Rolled Roasted Corn Chicken, nommy nommy

TL;DR The view is outstanding, choose the outdoor section (5 starts) Food (3-4 stars) Rolled Roasted Corn Chicken (GET) Beef in Cream Sauce (PASS/TRY) Long form: Being so close to Prague Castle, you'd think there would be more places like this, but Villa Richter definitely has a prime location with a menu that isn't that bad, either. You'll definitely want to go during Lunch so the weather and scenery of Old Town Square and the rest of Prague won't be drowned out by the breeze, though I'm sure the night scene is almost as gorgeous. The only thing we'd recommend from our order was the Rolled Roasted Corn Chicken. The Moist and slightly spiced chicken over a bed of Pureed Potatoes on-top of a Red Wine Reduction was a standard but very well executed flavor combination. The travel buddy had the Beef but they said it was pretty unimpressive compared to the other food that you can get in Prague. They were just happy for the view and the scenery, though. The price point for the meal came out to be around $45 USD for the two of us, drinks included in the price. Not Disneyland-bad for the convenient location.

Apple celery and walnut plus grape

Lunch here was part of our tour, but good sign that our tour guide eat here too! Lovely views and great service and posh loos! Our starter was a wonderful salad with grapes, celery, apple and walnut. Am not normally a big fan of celery but this plate was more balanced with apple so refreshing to eat. Our second course was Ham with horseradish sauce and the absolute best potato-bread dumplings I have had in Prague - they were light and fluffy and I could have happily just munched on that and the herbed butter alone. The ham was decent but the horseradish sauce made it sublime. Our last course was yogurt sorbet - very refreshing and great way to end meal! I wouldn't mind coming back here again.

Stopped by Villa Richter in the afternoon for a glass of wine. Loved warming up in a pretty room with an amazing view. The Riesling was great! Peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle of city center. I would say it is best for small groups, although they had a long table set for a large party coming in that evening.

Delicious meal served with an amazing view of Prague by friendly waitstaff. The pavlova with forest fruit was sublime.

I had beef neck sous-vide with a lager. The beef was accompanied by a poached egg, bread dumplings, and a dill sauce. I was expecting something heavy, but it wasn't. It was really excellent. We ordered the beef cheeks, which were served cold (likely as intended but not what I was expecting). Flavor was fine but not great. The burger was also just okay. For something so standard, it was passable but not likely to order again. Our favorite dishes were 1) the duck and 2) potato and vegetable patties. Duck was crispy, hot, and had pretty good flavor! The vegetable patties were also crispy and balanced, slightly sweet. The beer list was limited but we liked what we ordered. Hate to be a broken record but we've had better while in the city. Wouldn't recommend this place to a friend since it was just average.

We ordered the meatloaf, fried cheese, and plenty of Czech beer. The food was delicious, fresh, and came out quickly. The Czech beer was fantastic--so smooth and easy to drink that you barely realize how many liters you've had! The dessert wasn't really my thing, but everything else was excellent. Service was outstanding. The servers were friendly, attentive, and incredibly efficient even with the restaurant buzzing with people and the game on. The vibe is what makes Lokal so special--lively, casual, and quintessentially Czech. If you're in Prague and want great food, excellent beer, and a fun local atmosphere, this is a must-visit.

The place was packed upon entrance so it may benefit to schedule a reservation for a larger party. As I was by my lonesome, I sat down at a table and began to take in the atmosphere. The hall was breathing with life of people enjoying drinks and chatting, so don't expect a quiet dining experience. My waitress recommended I try the sausage variety as an appetizer so I gave it a go. The food came out after about five minutes. I could be intoxicated by the delight of visiting Europe but the sausages were so delicious and fresh. The mustard and horseradish which accompanied the dish were delicious and complimented the protein so well. For the main dish, my waitress also recommended the Chicken and Rice. The food followed my appetizer about five minutes after. Upon first sight, the portions and composition of the plate spoke to me in a commanding yet soft whisper. The chicken was so tender that it melted off the bone. The rice was so dense yet fluffy. Each bite combination sprinkled with the gravy made for a euphoric taste in each chew. In other words, the food was incredible. This restaurant provided to perfect opportunity to try out traditional Czech food without leaving a hole in you wallet. The pricing, the vibes, and the seemingly unlimited beer made for an authentic experience. It is definitely worth a visit here, or at any of the Lokál chains if you find yourself in Prague.
