Tender boned in large pork chop - with broken rice (upon request). With the side salad of sliced cucumbers, tomatoes, pickled radish / carrots and lettuce. Fried tofu skin shrimp roll, Egg souffle loaf, Pork skin shreds and a fried egg on top. A side of the sweetened fish sauce to dip the porkchop. This is large plate full of variety of items - This is why its the priciest rice plate on the menu. The service here is a hit or miss - water service was lacking. The bathroom here is clean. How this place doesn't have 5 stars across the board is a mystery to me! They were soooo delicious! I ordered the pork with vermicelli and it was exactly how I would get it in NYC. Going here tonight hit the spot! The waiter was awesome and so friendly with my little guy. Food came out nice, hot and quick. Everything was super fresh and flavorful. I loved my time here and the interior was very cozy and felt like being at a friends home. Loved that the bathroom was clean and had more than one stall. So you put "pho" into Yelp and look at the 5 or 6 pho options in the Mills area. Then you choose the one with the most stars but it's closed on Tuesdays. So you simply go to the option closest to your friend's house to please her since all the remaining 4 or 5 options seem similar. Then you end up at Pho Vinh, unpretentiously, by chance. I haven't had a truly great bowl of pho since I visited Chicago years ago, but this Orlando spot has officially ended my long search! We came in on a cool day craving something warm and comforting, and it was the perfect choice. We started with the Fried Spring Rolls, which were incredibly light, crispy, and packed with flavor--a fantastic start. For our main event, we ordered the #85 (Tái nạm). The bowl was massive and arrived piping hot, accompanied by a fresh plate of lime, jalapeño, bean sprouts, and Thai basil. The broth was the true star: deeply rich and flavorful, offering that ultimate comfort without the heavy, salty aftertaste you sometimes get. The slices of medium-rare steak were tender, and the rice noodles were perfect. This is exactly what great pho should be. The service is friendly, and our food came out surprisingly fast. While the staff was great at keeping our water glasses full, they became a bit less visible after the meal, and we had to flag someone down for the check. So Little Saigon closed and we were very very fond of their Hu Tieu (soup with pork, shrimp, crab, clear noodles). We ordered Hu Tieu, Bahn Xeo (scallion/shrimp pancake), and a stir-fry chicken. All of it was good but didn't quite meet our highest hopes. To be fair--it's a hard meal to do justice to ever when ordered as take out and I was really impressed with the amount of herbs and meat etc to add to the soup. But the broth was missing a bit of a kick that i've grown accustomed to. The Bahn Xeo was very good. My go-to spot for home style Vietnamese food! You have to get their caramelized braised catfish and veggie dishes. They cook the fish perfectly to where it's tender and fall off the bone, but not dry; and the sauteed water spinach with garlic is just like how my grandma makes. Both of these with some fluffy white rice hits the spot so good. The pho here is pretty good, but can be hit or miss sometimes; especially when compared to some other pho spots around town. Let me preface this review with, I love soup. All kinds, all times of year. Also, at any given moment I love Asian food, so all of that may be skewing my review. Pho Vinh is clean, decorated with some very specific Vietnamese paintings, and overall a decent place. It was clear that the to-go area was very busy. The pho was delightful and came with a very generous plate of Thai basil, bean sprouts, lime, and jalapeño. The broth was exactly what I wanted it to be and soothes the soul. I've been eating Pho around the world for a long time. This was the worst experience. The meat looked, tasted, and felt old. It was nasty to put mildly. Most places, when ordering to go, separate the meat from the soup so you can cook the meat in the hot soup when you get home. This was the first time I ever experienced a place fully cooking the meat in the soup already before I assembled it. I'm assuming they did that because it was old meat. I'm always wary of places with such an extensive menu. it's really hard to do every dish well. Which means you have a handful of good dishes and most of the dishes aren't very good. I would just stick with the most popular dishes, which is probably PHO and their own vermicelli noodle bowls I ordered the Banh hoi dish. This noodle is very difficult to get the right texture. You soak it one minute too long and it becomes mushy. it was too mushy plus it's supposed to be spread with a thick layer of scallion oil which it lacked. the water that came with the rice paper was too hot. You end up cooking the rice paper. Send a textures and flavors was all wrong. My husband had the shaking beef and he said was not good. read more

Saw this place on Phuc Map's vlog on YouTube thanks to Ricky Ly! The Bun Bo Hue was recommended and said to be pretty authentic. So we had to go! This is a very nice restaurant and not a "noodle shop" if you know what I mean. I really liked the paintings on the wall. Also they grow papayas in their front lawn so you know you are getting ultra fresh papaya! I wonder if they grow anything else there. Service was perfect. Spring rolls (you get 2) came out immediately and then the soups 5 minutes later. The spring rolls were standard as was the dipping sauce. They brought out a huge plate of toppings. Look at it! Tons of fresh everything. Hard to see but a huge pile of bean sprouts is below the greenery. The pho broth was very good. Definitely can't go wrong with the pho here. Totally solid. I went for the spicy bun bo hue. Wow! The broth has a nice bite to it without being overpowering. They do have the standard siracha, hoisin, and chili sauce on the table but I opted to eat it as is. I read that true authentic would have a side of fresh chili sauce but none here. I used a little lime but it really didn't need it. One thing I love over pho is the noodles are thick like spaghetti. Next it had a TON of beef and pork in it. Waaaay more than most places give you. The beef was a bit fatty which I don't like but I could eat around some of the big chunks. I know some people love it as is. It also comes with a very unique pork sausage which is kind of spongy. I also read that authentic will have some congealed blood cubes but none here. Don't know if you can order it with. Overall, we really enjoyed Pho Vinh. Definitely deserves a spot in the top tier for soups. Have to try some entrees next! read more

Pho Vinh has been an Orlando staple for many years and was my "go to" spot when I use to live near Colonialtown. Now, since I live a bit further away I don't get to go as often anymore but had a chance to stop by for lunch this past week. After a full year hiatus...the food was just as good as I remembered. Located near the intersection of Primrose and Colonial Dr this restaurant is easily spotted from the road by their huge sign display. Parking can be found in the back and there is a plentiful amount of spaces. Upon entering, you are welcomed with warm colors and Vietnamese inspired decor along the walls. We were greeted and seated almost immediately. For food we opted for the Banh Xeo (Vietnamese crepe), pho, and bun bo hue (spicy beef noodle soup). Since it wasn't as busy during that time... our food arrived almost immediately. All the food we ordered was delicious! The broth of the pho and bun bo hue reminded me so much of how my mom makes it. It was super flavorful and rich, which really hit the spot. The banh xeo was probably my favorite, it came out very crispy with a whole garden of fresh herbs which is my favorite part. Needless to say that we ate and left no crumbs lol. Our server was very attentive and make sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit! The prices were not bad, a tad bit higher then other Vietnamese restaurants.... but hey you're definitely paying for quality so I did not mind. I've been the Pho Vinh many times. Most of the time, when I go, I get either one of the pho or rice vermicelli dishes. On this most recent trip, I made the effort to try something on the menu that I have never tried. I wound up with #73 bun cari ga, the chicken curry with rice vermicelli. The curry tasted very good with the addition of coconut milk, and I was surprised how good sweet potatoes went with the dish. After growing up near San Jose -- home to some of the best Vietnamese food outside of Vietnam -- Pho Vinh stands on evening footing to what you'll find in San Jose. Banh Xeo is perfectly crispy and reminds me of what I ate at home growing up. Bo Tai Chanh is citriusy and a carnivore's delight. I love the pho. Simple as that. I usually go for their big bowl Xe Lua and it's the best option if you're starving. I visit from out of town but whenever I'm here, I will always come here at least once a visit. I started coming year over 10 years ago, and it always solves my ailments LOL it brings me back to life after I've been sick, hungover, or suffering from an upset stomach. #73 Chicken Curry Pho Vinh Yesterday I asked for recommendations for Pho Vinh off of Colonial Drive. Facebook recommended the Chicken Curry. At this point anything this group recommends.. This review's been a long time coming, because for years now, I've considered this place to serve the king of all pho in Orlando. Now, if you're from Orlando, you know that's a pretty big statement. There's lots of Vietnamese food here, and lots and lots of pho. So the battle is always on to see who has the best. But let's go ahead and lay it out there. Pho Vinh serves the best pho in town. (Ahn Hong close second.) They also serve other delicious menu items and can be considered a very tasteful, sort-of-elegant Vietnamese restaurant compared to the more hustle-and-bustle kind of places like Pho 88 and Little Saigon - both of which are designed to handle massive lunch crowds. Pho Vinh, however, is tucked away in a poorly landscaped little restaurant building on Primrose, packed in the middle of a little triad of between Il Pescatore and Pho Hua. It's really kind of off the beaten path and is almost on the eastern edge of the neighborhood known as Colonial Town. But that's ok, it's still close to downtown and is worthy of a visit. On this occasion, I ordered the pho with rare steak, tendon, tripe and flank steak. The portion is huge of course, with fresh greens, very tasty and fresh meats and other animal parts, and the best pho broth in town. The summer rolls, which are a must-do appetizer at any Vietnamese restaurant, are super yums, too. Well made and served with a perfect peanut sauce. One more interesting detail about this place. The decor is consistent throughout, and by that I mean consistently odd. As every painting on the walls in the place, are all about the same size, appearing to be hand painted originals, and all feature som mellow dramatic scene of an Asian woman engaged in some sort of passive activity. Truly weird. But, it's better than giant TVs everywhere - which most restaurants are defaulting to these days. Anyway, best pho in town. And that's worthy of 5 stars. read more

This was our first time visiting Pho Vinh, and we really enjoyed it! We went with a group of friends on a Tuesday evening and had no problem getting a table for 8. This is a no frills, family-owned Vietnamese restaurant, and we were definitely the loudest bunch in there. I was really impressed by how much flavor all of their dishes have. To be honest, I wasn't super in the mood for anything soupy/brothy at that time (I know, then why would I go to a pho place?!), but they actually have a ton of other great noodle and rice dish options as well. We started with the fried wontons -- crispy, amazing goodness and the meat inside was seasoned so well. For my main entree, I got the #115 Bún Chả Giò Thịt Nướng (Rice vermicelli with charbroiled pork and spring rolls.) The pork was lean and thinly sliced (just the way I like it) and packed with flavor. I added some spice and sauces to my vermicelli noodles just to jazz them up a bit. There was a good mix of vegetables and a crispy spring roll in the bowl as well -- I ate it all and it was very satisfying. I did get a little slurp of the broth in the coconut curry chicken soup and WOW, it's magical -- definitely getting that next time when I'm in more of a soup mood. The service was quick and efficient, and they didn't seem to mind that we stayed to hang out long after our meal was done just chatting (they weren't busy at that time). They also allow you to bring in your own wine to drink with your dinner (there may be a small corkage fee, but I'm not sure). Parking is convenient in the back of the building, and you can enter the restaurant through the back as well. With more chilly days approaching, I think we'll definitely be back to cozy up with some hot soup soon! read more
