Surprised as many times as I have been to this Jinya Ramen Bar in Thornton Park that I have never reviewed it. So here it goes. To start, they have a great Happy Hour 3-6 pm with a limited menu, but Sapporo drafts and local brews are under $5 each. That is a win right there. They also have beer and Sake flights. My Go to here is the Tonkotsu Black Ramen, but I have had the others and never a bad experience. There is something really welcoming about Jinya. I suspect they treat there staff well and hire the right people. Everytime I am here I feel like they are over staffed, but there are plenty of tables inside and out in this intimate venue. My two favorite happy hour dishes are the Salmon Pke Tacos and the Crispy Chicken. I used to live on Lake Eola Park and I so miss coming here. Glad I stumbled in here today. read more

The presentation of the food online is what initially drew me to this restaurant. I had the chance to try one of the vegan ramen options and added an egg to the dish. The tofu was very soft and not my favorite in terms of flavor, but everything else in the Spicy Creamy V Ramen was delicious. I also tried the Impossible meat bao, but the texture of the meat was a bit too firm or overcooked for my liking, especially paired with the soft bao bun. That said, I would definitely come back to try other items on the menu, as there are so many options to choose from. Our server, Carl, was very friendly and attentive. We had such a great experience here! Everything we ordered was genuinely delicious and made for a really enjoyable meal. We started with the pork gyoza, which were perfectly cooked with amazing flavor, and the bao bun, which was soft, fresh, and honestly one of my favorite bites of the night. This is my absolute favorite ramen spot! The chicken wonton ramen is incredible, and I especially love the seasoning sauce they serve on the side it adds so much flavor. They also recently launched a rewards program with some great perks, like a free mochi when you sign up or leave a review. My only critique would be the seating. The chairs aren't very comfortable for sitting a while, and I'd honestly love to hang out longer if there were options with better back support. Walked into this fast paced, tightly packed ramen bar at the perfect time on a Saturday. Got in just before Happy Hour came to a close and before the rush of people behind us. The Happy Hour menu had a few bites to choose from so we ordered the bun and fried chicken just to give them a try. Both were good. Also ordered the Gyoza, which was perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. Our original ramen order was the Tam Tam, but they were out, so we ended up with the Spicy Chicken Ramen instead. My only complaint is the amount of protein in the ramen seemed like a very small portion. Not even half a chicken breast goes into each bowl. That being said, was the chicken incredibly tender? Yes. Just wish there was a little bit more for the money. All in all, it was a cool experience and I'm sure I'll be back. read more

The flavors were so savory, thick pieces of tender pork, yummy crispy onions, and spices with a whole egg that was next level good! The original Tonkatsu was just as amazing and flavorful. Went in for a Saturday evening dinner and was pleasantly surprised with how quickly we got a seat. The entrance is extremely cramped and crowded, and the layout does not make sense given the floorplan. After a little awkward shuffle around the host stand, we got seated by the dining area at a high top. The wait staff are friendly and helpful, and we wanted the cucumber salad but unfortunately they were out. We got edamame instead which was equally good. We got the limited edition creamy garlic tonkotsu and the birria ramen. Both were AMAZING and so delicious! I got the Sunshine Mule which was impeccable. The featured dessert is the delicate and creamy crepe which we loved. Overall, our waitress was a little slow getting back to us towards the end of the meal, but the food is always consistently fresh and delicious at Jinya and the atmosphere is fun. This is probably my favorite ramen place in Orlando. They have great quality, fresh ingredients and it always hits so good. Side note: This is a great place to kick off an evening in downtown Orlando before going out drinking; provides a solid, delicious meal to coat the stomach ;) They even have a full bar with good happy hour deals if you want to start there. My go-to here is the Spicy Chicken Ramen. I've had this probably 3 times and haven't been able to bring myself to try anything different; it's that good. If you're a spicy fan, this is amazing; extremely flavorful and there are sauces they provide that you can add for some extra spice and/or flavor. I also recommending adding the fresh garlic as it's free and comes with a grinder to freshly mince some garlic into your ramen. I've never had to wait here and the service is always quick, with food coming out very shortly after ordering, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. Enjoyed this restaurant! We walked from Lake Eola and were almost immediately seated on a Sunday afternoon. The staff was very friendly from the hostess to our server and various staff walking around were smiling and briefly chatting with one another. The place was quite busy with a steady amount of take out orders and people dining in. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The menu has a good selection with salads, small plate appetizers, rice bowls and a variety of ramen choices and some desserts. We ordered a large spicy chicken appetizer that was served hot and had great flavor. I ordered spicy chicken ramen with mushrooms, a seasoned egg and bok choy as sides. The ramen was flavorful and of course too much too eat. The sides were literally on the side but it was odd that the bok choy was very cold. It seemed it might have been frozen so it would have been good if it had been heated up and along with the mushroons added to the ramen. I also tried the lychee matches lemonade that was refreshing. They also have a good food happy hour. The "tacos" aren't actually tacos, just small pieces of wontona fried to look like tacos and stuffed with tuna/salmon, etc. Birria ramen was a solid 8/9. This is my first time going to the restaurant in the Thornton Park area. The facility is a bit quaint, but still bigger for the actual area itself. Unfortunately, there are no reservations that are taken at this restaurant, but we were able to come early enough before rush-hour. The hostess was not welcoming and they advised that half your party needs to be present in order to be seated. One seated, we were not welcomed by our waitress. We also we're not provided her name either. We came for the Tuesday Valentine's Day deal, which the waitress was not aware of so we had to pull up the flyer. However, outside of that, all of this Ramen and the drinks and food we ordered were very, very delicious my compliments to the chef. One of the biggest beats we have is what is the best Ramen spot in Orlando and if you're a lover of veggies like I am, the answer is none other than Jinya. I'm gonna give you a pro tip and order from the secret menu which is the sprouting up Ramen. This is the reason why I now love brussels sprouts. I used to not touch the stuff but now they have taught me to love them like no other. The Ramen is cooked to perfection in a rich broth and it's filled with amazing toppings. You do have to ask for it, but the staff will usually take care of you and they're always helpful with letting you know what secret items are available. But shhh it's our secret. I've never had a problem with getting seating at their restaurant and it's always a top-notch service. I ask for the fresh garlic on the side and it adds a little kick to every meal for me. The broth in both bowls was absolutely incredible and really stole the show. The noodles may have been slightly undercooked, but it didn't take away from how good the dishes were overall. My Fiance says the fried chicken was a 10/10 and I loved the jalapeño on the crispy rice tuna. We also loved being able to sit outside and enjoy the meal with our dog. I stopped in with a friend while finishing a stroll at lake Eola and it just so happened to be happy hour. I was sad that I had already eaten because their happy hour menu is one to take advantage of! The bartender was the sweetest and prepared a delicious espresso martini for us. The place wasn't too busy and we weren't in a big rush to leave so even though the service was a little on the slower side, it wasn't a big bother. The restaurant itself has indoor and patio seating along with a few TVs at the bar. The bathrooms are single stalls and designated by gender so during busier times a line may form. Parking can be tricky since there isn't a designated lot or garage. You can pay for parking nearby or, if you're lucky, some street parking not too far away! The ramen noodles itself were also just okay. Beautiful space. Looked the bar inside the restaurant too. People complain about the parking on other yelp reviews. There are a ton of residential parking like 2 blocks away (2-3 blocks in front of the store front). Theres no direct parking on the block of the restaurant, but there are a ton of stuff if you just walk 2-3 blocks. Don't let that deter you from coming here. read more

I can confidently that JINYA Ramen Bar is one of my favorite ramen places in the Orlando area! They have your savory, classic options along with some welcomed, new selections that push the boundaries on what you would call "ramen." I almost always get Tonkatsu Black Ramen whenever I go out to some ramen place but decided to try something a little different when I went to JINYA. I ordered their Yuzu Shio Delight which had a nice, refreshing citrus flavor that brightened up the broth and the dish as a whole. I had never tried something like that in ramen and was different from the usual garlicy flavor found in a Tonkatsu Black. That being said, my dad did order their Tonkatsu Black and it was still very delicious, exactly what I expect. My brother also ordered something even more out there...the chef's special: Birria Ramen. The ramen was a fusion of Mexican and Japanese elements, keeping the ramen noodles but substituting the normal toppings and components from a traditional ramen such as mushrooms and pork with things such as diced red onions and cilantro. The broth and meat had that signature birria flavor which was an interesting yet flavorful combination combined with the traditional ramen noodles. Although I thought this special was tasty and definitely worth a try, I still would stick with the classic flavors found in your traditional ramen such as a tonkatsu just because I think all the elements and flavors combine and meld together more cohesively. If you go to JINYA, do yourself a favor and PLEASE order their Crispy Chicken small plate/appetizer. It is literally so crunchy yet so juicy and flavorful that it's to die for. It also works well with their Matcha Lychee Lemonade which is a perfect balance between lychee and lemonade, not too tart like some lemonades could be but still refreshing with that nice added lychee flavor! My spouse and I always go to Jinya Ramen when we're craving delicious ramen. This time we brought our Sunday golf group and friends. There were 13 of us. Our server was Chris. Jinya Ramen has never disappointed us and we love bringing friends there for the experience and for them to really know what ramen is supposed to taste like unlike instant ramen. First of all, our server Chris was fantastic. For as many of us as there were he didn't miss a beat in providing great service. I normally order the Spicy Umami Miso Ramen, then I switched to the Yuzu Shio Ramen. Both are excellent. Last Sunday I tried the Birria ramen with thin noodles. I have to say that I think I found my new favorite ramen. That Birria beef's flavor was so good and the broth just out of this world. Everyone enjoyed their meal. For having 12 people in my party, I was able to hear everyone. This was amazing because I was just at a restaurant last night and there were only 4 of us and I couldn't hear that people talking at our table. I definitely recommend Jinya Ramen. If you've never been, you have to try it. Be prepared to be welcomed in Japanese "irashai!". When first heard it, we thought they were saying, "fish eye!" Usually we have a great experience at Jinya, however this past Sunday our group of 16 were in the restaurant for 2.5 hours! While I understand a large group like that will take longer to serve our service this time was not as good as it has been in the past. We couldn't help but notice other tables around us who came in later than us were served before us and the tables were turned at least twice before we got our food! If the restaurant was busier we could almost understand the delay however it wasn't and there were at least three other servers. One kept coming past our table but never stopped. The food was delicious as always and if you're looking for a good ramen place this is the place to get it. The restaurant is in a good location and usually welcoming. I'm sure we'll be back again and hopefully if we scale down the number of people the service will be better. Packed with flavor and they have a ton of toppings available so you can customize your order. I've had JINYA ramen before for takeout and figured it be better to try it in person. We ordered the 10 piece crispy chicken to start and they were fried perfectly with some salt and spice. I also ordered the premium red tonkotsu ramen at a level 6 spice and wow, it was spicy. The noodles were fine and the broth was just okay. The chashu was very tasty and complemented the dish nicely. The portion was generous as well! The service was wonderful and our server was nice and were prompt on refilling our waters.
