i have had this several times now and the Beef Pho broth is one of the best I have ever had. I have been to many vietnamese places in the Houston area and was skeptical coming in to this little out of the way place. I have now returned many times. The quality has been consistent. I have also had the chicken Pho. They have another winner with this one. The borth is rich and flavorful. On numerous occassions we have also ordered the stir fried seafood with crispy rice noodles. Never failed to please with that dish. I believe the sauce base is the same if you order it with chicken. The noodles are unusual in that it seems to be flat wide style noodle that is rolled up and sliced, into disks. These disks are then lightly fried and have a lightly crispy outside and a soft chewy inside. I have started ordering double the amount of noodles. There is a $3 charge for that and well worth it to us. We are now frequent visitors to this place. The restaurant is clean and the service is rapid. read more

Came here for a late lunch. I wasn't greeted upon entering, but I quickly figured out this is a seat-yourself kind of place. And after not being acknowledged by staff, it became a grab-your-own-menu kind of place for me as well. And just as I began to think that maybe this is an order-at-the-register kind of place, I was able to flag down a passing waiter and order. I got the grilled pork vermicelli with an egg roll. The pork was good and the vermicelli bowl was on point. The egg roll was the most bizarre and awful egg roll I've ever had. A crisp, flaky crust (so far so good), gives way to a strange paste with a mashed potato consistency (what? why?... just, why?). Not sure what it was made of, but in addition to the unusual texture inside the egg roll, it tasted awful. I was in shock. Can it really be this bad? I took a second bite only to confirm. Then I ripped the rest of the egg roll apart just to see what was inside it. I've got no clue what this paste is. Despite this, I may stop back in this place if I'm in the area, just won't order the egg roll. I wanted to give this place 4 stars, but the lack of service pushed it to 3. Also, this place has strange feng shui; they placed a bookshelf in the middle of a doorway. read more

Two words: FOOD. POISONING. I ordered two orders of Phō, one tomato and crab soup, two shrimp spring rolls, and one shrimp fried rice. My son only ate the shrimp fried rice and is the only one not sick. It has been nonstop sickness since within two hours of eating this filth. My friend commented that it smelled bad as soon as we unpacked it, but I couldn't smell it (I've been sick) so we went for it anyway. WORST. MISTAKE. EVER. We are literally confined to the house today. Don't do it! And for $40, I want my money and my guts back. Ugh. read more

I love Pho!!! I can eat Pho everyday, and I do try to do so. This place is super close to my work, so I decided to give it a try. I had the Pho with chicken (white meat), and spring rolls. I eat these two things all the time, at different Pho places. They were definitely up there with the good ones. I came back a few days later, this time for some egg noodles stir-fried with beef and vegetables. Again, it was tasty. I did notice that the place was very empty both times that I was there. Hubby and I decided to try Pho VIVi for lunch today was craving it. Friendly staff from the time we walked in. Food was ordered in a timely manner. First we ordered drink. Then appetizer egg roll(cha gio) and spring roll(goi cuon thit nuong). Both appetizer was flavorful with its dipping sauce. And hubby and self ordered Pho Dac Biet(noodles with combination meats). In my experience: never again ALL HONESTY: I'm going to say this without exaggerating.. My dad and I decided to go out to get pho for breakfast. We saw that there was a "New Management/Grand opening" sign so why not give this place a try. As we sat down we ordered 2 bowls of pho and 1 ice tea. A few minutes later they brought out the ice tea and there was literally 5 ice cubes that were in the processing of melting: disappearing. No joke, about 30 minutes later a girl comes out and ask if we ordered yet, and my stomach was over here growling. So they brought out the pho and there were no spoons at the table... The pho noodles were also chewy for some reason... After we ate my dad went to pay and they couldn't find the recipe: our table # we sat at. The girl had to go to the back to ask everyone. I have come here multiple times and while the food can be very good, it is also hit and miss. There is nothing worse than expecting hit fresh food and receiving old, stale, and/or tasteless food. However, I have had enough. I usually get the tofu fried rice and despite MULTIPLE time having egg in the rice, after the request for NO EGG, I still gave it a try (Not much else around and I work nearby). This last time was terrible. I asked for sriracha sauce. They tell you it's in the bag. I leave and proceed to my destination. Wen I arrive, I begin eating my meal. The Vegetable rolls were stale. They were not appetizing at all. Next I use the siracha on my meal and while eating i double check the packet. It has Anchovies!!! Due to my dietary restrictions, I do not consume fish OR egg. I called and told them about this and was told "We don't know about that". Which doesn't matter, my meal should be replaced. I was told the manager needed to handle it and she would call me back. I never received a call. The next day i was sick. Today I go to the restaurant for my meal and the guy there says "I don't know about that" as well. THAT IS NO EXCUSE! IT IS A RESTAURANT! Regardless, I am owed a replacement meal. I am once again told it has to be the manager and she wont come in until after 4pm and that i need to come back then. TWO DAYS LATER??? I am not someone to be summoned at 4pm...The service should be readily available and PRIOR authorization should have been given. This place has terrible customer service. Perhaps I will inform you if my order is EVER redeemed properly. I would find another Vietnamese restaurant if I were you. There are plenty of other ones with better, consistent food and service. **UPDATE** I was disrespected by the male server and my meal was not replaced. I wanted to try this restaurant out before but something happened with fire, and it had to close down but it's reopened now and I tried it out with my family. The workers there are incredibly sweet and the food is 5/5. I tried and order of the pho of course and it didn't make me feel bad with a lot of MSG like a lot of other pho places. This is the best pho I ever had. I've been coming here for years. My family and I come at least once a month. I know when we lived around there I went every single week because the food is that good. I even came to eat here before my senior prom lol because it's my favorite restaurant ever. I always get the combo pho. It's a small pho with your choice of spring rolls or egg rolls and a sweet tea. And the sweet tea is good. I think the price now is 8.99. So worth it. I leave feeling satisfied every single time. I came to Texas for a business trip and stopped by this restaurant for a quick lunch and also to see if the pho here comparable with Orange County California. I was surprised that the pho here is amazing, I don't get thirsty after drinking the soup. I don't know if they put m.s.g or not but the broth tasted excellent or even a lot better than some pho restaurants in California. I'll try their grill plates next visit. Have eaten here a couple of times (both pho and vermicelli) and the food is fairly standard and typical. Good but not great. Pricewise, the vermicelli is a bit pricey, but the pho is a very reasonable price. They also heavily advertise Cajun crawfish during crawfish season, but I haven't tried it yet nor asked for pricing. WARNING: Only pay cash at this restaurant. I paid with a credit card last time and within 12 hours, had fraudulent activity occurring with a cloned credit card. For a variety of reasons, I am absolutely certain that the fraud originated here. read more

I live in a neighborhood where there are several Vietnamese restaurants, and this one is easily my favorite. I love the banh bot chien and I find the vermicelli dishes are very tasty with fresh ingredients. I also really love the rice with shaking beef. This is my go to place for Viet food for lunch. The Pho here is pretty great, I can actually drink the broth and not fear of getting sick. Every other dish I have had here all have been great. The staff are young and nice. The place gets full during lunch. Their sandwiches can improve a bit, but not bad. Still recommend the pho here. read more

Let me start by saying go to Pho Hai Van right down the street where they'll actually appreciate your business don't go here. If you ordered online but don't know whether it was grub hub or etc they'll give you all kinds of attitude(btw the only company they use for pickup is grub hub). Walk in and give them your name and that you had an online order and they won't know what your talking about and legitimately get mad at you asking if it was thru grub hub or etc. but your order will be sitting right there in front of everyone's eye sight and all they had to do was just a little effort towards actually doing their job and just looking at the orders themselves instead of standing there with a customer getting angry at literally nothing but me asking for my food AND informing them it was an online order. I've lived here for a year and this place was right down the street, so a couple months ago I decided to drop in for lunch on the way to work. It's in a kind of junky shopping center, but don't let that fool you. The inside is simple and clean with a pretty eclectic mix of country, classic rock, and club music playing on the stereo, but the magic here is in the quality of the food. This is hands down the best Vietnamese food I've had in the US. The prices for the entrees are very reasonable and everything is fresh and made in house. When you order egg rolls they come out piping hot from the fryer and are true Vietnamese style and not just something they pulled out of a package and warmed up. Spring rolls are fresh with sticky rice paper and crisp vegetables. The meat, whether it be pork, beef, or chicken, is seasoned to perfection and always so ridiculously tender. The large pho comes in a ridiculously large bowl with fresh and beautiful vegetables. If you haven't been here you NEED to drop in. read more

I have pork vermicelli at least once a week from different places. This pork was just nasty and I found what looked like a short black hair in it..i wasnt 100% sure thats what it was bc it was so thick but i can't think of anything else it couldve been. Anyways idk why i guess cause i wasnt sure but i just stuck it in the fridge. My brother ended up eating it when he came home but he was still drunk/hungover. I wont be going back. read more
