10/21/25 My husband and I ordered takeout from Pho Saigon and it was absolutely delicious. We got the fresh spring rolls, the spicy beef stew with egg noodles pho, the special combination W1 sandwich, and the grilled pork sandwich. Every single thing we ordered was finger-licking good. The sandwiches were so good with the pho, great flavor combination. The pho was packed with flavor and the beef stew had just the right amount of spice. It's the perfect comfort food for a chilly day or when you're feeling under the weather. The soup wasn't too warm by the time we got home, but we simply heated it up on the stove and it was amazing. The sandwiches were fresh, flavorful, and so satisfying. The staff was very friendly upon pickup and had everything packed up perfectly so nothing spilled. The takeout box was organized and easy to carry. We enjoyed every bite for dinner and will most definitely be returning. Next time we're planning to dine in and enjoy it even more fresh. The service was a 10/10! The waiters were super kind and made you feel very welcomed! The food was made very fast as well. However, the pho was heavy on msg, and was relatively salty. The portions are a little smaller than most pho places. The restaurant was nice and neat on the inside. Just a quick update since my last review, we have continued to come here regularly. (Almost 3 years since our first visit) I've never had a poor experience. The food is always delicious and fresh and usually pretty quick. The service is always great. This is definitely our favorite spot in Lexington. No matter what the occasion is we're gonna head over to Pho Saigon. We like the vegetable pho, the round eye steak pho, the roasted pork pho. It had soft tendon, which was a gelatinous type of matter that did not agree with my palette. The rest was delicious though! On the way to meet some friends, Fat Man Reviews stopped into Pho Saigon in Lexington, KY. Pho Saigon offers Vietnamese food, specifically Pho pronounced "Fu", a traditional beef broth served with sliced meats and/or vegetables. We started with the Saigon Tray, this came with (2) egg rolls, springs rolls, dumplings and Crab Rangoon. The egg rolls were fried well, the pork was tender and flavorful. The spring rolls are served cold, the pork, rice noodles and shrimp were cooked well, but lacked flavor. The peanut sauce was very thick and very sweet. The dumplings were cooked perfect to a golden brown. The pork filling was tender and flavorful, but a sauce would have elevated it. The Rangoon was a little overcooked with not much filling. The filling was creamy and not as sweet as Chinese. I ordered the Hot Pot Chicken. This came with carrots, onions, zucchini, broccoli and crispy rice. The veggies were all cooked really well, crunchy but tender. However, the dish was overwhelmed by the amount of broccoli. The chicken was overcooked, it was dry with no flavor. The rice underneath was normal rice consistency and not crispy at all. There was a sweet sauce mixed into the dish. This was basically the only flavor, it needed seasoning and heat to balance out the sweetness. My fiancé ordered Stir Fried Noodles with Chicken, the noodles were ordered soft. The veggies were cooked very well. The noodles were soft with a bit of texture. The chicken was cooked well but a little dry. Again there was a sweet sauce mixed into the dish. This dish lacked seasoning and could have used some heat in the sauce as well. There was a clear Broth served with the dish as well. It was served barely warm, it was sweet, but the ginger was very, very overpowering to the dish. Pho Saigon serves several other dishes including fried rice, curries, soups and sandwiches. The server was nice, but the appetizer and the meals all arrived at the same time, this does not allow for the enjoyment of each dish and takes away from the experience. We were told this is the most authentic Vietnamese food in Lexington. Our Vietnamese family was highly disappointed. We left completely unsatisfied. We ordered: - bun thit nuong cha gio: flavor of nuoc cham was extremely dull, almost flavorless. The noodles were al dente (slightly hard, crunchy, not fully cooked yet) - bun bo hue: did not have hock, cha, huyet. Flavor was extremely bland. - che ba mau: was decent, there was a slightly weird tap water taste. But, it works in a crunch! - sinh to bo: we were extremely avocado smoothie, the way we ate it growing up in California. We got powdered avocado smoothie? Similar to bubble tea powder? It's just not the same - banh xeo: this was the best dish of the night. Their banh xeo is very thin and crispy. I wish they used pork belly instead of char siu pork. But, overall decent. I wish the nuoc cham had more flavor though, banh xeo is just not complete otherwise! The service is phenomenal! I mean, seriously, I loved the gentleman serving us. What a wonderful person. It's always a delight coming to Pho Saigon. We're blessed in Lexington to have a few Vietnamese restaurants and I can unequivocally say this one is the best of a fantastic bunch. I came in today with my sister, we ordered some spring rolls. She order a Pho dish with several types of beef and a Boba. I order a chicken Banh Mi. Before I get to the food, I want to commend the service here. The staff is wonderful, doing their best to make you feel welcome and always helpful if you have questions about the menu. My waiter today, was a delight, I wish I got his name. He was attentive and gave us a great experience. Now, the food. I adore the flavors of Vietnamese food. The Pho is both light and bursting with flavor. Like having soup when you're sick it just warms you up on the inside. The noodles were cooked to perfection, a bit bouncy and a slightest chew. I recommend adding chili oil always. Our rolls were all fresh, flavorful and fantastic. Finally my Banh Mi, I loved it bursting with flavor, savory and sweet. The chicken was perfectly cooked inside and the sauces compliments all the garnish (consisting of carrots, radish, cilantro and jalapeño). Yesterday my experience was horrible at this restaurant. My Dad and I came to eat, there wasn't anyone to seat us so I walked to the back where a woman was preparing orders. I asked can we sit anywhere and she asked us to wait. We waited about 5 mins before she sat us. Another wait was to order, took 20 mins to get appetizers out. Another 10mins for main course. I'm African American and I watch the sever catering to other customers even bringing out bags and bagging their leftovers up for them. When I asked for takeaway containers he brought me the container for one item and left. I had to wait until he came back to ask for the other container. Can you believe after all that he never offered us a plastic bag!!! The Thai Iced Tea is a must (albeit $5 a glass)! It's been ages since I've had one this good. The other food we ordered was also good. When we first got there we were the only people there and the smell was quite off putting, so we were a bit worried, but it filled up soon after. Well, for some place that was one of my favorite restaurants to go to I just had a most disappointing experience. The spicy beef pho soup had no flavor at all it was like a bowl of hot colored water with meat floating in it. My friend had the Pinapple fried rice couldn't tell he was eating anything to do with Pinapple also the meal was flavorless. I will say the best part of the meal was the eggrolls. We went to Pho Saigon when we found our usual pho place was closed. It's good, but the flavor profile seems to lean a bit heavier on the clove than we tend to prefer. Not bad at all though, by any means. Service was great and the setting was nice. read more
