We used this company for the first--and last--time this year. After our taxes were completed, at a cost of over $800, we discovered that the tax preparer had made three separate errors that would have cost us $1,000 plus in overpaid taxes. A letter about this to the founder and CEO of the company, Julia Brufke Wenger, went unanswered after two weeks. I'm disappointed at the lack of expertise demonstrated by the tax preparer and by the lack of professionalism on the part of the management team. I cannot recommend this firm to anyone. read more

Bad service for +$550. I would happily pay a premium for great service but they rushed through the entire transaction and waited until the last minute to actually file our taxes. I have questions unanswered and I felt robbed when I walked out of their facility. Trying to support a local business rather than a chain. No - they gave us a quote of $1000 for doing our taxes. Considering that I was making about minimum wage and my husband was unemployed for the year, it doesn't seem like our taxes would be all that complicated. (Oh, and also, I had to make repeated calls to find out the estimate for doing our taxes.) So, NO. UPDATE: After we declined their services, we needed to get our tax papers back. We were told they overnighted them to us. Long story short: We still don't have them. (This is their 'busy season'. When I said that their extremely high fee to complete my taxes was not manageable, I was told I needed to "stop living off of the government and support my children". This was EXTREMELY offensive and slanderous, considering she had my W2s that proved gainful employment. (Nevermind the fact that my income source is none of her business.) STAY AWAY! What a scam! "James" had our files for a week before he gave us an estimate. It was so outrageous that we wanted to get a quote elsewhere, but they took that ability away when they held the files for 5 business days without doing anything. James then refused to take responsilbility and only offered to send the files back. His boss, Julie then tells me the same thing. Just curious, is there anyone at this company willing to take responsibility for their mistakes? These guys shouldn't be in business. UPDATE: I am told they overnighted my files back to me via UPS yesterday. Had an appointment today at 2:00 pm with a "reasonably priced" Tax Consultant. Had to cancel. It is 6:30 pm and I still don't have my files. It will be 11 days they had my files and did nothing. No apology, no offer of an appropriately priced service, no nothing. Please DO NOT go to this place! Stay Away! Very unprofessional. After no return phone calls, no explanation what was going on with our taxes. After having our paperwork for over 10 days the person on the phone stated we owed over $9K in taxes. We have never owed and always got a return back. We decided to pick up our paperwork and not do our taxes there. They charged us $320 for services rendered. The problem with this is there was absolutely no communication whatsoever with this place. No return calls, no communication or explanation. Last year we did our taxes there and had a great experience. Not sure what happened to this place. read more

This review is for Attorney Chris Furman. He prepared my federal and state income tax filings. A friend recommended Chris as he is an attorney with an LLM in tax and also has an accounting background, both of which were ideal as my taxes are quite complicated. He was very thorough when he prepared my taxes and asked questions that my prior accountant did not! He brought my attention to a few recent changes in the tax code that I was not aware and that related to my particular finances, that helped me save money on my return. Due to Chris's knowledge and experience doing taxes, he maximized my return which I was quite happy about (I was nervous as I cashed in an IRA and was expecting to take a big hit!). My only experience with this company is through Chris Furman but he was great to work with and I would recommend him to anyone looking for professional assistance filing their taxes and maximizing their returns as he was both thorough and pleasant to work with. read more
