Had to go in for employment to get the finger print IVP done. Check in to the right of the building. Wasn't to bad of a wait. Instructed to fill in a few more details on my form and come back. I was given a yellow card and told to stand in the Finger Print line. Two people a head of me. Four windows and one clerk who was doing busy work with her window closed. 20 minutes later another employee opened and that went fairly quickly. After that process is done, you then go sit for your name to be called. Waited another 20 minutes for that and then went through that action fast. IVP can take up to 3-6 weeks to receive. They take money orders ONLY! Have that in advance otherwise you'll be sent away! If you need this done sooner than later I would suggest going to AZ Live Scan many locations throughout Phoenix including the UPS Stores, but make sure which one you need as those locations do different back ground check requests. Their turn around time is 2-4 weeks! read more

I ordered a police report online and it told me that it will be ready within 5-10 business days, but I never got contacted three weeks later so I walked in to check in for a traffic police report. If they have a really long wait, then they should really take note of that on their website... I have been trying to get a traffic claim resolved with an insurance company and we are getting nowhere because of their backlog. They should have an accurate time frame of their backlog so I could have gone in sooner to pick it up in person. The guy in the check-in window was very rude. Here I am trying to be friendly, he asks me questions which was totally fine, but he throws the paper to me which really rubbed me in the wrong way. Lady in window one was pretty rude as well. As she chews her gum, she looks like she has this annoyed look on her face. I asked her a question and she made me feel dumb in a way. I don't know what's with this place that a lot of their employees does not have an ounce of friendliness in them. Oh, btw, the wait is ridiculous! Terrible! The worst. If you aren't ready to be treated in a rude way don't bother to waist your time coming here. I went straight to "check in" as you should when arriving. The person who I speak to was extremely rude. I was trying to get information about my case, they closed my domestic violence case because there "wasn't" enough evidence when I have plenty of it. I went to the "check in" window where a male police officer greeted me, or should I say rudely greeted me. I came right after my eye appt where my eyes were still dilated, so he probably thought I was on drugs, regardless I was greeted rudely, and he threw my paper number at me and said, your number 37. I walked out to my car and got my police supplement paperwork (someone burglarized and stole my property from my Public Storage unit and the police gave me paperwork to fill out as to what was stolen) and I went back to the window to ask him if I could leave it with him and he said, no mail it in, he smirked and walked away. I recently had my house burglarized and had to visit this department for a copy of the police report. So I got #60 and they totally skipped my number and no one even bothered to explain why? When I went to the window I went to window #4 and asked why they had skipped my number they stated because your requesting 2 reports of 2 different incidents you were skipped (which I asked about since I was there already) and moved over to the high volume window which was window #2. The gal there kept reading off numbers and I had been there for almost 2 hours now and everyone else was in and out (so to me your purposely doing this). So I went up to this window again (#2) and asked what was taking so long to be called then she tells me your number has already passed as I'm trying to explain what the lady in window #4 stated I was next the 1st time I came up to ask, she cuts me off by saying I didn't say you were next and your # was already called and proceeds to say if I had only requested 1 report it would be faster but yet asks me to obtain another # if I decide to change my mind. I ask myself why??? Another # ?? She responds: "because 60 (my #) had already been called." Why not just help me at this point! Someone please explain to me how your supposed to keep your cool when people mistreat you and they don't even give you time in the day to explain the officer that gave me the # originally didn't explain that to me and then making me wait purposely and avoiding my number until the very end. Your in customer service position listen to people don't judge them because they're frustrated at your system we don't understand your policies or why you even love people over to high traffic!!! I cannot express how awful my experience was here. I came in a few weeks ago to get my fingerprints taken for a teaching program at school. When I arrived I immediately grabbed a ticket (time 11:14am) After filling out a short form I waited until 1:35pm (the time stamp on my receipt) until my number was FINALLY called. I swear it felt like I won the lottery. So after telling the young lady behind the window that I needed to get fingerprinted for my "teaching program at school" she told me that my total would come to $6. That was shockingly low so I asked "it's only $6 to get my fingerprint clearance card?" She responded with "yes". She then asked for my fingerprint form, ID and the $6. I payed. Sat down and waited for about five min until my name was called. The nice girl made small talk and quickly took my fingerprints. After I wiped the ink off my hands she handed me back the form with my fingerprints on it. I thought this was odd so I asked "so this is my fingerprint clearance card? This is all I need?" She replied with "yep that's it! Easy as that". I then left to enjoy some lunch. A few days later I took the finger print card to the school I'm attending and this is when they informed me that "this is the wrong card".... (This is when I knew it was about to get nasty.) They provided me with a blue envelope with a few forms I needed to fill out then take back to this location and have them mail the fingerprints for me. After that I would receive a different card... which is the card I need ("The verified prints"). So again I headed back to this inconvenient location (hard to find if you have never been here). I filled out the forms in the blue envelope grabbed a number then headed to the information window. I informed the officer of my problem... He then explained that because I didn't come back the day after that there may be an issue with the date and I may have to get re-fingerprinted but he was going to check with the supervisor.(Getting annoyed....) I handed him my ID, a receipt for the original fingerprints and the actual fingerprint form. He told me to take a seat and he would see what he could do. I sat down and shortly after he came out and sat down next to me. He explained that because the fingerprints left the building I was going to have to get re-fingerprinted and that I also needed a cashiers check for $67 to get the "Identity Verified Prints" he said "read this form and it will have everything you need to know". I then expressed my understanding of his reason and asked him if I was going to have to pay another fee for the actual prints ($6). He said yes. This is when I asked him to speak with the supervisor. He relied with "I have already spoken with her, and this is what she said so your not going to get anywhere with her." I then told the officer I'd prefer to speak with the supervisor in person. He continued to repeat that I was "not going to get anywhere with her". Feeling beyond frustrated I left the facility, ran to the bank to get a cashiers check and quickly arrived back in the waiting area with 8 people in front of me. (Oh ps. The form says you need a check for $69 and the officer told me $67) Waiting for my number to be called was like sitting on a barbed wire... All I wanted to do was get up and scream bloody murder. Finally my number was called and I approached "window number five" the nice young girl behind the counter asked what I needed I told her (now knowing) "the verified fingerprint card" she took my blue envelope with the check for $67, my ID and entered my information into the computer then gave me a total of $6. I payed then immediately asked for the supervisor. The supervisor Dina came over and I asked her for a number or email address where I could file a complaint. She proceeded to write down a number and hand it over to me. Not once did she ask what the problem was or if she could help in anyway. Weird... isn't that part of your job description? With no questions asked she just walked away as if the problem was solved. I again waited for my name to be called so I could get fingerprinted for the second time. Thank god the technician working Vanessa was a breath of fresh air. She was super sweet and very friendly... honestly she was the ONLY pleasant thing about my experience. Keep up the good work Vanessa!! I know it's only $6 and its not the money part that gets me but the fact they didn't offer to waive the fee. Nor did the supervisor try what so ever to resolve the issue or even seem interested in addressing the needs of a customer. I don't care who needs what or when but if your a customer you deserve good customer service. Period. If you can get ur prints done at a different location I highly recommend it. **Side note. I did call back later that day to file a complaint. I spoke with Dina and she took the time to listen to my complaint and apologized for my unpleasant visit. Hopefully they work on how to better their customer service. read more

I had to come here a few times to get some arrest records for someone I know and the people I've dealt with have all been very pleasant. However, depending on what time you get here, you may be waiting for a while. I've waited between 20 minutes and an hour and a half but haven't been here enough times to determine when the busy times are. I've come on an extended lunch break since I work downtown and that doesn't seem to be a good time because everyone else seems to have the same idea. If you're in a rush, don't bother coming here. I didn't want to come here at all but if you fill out the forms and mail them in, there is an 18-month backlog, which I was informed about when I received a phone call from them months after I had sent in my form. That wait also applies if you come down here and drop off your paperwork. If you need it today you need to wait. This backlog made the news within the past week as there was a lengthy article about it in AZCentral and according to that the wait times are because they had a staff reduction compared to some time ago but also because depending on what is in the reports, some information has to be redacted before it can be released. That was apparently the case when I got my documents because there were sections where the information was clearly missing. It's likely due to the fact that the cases I was researching hadn't gone to trial yet. Vehicle impounds are dealt with here as well and there is a separate line for that but I've never had to deal with that, fortunately. read more

I called ahead, after reading reviews that made me nervous about wait time. I just imagined myself getting in the wrong line, waiting forever -- only to figure out I had a whole new line to wait in. They helped me figure out what I was looking for and advised me there was only one line and the best time to come is first thing when they open. I was there at 8:05AM there was one guy ahead of me. I was in and out with a copy the record I was looking for in under 30 minutes. Reportedly by 9AM it will be a madhouse as advertised. Service was friendly and I didn't have to pay for the first copy, since I was the victim. There's a silver-lining for you! ;) read more

You're going to spend at least 4-5 hours. Apparently it takes 4 hours to look over paper work and process a payment. This people have no sense of urgency. Its been two months since my car accident... still waiting on my police report... every time i call the automated machine keep redirecting me to the same thing and when i finally get transferred to the public records i'm waiting over 10 min then it just hangs up.... this is seriously so aggravating to wait and wait and no help... two months for a police report is unacceptable specially when both insurances are waiting for it and you cannot fix your car until the proof... get your shit together phoenix police department...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Came in to get my fingerprints done, which I thought would take a year and a day since this location also deals with impounds. NOT SO... They have coordinated the flow of people so well that you talk to someone at a window within minutes about fingerprinting, they take debit/credit cards to pay the like $8 fee (not sure about that price, double check). Then within minutes, they take you to the back, pat you down to make sure you're not a sociopath and do your prints. It's that easy. Plus, they had wipes to clean your fingers off and I've heard of horror stories for other police departments about leaving with gummy black fingers. I will DEFINITELY be going back to this location if I need my fingerprints done for a clearance card again. : ) read more

I don't want to give them one star! My car was stolen December 19 in my apartment complex in Scottsdale and was recovered December 28 in Phoenix but no one contacted me until January 4 through a postcard stating the date and where it was found. They supposedly called me that day it was found but no one called me and I have it on record that they did not call me. I was trying to get information but all they gave me were different numbers to call. And when I did get a hold of someone they said it's out of our hands and I'd have to deal with the impound.
