Terrific food in a small space. You sometimes have to wait for a table but it's definitely worth it

I've been a regular here for quite some time. I figured I'd get some Pho before the storm hits here in a couple of days, so I drove all the way down from Ocala even with no gasoline available, and I was told at the door at 8:25pm, sorry kitchen is closed. I wanted to place a to-go order and I figured I'd leave a nice tip as I'm sure everyone could use a little help. The hours on google and on their door say 9:00pm. If the kitchen closes at 8:30pm, then so does the business, don't say 9:00pm A waste of time and what gasoline is left. What a disgrace. A moment like this is enough for me to kiss this place goodbye. I'll take my business elsewhere read more

My sis and I have been to Pho Sai Gon a few times and the food is always excellent, and the quality and taste and freshness is just as good as the first time. The service is very good and provided us with other requests very quickly. Very pleasant and friendly. We always get the crab Rangoon appetizer - they are yummy ,a must try! So many choices on the menu. Whenever we get to that area that is our go to place! read more

We love this place. This is an excellent spot for Vietnamese food . The appetizers were delicious and fresh. The entrees were great as always. The staff is always on top of your order and service needs we recently were here with a larger group and the service was top notch. The atmosphere was very nice for our larger group to chat and enjoy drinks and dinner. Would definitely recommend this place for other to enjoy. read more

We found this place by driving by and had to give it a try after reading great reviews on Google. We started with 2 kinds of rolls, the charred pork and traditional shrimp. We really enjoyed the pork and would order it again. My husband got the beef pho which had a great rich flavor, served with fresh herbs. It came with cilantro in the broth to start so if that isn't your thing be prepared to ask for it in the side. (I love cilantro but my husband has that crazy gene that makes it taste like chewing metal). He overcame it and loved his dish, and so did I. The broth was slightly sweeter than our usual places but it was still excellent. I ordered spicy lemongrass chicken with peppers and substituted rice for noodles. It was pretty good, but the small fibers of lemongrass (I think that's what it was) got caught in my throat a few times. The noodles and flavor was good, but I would probably try something else next time. Good service. Clean restaurant with hand sanitizer at the register. Great to know they are taking this outbreak seriously. Looking forward to trying more things on our next visit. read more

I ordered the Vietnamese egg rolls and spring rolls. Both were rather disappointing with the spring rolls poorly wrapped and little filling and the egg rolls were NOT viet- they were just regular egg rolls and tasted like mushy sweet potato. They were not served with traditional nuc cham sauce. Too bad as we have no good Vietnamese options nearby. read more

I was so excited to find a Vietnamese restaurant near The Villages but sadly, it is NOTHING like my favorite Vietnamese restaurant back home in CT. The pork was extremely fatty, greasy and flavorless. As you can see from the photos, I hardly ate any and the pieces I tried to chew I spit into my napkin. It was THAT bad! Normally I would take home my leftovers but not this time. The waiter was friendly but never bothered to ask how my meal was nor if I wanted my food wrapped to go even though I left most of it. We noticed this place each time we turned at the light and each time we commented that we miss PHO and need to stop in. We stopped in. Atmosphere: People enjoying conversations with each other. We were greeted immediately. Constant busyness. All good signs that locals continue to visit. Friendliness Indeed they were friendly and prompt. Quality/flavor: I ordered what I hoped was close to what I would order at PHO 79. It wasn't exactly the same but close enough. I ordered the noodles with charred proteins and it didn't disappoint. Spouse ordered a mandarin chicken and she enjoyed that. We also ordered the spring rolls and egg rolls. Usually egg rolls would be a quantity of 3-4 depending on the restaurant. We received 2. Im just greedy and wished there was another for me to gobble down. The spring roll was fresh and tasted great. The egg rolls were of great flavor. If these were manufactured egg rolls I would be very surprised. The flavor and look appeared to be homemade. Again, if manufactured, it fooled me. All great flavors. Cost: More than reasonable. Variety of options: The menu was not too large that one would worry about getting something of quality, but large enough for variety. Overall, we will definitely be back to try more plates here. The staff was friendly and made sure we had what we needed. The food was expedited well. Our appetizers arrived quickly and our food was ready once appetizers were finished. Pho Sai Gon is one of the few authentic Asian restaurants in the Villages. Most of the restaurants here are big box chains. I enjoyed Pork Chop dinner, fried tofu appetizer and egg rolls. It was pricier than I'm used to for these Vietnamese entrées, but tasty and good portions. The front of the house staff were not Asian, which seemed unusual, but they were friendly and competent. The restaurant is small and casual. A little loud with the carry out counter and wait station at the center of the dining room. I would order food here again, but for carry out. read more

It is a shame as this restaurant is very good in area. However we (5) arrived at 8:20 pm and they close at 9. The manager, I believe, sat us. Then server,not Vietnamese, delivered menus and said, you have 10 minutes to order. We jokingly replied, "oh, you close at 8:30 pm?" She replied, "Well it is rude to come in before closing. We all have families and want to go home." The conversation digressed from there. I have owned a restaurant and if you are open until 9 you are open - it is tough to be in business and your customers are # 1 priority. If you want to publish last seating at 8:30 then do it but if you only publish close at 9 then you are open until 9. You need to accept customers coming in up until close. Like I said we came in at 8:20 so very unprofessional for a server to verbalize and engage in banter about being rude. read more

This review is for take-away so I can't comment on table service just yet. It's great to see a family business thriving, both owning the parking lot and the whole building. Always happy to support! I wanted to share the wonders of pho with my mom, so I ordered the sliced beef, #2? Also wanted to share the fresh spring rolls to try and eat a bit light. The counter service was prompt and friendly and I enjoyed a Tsing Tao while I waited. Order was quick, around 10 minutes and just about $30 with tip and tax. (Yes! You absolutely tip on take-out.) The food traveled pretty well, the broth was super hot when I got home and the spring rolls decently cold. The peanut sauce was yummy. I can't give a 5 because of the Styrofoam packaging. The spring rolls took up barely 1/3 of the box so I filled up my garbage to just take rolls down the street. I have seen more responsible packaging else where, even the traditional Chinese food paper boxes decompose at some point. Otherwise, I was pretty happy. The soup tasted even better as a leftover. Mom was a little bit overwhelmed with all of the "new" flavor profiles, but was open to going back to try more. read more

Food is amazing, but SO frustrating to receive two packs of soy sauce when I specifically asked for extra. Six of us ordered from work and there were six packs of soy sauce in our bag. It may seem like a small issue, but completely changes how much we enjoyed our meals. read more

One of the best restaurants near the villages. Pho broth seems to vary depending on day though. Service is usually fast but on some days they forget part of your order even though it's half full of patrons. Spring rolls are very good. If you like spicy soups try the Bun Bo hue but ask to substitute the pigs foot for beef. It comes with a thicker spaghetti type noodle though but is appropriate for this heavier soup. read more

X2 and crab Rangoon The crab Rangoon was ice cold in the middle & the broth was so bland, I didn't eat it - worst experience, there is no way, that broth has been simmered all day with bones It tasted like dirty water - they insisted I pay for this hot bowl of crap I didn't eat - now off to fresh market to find something to eat After making a 30 donation to this bad pho place I could buy a 88 cent ramen & had a better meal Head on over to 441 for the real pho that has simmered all day read more

We love Pho, so we know how it should be. I would have given them 4 stars or more, but my pho, vegan and vegetarian was INCREDIBLY salty. I should have stopped after the first couple of bites and told them that it was not good, but I was hungry and kept eating. My wife tried it and said WOW! I even felt bad afterwards from all the salt, but then later was fine. They told us they were working with a new cook. So it is possible that the cook simply goofed. I did tell the waitress, who was great, but too late as I ate most of it until the salt got to me. It was my fault for not rejecting it at the beginning and asking for something else, but I didn't. If they want to keep us and others coming there or have busy at future stores, they need to really watch new cooks and check with customers during this process. Otherwise, they will not have repeat business. If the owners wish to contact me and have another chance at impressing us, they are welcome to do so. As a vegetarian, there is only 1 pho that I can eat there. I or we, might not ever come back if this is the best they can do. By the way, the staff were great, so they did their jobs well. Food in the Villages can sometimes be really cookie cutter copy-paste. When the pho place turned up, I was really surprised. I'm used to seeing more exciting places to eat in south Florida. I realize the people up here aren't as adventurous maybe? I've also noticed that you will RARELY see 4 or more star ratings. Not sure if it's because some of the places are that bad, or because the people here are cranky and nasty sometimes. Maybe it's a little of both. In any case, this was literally the first time I tried Vietnamese and I'm super pleasantly surprised. I had the bun noodles with charbroiled beef. The noodles were perfect. The steak was charred nicely. The vegetables were fresh. And the sauce they serve it with OMG. Absolute balance of spicy and sweet. I will be having this again, though i am always open to exploring their menu more. My mom in law had the pan fried noodles with beef. The beef came in more like a broth with veggies, separate from the noodles. The noodles are soft but you can ask them to make them crispy too. We did take out, and picked up our order. But you can tell the place is really clean. I had enough time to look around while I waited. I didn't even see dust on the stuff hanging from the walls or ceiling. The food was still warm when I got home tho the wait was a little longer than expected. I don't mind. The service was nice too. All in all, I am super pleased we found this place and it will definitely be a go-to when we are here. read more

After a year later coming back, the food is still excellent! If you don't have time to wait, go to McDonalds. I ordered the Pho Dac Biet. It is the combination Pho with rare steak, tripe, brisket, and meatballs. The most important aspect of Pho is the broth and noodles. The broth was flavorful and not overpowered by MSG. The noodle was made fresh when ordered. Unlike some places.. the noodles are sometimes made early in the day and left sitting until someone orders. Their noodle is made fresh to order. Broth was good! Pho came out steaming home. This place is as close as Vietnam as you will get being out here in the Village. Love it!! read more

This place knows what they are doing when it comes to making the broth, which is the basis of a good Pho. The place is bright and very clean inside. The artwork on the walls is very good. Service was also good. We got the A2 spring rolls for a starter. They were really well put together, and the peanut sauce was on point. We had the #4&5 Pho dishes. They were really loaded with meat! We were looking for something different for lunch, and discovered this gem. The seating was comfortable and the restaurant was spotless as was the ladies room. I had not had pho before and thanks to suggestions from my companion and the server, we chose 3 dishes. The fresh shrimp spring rolls were amazing! Incredibly fresh, and the homemade dipping sauce was perfect. As we waited for our entree, a couple next to us gave enthusiastic compliments and asked to see the chef. When he came out, the lady took his hand and told him that she thought she would never have her ethnic food again like her mother had made. When your in a vietnamese restaurant and an older person who grew up in Vietnam was floored with the dishes, I'd say that's a pretty great testimonial. The chicken fried Rice was hot, loaded with chicken, and the serving size was large. My friend had pho with shrimp in beef broth. Again piping hot, large serving and he commented it was one of the best he has had. This is definitely a new place that will become a favorite! read more
