Have you been to Green Light yet? It's in a small, unassuming strip mall (slightly overshadowed by…read morethe liquor store next door, but once you have been to Green Light, you won't even notice the neighbors any more, so intent are you on getting INSIDE!), with plenty of ample parking. Inside, you'll find new and used records, tapes, and cds. (I mean, of course!) The walls are covered with interesting new releases and rare recordings. The bins are a joy to peruse, especially the 45s. Larger musicians have their own tabs, otherwise it is alphabetical. You'll find much here that you'll love, but it will also be hard to stay on budget. Luckily, they have a frequent buyer card (in $5 increments). Our favorite part is digging through the 45s. It's a trip down memory lane, with laughter galore. I cannot believe the 80s fashion that ended up on record sleeves (I know, I wore it myself, but not in such a...memorable way). The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The music playing is especially interesting. And, although we haven't done it yet, they do purchase music from customers (hence the enormous selection of records for us to discover treasures within!). Previously, my favorite record store was Electric Fetus in Minneapolis. This has definitely replaced it, both for warmth and service. Go!

From crates and crates of records, dishware (including a whole stall devoted to fiesta ware), decor, furniture, old toys and collectibles, comics and other pop culture items, even a bit of industrial wares. Oh and lots of clothing! Staff here is super nice and will help you put any of your finds in a cubby at check out so you can walk around hands free. And FYI if you come with kids ask them for their scavenger hunt sheets and you can keep them busy while you're crusin' the stalls!

The owners and employees are super friendly and engaging, which is what you would expect out of a shop in downtown Goshen. The prices, however. Yeesh. So much of their used vinyl is marked up way higher than it should be. It's become a fun "window shopping" record store for me, but it's very difficult to justify the cost when they are often charging 40-50% more than most other places for vinyl in similar condition.
