My favourite place of all time for bahn mi! Period! You can't convince me otherwise. Anywho, I know I'm gushing about this place but go try it for yourself. I have tried all sandwiches here but my go to is the COMBO sandwich that has all three meats (beef, pork, chicken). It's a hefty samich so your tummy better be empty for such a challenge. One of the new things I've seen is that they now have a "Sandwich Subscription/Membership" thingy. It's $99 a month for 1 samich everyday (whichever you want) which if you don't cook or eat out everyday it's a really good deal when you think about it. Their other food is good too, we've had appetizers, soups, and it's all good. Overall it's a solid 8 out of 10. But again, go and try it for yourself and you be the judge, this is my go to place. Honestly 5 stars is not enough. I'd give them 10/10 if I could. After 8 years of living within walking distance to Janbo we finally decided to check it out and honestly I'm kicking myself for not going sooner. What we ordered; Singing Chicken, Mapo Tofu, Crispy Chow Mein with seafood, and a taro milk tea (with boba!). Honestly everything was so good and texture was on point. It was so good that I forgot to take a picture. We ordered 2 combos. The pricing was competitive but the portions are much larger than expected. The 3 of us ate so much and still walked out with 4 boxes. The hot tea was free. There was one lady working front of the house and she was very friendly and accommodating. The outside may not seem like much, but inside was really nice and comfortable. I didn't expect much from this restaurant at first. The place is cozy, I think it can seat around 20-25 people. You can seat anywhere you want, then the wait staff will bring you the menu, or you can scan a QR on your table to place your order and browse the menu too. Such a bummer that I didn't get to take pictures, I'll put them up next time I go there. Me and my husband ordered the House Special Fried Rice, which is packed with meat already, it has pork, beef, and shrimp! It was very tasty too! I think it can be shared by 2-3 people. Next we also had the Grilled Combo Rice Plate, this one has grilled pork, chicken and beef topped on rice, it also has a salad on the side. We also had the BBQ Pork, it's good but a little dry as per my husband, pairing it with Hoisin sauce made it better. Great Banh Mi Sandwiches! We make this a regular stop whenever we're in the area. It's not in the best area but the neighborhood is improving. We did witness a shootout across the street and needed to shelter in the kitchen until the police with their assault rifles showed up. I still give them 5 stars for staff and food. Overall, I think this is a pretty decent Vietnamese place to eat at for lunch. Came here with a coworker and dang....this place gets packed pretty quickly during lunch time. With an extensive menu consisting of familiar Chinese / Vietnamese dishes (think pho, banh mi, sweet & sour chicken, mongolian beef and etc), there is something for everyone. Prices are fairly reasonable, with most basic items under $10 and the specialties being $10+. For food, we ordered the: Viet fried egg rolls, chicken curry, and the dry noodle combo. For the egg rolls, it's a lil pricey but I was delighted to see how packed it was with meat and other things. As for the curry, didn't get to try it but my coworker mentioned how it was pretty bland. For my dish, ordered the dry noodle bowl that came with a side of broth and it was decent. Not super memorable but it definitely hit the spot in regards to my hungry tummy. Finally, the main highlight of the meal was: FREE HUGE CREAM PUFFS! Yasss, the cream puffs are huge as a tea cup and you get the option to pick either a vanilla or chocolate filling. :) Woot woot. Nothing hits the spot like Pho when you're not feeling good. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. While dining here, one will witness a constant flow of patrons coming in to pick-up their to-go orders. Because of this, it is easy to go unseen by the staff when one wishes to dine onsite. A slight wave of your hand will capture a staff members attention. Complimentary hot tea is provided while viewing the menu. I started out with Vietnamese Fried Egg Rolls (qty 2) for $4.50. The ground pork filling was flavorful and the egg roll was perfectly crisp. I also ordered a small bowl of Vegetarian Pho for $7. The Pho was loaded with fried tofu, broccoli, carrots, bok choy, cabbage and onions. The garnishments were fresh and plentiful (bean sprouts, basil, jalapenos and lime wedges). About 15 years ago, before I knew what Pho or Banh Mi sandwiches were, this simple café opened. The first time I tasted Pho I wasn't sure if I loved it or I hated it, so I gave it another chance, it was sooo different! But after another chance I knew this was going to be a long, hot, never ending relationship! After ordering Pho 15 million times in a row... no exaggeration, I had the bright idea of trying something else, so I tried a chicken Banh Mi, jalapenos included! That was instant delight. Forward 2 years and my job moved and I stopped going to Everett and so then only memories of Janbo remained. First of all, a big thank you to previous Yelpers who had me select this as today's lunch destination - great selection of Chinese and Vietnamese favorites at Janbo Café. The Shoreline trio met up with family members driving down from Stanwood. Nice find on Evergreen Way (diagonal from Value Village) in Everett. The entire time we were there, all tables were filled and there was constant traffic for takeout and catering orders. The two wait staff covered the dining room with friendly efficiency. I also greatly appreciated the generous carafes of hot tea provided along with ice water. Note: prices listed were from the online menu. Two family members had the huge Combo Bowls ($8.25 each) served with grilled meat, fresh veggies, fried egg rolls, atop vermicelli noodles, and topped with sliced scallions, cilantro, and roasted peanuts. Another had the Orange Chicken Combo ($7.95, plus $1.50 upgrade to combo with added cup of soup (egg flower or hot and sour), veggie egg roll, and steamed rice. Another ended up finishing off the hot and sour soup and enjoyed the Pork Chow Mein with thin egg noodles and veggies ($8.25) I had the Pork Chop Rice Plate ($8.25) where the pair of thin cut, lemongrass marinated pork chops are grilled and placed atop steamed rice garnished with scallions. A generous side of lettuce, pickled carrots, daikon, and sliced cucumbers is also provided. I used up all of the chili infused sweet tart accompanying sauce. It was delicious that kiddo ended up eating a decent portion of the pork chops. It was comparable to my favorite version at Local Pho in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood. And...what a big surprise to be given a huge complimentary cream puff filled with either vanilla or chocolate custard filling to end our meal. The cream puff (pate a choux) was crisp, light and not soggy - excellent! Compared to the dinky ones at Than Brothers Seattle locations, these were ginormous!
