I made an appointment because I've previously been here and had to wait because I didn't have one at the time and learned my lesson. Coming in today, someone came in after me without an appointment but was immediate brought back and taken care of. Now it is 30 minutes from my appointment time and I'm waiting to see a doctor still. Places like this should stick to their policies so people who do it the right way don't get burned. I'm giving it a bump up in stats because I just met with a doctor finally and she was wonderful. I had a billing dispute and it was impossible to reach a live person. The phone numbers on the billing invoice and on their website are only to an automated payment system and you cannot reach a live person in their billing department. This is impossibly frustrating, in fact, infuriating. It's not professional whatsoever. I do not recommend them and I will not be a repeat customer. read more

When you call the number it's nearly impossible to talk to a real person. To get my X-ray released online it said it would take up to 10 days. I finally reached the office and asked if I could come pick up my X-rays. They said they'd check and call back. They didn't. I came in person to get them. They said x-ray tech was not there but would be in first thing the next morning. I begged them to have my X-rays ready for an appointment with orthopedic doc the next morning. I called first thing. They said X-ray tech was there. I said please have him run a copy of my X-rays and that I would be over in ten minutes to get them. Ten minutes later I arrived to get them. She said it would be a few minutes. After ten minutes I asked what was the holdup. She said the X-ray tech wasn't in the building. I couldn't believe it. She said she'd called him and he was coming back in five to ten minutes. I said I had to leave for my doctors appointment in ten minutes. I waited more fifteen minutes for the X-ray tech. I asked if he was there. They said no. I left and went directly to the ortho appointment. They said since I didn't have my x-rays with me I needed to get new ones. So more radiation and a few hundred dollars more out of my pocket. All because the staff at urgent care didn't care. read more

Asked for corp number "there isn't one" 6. Asked receptionist her name again, was told she has "nothing to do with this" and refused to tell me. So, wrong meds, unable to access med recs, receipt for payment to get reimbursed, etc. GO ELSEWHERE ** had to call back because the unpleasant, not too sharp receptionist didnt take my contact info and after holding for 16 min and 47 sec was sent to random voicemail. I don't usually leave reviews however I went in for an appointment that I had made the evening prior. I arrived early yet ended up waiting 45 minutes until I was even seen. When I arrived I was made aware that the provider would be seeing patients virtually only that day, which was fine as I only needed some basic tests done. While in clinic the communication between all staff members was not great resulting in the test I originally took to be sent to the wrong lab. They ended up calling me to come back in to redo a second test, only 20 minutes after I had left. Not only that but they said I'd get my test results in 3-5 days and it has been approximately 12 days, and still no results. Very unprofessional and unorganized. read more

Although this is a 4 star rating, I would prefer to give it 4 1/2 stars as my experience was just what the doctor ordered, pardon the (sorta) pun. I had severe pain in my left hand last month that had not improved for two weeks so on August 22nd out of sizable reluctance (but in much agony) I went to the Edgewater facility where I had been on three past occasions. The receptionist advised there was a two hour wait due to all the people there (it was true) and I might want to visit office on Lincoln where there were just two patients and I could get in much sooner. I thanked her and went. Indeed there were two patients when I arrived at PIC Lincoln half hour or so later but I was told there was an hour wait. I had no choice so I did wait for an hour before going one of the exam rooms (they were all occupied at the time so the receptionist at this location wasn't lying). They did my vitals when I got in, then a short time later a short elderly black lady came in. Initially I was mildly concerned but though monotone, Dr. Claudia was quite caring and knowledgeable. I explained my history of gout (though this time I didn't think my pain was gout related) which she well understood. She didn't think I had anything severe when testing my hand motions but wanted to run X-rays to be sure. Their mobile X-ray technician was out of the area at the time but got there fairly quickly. Tests came back negative. So she gave me a prescription for Prednisone (which I was well familiar with) and told me if I'm still having problems to come back within 10 days and they would check me out again but now at no charge (recent policy update). How nice (since I pay out of pocket)! And I truly needed it. Prednisone has historically been a godsend for me so I thought it would do the trick. Well, it did, that is to past troubled areas like my back and legs. When my 7 days of meds were up the following Monday, the hand pain returned and hit hard. Wednesday I'm back at PIC but this time was seen in a 1/2 hour. After my vitals were taken, a Dr. Vicky came in to see me. Didn't have on a doctor jacket, just regular attire, no big deal, just the observation. So I told her how I relapsed and was in rough shape. She had me do some different hand movements from the previous visit but promptly stopped when she saw I was hurting. She tried finding a brace that would fit my hand but the two she had did not work. When I asked about a steroid injection (which historically has worked well for me), she said they don't do them but would give me a referral. She also prescribed like 50 capsules of Indocin which is great on pain but you must be careful if you have heart issues (which I did in the past). I expected maybe 20-25 capsules for a week to 10 days but 50, that was awesome. Moreover, Dr. Vicky exhibited much genuine compassion throughout my visit, extremely noticeable. I could not have asked for better. And true to their word, my follow up visit was indeed no charge. Come the next day (3 weeks ago Thursday, the 31st), sure enough, I get a call from Illinois Bone/Joint Institute (the referral). I wanted to give the Indocin a few days before I would make an appt. to see them. The Indocin was working but taking longer than expected, perhaps in part due to cutting my 3 a day dosage to one or two a day. I didn't follow up with the referral as my hand was gradually improving, now to the point I take one Indocin like once every two days. My left hand (which never was a problem previously) is like 90% back to normal so I'm quite pleased with PIC. And since I write with my left hand and need it to type (and since I type a lot), my Internet use was limited but the keyboard now feels fairly comfortable. I owe a lot to Dr. Claudia & Dr. Vicky. I noticed quite a few negative reviews from years ago, including one less than two years back but I don't understand. Maybe the front desk person could have been slightly friendlier but I have no complaints. Maybe they had some bad apples in the past. But I received excellent care here and text follow up. It may cost me more to see an urgent care facility than the doc in my medical plan but I save much time and my spirits feel better here than at my doctor's office. I recommend this facility (better than Edgewater, the main reason due to nightmare traffic in the community). They may be short staffed (which is becoming more common due to various changes at many medical facilities these days) but if you come here and need patching up, be patient as the signs at this facility request. You will get seen and get proper treatment. Kudos to those working here. read more

so i was feeling very sick, i showed up at 7:24 PM, waited up front for about a minute because the workers were just talking in the back, and when one of them approached (this hispanic girl with glasses), she asked if i had an appointment, i said no, she said after 7:20, we don't take anymore walk-ins. Front desk staff person is super rude. Also noticed her applauding another new front desk staff person who was getting trained for acting rude to a patient, saying the patient deserved it. The patient had language issues and it was not right for the front desk staff to treat her rudely because English is not her first language. Hope they put the "care" back into their job. If I had known I could have gone somewhere else. My partner and I came in to get a covid test. We had to go to another location to get a return to work form so that way we won't be penalized. I work in the food industry and there are other procedures that must be taken before returning to work. She also told me to take it up with my job and there procedures. Darius on the other hand was welcoming and attentive. He really made me feel as if he was trying to help. I had an appointment at 1:59. Granted appointments run late and the office can be busy, but I was not admitted until an hour after my appointment. When I asked the receptionist politely how late they were running, she was rude and dismissive and did not give me a clear answer or even apologize for that matter. We had the worst medical experience ever here. My 2 year old just started daycare and is having a hard time adjusting. On day 3 she was hysterically crying for 20 minutes and threw up. She did it again the next day and they wanted a doctors note so we booked an appointment here. She had no fever and was acting normal with no other symptoms. We saw Victoria Wolfinger as the PA. Within 30 seconds of coming in she said we needed a COVID test. I explained she did not have COVID symptoms and didn't even get to explain what was going on yet. She proceeded to harass and intimidate me for the next 5 minutes about getting a COVID test saying I could leave and that she wouldn't write a doctors note without it. She still had not heard me explain what was going on or touch my daughter but would not do anything further until I consented to the test. I agreed and asked her to examine my daughter and consider the possibility that it wasn't COVID. She spent 2 minutes examining my daughter and said she did not find anything abnormal and left the room. Someone else came in and id the COVID test. When the results came back NEGATIVE she said to give her Pedialyte and watch her. I asked for the doctors note and she said she couldn't give one because it was up to the daycare to decide how long she needs to be symptom free. The daycare said they absolutely need a note so when I asked the next day again for the note they said I had to come back in and do a different COVID test before they would give her a note. They must have a quota or get paid a bonus if they hit a certain number of COVID tests because that is all they care about. She still never let me explain that both times my daughter threw up was after she was separated from us and had been hysterically crying. She just assumed the only thing it could be was COVID and when the test was negative it must have been wrong so they wanted to do another test for it. read more

I have been here twice. Visit one was seemless. I filled out somw paperwork and gave the receptionist my instance info. A few minutes later I was called into the office by the nurse. She asked me a few questions. I was suffering from a fever, cough, headache, extreme fatigue, trouble breathing. Within a few minutes the doctor was in and said we would do an xray and then a breathing treatment. The entire process rook about 15 minutes maybe 20. I left with steroids and an inhaler and felt great in a few days! Second visit I had a rash in a few places. I went in and had to full out very minimal paperwork as I had been in before. I was called in immediately. The lovely nurse asked me a few questions. She reported my answers to the doctor. He came in and looked at the infected areas. He prescribed me a topical cream and a steroid. I wish I could remember his name as he was sky doctor both visits!!! He is seriously awesome and I don't think I will ever go anywhere else. The bottom line, the place is super clean, everyone is happy and willing to help and the doctor is AMAZING!!!!!!! read more

This place was a godsend one morning when my husband woke up with conjunctivitis. We headed over there early when it opened. We met Dr. Singh, who was super nice. He thoroughly checked out his eye, making sure it was just minor and then gave him the needed drops to cure the problem. The whole process, start to finish, was maybe an hour and everyone was super professional. Don't come here. PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE. I would give less than a star. I was told my insurance would not be accepted despite being in network. So I HAD to pay out of pocket for my appointment. I was informed this when I checked in after arriving. I followed up with the billing dept who decided to process a claim to my insurance for the service after I called questioning why I was told this. They did not inform me of this because I would have requested my refund then. So now I have been double charged with no plans to refund my money until the insurance claim has been fully processed which can take up to a month & a half. The receptionist also had no insight on when or how I would get my results. She just stated that I would receive a call.. I did not. I had to call TWICE, (not including calling billing twice), after waiting over a week, for my results in order to get them. The lack of professionalism is astounding. The only proper service I received was from the black Medical Assistant I believe was her title? She was amazing, thorough and way too good for the company if this is how they present themselves. I have been here 4 times in the past 3 months. If this was a review on only Dr. Singh, it would be 5 stars. 6 stars if it was possible. He gives you all the time and attention in the world to figure out what your issue is. Incredible bed side manner as he can calm you down in even the most scary of circumstances. Could not ask for a better Doctor. Period. However, this is a review of the entire office and the front desk staff earns 1 or 2 stars. There has been an issue just about every time I have dealt with them. First they wouldn't bill my insurance because I didn't have a permanent insurance card when I went in. I had a temporary card and my subscriber number and they still wouldn't accept it. I checked with my HR department the next day (my insurance is through work) and they said there was no reason they couldn't accept it. So that was a pain. Then one time I went in and there was a different doctor on staff than Dr. Singh. This doctor basically made jokes over my issue (which was utterly terrifying at the time but has since been resolved) and left the room before I could finish asking him questions. Then I was told he was writing me a prescription for a procedure to be done the next day at the hospital. I was told I could call the hospital the next day and they would let me in day-of. That turned out to not be true. They told me if the doctor writes "stat" on the order, I could get in day of. The doctor did not write "stat" so I had to go BACK to urgent care to get a new order because he did not write it properly. Another time, I went in at 7:38 on a weeknight to be seen for a small issue that could be taken care of in minutes. Yelp says they are open until 8... And I was denied an appointment. I wasted $20 übering there because they decided to stop taking patients BEFORE closing time. Very unhappy with the front desk staff. But if you can make it past them, Dr. Singh is a godsend and you will be in excellent hands. read more

First there was only myself and one other person in the waiting area and still for some reason, I had to wait a hour and a half. I came in just needing a basic physical & additional testing! I was in at opening on a Saturday & out in under an hour! Initial processing required my BCBS card & filled out some paperwork. All went smoothly a Female Doctor & Nurse attended me, both were jovial & handled my needs relatively quick! Beyond the physical I had blood & urine withdrawn... I like to make sure I'm clean & so they'll test for STDs as well, just ask... results came quickly too 1st pair arrived on Monday & the 2nd pair of testing arrived on Wednesday. Picked up my test result & am happy to know (even though I already did) that everything is CLEAN & good to go!!! I don't really drink so I celebrated with a soda-pop + I had to go back to work! I passed out. Realize how absolutely silly this sounds-so Victorian (the dreaded vapors!) but at a big weekend Birthday party... a lovely lady telling me about seeing the musical Hamilton, a handsome fellow throwing a party for his spouse. Feeling overwhelming hot, then suddenly cold and immediately the need to sit down. This happened in a nanosecond- I didn't even have time to raise my hand, open my mouth or ask for help. That fast. I remember turning around to look for a chair or seat and nothing more. I felt nothing, I remember nothing, I woke up with a head wound and all these concerned partygoers surrounding. My head had hit a table, followed by a solid floor... blood everywhere, A worried friend not allowing me to lay down (dizzy), management afraid I would file some sort of awful legal action against them shoving stacks of documents at me, no memory of what happened, none. I have never had this happen. I was scared and desperately trying to focus. I hadn't had a single drink- not even water. People were trying to help, some panicked, others trying to advise and it was all a blur. My primary care physician's office was closed until Monday. That answering service rude, less than useless- even potentially harmful saying I could not get an appointment for two weeks. Not kidding. I'm bleeding and hit my head. They either did not believe me or did not care- not sure which is more frightening. My Boyfriend loaded me in the car with an ice pack, demanded we go to the ER. Some sliver of rationality had me remembering this office. They were nearby, open, took me in fast. They scanned my Insurance card and ID- They was no line, no wait, minimal paperwork and a doctor saw me immediately. The doctor was professional, patient while being swiftly efficient and kind. They did not demand a ridiculous number of labs or tests. They didn't push pharmaceuticals. I had some blood work to confirm no issues there, neurological tests that quickly ruled out a concussion, a medical exam to assess the damage, stitches, advice to care for my injury and here, one month later: A complete recovery, healed with no permanent evidence or Frankenstein-like scars to show for it. I am extraordinarily grateful. Frankly, this service is expensive. It is also worth it at a quarter of what the ER would have cost and worth more in a desperate, necessary, emergency off hours weekend situation. I was treated immediately with respect and dignity when scared, embarrassed, bleeding and given quality care, a medical diagnosis for what happened (low blood pressure, dehydration and overheated). My appointment was at 9:40am and surprisingly I was called at exactly 9:40. Loren was very nice and efficient as was the MD Dr. Claudia. I have visited this Immediate care twice now. The first time my husband had a broken toe. Let me start by saying that the nurse Desiree is the kindest, warmest nurse. She was so great to my kids and made us feel at ease. I cannot say enough about her. The doctor really took his time to think and ask questions and explain everything. The second time I went after seeing my doctor and not getting anything resolved. Again Desiree recognized us and chatted and was so friendly. Dr. Singh was so wonderful. He took his time and even brought in a laptop to show me an animation so I could understand what was happening with my shoulder. He was very thoughtful! Came in after a car accident. Filled out all the necessary paperwork. Everything went fine. Got a couple of x-rays done. It took me about 2-3 hours to get my checkup done and my x-rays. They only had one physician and the receptionist did my x-rays. Whatever. It was an okay visit. But what I'm mad about is that they didn't tell me that insurance doesn't cover automobile accidents until they sent a bill to my house of $700! When I called their corporate office they told me that there.was no way that the clinics know that insurance doesn't cover automobile accidents. What?? You need to educate your clinics on what is and isn't covered so I don't get charged $700! read more

This place was terrible. My two year old's finger got shut in the car door, and it looked bent. He was screaming, I thought it was broken and immediately took him to the closest place I knew of...this place is down the street from my house. I was seven months pregnant at the time. As we walked in, my son was still crying loudly from the pain. No one offered any kind of human compassion whatsoever. They were all extremely robotic, no one said a word to my son to make him feel better, no one even offered us an ice pack. I had to ask for one. They just asked for my insurance card, cc, and asked me to fill out three pages of paperwork as I was struggling with my son. Not having time to ask what the charges would be for their services, I quickly filled everything out, whilst holding a screaming toddler who was in pain/shock. They took us in, the PA came in and without examining him, looking/touching/holding his finger immediately told me I would need to get him an X Ray. I finally woke up and was like hold up...can you at least take a look at him first. Kept insisting on the x ray, made me call someone who could hold him, once he stopped crying asked if I would want to strap his finger. They charged me 175.00 to strap his finger. My two year old came home and TOOK THE SPLINT OFF HIMSELF. IN A MINUTE. His finger was just bruised, and instead of examining it and helping me find the best treatment option, this place took advantage of my being thrown off and is now charging me an insane amount of money when they could have looked at it confirmed what was wrong, and sent me on my way. Ridiculous. I will not be coming here again, despite this facility's proximity to my house. I'd rather drive to the emergency room. read more

You'd think getting sick on New Year's Day would be the perfect time to fall apart. Christmas is over; and the celebration of reflecting on one more depressing year of dealing with disgusting people serving up one disappointment after another has finally passed. Not nearly. The fun had just gotten started for me! A raging snowstorm hit on the very day my body broke down. I worked with the public through the season, which meant some heathen forgot to wash their hands or managed to breathe their nasty funk all over me and pass along what would be my first gift for 2014. Snow doesn't bother me, but apparently everyone else freaks out once it starts to stick. Regardless of the five pounds of salt dumped for every square inch of highway throughout Cook, Lake, and Mchenry Counties. Oh no!! There's slush on the road and I have to watch how I drive! Seriously? On top of everything I was going through, I could tell no one wanted to believe I was sick. Despite everyone's lack of concern, I managed to locate Physicians Immediate Care through an internet search. As luck would have it, the office was open for business, even though there were large flakes of snow piling up on local roads. I had tried the walk-in clinic off of Old Orchard road and I had been disappointed on several occasions. I even wrote a terrible review about my experience. This immediate care facility was new, I was the only patient there, and therefore I was seen right away. Checking in was a breeze! Daniel Murauski, D.O., was knowledgeable and patient with assessing all of my symptoms. I barely got a chance to sit down in the office before I was swabbed for the flu and screened for bronchitis. Everything checked out normal and it turned out that I just had a really bad cold. I was feeling better already! I had bronchitis once before and it was no walk in the park! However, Murauski did point out that I'd be feeling much worse the following day before I got better. I didn't not heed his warning and regretted it later. The doctor and I went over how I would treat my affliction and I was impressed with all of his suggestions regarding alternative therapies. There's not much you can prescribe for the common cold, so taking this moment to exploit nature's medicines was a very good idea. Murauski had done his research and he locked me in as a returning patient for being able to not only go over what I already knew regarding these therapies; but to offer updated information on those herbal remedies which I had not looked into since the late 90's. The way someone thinks has always been the key to winning me over. Especially if someone can truly put me in my place and I end up learning something. Thanks Doc! I took a fall and wanted to know if I needed to see a doctor. I called my Primary Care physician (once the office opened) and after 20 minutes on hold was told his next open appointment was not for days. I know emergency room visits are expensive and my insurance charges high co-pays/penalties if an ER visit doesn't result in hospitalization. So I called PIC and was told they could see me immediately with no appointment and they had an x-ray machine onsite to see if I had fractured any bones. I found the facility very clean, quiet, safe, convenient and fast. The staff was polite, professional and most important caring. The doctor took his time to listen to my story and did not rush me out afterwards (unlike my regular doctor.) I was the only patient at the time, so I don't know what happens during rush hours - and I haven't seen the bill yet from my insurance, but I was VERY happy with the service received. I would definitely recommend them. UPDATE: I followed up with my Primary Care physician and discovered that Dr. Singh at PIC missed three fractured ribs on my x-ray. He sent me home saying there was nothing wrong and suggesting I get physical therapy. (Another service they offer!) Probably the worst advice for someone with this injury. Easy to get a Sunday appointment appointment on-line less than an hour ahead. Dr. and staff were friendly. Dr. (Caryn) took time to explain diagnosis and treatment thoroughly and answered all questions. They weren't very busy and I was in and out in about 30 minutes. I really want to like this place. It's in my neighborhood, it's brand new, and very clean. As other yelpers mentioned, there's hardly any wait time. That's where the 2 stars come from. Now for the bad... I went in with flu-like symptoms. Headache, day 3 of constant fever of 101 or higher, loss of appetite, body aches and cough. They swabbed my nose, and I tested negative for the flu. They said there's nothing they can do. They gave me an inhaler to help with the breathing, and a note for work. That was it. Next day I feel worse than ever, fever is getting higher. So I called them back and they said just wait it out. This is now day 4 of NON stop fever, and 4 days of PTO I've used (my precious PTO!) Not to mention my boss is probably not happy with the situation... So I called my regular doc who immediately called in a z-pack and a medrol pack. The reason I didn't go to my doc in the first place is because he's only in on MWF. I'm no doctor or anything, but doesn't 4 days of non-stop fever raise a red flag to you? I would say this place is not going to kill you, but if you really want some relief it may not help either. I will not be going back. read more

Appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are also accommodated. A wonderful, caring staff. Able to take X-rays in addition to other high level medical care. Takes most forms of insurance. An EXCELLENT clinic. I was in and out in one hour, picked up my medications on the way home (though the clinic can dispense most meds too), and am now able to rest up for work on Monday.
