I've used Piano Solutions twice to move an upright piano. Both times I was very happy! They were easy to schedule (both via phone and email) and gave prompt replies and quotes. The movers themselves were friendly and professional. They showed up on time, checked out the path the piano would have to move, set up ramps and positioned the truck lift outside. We live on a small one way city street so I appreciated that the movers found a place off the street so traffic could still flow freely. No complaints at all. Although I haven't purchased any pianos or instruments here, I have been to their showroom and have attended two concerts in the performance hall. Such was the case for my most recent visit. After browsing through their rows of grands and uprights, I entered the large room to listen to the performances of a pair of pianists that were brought in by the business to entertain. The pair alternated in short sets and really displayed the range of sounds and emotions that an artist can extract from the equipment. It really makes a difference when someone that talented plays an instrument that you might be considering. I did notice that for the performance, nobody from the business made a point of introducing the artists. They had to introduce themselves which seem like an oversight. If they are going to continue providing concerts, surely someone could be available to do the introductions. If you are interested in purchasing a piano or guitar, there is a large selection here and the arrangement of them seems conducive to "test driving" them before you purchase. I was absolutely amazed that this place even existed. An entire store of phenomenal pianos?! We were encouraged to explore and play the pianos - and someone that worked there was quick to wipe down all pianos afterward to keep everything clean. I was impressed. They also had a system in place where if you purchased a piano from them, you could then trade it in down the road. All the time letting my wife figure out what she liked and what didn't feel right. She eventually found the perfect fit. At no time did the salesman push us in any direction. He just used his knowledge to help her find the piano that was right for her. We spent over 2 hours with the salesman and the owner and enjoyed every minute. They did some talking, made a call to Yamaha and we bought a piano. My wife just plays at home to amuse herself and we bought a nice midrange instrument. But the whole time there we were treated like professional musicians buying a concert grand piano for a performance at Carnegie Hall! I was searching for a specific piano book - even had the ISBN. The gentleman with whom I spoke over the phone told me - no they do not have the book, but they have others like it. He started naming them. Well these other choices were books in stock that he needed to sell. The format of the 'other' books wasn't even close to what I needed. Told him I wasn't interested in them. He became condescending and arrogant - giving me his opinion about what I was looking for vs what he had in stock. Additionally, I needed to hire a piano teacher to teach the material in either book. Uhhh, excuse me, but this was a gift for someone! If I wanted his opinion, I would have asked for it. This guy waited on me at the store one other time. Again they did not have the book in stock, but it could be ordered and would take "10 to 14 days to come in." Really??? Amazon Prime 2-3 days, MusicNotes pdf download - Instant! Purchased a digital piano from here during the Covid shutdown. I did a ton of research and was nervous buying a piano I hadn't played before, but all the people I spoke to at this location were super friendly, helpful and not pushy at all. They were very knowledgeable about the specifications of different pianos which was really helpful. They were very professional in their communication. When I finally received the piano, there was a huge dent even though the packaging was fine outside. I told them and they took care of everything right away and sent a replacement. We needed our baby grand polished since the top coat was damaged with unremovable smudge marks, after dad tried to eliminate cat paw marks with windex, the damage was irreversible. We bought a used player piano that had worked perfectly when we bought it but on delivery had some malfunctions. He definitely turned a less than favorable matter into a wonderful buying experience. His customer service was been exceptional from himself, the owner...coming over to make matters right, to his delivery guys who were very friendly, and Mike who is really the "piano man" of technicians. We weren't there when the technician was working on the computer so we had no clue what he was doing, our house-sitter was there..When we got home with the new system installed and the user manual opened to exactly the page we needed to learn how to turn it on and connect.
