. I would much rather have lunch food for breakfast, so the fact that Crispy opens at 9am makes me happy. I would not recommend eating a banh mi in your car, you get crumbs everywhere from their delicious french bread, trust me, I have learned the hard way. I can't even drive by without stopping for a Thai iced tea. They have the best Thai tea in Charlotte. I ventured into their Vietnamese desserts, these sweet concoctions are delicious and a great treat for kids and adults to try. Their whole menu is reasonably priced, especially for the quality/price/portion ratio. The new Ballantyne location is super cute and a great place to stop for a quick bite. If you aren't familiar with the shopping center, Crispy is in the shops behind the Mellow Mushroom, so drive around what seems to be the back of the shops.

The food was good. Limited seating though. They have counter service. Located in Ballantyne.

Very yummy sandwich and nice little place. It is on the backside of the shopping strip near the end. Would definitely go again.

Flavorful, with both very savory and yet light ingredients which made it perfect for an entree. Not too dense but also filling enough for the wait until dinner. Then the salmon a la plancha. The salmon was cooked to perfection and not overdone, which is unfortunately often the case. The perfect portion along with the tomatoes and kale to keep it rich, but still somehow light. Ended the night with their signature (and recommended) le citron lemon dessert which was to die for. The waitress also brought me some madelines with an adorable little personalized message to complement my little mom's solo night out. 10 out of 10 and certainly can't wait to come again!

The fries were battered and very crispy. These are the best kind! Complimentary Puff Pastry (4/5): These had the flavor of the bread at Brazilian steakhouses but with a different texture. The pastry was crumbly and there was a chilled gruyere mousse inside. Nice way to start the meal. French Onion Soup (3/5): Thick soup with lots of flavor. A little too sweet and tangy for me. I liked how much cheese there was on top. Duck A L'Orange (3/5): The duck wasn't that great. The skin wasn't crispy and it was a little too gamey. There was also very little meat in general. The orange sauce was runnier than I expected and very subtle. Good amount of potatoes and green beans which were solid. La Ricane (4/5): Reminded me of a Snickers ice cream bar but instead of ice cream it was a fluffy nougat. Good, but hard to justify the price when the ice cream version from the store is better and much cheaper haha Complimentary Madeleine (3/5): Nice that they gave these out at the end of the meal! Soft and bready with a light lemon flavor. The cobblers came out piping hot and paired with the vanilla ice cream on the side, they were incredibly delicious and definitely something I'll be daydreaming about later. They were also playing great music over the speakers, which added to the atmosphere, and the service was fantastic. The employees offered great recommendations and were always attentive, anticipating what we needed. We would've included a photo of the food, but it disappeared faster than we expected . Do yourself a favor and bring your family here...you won't regret it.

Overall, the experience was very mixed. We tried the OG, cheesecake, Butterfinger, bourbon praline, blackberry, blackberry peach cobbler, sweet potato and pralines, and peach cobbler flavors. The cobblers being served warm was definitely nice, and I'd say the cobblers were probably the best part of what we tried. They were decent, although they tasted more like canned fruit fillings than homemade cobbler. The banana puddings and ice cream were average at best -- not terrible, but nowhere near the best we've had. The main reason I'm writing this review is because of the bourbon praline flavor. All four people in our group had the same reaction that something tasted very off. Comments included: * "It tastes like refrigerator." * "Is there soy sauce in this?" * "Yuck, this tastes like teriyaki." * "It tastes like the nuts are rotten" It genuinely tasted spoiled or contaminated with another flavor that may have been stored next to it in the fridge. When we politely asked if we could return or exchange it because it tasted so bad, the employee working basically shrugged and told us they didn't like that flavor either. Looking back, when we first arrived and asked for recommendations, they didn't offer much guidance. Bathroom was clean - water was only served in bottles, that cost $3. The chairs outside were very uncomfortable. Overall: warm cobblers were nice, some flavors were okay, but nothing stood out as exceptional -- and the bourbon praline was honestly one of the worst dessert flavors any of us have tried, we threw it away.
