This is why I could not give a 5 Star Review. The bunkers are hard and no fluffy sand, but most are playable. Golfers, this is a great course to challenge your game! The best part was the staff. Kevin the bartender Friday night was good. We left at 630 for a 2 hour drive so we could have breakfast at Copper Valley restaurant. They don't serve breakfast on Thursdays. We will take the blame for that as we assumed a golf resort would serve breakfast. Then we played at 11 really hot and windy behind a group that took 5 hours but the worst part was on a hole that was a dog leg I had a blind shot to the green. We waited all day until the group was way off the green to hit. I pulled my 8 iron left of the green and landed about 10 yards from the group in their cart. The member got out of his cart picked my ball up and threw it in the weeds. Never seen that before. We finished and had a beer and went to out 2 bedroom condo. We had 2. Our friends condo had no air conditioning and were miserable all night and decided not to play the 2nd day. So our twosome went over to get a quick breakfast before our tee time at 8. No luck breakfast not served until 8. All in all we decided that $500 would be better spent elsewhere. By the way we had dinner and it was average but expensive. My recommendation is pass on Copper Valley and go somewhere else.

We were visiting Angels Camp for the weekend, and with the sun out, we knew we had to get a round…read morein at Greenhorn Creek. The course itself is quite challenging due to the tight fairways and fast greens. Outside of the bunkers, the course is pretty well maintained, even during the winter months. Lots of the par 5s are reachable in 2, some long challenging par 4s, and unique par 3s that are short but tough. During the winter months, they do a 10AM shotgun style play, which means all groups start on different holes and the same time. We finished in under 4.5 hours, played a decent pace throughout the round. The morning of our round there was a frost delay, and they sent a text to let us know ahead of time which was nice. We play here a few times a year, mostly in the spring/summer where it can get really hot. Playing in the spring/summer is nice here because a lot of times it's not super busy, and the course plays quick. They have a solid driving range and putting greens for practice. Overall, love playing here, never a bad time, and is always a challenging course to test your golf skills.
