Although Dr Kim is excellent, his office is NOT well run. I was billed for a service I was told I would not be, I called and "discussed" with the office manager who was quite condescending with poor customer service skills, and 7 months later I get a bill that included the charge yet again ($400). There were other errors in the bill as well that did not match the EOBs. I was also told that anesthesia would be covered by my two insurances. The original estimate they provided was incorrect and they told me I should have called and checked (however they are contracted with those insurance companies). Why even provide an estimate if it is not accurate? (see other reviews about this) I don't care how good a doctor is, if their office and billing is very difficult to deal with, I'm going somewhere else. I hope Dr Kim sees this review so he can address the issues in his front office. He needs to reconsider his choice of Office Managers. How many people don't check their bills and just pay what they are told? read more

Dr. Kim was amazing. I was referred to him by my dentist, and I had a lot of doubts because this would be my first time getting any kind of surgery done on me. I had to get 7 teeth in total removed, and it seemed like such a scary and long process. But Dr. Kim was so kind and understanding, his energy calmed me right down. He was extremely funny, and even more, a great surgeon. One of my tooth's roots was severely hooked, and he said there'd be a 50/50 chance of it hooking on a nerve during the extraction, resulting in that side of my jaw going numb. He said he'd do everything in his power to avoid that outcome... And it was successful. Before I knew it, the procedure was done, and I was being sent home to recover. Took my 88 year old Mom there to have a tooth pulled. Her appointment was at 11.. we arrived at 10:30 to get the paperwork done. She wasn't seen until 11:35 and when the Dr entered the room he told us that he might not be able to take the tooth out because his staff had to go to lunch at Noon.. and if they don't get lunch at Noon they 'get mad'! He then left the room to discuss the timeline with his staff. A few minutes later an employee from his office notified us that not only would it be $750 out of pocket but an additional $500 if we wanted a special care package to avoid a dry socket? What extra care package does a dentist have? At this time, despite multiple text messages and telephone calls to verify insurance, we were told his office does not take her insurance? The office manager simply said,"sorry, we will change our policy about verifying insurance." I talked to a few friends and they had heard not so positive reviews of the office as well... we should've asked for reviews before we went there and wasted half a day! Beware! read more

I was charged an extra $425 than the quote and since they had my card number ran the amount with no explanation except that I was getting a great deal since I was using insurance. I think customer service is important in this line of business, don't you? That is why I was truly disappointed when I called and was placed on a 30-minute hold, only to find out they had forgotten about me! I hung up and called back, and asked to be emailed some information. 20 minutes later, the email hadn't shown up in my inbox, so I had to call back AGAIN! Three phone calls and 1 hour for one simple X-ray image, YIKES! I feel terrible for those needing the information for a true emergency; imagine their frustration. On the third attempt, I finally got the image. So behold, it's not all jaw-breaking bad. What might be JAW-BREAKING is that I needed that X-ray because it seems like the practitioners at this facility may have DAMAGED MY NERVE during an operation I had a couple of years back..DOUBLE YIKES! My daughter had some wisdom teeth removed last week, and this was an experience we never expected. Obviously a little scared going in to this, but I cannot stress enough how pleased we are. Dr. Kim was so thorough with all his explanations, and what to expect with this procedure, that it immediately put us at ease. The office staff supporting him was incredible, always treated us with the utmost respect from entrance to exit. I am so disappointed with the service I received or not received at this office. I had an appointment, only to be left sitting in the waiting room for 1 hour. Never once did anyone say, "Hey we are running late." Thirty minutes after my scheduled appointment, I asked how much longer, and the young lady at the front desk went in the back to ask. I recently had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Day and this doctor is AMAZING and everything from the consultation to the procedure and even the recovery went extremely smooth. I was back on my feet and feeling good the next day. Since he's an M.D. He takes insurance and He does IV sedation so I didn't feel any pain and He's done over 26,000 sets of wisdom teeth so it only took him 1 minute per tooth! So if anyone needs to have there wisdom teeth removed, and I've heard he's amazing at dental implants, and treating TMJ symptoms anyways I highly suggest Dr. Reed Day at the Oral & Facial Surgery Center. read more

Dr Kim and the staff were professional and accommodating from beginning to end. I have a legitimate fear of surgery and being put under anesthesia. Dr Kim took the time to explain the surgery to me and walk me through the entire process. He took the time to reassure me that the surgery would be painless and quick. When I arrived for surgery I communicated to the staff that I was nervous and everyone went above and beyond to help me feel safe and comfortable. They made small talk with me and helped distract me while my blood was drawn and while I was being prepped for anesthesia. Before I knew it I was on my way home. The surgery was performed so precisely that I had minimal discomfort afterwards. Dr Kim was even kind enough to take my call after hours and talk me through any post op concerns. Highly skilled and professional. Excellent communication throughout. This Dr came highly recommended from a family member and I would recommend Dr Kim to anyone. Get a good surgeon. Bad customer service, front office lady needs to be trained on how to handle new patient questions

Dr. Day and at least some his staff need to take and pass a business ethics course. First, I needed to have a tooth pulled. I was told by a receptionist there that Dr. Day accepts my dental insurance from United Health Care. Dr. Day pulled my tooth on May 21, 2020. Then I got up from the dentist chair and went to were one's pays a bill. I was told by a woman behind the counter that my bill was $403.00. I said to her, I thought you took my insurance, She said something about sending a fax to my insurance company. I paid the $403.00. There are three main things to be said about my experience there. One, I was deceived by the receptionist there. Two, $403.00 is a very, very high price to charge a patient to have one tooth pulled. Three, I recommend to everyone out there, DO NOT GO TO DR. DAY TO HAVE A TOOTH PULLED UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF. read more

I came in to the office to have a consult for an extraction. The front office was very nice & friendly. There was quite a bit of a wait and my appointment was at 1:30 and I wasn't seated until around 2. I didn't have a problem with it but could see why someone wouldn't want to be waiting that long. I was taken back by an assistant named Demi, she was very sweet and explained that they needed a scan and walked me to my room. She went over everything in a lot of detail and answered all my many questions about grafting and implants. She was very knowledgeable and informative. Dr. Kim came in shortly after and took a look and went over a few things with me as well and left shortly after. He was only in the room for 5 minutes if not less. I wasn't too happy about that because if the assistant hadn't went over everything with me before and after he left the room I would have had a lot of questions. I just expected to be seen longer by the doctor. Regardless I proceeded to schedule. I went back for surgery and was again seen by Demi. She got me set up for surgery, started my IV and went over everything with me step by step and answered some post op questions I had. The doctor came in and I was sedated shortly after. When surgery was done the same assistant helped me into the wheelchair and took me over to my wife, and went over instructions with us, grabbed the doctor and wheeled me out. Later that evening I got a call from the office checing on me and it was Dr. Kim and an assistant. Once again the assistant did all the talking and the doctor ONLY said hello. While I do appreciate everything they did, I have to say that the doctor seemed very little involved and quite uninterested. I've had oral surgeries before and the pervious doctors went over post ops with me, answers questions and I got a personal private call, no assistant involved. It was just out of the norm for me to have an assistant call to check on me while the doctor said almost nothing. I spent a good amount of money because the treatment is not cheap and maybe spent a total of 5 minutes talking to the doctor? I didn't return for a post op visit because I was doing well but I imagine I would've only seen an assistant. Front staff were great, back assistants were also great and surgery went great! I would just recommend Dr. Kim to be more personal. read more

I just come out of surgery. I had impacted wisdom tooth and Dr. Reed was amazing. I had my other 2 wisdom tooth removed in Las Vegas and the experience there was awful. I consulted with many doctors because I wanted to remove my impacted tooth with ONLY LOCAL ANESTHESIA. I actually fainted in Las Vegas for my first surgery (the wisdom tooth on the right side). I was prepared to faint. I told the doctor too just to prepare him just in case. But after he extracted the bottom one I was still there, awake and fine. I felt ABSOLUTELY 0 PAIN. He was please with my great behavior too but I know big part of that is because of his firm and amazing hands. He knows what to do and he is very confident. I am really picky. I am so GLAD I choose him. I am here writing this while icing my face and thinking about Italy :) read more

THE REAL DEAL. NO JOKE. My dentist told me to get my wisdom pulled because it would be cheaper pulling it in the long run versus continually filling it. I'm thinking 'ya right I don't think so. Not doing that again.' I already had two pulled at a place they referred me to - Wisdoms. Had the whole right side pulled there and they're trying to send me back a third time for the left. I finally told them I didn't like them and to give me something else. The doctors at Wisdoms put this instrument in my mouth and continually smacked the shit out of it so it felt like I was getting punched in the face over and over again. Also, their shots hurt like hell. I had my upper-left wisdom pulled today. Dr. Day changed my whole perspective and life! Sitting in the chair expecting the worst and shaking to death, Dr. Day numbs my mouth. I didn't feel a thing because he had this vibrating shot thing-a-ma-jig. After a few minutes he comes in and pops out my upper left wisdom in a matter of 2-3 seconds. Literally. When's he done I couldn't believe it. I didn't feel a thing. It was done with such finesse and no face punching LMAO. 4 hours later, even after the numbness has worn off, I feel like I never had it done at all. I went back over to my dentists' office, American Family Dentistry in Scottsdale, and told them that Dr. Day needs to be a first choice referral and NOT Wisdoms. I don't care that I drove to Phoenix to see him it was definitely worth the extra mile. They told me they refer based on area but I told them that it's not about where you go but who you see. I'll never go to Wisdoms again the doctors suck and when I get my final lower left side pulled Dr. Day is definitely who I'm going to see. I told my sister to take her kids here when they get theirs done and I'll also be taking my daughter. You won't regret coming here. The whole procedure was thoroughly explained as well as the recovery and care for the patient was taken. It wasn't a punch you in your face here's your prescription and send you on your way deal. He made it very clear what he was going to do and he did it, I was having one bad wisdom tooth removed before I knew it it was removed with minimal discomfort after. As if dentist/oral surgeon visits weren't bad enough, this place is AWFUL. I had to go here to have the rest of my wisdom tooth extractions because they were heavily impacted and needed surgery, which my regular (and awesome) dentist, Dr. Steen, could not perform. First, imagine what you'd like a surgical center's office staff to be like. Sure, clinical, because they do the same thing every day. But how about professional? Professional would be nice. It was awful from the get-go. The front office lady looked very un-washed and her makeup looked a few days old. No "Hello" "How are you" or "How may I assist you", she just looked at us when we walked in and waited for us to say something. Then, "Sign in". There were some problems with payment and she not only was unbudging, she was straight up snooty about it. She actually asked if I wanted to remove the anesthesia to bring the cost down. UM, I'M GETTING ORAL SURGERY HERE, LADY. SOME DOCTOR IS GOING TO BE DRILLING INTO MY FACE AND SPATTERING BLOOD EVERYWHERE. I THINK I'LL KEEP THE ANESTHESIA. Do I look like the guy from A Million Little Pieces? The doctor himself was very arrogant and Tom Cruise-esque in Cocktail, rolled up sleeves and all. He had the audacity to call my other doctor (Dr. Steen, great guy, very gentle) names because my recovery time was longer. "Yeah, I'm really good at this, so it'll take ten minutes, tops. And you'll barely have any residual pain." Look where I am now, Dr. Day! At the same pain levels as when I was with Dr. Steen. Ass. Dr. Day's little nurse techs strapped me down in the chair and started talking about another tech rather disparagingly, as if I wasn't there. Helloooo, I'm about 6 inches from your face and am not yet sedated. Could you hold off on the shop talk until I'm off in dreamy dream land? Kthx. I would suggest you ask for a different referral if your dentist's office tries to send you here. Dr. Day and his staff are competent at best, but so rude and unprofessional, I'd rather go to Mexico than have anything else here. read more

I'm finding these other two reviews to be very strange considering the experience my fiance and I had here. I'm going to go out on a limb and say they've made some internal changes for the better, since the other reviews are 3 and 5 years old. This place is wonderful. The staff, the doctor - they are talented and completely comforting and warm individuals. My fiance is the biggest baby when it comes to anything medical (the poor guy needs Xanax just to have his blood drawn, so when it came time for him to have his wisdom teeth out, no ifs, ands, or buts about it, this is where we were recommended to go. I called our personal dentist and was informed that Dr. Day is one of the best oral surgeons in the state, which had me sold since my dentist (Dr. Mow) is pretty awesome. Not only were they able to put my fiance at ease, but surgery was completed within 15 minutes, everything went smoothly, and after we returned home they were completely available for any questions we had. I would definitely recommend Dr. Day and his staff - they're super nice. read more

Before I met Dr Day, I was in constant pain. I had had one surgery in 2014 to fix my TMJ after my jaw was broken at work, but I found that it only gave temporary relief at best. My quality of life was lacking something to be desired, I was supposed to be planning a wedding, but with the migraines two to three times a week and locking jaw that I was experiencing every time I laughed, coughed or even yawned put those plans on the far back burner. Then came the day that changed my life. I was sent to Dr. Day in Jan of 2015 to get a disability rate from my injuries. From the moment I signed into the office I was treated with respect and compassion from the ladies at the front desk. Once I got back to see the Doc, my life started changing for the better. Dr Day and Andrea were amazing the entire journey from then on. I ended up having to have a bilateral TMJ replacement surgery. The entire process was made more simplistic and less frightening by the level of care, education, empathy and true compassion that the staff at Dr Day's office offered. Andrea was my life line from the first day I was in the office until the day I was released from their care, from calling in RX to answering my random questions regarding my treatment. I had my replacement surgery in August, and I will forever be grateful to the skill of Dr Day. He has truly saved my life. I don't have full range of motion in my jaw YET, but I can laugh without fear of dislocation and I haven't had a migraine since before my surgery. I honestly would recommend Dr Day to anyone. I have a super bad time when it comes to dental work. Panic attacks and fear every time. I went in today for an extraction and bone graft, and Dr Day gave me several options, but thought I would be fine without any sedation- which have NEVER worked in the past. He took the time to explain the whole process with me, exactly how it would happen and then asked me what I wanted to do. I decided to go ahead with the procedure, and he was right. I truly cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Day and his office! Dr. Day has a phenomenal bedside manner, he is so patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable about my TMJ issues that I have. He took the time to sit down next to me and show me on different TMJ models exactly what is wrong with my jaw and how it is supposed to be moving and functioning, all after going over my TMJ MRI and x-ray. His attention to detail is extremely impressive and he took extra time at the end of my appointment to answer all of my questions very thoroughly. My 16 year old son needed all 4 of his wisdom teeth removed. Dr Day was referred to us by our orthodontist. We live in Scottsdale and so it is a bit of a trek for us to go to his offices in Phoenix however, because of the rave reviews that Dr Day received both online and from other dental professionals - we decided to go with him. I am so glad we did! My son's surgery went extremely well - he was not nervous at all because of the very thorough consultation Dr Day gave him prior to surgery day - the staff were all very nice and caring both before surgery, surgery day and post op. Absolutely amazed I've been putting off my wisdom teeth removal for many years now due to being overly nervous of the pain. I not only needed to have my 4 wisdom teeth removed, but also an additional 4 from over crowding and impacted canines. This made made me even more nervous to the point where I waited 6 years to finally get it done. I finally had them removed with Dr. Day today and I'm very impressed! He gave me a step by step on the process with each visit to keep me informed and to relieve a little stress I've been carrying on my shoulders. They made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process and made sure my surgery was affordable regardless to the large amount of work that needed done. I literally saved about $3,000 dollars by coming here VS another surgeon in the area that seemed to be charging me more than I needed Now as far as the surgery I think it went great! Dr. Day is very experienced to the point he's able to call out which teeth you'll mainly be feeling afterwards. He was definitely right when he said out of the 8 teeth pulled, that I would only feel maybe a couple due to the good job he would do. Dr. Day ended up being MORE than right as I am sitting here hours after the surgery and I only feel a slight sore in one location which he pointed out prior. It's a very slight sore feeling too which just amazes me at the fact that I had 8 teeth pulled and yet only 1 has a slight soreness. Strangely the only time I was sort of in pain was just as the surgery was done. Maybe the medicine was just wearing off fast for me but they gave me some pain medication to help. On the car drive home I felt better already. Once I followed the instructions at home with the medicine and ice pack, the soreness went away almost 100%. Judging by this rate I may not even have finish all of my pain medication due to the good job that he did. Just the ibuprofen alone is taking away any slight discomfort to where I don't need to take the heavy pain medication anymore & here I was taking 2 weeks vacation because I thought I was going to be in terrible pain what a baby I know haha. So again, I just wanted to thank Dr. Day and the team for being very helpful and doing such a great job. Definitely referring this center to anyone I know that needs oral work. I can't say enough good about Dr. Day and his staff. My husband recently had a tooth pulled which had an abscess. This was done at another dentist office. After two weeks, my husband had gone through two prescriptions of pain pills and antibiotics. His face was extremely swollen and he was in terrible pain. He was running a fever even after the two weeks and all the medicines. After all this time nothing had gotten any better and he hadn't been able to eat in over two weeks, therefore he lost 30 lbs. We went into Dr. Days office and WOW...He was so extremely helpful. His bedside manner was exceptional. He not only cared about my husbands medical care, he also cared about our financial situation. He treated us like we mattered as people not just as a patient. The staff was equally as caring and understanding. My husband was set for surgery two days later and instead Dr. Day did what needed to be done immediately. After suffering for over two weeks my husband went home knowing that he was going to be okay. His pain level had gotten better by that same night. He was able to eat a full serving of soup the following day, for the first time in over two weeks, His stress level was relieved, not to mentions mine as I was a total wreck watching my husband suffer. There are no words that can properly express how wonderful Dr. Day was to us. There are no words that can properly express how thankful we are that we ended up in his office for my husband to be treated. I would recommend him and his office to any and everyone. We all get a bit stressed and even scared when we are going through a medical issue, especially when the situation is getting worse instead of better.
