Sweet potato pancakes with cinnamon butter, chicken sausage and scrambled eggs. Corn bread and large grits on the side.

We have driven by this establishment before but never paid attention. I found it on google and I'm glad we tried it. It is a family owned restaurant so it's always great to support local. The venue is beautiful. We were able to get a reservation online fairly easily. There is ample parking. The hostess and server both were so kind and warm. Cassandra our server was very caring! She made good recommendations made sure we had a pleasant experience! The food is delicious! The pictures don't do it justice. The sweet potato pancakes with the cinnamon sugar butter is perfect. The grits was the perfect consistency and richness. The chicken and waffles was well balanced. The corn bread was a little dry but it wasn't a big deal. There is something for everyone on the menu. We will definitely return!

They're open from the morning to late afternoon, and there's plenty of parking. They have some outdoor seating, but not much. Walking in, you get seated to your table and it looks like a typical brunch restaurant. This is the place to go if you're wanting soul or southern style food. I got the chicken croquettes, shrimp and grits, and sweet potato pancakes. The croquettes were smaller than I had expected, but was perfectly crispy and paired well with the Cajun sauce. The shrimp and grits are made with Gouda cheese, 5 seasoned shrimps, and is very large. There were some clumps in the grits but wasn't as bad as other places. It is pretty heavy, and wished there were some more shrimp but overall was rich and flavorful. I had ordered the sweet potato pancake breakfast, but only got the pancakes. Despite the mistake, the pancakes were paired nicely with cinnamon honey butter, fluffy, and not too sweet which is perfect for me. I also ordered a coffee, but it tasted like it was a day old and wasn't hot. Service was good, but I feel like there's always room for improvement assuming this is a fairly new establishment. Regardless, it's worth a try because the flavor is there!!

I've held out as long as I can writing this updated review! I've been pretty loyal to this spot since it opened. For a while, my friends and I would come here nearly every Sunday after church. We had gotten on a first name basis with several of the wait staff. The last 5 or more visits have been awful and today was the last straw for me! We've experienced the restaurant running out of food and not notifying us until 45 minutes into our dining time (on at least 3 occasions). We experienced the owner coming in with Walmart bags of groceries trying to fulfill orders. We've experienced undercooked fish and accountability avoidance more than I've ever experienced at any establishment! Receiving to-go food in a soggy paper plate wrapped in plastic wrap today has nailed the coffin for me! Completely careless! Again, this review comes after many times of keeping quiet and wanting to support and see this business thrive. I'm done!

We went on Mother's Day so service was expected. It was but so it was going to take a lil min to get your food. Ambiance isn't bad, restaurant is a little small when busy though felt like. But they are accommodating. But my only question is really why did y'all leave the hurls on the shrimp in the shrimp and grits? Now before I eat it, I gotta make sure the hurls off. I'd prepare with without the hurl, maybe just the tail or better yet nothing at all. But just a suggestion. Chicken seasoned though

Great spot for brunch. Wait time on Sundays are long to get a table and for food to come out but the food is really good. And the music is on point. I ordered the Fried Catfish Croissant. Fantastic choice. That fish is seasoned and fried to perfection. I was able to taste my friend's grits that came with his fried catfish and those grits were absolutely dreamy. Definitely will come back on a less busy day to try something else on the menu.

Pro/Con Service - attentive, knowledgeable (A) Ambiance - brunch (A) Food - fried catfish sandwich (B) * very good fried catch fish only issue I have which is preference my croissant was soggy from the catfish being hot. Not sure if the fish had sat if the croissant would still stand the rest of time. Espresso Martini - (A) Overall I'd visit again but not order the croissant because of the bread pretty much giving way too early where I am using a fork to eat the rest of the sandwich. Recommend to go tho

Came to Phyllis for brunch with a couple of friends and everything was so good. I ordered the steak skillet with potatoes--perfectly seasoned and super filling. One friend had the shrimp and grits, and the other got the catfish croissant. We all loved our meals and cleared our plates. The bottomless mimosas were definitely flowing, and the lavender lemon drop was a must-try--so smooth and flavorful. The vibes were great, food was on point, and it's honestly the perfect brunch spot. We'll definitely be back for more.

Alright so boom - I rolled into Phyllis on a Saturday afternoon, needing a proper brunch to settle the soul. This place hits the mark, serving up Southern comfort food, brunch, and cocktails in a medium-to-large setting with plenty of seating--no need to fight for a spot. The entire experience was made smooth by the excellent service. The staff was genuinely friendly and on top of things from the jump. My server was attentive, quick with the essentials, and made the whole brunch feel easy and welcoming. Good hospitality is key, and they nail it here. For my order, I chose the Sweet Potato Pancake breakfast. The plate was generous, featuring two large pancakes, two eggs, and my protein selection, which was the chicken sausage. I also added a side of home style potatoes. Everything on the plate was delicious. The eggs were cooked properly, and the chicken sausage was flavorful. The home style potatoes were a great side--crisp exterior and soft interior--providing that essential savory balance. The sweet potato pancakes, served with that beautiful cinnamon butter, were undoubtedly a highlight; they were fluffy and perfectly seasoned, easily the star component of the dish. Phyllis is a must-visit for a weekend brunch. Between the friendly service and the satisfying, well-executed food, it's a reliable and enjoyable spot.

Food was okay, great parking and good customer service. Quiet establishment near the hospital, perfect for a quick getaway. I ordered the sweet potato pancakes, but they didn't really taste like sweet potato. The lemonade was everything! I also had chicken sausage with cheese eggs. The food came out fast, and the place is very pretty inside. Definitely worth giving them a try

My favorite meal, by far, from a boy's trip to ATL. Service from Jennifer was awesome, I think the owner came out to greet us and was so friendly, and all of the food absolutely slapped. We went all around trying Southern comfort food spots and I'm still dreaming about this catfish n grits. We made a reservation and there was absolutely no wait also, everything came out pretty quick and crispy hot.

Hubby and I arrived on a Saturday morning around 0930 for brunch. Our visit started off rough as they seemed to be out of everything we ordered. They were out of biscuits and turkey sausage, but the waitress quickly turned things around by offering a croissant instead of the biscuit. The sweet potato pancakes were phenomenal, as were the potatoes and everything else we ordered. You must try the various types of butter they offer for your pancakes. DELICIOUS! We will stop by again the next time we stop in the ATL.

Definitely going to make my way back to this restaurant! It is a must try! They market and pride themselves in southern homestyle cooking and it definitely hits the spot. The restaurant is clean has attentive staff/service, & parking is very accessible. The lot is about medium sized and is neighboring with a Panera Bread. I would say it may get crowded on weekends. I can't imagine there being an extremely long wait as the service was pretty quick (but don't hold me to that, again, I can picture them getting crowded on weekends). The food was delicious! It tasted fresh and of great quality. I am eager to try other dishes that were on the menu like the catfish and grits, fried lobster and waffles, mac n cheese, and many more. Our waitress recommended a lot of items as they all seem to meet expectations. I like that they also have some healthier options for anyone who may not be super into fried food. The only reason why I'm not giving it 5 stars is simply because of how they prepare their Honey Butter Biscuits. I really prefer for my honey butter to be glazed on and into my biscuit vs. getting it on the side and dipping it in the saucer (this is just my preference) Other than that, I'm excited to go back for a nice brunch with family!

My prompt to my gpt this morning included "family owned, cozy place, food that hugs you like a grandma after a long time away, etc" this is one of the best places I've been in USA so far. I also woke up idealizing to only try new things and no repeats but I've already ordered a second drink haha I absolutely don't want to leave. As soon as you walk in they greet you and help you out, then the bartender (I came by myself so I sat on the bar) approached me with the most warmth and helped me getting something according to her experience and taste but considering my taste and preferences. The food came (quick for how busy it is 12 min) The food tastes just like a grandmas food that she's been working the entire day on it. I can't wait to be back here. Also I didn't have anything the entire day and couldn't finish my plate because the amount of food is way more than decent. Place is clean, music is great and volume even better, you can see families bringing their babies to enjoy meals here. Also everyone that works here and so nice and polite even if they're not serving you this is my favorite place from now on and I will not shut about it haha adding a picture of my drink (which we are repeating ) and plate that I'll be bringing the leftover home

We were a group of 5 and that was pushing it so I'd definitely say no more than 5-6 people. We sat outside and the weather was beautiful. Just a heads up--this restaurant seems to be dog friendly. As a dog owner myself that is something I'd like to know but I understand the hesitation when you're sitting and eating next to a dog. However, doesn't take away from the cleanliness or the service of the restaurant. We ordered the Mezze trio as an appetizer. Everyone loved the hummus however my favorite was the red beet root. I also loved that they can refill the pita bread which went by quickly. Most of the table ordered the lamb skewers which I thought was a good. I'd give it an 8/10. I thought the flavors paired nicely and it was a different taste than the skewers I've ordered before. My brother ordered the salmon and he really enjoyed that. The service was nice however it did take at least 45 minutes for us to get our food which was a bummer. Definitely could see this being a nice, chill lunch or dinner spot.

From the space to the beverages to the service, there was not a single miss here. This is not your typical warehouse or industrial park brewery/distillery. A beautiful brick, stand alone building greets you with a nice outdoor seating around. Inside is a beautifully decorated space with tall ceilings and tons of natural light pouring in.
