Rolled Roasted Corn Chicken, nommy nommy
    Derek B.

TL;DR The view is outstanding, choose the outdoor section (5 starts) Food (3-4 stars) Rolled Roasted Corn Chicken (GET) Beef in Cream Sauce (PASS/TRY) Long form: Being so close to Prague Castle, you'd think there would be more places like this, but Villa Richter definitely has a prime location with a menu that isn't that bad, either. You'll definitely want to go during Lunch so the weather and scenery of Old Town Square and the rest of Prague won't be drowned out by the breeze, though I'm sure the night scene is almost as gorgeous. The only thing we'd recommend from our order was the Rolled Roasted Corn Chicken. The Moist and slightly spiced chicken over a bed of Pureed Potatoes on-top of a Red Wine Reduction was a standard but very well executed flavor combination. The travel buddy had the Beef but they said it was pretty unimpressive compared to the other food that you can get in Prague. They were just happy for the view and the scenery, though. The price point for the meal came out to be around $45 USD for the two of us, drinks included in the price. Not Disneyland-bad for the convenient location.

Apple celery and walnut plus grape

Lunch here was part of our tour, but good sign that our tour guide eat here too! Lovely views and great service and posh loos! Our starter was a wonderful salad with grapes, celery, apple and walnut. Am not normally a big fan of celery but this plate was more balanced with apple so refreshing to eat. Our second course was Ham with horseradish sauce and the absolute best potato-bread dumplings I have had in Prague - they were light and fluffy and I could have happily just munched on that and the herbed butter alone. The ham was decent but the horseradish sauce made it sublime. Our last course was yogurt sorbet - very refreshing and great way to end meal! I wouldn't mind coming back here again.

Stopped by Villa Richter in the afternoon for a glass of wine. Loved warming up in a pretty room with an amazing view. The Riesling was great! Peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle of city center. I would say it is best for small groups, although they had a long table set for a large party coming in that evening.

Delicious meal served with an amazing view of Prague by friendly waitstaff. The pavlova with forest fruit was sublime.

The sauce seemed to have been made from a can (1 star off) as the diced tomatoes tasted different than the whole tomatoes that were added to the dish later; the whole tomatoes tasted way better. My husband got the pinsa alla diavola, which was like a spicy pepperoni pizza. It was fine, but reminded me of a pizza at a kids' birthday party (1 star off), maybe only slightly better. I made a reservation a month in advance, but did not know I had to specifically request for tables outside on the river. When we arrived, only a few outdoor tables were taken, but was told the rest were reserved, so we were seated indoors instead. When we finished our dinner, the same few outdoor tables were occupied. I don't know why the restaurant couldn't just stagger the guests for the outdoor tables according to their reservation times.

It was my second visit to Prague so I was taking my time to see more than the "must see things." As I said, I stumbled onto the restaurant because I was taking in the park where artists were painting, people were reading and I pulled out my phone to use the Merlin app to identify birds that were singing. It was totally picturesque. But I wasn't hungry. So I regretfully moved on without eating there. Imagine the elation a few days later when someone in our group booked a dinner reservation for us at the same place I was regretting having missed! With a group of a dozen of us, I think someone ordered everything on the menu. We were all thrilled. We had appetizers , cocktails and entrees -- everything we had was great! The restaurant is family-owned and we were treated to the son being a primary server for our group. Now and then dad was part of the picture too and we enjoyed the added dynamic. Pretty sure the son is on point for Americans as his English was on point. They were great hosts!

Marina Ristorante has officially become my go-to tradition. I've been to Prague eight times now,…read moreand honestly, this spot is my favorite way to wrap up every single trip. If you're looking for that perfect, view of the city to end your vacation on a high note, this is the place. The views are just unbeatable. You're sitting right on the water with a gorgeous, clear line of sight to Prague Castle--it's honestly pretty magical. The restaurant itself is super clean, peaceful, and has a great, relaxed energy. On our most recent trip, we snagged a spot on the upper deck at a nice, big, comfortable table with our friends. It was the perfect setup to just hang out and soak it all in. Service was excellent as it has been at all our visits. They didn't even allow us to add tip, but we would have give at least 20%. The food is always solid and really tasty, which is why I keep coming back year after year. Ordered a goat cheese salad and my husband tried some type of cream pasta. I've been happy with the pasta with prawns in the past. Definitely keep in mind that prices have crept up over time. For lunch--without any drinks--it set us back about $50 a person, and we just split a dessert. It's definitely a bit of a splurge for lunch, but for that view and the consistency, I still think it's worth it. Pro-Tip: If you're planning on going, book way in advance. We tried to get a dinner reservation during for our whole trip, but they were totally booked out. We ended up doing a 1:30 PM lunch instead, and it actually worked out perfectly. Even with the price jump, I'm still a huge fan. It's easily one of my favorite spots in the city. Just make sure you get that reservation in early!

It's designed like you're on a big yacht. We arrived without reservations and was able to get a table 5 right away. But the place was quite busy. Italian cuisine. Huge menu! Very good food. We enjoyed just about everything we ordered. We particularly enjoyed the T-Bone steak. It's a large portion that can feed 2-3. Comes pre cut with the bone. Perfectly cooked and tender. The Tiramisu was spot on. Moist and drizzled with rum, it was a great finish to a delicious meal! We didn't care for the Pasta Alla Carbonara. A bit too rich for our taste. Very good service and they speak English. Happy Travels!!
