I left in tears and unable to finish with wax all over my skin still. I'm not sure if it's the type of wax used, but it was taking 4-6 rips with each application to remove the wax, whereas everywhere else I've been it's only ever taken 1-2 tries to remove all of the soft wax applied to one area. Technician was very apologetic and kind but I would definitely not recommend this place for a wax.

Super terrified that I would be doing something to my face and then be stuck with it if I did not like it. I almost never wear make up either so having it look extremely natural was also critical factor for me. I researched everybody within a 30 miles radius of San Francisco studied all of their before and after pictures. Studied the work of eyebrow artists all over the country in fact. In Los Angeles and New York as well because I travel to both of those places frequently enough. Ellie's work stood out above everyone else's in the country. Primarily because she doesn't just paste a cookie cutter eyebrow stencil on your face and do the exact same thing for everyone. She studies your face, the eyebrow bones and takes into account your age, your skin color and hair color. She designs an eyebrow that is meant for your face. So I kept looking at her page on Yelp and then on Instagram over and over wondering if I should go through with it. I've never had any tattoos before just piercings. Finally I gathered up the courage and called to book my appointment. Kristin is super booked (for a good reason obvs) so it was made a few months out. That day finally came and I honestly don't remember half of it because I was so nervous. This is a permanent thing going on my face! MY FACE! But once I was in the room with her and she drew on a few different shapes for me I calmed down a whole lot. She obviously knows what she's doing and just her drawing them on made me realize that she will give me the most perfect eyebrows. Yes it hurts I won't lie. Especially the (free) touch up. That was the worst for me but they look better than ever. I wake up every morning and don't have to do anything with my eyebrows because they're already perfect! Do you know how much I cried when I got home and saw that I actually had eyebrows?!?! I used to spend at least 20-30 mins every morning trying to make my nonexistent eyebrows match with powder or pencil. I trusted Arina with my eyelids and walked away with a disaster: One eye is tattooed, and the other isn't. So now I have permanent makeup on one eye and nothing on the other -- the exact opposite of the effortless look I paid good money for. The anti-muse. When I pointed this out, on the table and in text, Arina handed me $200 and told me to go elsewhere. She refused to fix her own work. Now I'm stuck wearing makeup every single day, or else I look like a one eyed monster Picasso. And now I am hunting for another artist willing to guess the color she used -- because she offered zero help, zero documentation, and zero accountability. And I will have to pay all over again. No reputable artist wants to correct someone else's botched job. Only Arina has the history, and she walked away the moment she realized she made a mistake. Do yourself a favor: go somewhere else. Or just don't do it! Now I wish I had the luxury of having no make up on. Plus it's extremely painful. I have had other cosmetic tattoos, and none this painful (or botched).
