Only because after the 1st time, the girl didn't work there anymore and I thought I would try someone different at Serene. The service is a lash lift and tint. The results were great the first time, however the last two times, I wasn't overly impressed.I thought maybe it was just the 2nd time or the tech and would try again with someone else, but that didn't help. The girls who did my lashes are nice and friendly, it's the service the 2nd and 3rd time that wasn't great. My lashes I could see that some were missed on the tint (not dyed black) and some lashes, especially outer corner were not lifted, so it did look strange that some were done and the rest not? I paid and left and then examied in my car since the lighting was allot better (the lighting in the rooms are very dim) and noticed some lashes were missed. I was tempted to go back in and mention it but honestly the girls at the front desk weren't overly friendly and didn't want the grief from them since they didn't seem like the customer service driven type. I did wait a few days and went somewhere else to get them re-tinted since they were not able to do a lift till they grew out. I don't think I will give this place a 4th chance since the last two times the service wasn't that great and I wasn't happy with the results, especially since I had to go somewhere else to get it fixed.

For those who don't know what a Thai massage is, you're twisted and pulled and placed in different stretches where the masseuse will put various pressure to help you stretch and relief more. I'm fairly flexible myself and have a high pain tolerance - yet I still grunted once or twice as there were some unexpected bends! Anyways, the whole experience was very positive. I went back to the Phoenix nail salon on January 9th and said I had my nails done a week ago and 4 nails broke! I girl said she would fix. After repairing the 4 nails and re gel polishing them she charged me 15$!!! I thought that was ridiculous! I explained that they had only been done maybe a week ago and not just 1 broke but 4 did!! They called the owner of Phoenix nails and she said to me that because it was a week Ago that she couldn't do anything! I said if I was made to pay the 15$ that I wouldn't be back, she said that was fine. She didn't even care. I have been going there since they opened the original Evanston nails and loved the work that was done on my nails, until the new owners took over. I have not been pleased, but hoped that things would get better.... Well I was wrong. After I had those 4 nails repaired I had 2 more break.... I've gotten reddish hI-lights REPEATEDLY. Told my hair just lifts warm. I had a long time, 19+ years, stylist. I changed to a younger funkier stylist. 2x I didn't get what I wanted. I was very sad. I was leaving for holiday in a few weeks and really wanted my hair "did" for it. I asked a friend who she goes to cuz her hair is magnificent, she said Leah was her girl. Leah was booked the friendly receptionist suggested Sam and I could get in the next day. I booked then almost canceled. I was terrified of getting something ugly. I went even though I was so scared. I arrived 20 minutes early. The receptionist greeted me and offered a hot cuppa coffee and shortly after Sam came and got me. I showed him a few, many lol, pics on my Pinterest and he said yes we can do that. Not today but we'll get started. I thought oh great this song and dance again. I've heard this !!! He said I see a icy blonde and get rid of the uneven black... Balance it out. Within 45 minutes I was under the drier and then the sink, waiting for my hair to process and lift. The sink had a foot rest and was THE most comfy wash chair I'd ever been in. Sam explained everything he did along the way. He cut my hair and taught the receptionist how he does layers. He was kind and patient with her. Asking questions about her schooling and being so supportive and enthusiastic about her progress. Sam cut my hair and left it longer than I wanted but it looked AWESOME!!!! He trimmed a tad more, blew it dry then had the receptionist curl my hair. She was so sweet. Talkative and kind. She took me outside to take pics and then cashed me out. Sam came over to wish me well and thank me for my business. I took my own pics and sent them to my hubby and daughter. They both loved my hair and even commented that it's NEVER looked so good. I will most definitely be back and will tell everyone to go there !!!!!

I have been looking for a hairdresser for a couple of years after coming to Calgary. I have asked women on the streets if I thought their cuts were done nicely. Then I would go and check the salons spending lots of money and having one failure after another. Sometimes the I would go to the same place for 2-3 times until they ruin my hair or make a fatal mistake in cutting. And then repeat ad nauseum. Finally I got lucky. I saw a lady with a great haircut, I made a compliment, she said she gets great comments about her hair every time, I got the address and the name. It was early March and I had to wait for two weeks to get an appointment. " He must be popular"- I said to the receptionist. "Oh, yes!"-she said with pride in her voice. Sam is great. He is never pushy. He will ask what you want but I prefer to ask _him_ what is the best for my hair. His salon carries a line of products but he never up-sells. And the products work, too. Thank God for Jocelyn! I went to see her for a massage one day and she genuinely cared about my pain and she did a casual assessment to try to locate the cause of my pain. She is the strongest and best massage therapist I have ever got. She urged me to try chiropractic care again with Dr Brad. In my first session with him he did a full assessment with proper diagnostic testing and he confirmed what Jocelyn thought it was. With regular appointments with Dr Brad my pain was close to gone in 3 weeks. I have continued to see the physiotherapy team which includes Alexis and Ankit. The salon is within walking distance from my home. I usually get the mani & pedi with existing shellac removal for 55$ . Today I was charged 120$ for having the exact same service I do normally. It wasn't sitting well with me so I decided to go back to the salon to ask why I charged so much this time around. She then informed me it was because I had chosen a metallic colour. I wasn't told ahead of time that they would be charging me 120$ . I didn't think to ask for a quote ahead of time because I have had the same service each time I visited the salon. I had also gotten a gift card for a friend & I tipped so it ended up over $200. I have had designs done on my nails in this salon previously & I still was never charged that much. I was then told by the male worker not to come back to the salon. Which is very disappointing. Considering my years of business with them.
