So after desperately searching Omaha for great pho, alas I came here. And my search is still going lol. It was good but not great. Nothing comparable to south Federal pho in D-Town. Any who, I ordered the spring rolls and they was tasty! Damn that peanut sauce was a little thicc but dayum!!!! Flava town!! My companion ordered rare beef and I got tofu. Too much filler for my liking. Spice was perfect on the scale but I specifically asked for more veggies and less noodles in my veg pad Thai but they didn't listen. Mostly noodles and filler veggie. I highly recommend trying this place out. The owner and his wife pretty much run this establishment by themselves. Small businesses FTW! It's a little hard to find if you're not looking for it but it's in the same plaza as No-Frills on the North East side (hope this helps). We ordered two bowls of combination pho and a thai tea boba drink. We also got two free egg rolls with our entree (promotion until Aug 21, 2014). To me, the egg rolls weren't super special but hey, it was free. I would have preferred a more pungent and savory sauce to pair with them as well, bring on the nuoc mam please! The pho was a little on the oiler side but that doesn't bother me too much because the broth was rich and tasty. It was also abundant in garnishes (cilantro and green onion) which is what I prefer. Beef meatballs were the full meatball but cut in half, instead of just thin slices of meatballs like at Vietnamese Asian. There was a lot of meat in the combination pho (I had to give some to my friend because I couldn't finish). They also provide an ample amount of the usual suspects: bean sprouts, fresh jalepeno, and mint leaves to add to your pho. The only thing that fell flat was probably the boba, which were either soft or too hard. The thai tea though was delicious, I would probably stick to the drinks sans boba. Upon leaving I tipped generously 25% since the owners were so nice. They only opened 4 months ago (April 2014), and so I wanted to take as many pictures as possible to share on Yelp. As I left, I was taking pictures of the menu on the window to post on Yelp and the owner runs out to hand me a take out menu. So sweet! :) It's the little gestures that count, and I'm totally sold on this place coz of it. If you're in the market for a new pho place defnitely check this out. I like my fried rice Extra spicy. I always order fried rice from other places and ask for it triple X spicy. It is never spicy enough. Pho Viet triple X would be too hot. XX brings home the flavor (terrific) And the spiciest fried rice in town. Nice size portion and only $10.25. Grub Hub delivery is available. Do yourself a favor and order shrimp spring rolls. Little mom and pop place that's very homey. The pho here is better than what we can find in downtown as the broth is def more authentic however a bit disappointed when I saw that they use flank instead of brisket in the pho tai. It will be my first and last time eating at Pho Viet! My husband and I ordered 2 bowls of PHO (which wasn't too bad), egg rolls for our daughter, and 2 Bahn Mi to-go. The egg rolls were tiny and tasted bland. We also ordered a Thai Tea and Sprite in which wasn't served to us until we were done with our food. What really pissed me off was...we drove an hour home to Iowa and when I opened my Bahn Mi sandwiches, I find 3 pieces of meat with 2 slices of cucumber and jalapeno. Really?! At first when we drove up, my husband did not want to go inside because the exterior was not kept up with all the shops around. I drove all the way out here to try the Vietnamese special sandwich since I have been in search of a good one in Omaha, so I got him to agree to stay. I took my son to the bathroom and the walk to the bathroom was by the kitchen and storage area was not well kept... lots of random stuff and not very organized or the most clean. I got back to the table and thought about leaving, but I am glad we stayed. The food was awesome!!! 4 for food and 3 for appearance. Looks like they got new chairs which helps. First time here and it can't get much more authentic than Pho Viet. We chose to eat in since there wasn't anyone else dining in (they mostly do take out) and we were able to socially distance ourselves. We started with the Spring Rolls which are the cold version with shrimp and a peanut dipping sauce. I ordered the Catfish Clay Pot. It was amazing! Slow cooked to reduce the sauce it was served with white rice. My husband had the BBQ pork over rice vermicelli with a sliced egg roll. Both dinners were delicious with deep flavor. I gave this restaurant 4 stars due the restaurant itself. Not much for atmosphere, but it's super clean and it was fun watching the Vietnamese version of The Voice on the tv. Man I love pho and supporting my Asian people but this place was not worth it at all. We went at 430p on a friday. Ordered chicken pho, egg rolls, and two bubble tea (strawberry and honeydew) the pho was ok. Not enough noodles and you can tell right away you didn't get enough. Egg rolls where not worth it. Very thin, no meat and wasn't even cooked all the way through. That's hard to do when it's thin and barely any filling. We ended up getting the bubble tea a little after we got our food (wth) honeydew was good but the strawberry tasted like pepto bismo. The tapioca bubbles where horrible, super chewy. Was disappointed since I read the chef used tube at Mai Tai. On to the restaurant. I'm good with a family run place. They are usually the best tasting. But having a little 3 year old running around yelling, and then a baby crying ruins your dinning experience. Especially when the waitress is feeding the baby while working. Place is very poorly lit, seriously needs a decorator, and even saw a roach crawling around. Everywhere I travel I look for a nice pho place...this was one of the worst. The owner was nice though... but having him constantly telling the little kid to go back into the back and the rest swearing in Vietnamese is not worth having to pay for. Growing up Vietnamese, I knew nothing would be better for my cold than a big ol' hot bowl of Pho. My parents went here the previous week and they were raving about it. They said it's as close to mom's cooking as you'll find so I couldn't wait to go here. Mind you, we drove here from Elkhorn on a night it was pouring AND during rush hour. I really wanted a bowl of Pho. Like many other Asian restaurants, interior design was an afterthought. The place is small with a few tables and booths, probably couldn't hold more than 35-40 people. It was run by a husband and wife team and from my understanding, the husband used to be a chef at Mai Thai. So onward to ordering....oh boy...I really like the wife, she's a nice lady but she has ZERO serving experience. Like none. For instance, we sat at our table and there were only 2 napkin sets (there were 4 of us). My daughter spilled her water all over the table and we asked several times for napkins and eventually we just took paper towels out of the bathroom to clean it up. We had to remind her several times we need spoons to eat our Pho. It was just so, so painfully bad... The food was actually good. We started off with the spring rolls and there was exactly one shrimp sliced in half for each roll, which seems a bit sparse to me. I ordered the pho and while good, it was a bit too greasy for my preference. My husband got bun thit nuong and he said it was really good. Part of the problem here is I went in with such high expectations and to me, good service magically makes the food taste better (or in this case, worse). I found it hard to enjoy the experience because I spent half the time tracking down the wife for things we needed. The immigrant Asian girl inside of me wants SO BADLY to see them do well and succeed. Probably the best banh mi in Omaha. The pho is also very good. The owner has the banh mi bread made especially for him so it's always fresh. I recommend adding an egg to your sandwich. First of all, I feel bad for leaving a bad review at this place cause the food was actually pretty good. We're not from the area so we were just relying on Yelp to suggest some good Pho. This place is in a very run down shopping complex, so when we pulled up we didn't have our hopes up very high. We walk in and sit down. First thing you hear is a screaming baby behind the counter. (Being a childless person I respect working mothers, but have a low tolerance for screaming babies.). Our waitress brings the baby to the table when she took our order. He was happy being on her hip, so it was fine. As we waited for our food we saw a cockroach behind the fake flower decoration on our table.. (We thought seriously about walking out at this point, with the screaming baby still in the background). The food came out, not the best Pho I've ever had, but decent. My husband ordered the Garlic Chicken and it tasted very strongly of fake garlic (not recommended). Long story short, I would not recommend this place to anyone. This is the best Pho in Omaha! Lately I've been going at least once every 2 weeks, sometimes every week. My girlfriend and I usually get the rare beef pho for takeout, we throw it all together in a big bowl, and it is just fantastic. The broth is some of the best stuff you'll ever taste. The items that we ordered: Combination Pho, Bum Bo Hue (spicy beef soup noodle) and Pho Viet Fried Chicken in a Sesame Seed sauce. My wife Julie is also a first generation Vietnamese/Chinese and she said that the food was very good, lots of flavor but not overpowering. The Bum Bo Hue tasted closer to traditional then many other Bum Bo Hues in Hawaii. We are dropping off my daughter at Creighton University. The Pho was bigger flavor and the Chicken fried then over Sesame Seed sauce was excellent. The owner and staff which seems to be family friendly. I hope more of the surrounding neighborhood will learn how good Vietnamese food taste. read more

Quick stop post Christmas to grab a soothing lunch to try and scare away a Christmas cold. Background - lived in St. Paul for many years where there is a very large Vietnamese immigrant population. The city has maybe 15 pho places within a few blocks, several that are amazing so I'd like to think I've got a reasonable perspective on pho. I've tried to make it a couple of times from scratch, ox tails and all and can assure you it's harder than it might seem on the surface. Service was personable, although don't expect much for ambience. It's a classic pho joint - low on atmosphere, high on volume and quality. Their broth is definitely made there, but was a little light on some of the classic flavors that I prefer to be more forward - star anise, coriander etc. but this is more preference than a demerit I think. I had the beef and the beef they use is definitely the highest quality that I've had in pho. Also had seafood pho and while most was likely previously frozen it was also definitely quite credible. Price was a bit higher than I've seen in St Paul and Atlanta, but I suspect their volume is lower and cost of some of heir goods higher so no real gripe their either. I would definitely head over and see the very friendly family that runs Pho Viet and grab some pho - especially on a cold, snowy Omaha day. I guarantee it will warm you up! read more

Very small restaurant located next to a grocery store. We visited here on a Friday night and there was not a soul. The owner basically took the order, cook and serve the meal. I guess nothing is wrong with being too efficient. We both ordered pho (combo and rare beef). The serving was big and more than enough. However the broth was not very clear and there was not much of a wow factor here. Overall this is an okay restaurant. I'm still on my search for better Vietnamese restaurant in Omaha. Btw, the owner went outside to smoke right after he serve our foods. I'm pretty positive he didn't wash his hands also. Lol read more

So far, the best pho I've had in Nebraska. I ordered the pho tai. The broth was perfectly seasoned and had great depth of flavor-- I would even go out on a limb to say that it is better than my mom's (sorry mom). Service is quick and the couple that runs that place is very nice. The lady doesn't know much English, but the husband speaks well enough. They didn't overcook the beef or cut it too thick like most places around here. The spring rolls are good, but they don't add pork in it, which I think is kind of weird. Got takeout from here. It was my first visit. Very good food and made fresh to order. It is run by a family and you may see their young children playing in the restaurant. My favorite dish was the lemongrass chicken followed by the drunken noodles with chicken. My son was in love with the pork vermicelli. My daughter had I complaints about the chicken fried rice. I wasn't so fond of the Singapore noodles. Normally I see them made with vermicelli noodles, but these were not vermicelli. Also, they had a different flavor that just wasn't up to par with other versions I've had. The spring roles were good; on the large side. But the dipping sauce could use some pizazz. Second time here. Not sure why I didn't return sooner. Both times everyone absolutely loved what they ordered. This time we started off with a Vietnamese Sandwich - Chicken Bahn Mi - OMG! BEST I have ever had and that's Chicago, NYC and San Fran in the mix. Now, I will say the place is a bit of a dive but I'm not snobbish about the interiors or perceived cleanliness of the places I eat. For me it's all about the food and this place is two for two! Plus, it's cheap. We had two noodle dishes and a sandwich for $22 bucks. When I paid the bill I thought to myself, If I just had that meal in an upscale restaurant I would have been more than happy to pay double that. I had the rare beef phó here for my first time, since I didn't want to drive too far to my favorite location in La Vista. I'll start out by saying the broth had really good flavor and the server was attentive and welcoming. The rest is not so good. The limes on the side had some stuff on the skin that I had to knock off. The noodles were so stuck together, it took a while for me to shake them up to even be able to pull them out, and when I did, they even broke. The beef was one of the cheapest, toughest cuts of beef I've ever seen in a phó. It seemed tender at first, but after trying to chew it for so long, and not being able to break it down, I had to spit it out. The bean sprouts didn't look too fresh. The pho was decent, but there were a lot of issues that would deter me from returning. It is definitely a hole in the wall kind of place and I'm not bothered by poor service if the food makes up for it, but it didn't happen here. No one was in the restaurant when we initially arrived for dinner so we were able to meet the husband and wife team who were very sweet. Unfortunately shortly after bringing drinks to the table, the wife left and the husband was left to take orders, cook orders, and serve dishes to us and the additional parties that eventually came in. It was definitely slow, which wasn't a huge problem, but it gave us time to see all of the issues with the place. 1) We saw a cockroach crawling along the wall. 2) Cook/Owner was eating and cooking in the back without washing hands. 3) Appetizer plates came out sopping wet. 4) Utensils were dirty and caked with dry food bits. 5) Wife eventually returned with baby and left baby sitting in car seat in a booth alone. Me and 4 other friends ordered phõ and we are big time pho professionals , the broth was drenched in oil. It was the oiliest phõ I have ever had from any restaurant. Also no condiments. No napkins on table or given, and wow did we Wait for a 30+ minutes for our phõ. I will Not be recommending this place. read more

Eh. Seen the 4 star reviews for this place and decided to go out and try it. I did read some of the negative reviews but what place doesn't have bad reviews. Also I'm not from around here so if this is one of the better places for pho then I feel bad for the locals. Ive been to plenty of Vietnamese restaurants around the country and this would probably be at the bottom of my list. The area is not ideal. It's in some broke down shopping area and I had a little trouble finding it as all the signs were all yellow. When I got into the shop I was greeted instantly and the food came out pretty quick. Although I was the only one in there. The place had a weird smell to it. The booth I was in felt like the cushion was completely worn out and I could feel the wood underneath. I just scooted down to where it wasn't so. I ordered the spring rolls and a combo pho. The spring rolls were ok. 3 for 4 bucks or something like that. The pho itself I believe was about 8.50. The broth was darker than the restaurants I usually go to but it had decent flavor. Now my issues with this place is that the noodles were overcooked as mentioned in some other reviews and they were difficult to grab with chopsticks. The meats tasted weird. Tasted like they left it out at room temperature before serving. When I got up to pay I noticed that the cook was sitting at a booth watching Vietnamese movies without shoes on. I guess it doesn't directly affect the food that I am eating but working without shoes? Really. My total came out to about 14 and some change. I gave the waitress a 20 and she gave me a dollar back. Let me start by saying if you want to go here, it's located on 7923 and not 7293. We drove around for about 10 minutes before we called in to ask. The yelp address is incorrect. As for the food, the noodles and broth were perfect! I'm not an expert of pho, but they were the right consistency to my liking. The price wasn't too bad for the portion as well.
