Probably my new favorite restaurant in Lynnwood! I'm surprised it took me this long to try Ashiya and now I must go more frequently. A little hole in the wall Japanese restaurant serving up the yummiest Japanese dishes. They have a variety amount of things to choose from and their dishes are a good portion for a decent price! I think a must get here is the creamy udon with chicken katsu. They add cheese to the top of the katsu which I enjoyed (I think they used parmesan, which gives it a little saltiness, so might not be for everyone). The sauce was the perfect amount of creaminess and the noodles were cooked perfectly. It tasted a bit different from other creamy udon dishes I tried at other places, like there was a bit more depth in the sauce. I wish the broccoli wasn't super soft but that's personal preference. Overall, I couldn't stop eating it! My boyfriend got the chicken teriyaki and katsu combo platter. It had a generous serving of meat. He enjoyed this dish as well. The people working here are super kind. I felt so welcomed coming in. Highly recommend this place if you are in Lynnwood!

It has lots of options, the service is excellent. The only part of the food I would say that isn't as good is the chicken cream udon, it's pretty heavy and very cheesy. The noodles are also very soft, the chicken could be less dry. Otherwise, very large portions and very tasty. It has a good amount of tables inside.

We are from the SF Bay Area and saw this place on yelp while researching where to eat. Trust me when I say this restaurant does not disappoint. We arrived this morning and made the trip to have our first meal at this local establishment. We were greeted right away when we walked in and you order at the counter. The food was brought directly to the table. Everyone was polite and helpful. The place is small but big enough to seat small to medium groups. It is nothing fancy but it is cute and quaint. We tried the Omurice and the Kimchi Cream Udon. Both are amazingly delicious. The Omurice is not the runny egg but that didn't detract from the sheer deliciousness of the dish. It was a huge portion and if I must repeat myself, absolutely delicious. - 9/10 and far better than what we have locally. The Kimchi Cream Udon was rich, creamy, and had bold flavors and fun textures. It is a must try dish - 9.5/10 If the dishes we had are an example of how the other menu items would be, try everything and come here often. Definitely worth the visit.

Good food, good portions, and friendly service. I really like the creamy taste in some of the dishes. The only small issue is that some items (everything I tried) are a little salty, but overall the food is still very tasty. Little small place. I would come back again.

We were in the area and decided to stop by this restaurant based on strong Yelp reviews. It did not disappoint. Located in an unassuming location right off a busy road, we weren't sure because all the blinds were down. Once inside, we were warmly greeted by the cashier and the amazing smell of food. The menu is pretty extensive. It took us awhile to pick our lunch. I opted for the seafood champon and my daughter went for the creamy udon. Both were divine. Portions are really good and I feel that you get good value for your money. The champon was delightful loaded with seafood. Like actually seafood. I'm impressed. My daughter devoured her dish and was equally satisfied. What a find. We will definitely stop by again. Obvi, we highly encourage this place!

I saw their viral creamy udon dishes on TikTok and was blown away! I ordered delivery and the food was well packaged and came quickly, and I didn't really know if it was just hype or legit. I got the kimchi cream udon and the curry cream udon with chicken katsu and they were CRAZY good I couldn't stop eating them both! The udon was the perfect texture and the cream sauce covered it perfectly. They both have unique flavors so you have to get both! I was worried I wouldn't like the kimchi one as much because it was all veg but the kimchi itself was SO GOOD and flavorful that I couldn't stop eating it. I was even enjoying the bites of broccoli and I don't even like broccoli. I highly recommend!!

Friendly service. Many food varieties to choose. Okay for small group of people. The downside in my opinion is food flavor. It's in between "okay to blend". It may be spicy but lack of flavor. It may be sweet but lack of flavor. None of the food that we ordered was deep in flavors. Pretty pricey with the thin food flavor that we got.

Many of my friends who live up north around Lynnwood and Bothell have always hyped up Ashiya to be one of the best places for a casual Japanese meal, so I finally let them take me here to try for myself. I ordered the Chicken Karaage Curry that came with a side of rice and a salad. The chicken was cooked well, but I felt like it could have used more seasoning in the batter before it was fried, but still good for what it is. Curry was pretty standard, although having bits of vegetables would've been nice. The sides were decent too. I think the food was made nicely, I would come back here again. But I definitely would like to try out the other dishes they had as well, the creamy pasta dish my friend ordered looked a lot more exciting.

One of the best small ramen shops in Snohomish County. We loved the Takoyaki and Honey karaage as our starters. The portions are huge, so we split a Spam Donburi and a beef Udon and it fed our small family of four. We really recommend the Udon, it was our favorite dish! My normally very picky 3 year old happily devoured the beef and noodles, and everyone happily slurped the broth. The staff was very friendly and the food was served quickly and very fresh. Highly recommend!

This place is a hidden gem. My sisters asked me where I wanted to go for my birthday and Yelp has lead me here. It's located in a little plaza, not too far from the freeway with ample parking space that shares with other businesses. Upon arrival, you will see the menu on the big screen tvs. Everything looks really good, so we were quite indecisive on what to order. The decor in the place was so cute, they even brought out the cute plates for us to use. We ordered the calamari, chicken creamy udon and the tan tan noodles. The calamari was so good. It had the perfect amount of batter and you can taste the squid. The aioli sauce was a nice touch to it. It came out pipin' hotttt. The spicy tan tan ramen had tons of toppings, they definitely did not skimp, although it would have been nice if the eggs wasn't fully cooked. The chasiu was spectular and thicccck. The show stopper for me was the chicken creamy udon on the hot plate. It was hot and steamy! I've never had perfect broccoli and carrots in a dish before. It wasn't mushy--and the chicken was surprisingly flavorful and not dry. The udon and creamy sauce was chef's kiss. The staff here was really nice and kind. I would totally come back here and recommend this place to others. Do not sleep on this place. I'm glad we were lead here as now we will have options when we head north. Go check this place out, you won't regret it!

Feels like a Korean Japanese fusion place to me. Everything here has the sweetness touch in it, like teriyaki, which I'm not a big fan off. However the flavors are there so it's not too bad. . Beef donburi: eggs are cooked more than I prefer. Beef is tender . Unagi donburi: unagi is great but I wish they had seared it just a little bit longer . Honey chicken karaage: crunchy and moist inside . Creamy udon: very tasty and not too cheesy. . Omurice: we thought it's going to be the one where you cut in the middle and the egg flips from the center but it's not the case. It's basically just a big egg over fried rice. Luckily it was quite good.

The following are the items which we ordered. Spicy Pork Ramen - my wife loved it and won't mind having it again if we come here Omusoba - this was my first time i tried it, maybe would request not to have those sauces on the eggs if i order it again Chicken Wing 5pcs - good taste Beef Donburi - my daughter didn't like that little sweet taste of the beef, but i did like it and so did my wife. We would definitely visit this place again. Service was good, courteous staff. Small and nice place.

The shop was very clean and welcoming. Customer service was pleasant, and the food came out quickly without feeling rushed. Everything was absolutely delicious, the curry especially stood out, spicy and full of flavor. I highly recommend this spot and will definitely be back!

They can accommodate big groups, as they had 2 different large groups at the same time, but those took up a lot of tables because the restaurant isn't that spacious. We ordered boiled dumplings and the friends combo A with jajung, jjamppong, and tangsuyuk (M). The bowls of jajung and jjamppong are huge, but I didn't notice any meat in the jajung. The jajung was basically noodles, brown sauce, and onions. It was tasty, but disappointing that it looked and tasted vegetarian. The jjamppong was tasty because it was garlicky and slightly spicy. I was surprised to see the boiled dumplings were basically tiny wontons in clear broth. They need to update their menu description because I was expecting dry and regular sized dumplings. The tangsuyuk was very crispy, and I'm glad they served the goopy sauce separately.

While I haven't been to the original in Korea, the LA spots are my go-to favorites, so I'm comparing this new Lynnwood location to that experience. The interior here is great--open, inviting, and perfect for first-timers. The service was excellent, and like the LA locations, they handle the grilling for you (a premium touch you don't always find at local KBBQ spots). The menu and pricing are very similar to what you'd expect from the brand. I did notice a slight dip in food quality compared to LA. The meat there tends to be leaner, the seasoning is a bit more refined, and they are much more proactive about swapping out the grill plate between different cuts of meat. That said, chain standards are usually highest in LA, so that's a tough comparison. Overall, it's still a fantastic experience. If you're a first-timer or comparing it to other options in the Lynnwood area, I definitely recommend giving Baekjeong a try!

After ordering a beer/soju tower, our server asked for our IDs, which is completely understandable. However, she proceeded to examine them for an uncomfortably long time while repeatedly looking back and forth between my face, my ID, and my sister. She then told me I "don't really look like" my ID photo because my hair is different and even commented that my ID looked more like my sister than me. We're twins! At one point she had both of our IDs side-by-side comparing them while continuing to question things. I finally told her that while I understand validating IDs, the interaction was making me feel like the legitimacy of my ID was being questioned. What made it even more awkward was her repeatedly commenting that the tower we ordered was "a lot of beer," which honestly felt judgmental and unnecessary. We are clearly adults, presented valid IDs, and were simply ordering something from the menu. That said, the actual food was delicious. The BBQ combo we ordered was excellent, the sides were plentiful, and overall the meal itself was really enjoyable. It also seemed like the server realized the interaction had gone poorly because she later brought us complimentary soup and dessert, which we did appreciate. We still tipped well because we understand serving isn't easy and wanted to be fair. But honestly, the initial interaction left such an uncomfortable impression that if I returned and saw the same server again, I'd probably immediately feel uneasy. There's absolutely a professional way to verify IDs without making customers feel scrutinized or subtly accused of fraud.
