Decorations inside restaurant... very nice place.

I visited The Vietnamese Restaurant yesterday in La Vista and had another wonderful food experience. The place is owned and run by the family and the gentlemen that served we was very friendly, helpful and oh so very kind. It was clean and very nicely decorated with various decorative artifacts, flowers and plants. I was nice comfortable family run business that does very well with making you feel at home. I ordered the Rare beef & meatball Pho - the broth was extremely tasty, full of flavor and very aromatic. They packaged everything very well for my to-go order. The side fixin's (vegetables, spices, sauces) were all packaged separately and prepared very nice and everything was very fresh. They also give you a togo bowl big enough for everything to be mix together with the broth. I also ordered the pork spring rolls and chicken spring rolls and they were very good too. Fresh vegetables, EXCELLENT size portion. The contents were very generous, great mixture and tasted great! I know I know I ordered a lot for just me, but I feel like it was a rather healthy meal so I could indulge a little more. This place was a hidden gem in La Vista, I will definitely be visiting them again very soon.

Decent Vietnamese spot with average pricing. Cool decor adds to the ambiance. Service was good with plenty of seating. We ordered a bowl of beef pho, pork vermicelli, pork bahn mi sandwich and Shrimp spring rolls. Upfront, the main bahn mi and vermicelli were a bit too salty and the shrimp spring rolls were "basic" as they were smaller, chewy, and bland. On a positive note, the pho had a ton of noodles!

My sister and I come here every so often to get chicken pho. This is a great, casual place, very welcoming and friendly. I like that this place is small; it feels nice and cozy. The service is always very fast and the food is always great. This was the first and only place I've ever had pho, and I can't imagine going anywhere else now. They have boba tea drinks here, though I've never ordered it myself. I have been given it by the man who works here though - and I'm afraid I don't know his name! I really should ask him one of these days. It was kind of him to give us those drinks, and they tasted really good. I'll have to get one myself soon, though it'll be hard to pick because they have so many options.

    The sandwich I got

Having never had Vietnamese food, we thought we'd try it. i pointed to a picture on the menu and asked the waiter what it was. he didn't know. I pointed to the picture above it. Again, he didn't know. I ordered a sandwich (bahn mi). I got something that looked like a salad. i sent it back and got the correct item but it didnt Look like the picture and didn't have an egg on top. Both me and the waiter spoke English. So not sure why he wasn't getting it . We ordered 4 spring rolls-got 2 at the table. The ladies at the next booth got our check instead of us. So not the best experience. The food was mediocre. The carrots on the Bahn mi we're good though

Stopped in here on a last minute restaurant audible (think Peyton Manning yelling "OMAHA OMAHA!"), and it was an absolute touchdown! Yes, I'm going with the football theme for this review. Our server was a great coach, drawing up all the best plays for the night. She gave us great recommendations that led to a winning combination. We tried the rare and brisket pho, shrimp and pork clay pot, pork bahn mi and for the extra point...egg rolls! For us, the pho and bahn mi were the big winners of the night (as well as our coach/server, she was awesome). Overall, this place is an absolute contender for a return visit for me!

Best pho I've had in Omaha yet. Started with Milk Tea boba - soooo good! Everything came to our table together and was all hot and perfectly seasoned. Our waitress was the sweetest and recommended I dip the bahn mi in the pho broth.. why didn't I think of that sooner!! Incredible. Thanks for a great experience & can't wait to come back and try more dishes with loved ones.

Amazing vegetarian Pho, safely delivered to our car curbside, and enjoyed within the comfy, quarantine confines of our home.

Hubby and I ordered takeout from here on a Friday night in the midst of a global pandemic quarantine. We ordered two large Pho, one veggie and one traditional, shrimp spring rolls and vietnamese egg rolls. The Pho were delivered with the soup in one container and the noodles+toppings in a separate box. This allowed us to construct the meals on our bowls at home, and prevented the ingredients from getting all soggy. I appreciated that. So, the large Pho is massive! I would definitely have been ok with a small, but a huge bowl of noodles, veggies and broth was perfect comfort food for an uncertain time. Vegetarian pho is hard to find, so to not only find this but for it to also be so delicious makes my heart happy. The shrimp spring rolls and vietnamese egg rolls were yummy as well. The egg rolls were nice and crispy, and survived the trip home really well. I will definitely order takeout from here again, and once it is safe to leave our houses, I will dine in as well. Soon! Support your small local businesses - they might have vegetarian goodness!

Excellent service and the food was delicious. We ordered egg rolls, pho, chicken sandwich, green curry, fried rice, and other items from the menu. They were all great and we will return. The boba drinks are good and they have almond milk as an alternative for those that are lactose intolerant. The size of the drinks are bigger than other places.

Heads up, soft drinks come in a can so no free refills here, but water is available, thankfully. I treated myself to a strawberry lemonade with popping dragon fruit boba, and let me tell you, it was fantastic. Definitely getting that again. We started with crab rangoon. Service was a bit slow, even though it was not too busy, but the rangoons were worth every second. For the main event, we each grabbed a large bowl of pho. One special, one steak-only (mine), and one chicken. I love that all the sauces, utensils, and extras are right on the table. The broth is what makes pho, and theirs did not disappoint. The noodles took a little work, but everything came together perfectly. And the plate of sprouts, cilantro, lime, and jalapeño lets you doctor your soup just the way you like it. Lunch came to about $37 after tip (I covered the rangoons), which is a little steep, but considering I got a craft lemonade, a pop, a large soup, and plenty of leftovers, I think it was worth it. Honestly, the quality and quantity more than justify the price. I'm even starting to welcome colder weather just so I can enjoy this soup more often! I will absolutely be back.

Turnaround time on two entrees was pretty quick. When I arrived for pick-up, the shop is bright and clean, the people very friendly! I love a good bahn mi, and this has lots of veggies, a good amount of beef, and a nice, slightly zingy sauce. (I would have liked more of the mayo sauce, to be honest. I'll remember that next time.) The roll had nice chew, nice flavor, I would have liked just a little crispness to the crust, though. Honey Walnut Shrimp was really good! The shrimp were HUGE. The sauce was good, the veggie and rice accompaniment a little sticky, but overall delish. I'm not one for food swimming in sauce, but this could have used just a little bit more sauce, too. I'll definitely be back!

We're visiting Omaha, NE for the weekend and was looking for a good pho place. We decided to give…read morethis spot a try since it wasn't too far of a drive from the hotel we were staying at. We did read through quite a bit of reviews and we figured that since a lot of reviews were older, perhaps there are some improvements so we gave it a try! I do have some thoughts and wanted to share a current review on our experience today. Pro to Food: We ordered 2 bowls of their beef Combination Pho. We absolutely LOVED how flavorful the broth was. We didn't have to add any additional sauce to the broth to enhance the flavor because the broth was already super tasty. Like many other reviews, the broth is a little bit more oily than we're used to seeing BUT we cannot deny how great the flavor was so that's a huge bonus which is why we didn't mind the "oily" broth! It wasn't too terrible. Just a little more oily than what we've seen at other pho places but it's probably the liquid gold! Cons: - lack of meat in both phos. Our bowls of pho had very little amount of meat so that was a disappointment. I didn't count how many slices of meat/meatballs but it was a lot less than we're used to. Several other reviewers said that same thing about this issue, but we were hoping that since it's been several years since those reviews were posted, perhaps things have changed but sadly, it's still the same. - pho sizes: they only have one size. It would've been nice to have different sizes in case someone had a bigger appetite. - ambiance/cleanliness: The entire place needs remodeling (walls, floors, paint). They need to remove all the chairs and tables, sweep and mop everything thoroughly, and then put everything back. It looks like a place that just opened and is still needing a lot of work. - TV: They had a TV that was playing a video shooting game (like Roblox). I have a feeling that this was more so as entertainment for the owner's little ones but as a customer, I thought it was inappropriate in a restaurant setting to have something like that playing in this restaurant space. I'm a mother as well so having my little one there while trying to enjoy my meal and trying to keep my child from not watching something like that was a juggle that I didn't appreciate. We did see the "Shortage in staff" sign at the front of the restaurant (by the entrance) so we are sadden to see that due to shortage in staff, they're not able to get things where they would like it to be. Hoping that in a few years, we'll see some improvements if we're ever in the area again! Overall, would I recommend this place? I'll say, maaaaaaaaaybe (only for the broth). There are a lot of things that can be improved to make the place more inviting & the experience better. We have a favorite pho place where we live so that is the standard that we look for when we're trying other places but we always like to keep an open mind and try new places especially when we're traveling. The pho broth here is phenomenal so hats off to the chef!

I probably had half the broth and most of the veggies and noodles in my dinner portion, so I'm sitting here feeling like a roly poly, but it was worth it. My husband got the combo pho and all the veggies and noodles looked so fresh and good! I'm excited to go back. This is a no fuss, straight to business good food restaurant. If you're looking for authentic pho, this is a good choice. I didn't get a picture of the beef soup because I ate it too fast, but it was also lovely.
