Sure Special
Austin H.

This was our first time at the new location and the place was packed! It was pretty nice inside but it definitely felt a little crowded compared to the old spot. I usually get their rice based plates which are usually solid but opted for the pho this time. I ordered the Sure Special and it wasn't bad. Nothing outstanding but pretty solid flavor overall. I think I prefer the rice based plates but the pho isn't bad if you're craving it.

No complaints here! A short wait, about 15 minutes, around 7pm for a table for 4 on a Saturday. Kitchen closed at 8pm. Server was very friendly, knowledgeable, & attentive. Food came out quickly. Casual atmosphere with standard 4-person table setup. Stay tuned for their move just across the border to Worcester, anticipated December 2024. Really appreciate that the staff told me that the drinks are slightly less expensive when you dine in. We were going to get a drink while we waited but figured we might as well wait. If you're ordering a dish that comes with a fried egg, the egg is usually well done so make sure you tell them you want a runny yolk if that's your preference. It's great to have this option west of Boston!

We've been here a couple times now for our pho fix, and I'm sad they'll be moving to Worcester which is a little further from us, so we may have to find another place. The pho here tastes authentic, but the rice noodles are on the soggier side, and they could be more generous with the shrimp in the summer rolls. Some of our group also said there wasn't enough meat in their broth, but I found it to be the contrary for mine, so maybe the portions were not even. That being said, I enjoy it here every time. Last time we brought our families as well, and they accommodated our party of 8 very well, and even made sure to have broth without cilantro for two of our group. They even asked our older Asian family members if they wanted hot/warm water instead of cold. We also had bubble tea once and it was also great!

First time visiting @phosureshrewsbury last weekend. It was a rainy cold Saturday, and what better than some Pho to warm you up. This location on Shrewsbury St in Worcester is the location they recently moved into. We arrived around dinner time, and the place was packed with many waiting to be seated. They seemed organized and checking everyone in as they walked through the door. We waited maybe 20 minutes at most, not bad considering. We started with the spring rolls, and I had a mojito, which was a whopping $8.50! I had the Beef Meatball Pho Bo Vien and added brisket. He had the chicken com chien, which was spicy and added sweetness with the pineapple. Everything was super fresh, and the service was impeccable.

~Closed on Tuesdays!~ Pho Sure is my favorite place, I live a 40-45 minutes away and it is SO worth the drive everytime. Food is amazing, service is great! And the ambiance is very welcoming. And everything is made to order. They are very accommodating whether you're a vegan, a vegetarian, need gluten free foods or have an allergy or dietary restrictions. Also the staff is so nice! Highly recommend visiting! 5 stars everytime! And to the owner(s)/creator(s), Thank you for creating this amazing business! Employees, keep doing what you do!

Food is always 10 out of 10 my soup is always right. Perfect place for the colder months that are coming. All the drink combinations are endless. I don't think I have yet to have the same drink twice. The newer location is much larger inside than the old place. Service is always impeccable and fast.

Usually hate pho takeout but this was well executed. Thumbs up.

Dropping a Pho star for their exceptional service. See what I did there? Our server was very well trained and super polite. Our recent visit was during busy dinner times and the staff was firing on all cylinders. If you have a large party--everyone in your party must be there. Fair enough. The food did take awhile to come out--but it did allow our party to chat a bit. Food arrived hot which we cannot complain. My only complaint is the portion of the meats seem to have been reduced but yea, completely understand the inflated cost of food--which truly sucks, My last visit I decided to have a pho dac biet and substituted my noodles with veggies. Very odd at first but I wanted a healthier alternative. I wouldn't mind ordering that again next time. It wasn't bad. Either way, no major complaints. Cheers

We ordered hot tea, but the teak cam in water drinking glasses which were really hot to pick up (not so good!) While sitting there, we noticed this woman with black hair with bare feet as she had taken off her shoes in the restaurant. Not so appetizing!! Our soup finally arrived at the table and the smell was that of fish. Yuk. It was supposed to be chicken but chicken doesn't smell like FISH. I took a little taste and sure enough it tasted like FISH. We asked the waiter "is this supposed to taste like fish?" and he said " there is no fish in it". We advised that the soup tasted like fish and was not good. After that, we decided not to stay but also not to pay for the FISH soup that was supposed to be chicken and just pay for our drinks. We then paid for the drinks and left the place. Beware. if you go there, don't order ANY of their soups, it is really disgusting and could make you sick. If this is a new owner, maybe you need to take a cooking class??? And then maybe tell people to keep their shoes on in your restaurant!

Seafood Phoever was very good. It didn't have the hand made fish balls that Hien Vuong is known for but beggars can't be choosers. This is my new spot and I will be coming here often. You order and they deliver the food to you. Each table has a pull out drawer for napkins and utensils (it's quiet genius). Place is clean and has only been open just over a year. I hope they stay in business for a long time.

Was in the area and saw the sign driving by (on route to NY but needed to make a pit stop to Rize+ and saw Lees was open! Service was quick and easy, staff were nice overall! Appreciate that! The kiosk had a hiccup when ordering so we couldn't complete our order so we ordered up front at the counter. We ordered the dac biet and the bbq pork. We did add extra pate for both and extra butter for one. Neither had extra pate, and no extra butter. The fillings for the west coast ones fill out the baguette but it was pretty light here. Flavor of the pork was good, meat was tender. I'd come back to try again when they rolling and work out any of the kinks. Great staff and clean space!

Luckily, I caught the sign last second at the light hahaha. Ive heard only good things about Lee's though I've never had the chance to try it any time I've visited any of the states so I'm glad I was able to try it now! They have many locations, mostly on the West Coast (CA, NV, etc) and Texas! The first East Coast location is in Virginia & now we have one in MA, how lucky we are! They were not busy when we went & there's lots of parking here. You have the option of ordering at the counter or on their self ordering kiosk by the entrance. We tried ordering off the kiosk first, however, after finishing add items to cart & trying to pay, the kiosk got stuck lol so we ended up just ordering at the counter w/ a staff member. Took less than 5 minutes for our order to be ready. We ordered two banh mis, #11 SW Special Combo & #5 Sw Grilled Pork. ~$10/each, so kind of pricey. The rolls they use aren't small, I'd say a solid size but definitely more skimpy than what we're used to. We ordered for extra pate for both but one of them had none lol. So, I can understand the frustrating of other reviews that mention the same issue... paying for an add-on but not getting it at all. Overall, I'd be willing to come back again to give them another try but for now, will have to still to 3/5 stars.

The first dish that came out was a FAIL, but not for the reason you may expect. There was a big FLY on the dish. This grossed me out and we had to tell the waitress immediately. I know accidents do happen, but how does the cook and waitress miss a big fly before bringing it to our table. The waitress was apologetic and brought the dish back to the kitchen (they probably just refried it and remove the fly). The spring rolls came back out for take 2. I wasn't really a fan. It was crispy, which was good, but tasted like ham...and there wasn't any ham in there to my knowledge. My main course was the Bún bò Huế. The broth was tasty. It was bold and flavorful. The meat was unfortunately not tender and a bit chewy. I absolutely love Vietnamese food and eat it regularly, but unfortunately this spot did NOT HIT THE SPOT. I do have to say that the decorations of the restaurant are earthy, well positioned and the best thing I could say about this place. I would give it a 3, but insects of any sort on my dish will knock down by review by at least 1. -ODL Connect with me! IG & YouTube: @AOEAT
