We don't usually complain or make reviews but this isn't the first time we have come here .Horrible service except for a nice blonde gentleman, the manager made mine and my 3 friends drinks wrong, the 2 iced chais we got were either super watered down, had a cup full of ice with a splash of milk. I got my iced chai refunded because it was super watered down and tasted like nothing. My other friend got a PSL and he had it remade 2 times and it still tasted like a regular latte and when he went to ask for a refund the manager gave him attitude asking why he wanted a refund, knowing she made it wrong twice saying she didn't care about the refund. 2 of us are also baristas so we understand a rush but this was just extremely frustrating and unprofessional. So bad! Staff was anything but friendly while ordering. Didn't give me a receipt which was required for the bathroom code which they are oddly secretive about when we clearly just ordered. I can't have coffee right now, so I ordered the Yerbalicous due to it having positive reviews and it was awful. Tasted like the smell of electricity. I also ordered a jalapeño cheddar bagel and it came out about 12 minutes after my drink, which is really odd when they had to brew the Yerba mate. They give you a tiny rock hard portion of cream cheese with a giant thick bagel so I asked my husband to go get a couple extra cream cheese and they charged him $1.20. I'm not exaggerating. They're about a quarter size amount of cream cheese. I threw the drink away, and I threw away most of the bagel. The whole experience was a complete waste. I will never return here, and I will never recommend it to anyone based on the interactions with the staff as well as the taste of the drinks and food. There was also a small bird flying around the café, which was disgusting as they roast the beans right there next to the bathroom too. Absolutely love to stop into SBRC when traveling near Santa Barbara. What an amazing selection of freshly roasted coffees. They have a blend for all tastes and single origin offerings too. The drip coffees have about 5 rotating options with free refills. Pour Overs also available and Im pretty sure they have an espresso machine. Service is always perky. Friendly cashiers and baristas. We were offered a "pup cup" last visit which is a small cup of whipped cream for your dog. They are dog friendly. Nice and plentiful seating inside. A few tables outside with an open alfresco feel throughout. Bathrooms require a code. I didn't order coffee, but I did order iced tea and loved that they give you a cup of ice and then the tea is self serve with what I assume is free refills. At least I refilled my cup a few times... don't lock me up, I am no criminal! The staff was super cool, just enough conversation to be friendly while staying efficient. I also really liked that the big bean roasting machine was in plain sight. While I didn't try the coffee, I'm sure having the roasting right in the shop makes a difference in the quality. There is plenty of seating indoors and a few tables and chairs outdoors which is great since the weather is so nice. When you make a purchase, you get a code for the bathroom which is super handy when you enjoy too much iced tea. I was unfortunately unable to try the apple turnover, ham and cheese croissant nor monkey bread because of traumatic events that followed after, but they looked delicious. Wow, 8am on a Wednesday morning I buy a coffee cup to self fill up with coffee and to my surprise all the coffee carafe's were lukewarm or totally room temperature. There must have been 8-10 different containers of coffee, all cold. I ask the "barista" about the coffee being cold and if there was any fresh coffee available. He responded with "all the coffee was brewed at 6:30am, what do you want me to do throw it away?" He had no resolution for getting me a hot coffee. We very much enjoyed their strong Iced Latte and our little girl really loved her Strawberry Smoothie. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.
