In short There's nothing neighborhood-y about this intersection, but PTL is a solid neighborhood joint doing everything just right, if not anything completely amazing that I discovered. In long The confluence of Casino, Evergreen, and the Boeing Freeway must see tens of thousands of vehicles a day, at least, just counting the ones traveling by ground. It's busy here, and maybe not the most highly-regarded motorway in southern Snohomish County. But this is a big, bustling strip mall with what seems like a dozen good places to eat, alongside some high-interest loan places and other less-inspiring tenants. But there's tons of parking and PTL is more than worth at least one visit. Inside there are a couple dozen tables, with big stencils of colored spaces and different-color names of dishes in Vietnamese on the side wall. They have a couple good-sized flatscreens up. One of them has big club-size speakers mounted on either side of it. Curious what motivates them to turn on the one with the bumpin' sound. I'm also curious why this is now the second place in a month that chose to switch to Faux News within minutes of my arrival. ESPN was fine! Do I really look like a red-stater? Cracking me up with this. I might need to check my wardrobe if it happens again...3 times is a pattern, and I haven't even been going out all that much. Anyway, the service is lovely, right on point with quick, clear answers and rapid table visits. Kitchen turnaround is fast too! Jasmine tea arrived in the Dreaded Silver Pot, but I still happily drank half of it. Pho shows up with jalapenos, basil, lime, and sprouts. No cilantro, no big deal. Sriracha on the table but no sambal or other pasts. The basil was fresh and fragrant, everything else was crisp, juicy, and so on. The broth is kinda dark, with clear dots of marrow/fat floating here and there. Pretty rich, not too crazy with big seasonings but the flavor's solid for sure. Noodles could have been a little chewier but not bad. The meat was all seemingly never-frozen, no wrinkles showing. The large was like $13 and a heck of a bargain at that--good size. This is why you come to places on Casino; their real estate costs are somewhat lower and there's a good chance your bill will be as well. I was out the door with big tip for $20. It was nice catching this place between rushes this afternoon and just taking it all in. I'll definitely come back if the time and place line up.

This place makes the tastiest Bun Bo Hue I have ever had. And I've had a lot of bun bo hue in my day....even in Viet Nam. Yum.

    BBH soup
    Camille L.

Whatever we had--all delicious! BBH is on point and hearty. Portions are filling! The aroma from the spices is refreshing and soothing to my palate. Love the soups! The combo beef pho is also very delicious! They are very generous with the veggies toppings that go with soups, they have extra sauces on the side like chili oil, soy sauce, black pepper, hoisin, and even fish sauce. How about that!? Service is very good and friendly. It's very clean too! Ambiance was nice and comfortable. Whatever was cooking in the back, made us feel like we were in Vietnam. It smelled really good and very aromatic. I could see myself going back to go to eat here again. I recommend! Plenty of parking around.

#1 - Pho Tai - Noodle Soup with Eye Round Steak

One of the pho restaurants in my rotation. Opens early for "breakfast" for morning cravings. Broth is consistent with less of the anise than some of the other local spots. Staff is friendly!

    Bad broken rice.
    Le T.

I am Vietnamese and I can tell the food here are neither authentic nor good. I ordered one Pho and one broken rice. If consider these are fusion, they were still the worst Vietnamese food I have every tried. Pho soup was so bland, like they put lots of water and not many spices. They gave me old bean sprouts that has been spoiled. Broken rice (Cm tấm): the rice was the normal rice but they barely put any water to cook to mimic broken rice. It was dry to choke. The pork chop was not marinated enough and thin slice. The egg cake (chả trứng) was so bland and burn. The fish sauce wasnt salty at all. I dont recommend this place. The Vietnamese food was even worse than homemade.

    Thai tea with Boba lol
    FoodLover L.

Three stars for pho. It was good enough to hit the spot since I was in the area. I also had a side of egg rolls which was OK. The Thai tea with boba was definitely a missed. The Thai tea tasted like a powdered flavored drink and the bobas were lumpy and lumped together. Anyone who drinks and loves boba knows that's not how it's suppose to be. Please note the review expressed here is my own and should not be used as a reference to influence your opinion.

Bun Bo Hue, it's what's for breakfast!
    Mike S.

I consume more Viet foods than any other, I'm sorry to have to post this poor review. I received the worst Bun Bo Hue ever here this morning, positive I could make better, maybe blindfolded. What I received was very oily, no spice, extra salty brisket, and %80 noodles, not one thing about my soup was satisfying. Their pho maybe better but I don't care to find out, next time I will surely make the trip south for the quality I'm use to. UP YOUR BBH!!!

    Lots of veggies and meat
    Carol T.

Had their bunbohue only. Quite different to flavors of other, had a much more herby taste to it. However the portions were quite large and the service was not bad at all. I can't account for their pho cause never tried it, so this review is purely based on their bun bo hue. Would go here for a different (maybe more authentic) bun no hue taste .

So glad this place survived after Covid. The seafood shaved noodle was solid. You get shrimp, squid and scallops. $13.95. Really? We are floored! Husband said it was exactly the same and he enjoyed it! He finished his whole plate. Impressed with the large portion!! Shrimp was huge! Instead of seafood, I asked to sub with chicken. Server said no problem! The chicken slices were super tender and juicy and the shaved noodle texture was perfection. It was a bit bland but nothing a lil' table soy can't fix. Only $11.95 for a huge platter. I was super hungry and cleaned my plate but for most, there'd be leftovers. Mapo tofu with white rice. The sauce had too much corn starch and the meat texture was not my favorite. I've had better but when you have spicy sauce over fluffy rice, it can be mediocre and still be satisfying..Would rather have this for my work lunch than Marie Callendar's any day. Pan fried pot stickers 8 pieces $7.95. Delicious. It's the thin skin kind. Classic, you can't go wrong! I can't eat fried stuff nowadays but their fried chicken wings were the best. Plump, juicy and piping hot! I am sure it's still amazing! They have lots of other menu items. On a colder day, I would go for the custom noodle soup bowls for $12.95. (Choose noodle, broth, 2 veg and 2 proteins). Duck noodle soup sounds amazing. For more topping, I think it's $2.25 per extra topping. One of the few places where most everything is below $15 per entree item and nothing above $20. I would like to try their oxtail noodle soup, sizzling beef or chicken platter, teriyaki short ribs, beef chow fun, and black bean noodle dish next time. Interior is clean with pleasant Cantonese Chinese music, free waters, and guava candy when you pay. The evergreen Asian supermarket next door has a lot of Asian grocery goodies with a Vietnamese deli inside. Durian is on sale for $4.29 a pound. Yes, you can get durian in Everett! Impressive! Worth the drive to get good Chinese then shop next door.

It is a huge portion but it is completely devoid of any flavor whatsoever. Usually onions add something but that did not help. I don't know how you can mess up noodles but no one in my family would eat them and there is one person in my family that will manage to eat almost anything and they refused. The sweet and sour chicken was drowning in sauce even though we asked more than once for the sauce to be on the side. We liked the bell peppers and onions in the sauce. The chicken pieces were of decent size. I did not care for the sauce. The white rice was well made and fluffy. The rice was probably the best part of the dish. About an hour later, we ended up throwing up the food. A complete waste of $31 dollars (which is pricey for what was supposed to be a lunch special). Also, vegetable chow mein and chicken chow mein is the same price which we found out after we had paid. Lunch is pictured and mention to include soup BUT you only get soup if you dine in. The place looked clean the the people seemed friendly. We may give them one more chance bc of the friendly service.

Adding to the outdoor ambiance inside, we were seated in a 'shaded porch' area, which still had plenty of room (such partitioning could reduce interior space). We were promptly greeted by the staff, who interestingly that day were not of Asian descent as typically found in Far East themed restaurants: more like your average Seattleite college-age server. I like that they bucked the stereotypes. As a ramen newbie, I was overwhelmed by the expert-level menu, the main reason I didn't give 5 stars. The menu starts with alcohol, leading me to look around for the food menu. There it is, tucked after several pages of booze and virgin drinks. The food section starts with the 'Botan Deluxe' (don't recall the actual name used) and lists the components using words that I as a newbie have either never seen before or maybe have seen but not understood, so my anxiety level spiked because I don't like being shamed into just ordering without understanding. Fortunately the waitress worked through this with me after my telling her my issue. The following page had a 'build your own ramen' blocked off into sections: noodles, broth, extras. With the extras, you get like 3 or 4 included (green onions, egg. garlic-something, seaweed, etc.) and more cost $1 extra (not printed on menu). I did the udon noodles, bone broth (insert fancy name but not with the fancy-name soy sauce added), and one extra ingredient over the included number. When asked 'tell me more about the green noodle?', the relatively new employee was unable to immediately describe, but went back and learned it was spinach blended. We also ordered a (fancy name) cucumber salad starter: yummy, sizable and recommended. The orders arrived promptly, with just a small break after the starter; the egg I ordered was replaced by bean sprouts: the served quickly and gracefully delivered the missing egg. Each ordered ingredient was placed as an individual island: it's up to the customer to blend or not (I enjoyed not mixing so to experience each flavor). The udon noodle was exactly as I had imagined and desired. My wife said she enjoyed her selection as well, although didn't pick out any unique flavor to the green noodle. The bill was right-priced if not even on the lower side for the neighborhood. We'll be back again to try more of the offerings now that we have a little bit of familiarity with the exotic descriptions.

I liked the fact that the menu was well organized with well described ingredients and accompanying pictures of the dishes (as a more exotic type genre, I have no clue how the traditional dish name translates to something I wish to order). I ordered the Swimming Rama because I wanted wide noodles and spinach. It arrived as a generous portion with excellent quantities of all the different ingredients. I'm also not a fiery hot spice eater, but don't want bland either, and the temperature was proper at spice level 2-3. Normally I would have most of the dish and reserve some for lunch tomorrow, but it was so good (combined with a desire to not carry doggie bags to our next stop) that I finished my dish. My wife had the papaya salad and red curry, and she found them very fresh and flavorful, spicy but not excessive. She also finished her plate. Minor deduction in that the dining area is somewhat small and nondescript, and the door on a cold evening let in some cold (our waiter made sure to bus the door with every passage to minimize this issue). Prices were fair and competitive: great quality and quantity at a good price. I don't understand why there wasn't more of a a crowd!? A real witness: We are planning on returning in a month.

We ordered the kimchi pancake, short rib soup with potatoes and glass noodles, and fried beef brisket (spice level 2/4). The kimchi pancake was overly breaded and tasted like it had been fried in reused oil. The short rib soup was the safest dish of the night, but the beef was still chewy rather than tender, the glass noodles were minimal, and the broth was extremely salty with a noticeable MSG-like taste. The fried beef brisket was heavily sauced, overly salty, and far spicier than a mild level should be. The beef itself tasted far from fresh and was very tough to chew. The appetizers were among the most basic I've seen at any Korean restaurant in the Greater Seattle area. Even then, the kimchi lacked depth and tasted unfresh, with sourness that felt more like age than proper fermentation. What made the experience even stranger was when the server asked how everything was. We tried to respond politely, and the server simply said, "I'm with you." Korean food is not rare in this area, and the prices here are on the higher side. With that context, the quality is difficult to justify. To be fair, the space is decent for group gatherings, large space, and the staff were friendly. But food is the most basic standard for a restaurant, and unfortunately it fell far below expectations. I genuinely don't understand how this place has such high ratings.
