Yes, I'm uncomfortably full now but due entirely to my lack of discipline . The sandwich shocked me how good it was. We used to love Quizno's toasted subs but they have been long gone. I was excited to see that there's a Potbelly here in the Orlando area. I used to visit Potbelly often when I spent time in Chicago and always enjoyed it, so I was looking forward to trying this location. I stopped in after doing some shopping and placed my order online so it would be ready by the time I finished. I ordered the chicken club sandwich and a Dream Bar. It was after 8 p.m. on a Saturday, and the restaurant was pretty much empty. My order was ready ahead of the quoted pickup time, which I appreciated. However, the sandwich didn't quite live up to what I remember. The bread didn't taste as fresh as I expected, and the sandwich was lukewarm instead of warm and toasty like I've experienced at other locations. The Dream Bar was also not quite what I remembered. It didn't have the same richness or taste that made it a favorite for me in the past. I'm not sure if the time of day impacted the quality, but the overall experience just didn't match the Potbelly I remember from Chicago. I was in the area for a show and decided to give this place a try. I was one of the only customers in there when going in on a Friday around 6:00 p.m. So the service was really quick. I did have to make some alterations to my sandwich and salad but they were able to accommodate me. Personally, I'm not a big fan of toasted sandwiches so if I came back I would definitely ask for it not toasted. I didn't know they toasted all of their sandwiches. They're pretty good so far as retail chain sub shops go. I guess they're somewhere near the top of the list not including Wawa or Publix opposite Subway. I really like the bread in all its crispy chewy warm glory and those hot peppers tho! Wowee!! ...the meats, however, tend to blend into the bread and symphony of condiments marginalizing their flavor. While you could double the meat, you shouldn't have to for the money and the sandwich doesn't really need it; just more than what's sufficiently sufficient. Weeknight. 8:45pm. Super quiet. We loved it. Hubs and I are the only patrons in restaurant. In a super huge plaza. Got the Five Below, Starbucks, Hobby lobby. Bunch of stores. Asked one of the guys that worked there what's a hit. He suggested some. We got something for us and a meatball sub to go. Can't comment on that, that one isn't for us. We've heard good things about the meatball sammie though. I had the roast beef on white. Hubs and the Build a Wreck on white also. He killed his sandwich. I feel like this place is a fictitious place in a Harry Potter movie or something. It has an old-timey vibe and the decor is a bit odd. The decor is interesting and I was just waiting for a magical creature to appear and offer me wooden nickels for my cookie bag full of lettuce (more on that later). They have a bunch of different sandwiches and I figured I'd start with "A Wreck" which had 4 meats and my choice of toppings. I was disappointed with the amount of meat on the sub based on the description. I was expecting something more gargantuan like, but it was like on layer of each. The sub was good but they forgot to put lettuce on it, so I had to ask for some from the counter, which they put in a bag used for cookies. They also put way too much mayo on the sub. My hands were covered in it... I joined their rewards club before I went in and with my first purchase, I earned a free sandwich. Pretty good deal to start off. I was out shopping and I decided to stop and try this place for a quick lunch. The food was mediocre. They serve Soups, salads and sandwiches. I tried the pick a pair deal and got the steakhouse beef sandwich and a side of chili. The sandwich lacked flavor. For $12 I expected more flavor depth for sure. This sandwich is made with a horseradish aïoli and bleu cheese crumbles however, I never tasted that on my sandwich. It just tasted like blue cheese. The service was great. The person who took my order was patient as I looked over the menu since it was my first time. Same with the cashier they were kind enough to explain to me the perks system and how I would receive a free sandwich on my next visit. The ambiance also was really nice. I just ate lunch at Potbelly Sandwich shop in the colonial Plaza. I've never eaten there before. I went in and the atmosphere was really nice and the place looked very clean. I got up to the counter and I ordered the original prime rib steak sandwich. I didn't order any extra toppings. I ordered it exactly the way it came. And the sandwich did not disappoint. It was delicious! The only disappointing part was with my iced tea. The iced tea was warm, which is normally a good thing because that means it was freshly brewed that morning. The downside was their ice machine was empty so I had to drink my iced tea warm. It was delicious tea . Just disappointing when you were expecting iced tea and it's warm. I asked them if someone could refill the ice machine and I was eventually told that they had to order more ice and it should be delivered soon. I was disappointed, but said that's fine and went back to my table. A couple minutes later one of the girls came from behind the counter and offered me a bottle of cold iced tea. I told her that was not necessary, but she went and got it for me anyway. That was very kind of her! I wish I had gotten her name because she was a very kind and helpful girl. We got a side of Mac and cheese and also a side of chili. Separate, the sides are average tasting... but we mixed them together, and it was the bomb diggity. I had a potbelly sandwich in Washington DC about 10 years ago and was excited to see that the chain has finally marched all the way south to the sunshine state! Everything inside is as fresh and new as the buns. Friendly service too. The chain is known for the "wreck" sandwich, but I love the meatball and pizza subs during our one chilly winter month of January. I've heard about this chain for years. Now we have one in Orlando (which I stumbled on through Yelp - yay Yelp!!). So, obviously, first time in. Some of the attitude and unfamiliarity with products and process among the staff can be overlooked because it's all new for them as well. Things that I notice at almost every fast food place - and I don't consider Potbelly fast food. - were prevalent in the line workers' attitudes. Things like not looking up at you and muttering under their breath, "what's your toppings?" Just felt very McDonalds or Popeye's employees saying, "What's your side." I dislike it in those establishments and hope the disdain for customers it conveys - at least to me - will be eradicated before it takes root. Enough of the negative rankings of an old man. Most was good and I gave the place 5 stars. I could see management was actively training and engaged. The restaurant is clean and boasts a very fun decor. The layout is functional and d easy to navigate from entry to order to payment to food delivery. The food is top notch. Sandwiches come in 3 sizes. Regular was fine for me. I ordered 3 different sandwiches: meatball (pork and beef blend recipe), chicken club made with grilled chicken breast, not deli sliced and the signature "A Wreck" - a glorious blend of meats, cheese and toppings you won't soon forget. The broccoli cheddar soup as well as the loaded baked potato soup were a little bland, but a little added table salt and pepper kicked them right up to great. And the vanilla shake was perfect and is delivered topped with a signature butter cookie that is nostalgic of the simple cookies we who are old enough recall from nap time in nursery school. After calling the store, the guy on the phone said that he would make a note and have his manager call me back to initiate the refund, as the food was not at the right temperature and items were missing. After 4 days I never heard back, so I called again. I spoke with a different woman who is a manager, and she said her boss was still looking into it. And we should wait a couple of more days. I've been hearing good things about Potbelly Sandwich Works and decided to give it a go for lunch today. People who are familiar with this chain seem to love it and it was definitely poppin' during lunch time. I've been craving a good toasted sub lately and the Italian with their signature hot peppers was on my radar. I decided to order the Big size to share with my husband and asked for extra hot peppers on the side since my husband doesn't really eat them. Sadly, when I got home I realized I did not receive any peppers at all in my order. I think they would have made a big difference since I was really looking forward to that tanginess, but the sandwich on its own was pretty lackluster. The "big" size was also not very big at all and it costs nearly $14. I added chips & a fountain drink to make it a meal, which made the total almost $22 with tip. I do like that they carry all the different flavors of Zapp's chips (we love the Voodoo flavor). Overall, it doesn't beat the quality and value of a Pub sub for me which is half the price, but it's definitely better than Subway.
