From the get go she took on this challenge like a champ. I only had a little bit of time before my wedding and had yet to find someone who I felt shared my vision. After a friend recommended Dawn, I looked at her blog and immediately knew I had to have her. I felt instantly comfortable around Dawn she is super sweet and full of energy (something I was lacking at times.) We got the package deal for unlimited coverage of the wedding which included an engagement shoot and bridals/groomals. She brought a second shooter along for the bridals and the wedding for maximum coverage which was really awesome since I know how hard it is to be in two places at once. Once Dawn got the shots she had them edited and uploaded within the week! She was very flexible with her schedule and met us all the way at the Marin Headlands for the shots we so wanted and we could not have been happier with the results. For my bridals she knew the perfect location for some of the most dramatic shots. Dawn is truly an artist and went above and beyond our expectations. She took her time to make the pictures perfect, and I never felt rushed or pressured. We fought mosquitos, traffic and trudged into places a bride might fret to go and it was SO worth it. I am so grateful she was the one to make all of those precious moments a solidified memory in my mind and for generations to come.

Dawn helped us with picking which of the outfits we brought worked best with the different locations and she was great at giving direction and coming up with ideas. We shot in two beautiful locations that she suggested. The process itself was fun as Dawn is engaging as well as thoughtful and professional. She took hundreds of photos and then edited them down to a large gallery of shots to choose from. Choosing was the hardest part because there were SO many amazing photos and all were high-quality with attention to light and details. When we made our selections, Dawn did final edits and was responsive to our thoughts and requests. She worked efficiently and was great about communicating. We have friends that went with much cheaper options for their photos but we are very happy with our choice. We are extremely disappointed with our experience with Perla Banda as our wedding photographer and…read morefeel obligated to warn future couples. Although she was pleasant on our wedding day (7/19/25), the quality of the photos, editing, and the months-long post-wedding process were unacceptable. Many photos were poorly edited, unevenly framed, and overexposed--some beyond recovery. A majority of our family portraits and critical moments, including the walk down the aisle, were improperly captured and ultimately ruined. During the interview process, she stated she has done SF City Hall photography before. Although it might be true, she lacks the skills in adjusting to the lighting, being in the right position for the critical events, and has MAJOR issues with her centering skills. This is critical for SF City Hall and she executes it poorly. We ended up hiring an independent professional editor, who confirmed that many images could not be fixed due to how they were originally shot. So the guaranteed 600+ photos she promises in her contract includes her poor quality photos...which are not usable. Timeline of issues: 7/19/25 - Wedding Day 7/24/25 - Received first-look photos (contract stated 24-hour delivery). 9/11/25 - Photographer emailed stating final edits were not complete and would be done in one week. 9/26/25 - We had to follow up for an update after hearing nothing. 10/2/25 - Received what was labeled as "final photos." 10/5/25 - We emailed expressing dissatisfaction with the poor and inconsistent edits; she said she would rework them. 10/19/25 - After two weeks of no communication, we requested an ETA. 10/22/25 - Received only four revised photos; she stated she hired a third-party editor. We agreed all final edits would be completed by 11/1/25. 11/1/25 - Another version of "final photos" was emailed, still with obvious issues. 11/3/25 - We requested compensation and access to the RAW files due to continued poor quality. 11/10/25 - She claimed a USB was mailed and delivered, but no delivery attempt was made and no tracking number was provided. We were home that day and were never contacted about any delivery issue. 11/11/25 - We requested the RAW files via Google Drive. 11/12/25 - She stated the USB was sent again and finally provided tracking. The USB finally arrived INSIDE our mail (no signature was required). So we know she was not telling us the truth about the initial delivery attempt. Wedding photos are once-in-a-lifetime memories. Despite months of patience and multiple chances to correct the issues, the final results never met professional standards. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Perla Banda. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. You don't want to wait 4 months for your pictures to finally be sent to you and end up finding out that you are receiving low-tier quality photographs that are not presentable.
