Phresh Tea is own by the same owners of Uniboil. We've been going there last 3 months in a row when we visit Goleta. Their variety of tea is excellent and refreshing. We enjoy it so much, we always go back on the day we leave Goleta and get 1 or 2 per person for the road. Their service is very quick and do try their best to get their drinks and small snacks for their customers. We love their Taiwanese popcorn chicken, fried milk, fried tofu are our absolute favorite. They do need to update their pricing on their board, most drinks are in the mid &5-$6 range before any popping boboa are added. 5* for this joint, we would go there when we visit Goleta. read more

The sign on the door says that they close at 9 yet the girl who works at the boba counter with brown mid length hair refused to take my drink order at 8:40, claiming that they were closed already. Mind you I can still see customers in the store hanging out but they didn't wanna make 2 extra drinks I guess. I was craving for something sweet after having lunch. Good thing, we researched on Yelp for boba places nearby and stumbled upon this place. I enjoyed the Thai tea with extra boba- the level of sweetness is just right and the boba is of good quality. I've learned that they also offer some light food/ snacks like popcorn chicken and spam musubi and others. We'll definitely try these other food offerings soon. We were just full the time we got to this place since we just finished lunch. But this is a nice place to hang out. They even have some board games. It is also beside Uniboil (a hotpot place). Absolutely terrible service and would not recommend. We ordered a thai tea with boba and a honey lemon tea. There were about 3 tables being served during the time while my friend and I ordered and we waited about 20 minutes to receive two drinks. We checked with the server every 5 minutes and he kept telling us to be patient. I just don't understand since it did not seem like he was in a rush either. If I had known the wait time was this long, I would have went to another place. Thai Tea with Boba - boba was overcooked and tasted like it was sitting for a couple hours. We like to stop here every time I'm in SB 'cause it's the only boba shop I could find in the area. The tapioca balls are nice and chewy. The drinks are still delicious and tastes fresh. The reason for the 3 stars instead of my original 4 is because i agree with another reviewer. The cleanliness of this place is not-so-cleanly now. The counters and tables are sticky (my jacket was kind of stuck when I was resting on the counter). The staff aren't as friendly as they were a year ago. No smiles, no greeting. The food takes a really LONG time get after placing an order. Also, they don't call out your order or your name when your food is ready, so there were a few people just standing waiting there while their food was ready. My takoyaki tastes a bit strange this time around, which makes me sad because it was decent takoyaki. Not sure what's going on, but hopefully owners make some changes because I'd still want to support them. read more

I wanted to love this place so much but alas, it is only a like. I took my family here for boba and I heard great things but I left feeling a little underwhelmed. I did appreciate the games available to play and free Wi-Fi! But i did not like that it took over 15 minutes for four drinks when there were two staff making drinks and no one else there. Again, thank goodness for the games or else my kids would've lost all patience. My milk tea boba was simple and delicious. Loved it. My sons both got strawberry smoothies and they were also good. My husband got a watermelon slush and it was so lackluster. Just boring with okay flavor. Felt like we wasted time and money on it. we stopped by here on our road trip to Santa Barbara. The lady at the counter was really nice. We got the mango green tea and then the jasmine green tea. Parking is convenient because it's in the plaza. The store seemed kind of messy. There's a lot of stuff. But I liked how the menu was displayed really clearly to see. There are some reviews that are really criticizing the flavors, but this boba place is in Santa Barbara where there aren't many boba places to compare to. Because there are maybe two other boba places in the county, I would say this place is the best! I do think that their flavor selection is minimal compared to what a typical boba place would have (in other cities), but I really enjoyed the Ube Milk Tea that I ordered. It was non-dairy and I got it half sweet. I still thought it was pretty sweet but since it was my first time I would probably get 25% sweet next time. There was a bit of a wait when I got there, and since there is currently no seating there were a bunch of people surrounding the kitchen just staring them down until they got their drinks. There was nothing else to do, so I think if there is going to be a wait they should direct people to wait outside. This is also during the pandemic, so there should probably be only 3-4 people inside at all times, rather than the 10-15 people that were there. I give this place five stars because there's nothing better in the area. I wasn't happy with the wait, but boba seems to be super poppin during this pandemic because places in LA and in the Bay also have huge lines at their boba spots. The quality of the snacks and drinks do not remain consistent enough for me to give it a 5 star - but it does remain a solid option for some Taiwanese popcorn chicken and boba. I can only recommend the jasmine milk tea and thai tea at this time. I've tried the Rosie and the ube but much too sweet for me at regular sugar. Maybe 25% for any syrup/powder base drinks. The jasmine and Thai tea at 75% sweet is perfect. I've gotten their boba at random and sometimes it's not the right chew but other days, it's perfect. I hope that they continue the trend of serving some really good boba drinks in this area because we need it!! I also tried their new fire tofu and it's just lightly fried (meaning it doesn't remain crispy) and coated in some chili paste - it's okay. I ordered a dirty latte and the brown sugar boba that came with it was delicious! It was soft and chewy. I don't usually care for boba in my drink but I'll be sure to get boba with my drinks from now on when I stop by. The overall drink wasn't better than their Hokkaido Milk Tea, which has more flavor and is a bit sweeter. The dirty latte is milk + boba + caramel drizzle on the cup. It's a great drink if you want something that's not too sweet. Their jalapeno lamb bowl was good! I didn't see it on their menu but they have a picture of it on their wall. It was a bit pricey, $17 but they give a good amount. I ate around half of it. I ordered it Mild Spicy. It came out medium to hot spicy, and that's not including the jalapenos I avoided eating. They told me the order would take 40 min, but it came out a bit faster I believe. It had rice, lamb slices, spam/ luncheon meat, broccoli, onions, cabbage, and corn. There was as much spam as there was lamb. Thought it was worth mentioning for those that don't eat pork. I was surprised it came with spam but didn't mind. It was flavorful, didn't have any sauce but was seasoned with mouth numbing spice and possibly MSG. The bowl ended up having about twice as many jalapenos than in my picture. Okay boba for SB considering I am from the San Gabriel area where there are a lot of good boba places. The boba is overcooked(too chewy) and kind of bland. Drinks aren't very tea forward. I was just happy there was boba around. On the drink portion alone,I would give 3.5 stars. The customer service and food here leaves a lot to be desired which is why I give 2 stars. I ordered the popping fish balls and paid for my entire order three drinks and fish balls waited for 20 minutes for the food. After 20 minutes I went up to the cashier to ask the status of the order and they told me it's actually been ready but I have to pay an additional few dollars because I was charged incorrectly for the fish balls as a side rather than a snack. First of all, if the order is ready let the customer know. I know it was sitting there because I watched someone bring it out but I thought it was someone else's order. Second of all if you made a mistake then the restaurant should let it go especially after making me wait so long that the food was barely warm when I got it. But maybe the food was not hot to begin with... I don't know. The fish balls were also not your typical popping fish balls. There was something mushy mass on the inside and they made my stomach hurt after eating them. At 6 fish balls for 8$+tax, I would not recommend it. I expected better considering this is part of the uniboil. 3 drinks plus fish balls cost $23. There's plenty of parking in front of the shop and a decent amount of seating inside (for a boba shop). I am such a boba lover and I will have to say this is my favorite place to go to here in SB. My go to is definitely the Hokkaido Milk Tea with boba. What I love about it is that it isn't too sweet and it's always made just right. My sons favorite will have to be the Mango slush. Absolutely delicious! We also love to share the popcorn chicken. It has the perfect amount of spice and accompanied by their sweet and sour sauce for dipping, makes this our absolute go to! What makes a milk tea great? Phresh ingredients. har har har. Bad joke aside, Phresh Teas definitely delivers on its name of fresh-tasting drinks and high-quality milk tea. Plus, it's clean, they have plenty of seating, and there's a bunch of board games to play (Uno, Connect Four, Jenga, card games, etc) while you wait. The milk tea had a creamy consistency and a strong tea flavor. I love that you can also customize the amount of sugar and/or ice you want in your drink. I usually go for 25% sugar and no ice and for the milk tea, it came out perfect. The SoCal Phresh consisted of fresh orange juice and green tea and it was super refreshing. It had freshly cut orange slices decorating the inside of the cup making it look really pretty. The passion fruit paradise with 25% sugar was a delight. Not too sweet and not too sour or watery, it was the perfect blend of passionfruit and lime flavor. It even had a giant slice of fresh lime in it. I was generally impressed that they make their drinks with fresh ingredients and that nothing tasted artificial. I didn't try their boba balls though so I can't say if they're good or not. The employees here are friendly and helpful. I rolled in at 9:15 on a Friday night (they close at 9:30) and they were more than happy to start a new order and get my food done to-go. One downside to coming late was that they were out of Boba, but I get it, they probably sold all out by the time it was closing. The inside has a game selection you can use when you stay for a longer time and there's free Wi-Fi. I ended up getting their Popcorn Chicken which was really close to the real thing--I might dare say among the top 5-10 that I've ever had. It was juicy (not over fried and not dry), the portion size was huge and flavor was spot on. It was right out of the fryer so it was also piping hot, just the way I like it. My drink was a Lychee slush with lychee jelly, half sweet, and it was pretty sweet despite the reduced sweetness. They are connected to UniBoil next door, which I originally entered but realized I didn't want to have a huge hot pot this late at night (which looked amazing but you have to be really hungry to enjoy one of those on your own). --------TL;DR-------- PROS: great portion sizes (particularly the popcorn chicken), friendly staff here, and good selection of items CONS: closes at 9:30pm--understandable here in the middle of Goleta, but would be nice on Friday/Saturday nights to open to midnight if there's a demand for a later night crowd. Phresh Teas never disappoints whether the one in IV or on Hollister!! Citrus lemon: 10/10 usually I get this drink 50% sugar cause otherwise it is too sweet for my liking! Had a nice experience here. Great food and great service. The menu offers so many choices. I ordered from the mini hotpot selection, picked Szechuan Pepper Number Hot Soup, love its soup base, all the vege and meat included absorbed the broth so well, especially the cabbage, which tasted very rich after boiling for a few minutes, and the crispy texture of the lotus root was a plus. The restaurant also connects to a boba tea shop, a nice place to study or hang out with friends, and the fruit tea I ordered there was delicious and refreshing, highly recommend going with the hot pot! I love how SB keeps getting new boba places. Keep them coming! Phresh Teas, kind of confusingly, is connected to Uniboil. You can order while you eat at Uniboil, or you can finish eating and walk around to the Phresh Teas store. It's very spacious and there are lots of games provided if you want to play with friends. Previous players seemed to put them away haphazardly though. The staff here is really friendly and the area is generally kept clean. The prices are normal for the SB area. My review is solely rated on the drinks. To be honest, not many drinks stick out to me. I've had the lychee green tea, which is decent. I've also had their rose milk tea, and it wasn't good (nothing rosy about it). I'd recommend the original milk tea or one of the refreshing fruit teas, because I think the recipe here for the other flavors isn't the best. The yogurt flavors are interesting though, and other places don't have it. I'd opt for another boba spot but this is a convenient place to get a drink if you're already at Uniboil or in the area. read more

I can't believe all the *good* boba came to Santa Barbara after I move away. Naturally, it was one of my first stops when visiting Emily L., who had rave reviews about this place. To keep it short and sweet: the flavors here are great. We're talking fresh wedges of lime in the fruit teas, high quality Thai tea leaves, and creamy milk. I haven't gone wrong with anything here, really. And it's reasonably priced for the area, hovering around $4 for a drink. But like others have noticed, the wait time is insufferable. It's really strange, because when I've been here, there have been several (not a couple, but several) people behind the counter. Are they brewing small quantities of tea per order? I doubt it, because it seems like they have giant labeled containers of liquids on the shelves. I can't stand waiting 10+ minutes for a fruit tea. I was impressed by the whole lime wedge in my drink, but I really could have done without waiting for them to properly wash and trim it to fit the cup. Phresh, though, is definitely the only boba worth drinking in Santa Barbara now. Sorry to all the I.V. and Goleta places that moved in over the last three years, but there's real boba in town now. read more
