2 things. First, I brought by David Yurman bracelet in to get fixed. It looked fine and was whole - in one piece as when I bought it. It had a small loop in the stringing that needed to be tightened. They reached out a week later and told me it could not be fixed, come get it. When I returned it was in a pile - see picture. There was no offer to pay to reassemble it, just "here's your bracelet" although now it is just a pile of junk. Second, the woman at the front desk was a mean, snarling, uptight and obviously not very bright spokesperson for the store. She immediately told me it was not their fault, that it fell apart "as soon as they took it out of the bag" and I have no recourse. This woman needs to find a new job. Put her in a back room where she has zero customer interaction or under the bridge from whence she came. It's alright bitter, unhappy, unhealthy shopkeeper, I'll make sure the news of your attitude and customer service finds a much larger audience. Maybe you'll learn the lesson that if you don't treat the customer correctly, it will have consequences. read more

I had 2 watch batteries replaced and left a ring to be repaired. The watches were done in less than 15 minutes and during that time I discussed possibly having my ring redesigned and they walked me through the process. I had several items I wanted checked out for to see if repairs needed. I completely trusted their honest opinions recommendations and suggestions and could not be happier with the result. They beautifully repaired a tennis bracelet where the latch was loose, re did the head of my engagement ring and repaired the channels of an anniversary band to keep the diamonds safe inside. Extremely reasonable prices and it was all completed in just a few days. Staff very friendly. Family run business. Only open weekdays. Parking was no issue. read more

I went to Pickens to have them create a stackable ring to go with one I already had and model it after a friend's beautiful Tiffany ring. I already had a piece of jewelry to provide the white gold & diamonds, but needed an expert jeweler to bring the piece to life. He did - it's beautiful and was a gift to myself for completing my MBA. I have used Pickens for years for jewelry repair and creation. I find them helpful and knowledgeable. They do a lot of the jewelry repair for other jewelry stores around Atlanta. I was searching for a place that would engrave a watch I purchased. It was pretty last minute and only had a few days to get it done. I also wasn't willing to let anyone (i.e. Things Remembered) engrave on my expensive, designer watch. Every place I called told me it would be at least 2 weeks until I could get my item back. That wasn't gonna work. Thankfully, I gave Pickens a call. The woman I spoke with let me know that they could probably do it and get it back to me either the same day or the next day. PERFECT! I hopped in my car and went to the store. The store itself is small but the jewelry is beautiful. The woman I had spoken with on the phone immediately took a look at the watch and said if I had about 10 mins they could do the engraving right then. Talk about a lifesaver! They will tell you one price when you drop off your jewelry repairs, then when it is time for you to pick up your jewelry the price will be 30-40% higher than the original quote. I came here to have my fiance's Hamilton stainless steel watch engraved. The watch was about a grand and was going to be gifted to my fiance on our wedding day so I didn't want just any engraving place to do it. After researching Pickens and another hand engraved jewelers, I decided to go with Pickens because the hand engraved jewelers cannot work with stainless steel. Supposedly hand engraving only works on softer metals such as gold and platinum or at least that was what I was told. I drove to Pickens on a Tuesday afternoon to see if they can engrave the small flat clasp closure on the back side of watch. This watch model is called the Hamilton open heart model so the back face of the watch provides a view into the watch's inner working and therefore has no surface area to be engraved. I told the rep I wanted to see if they can engrave the flat clasp closure instead. She took the measurement and told me to leave the watch with the wordings I wanted to have engraved. She later called me that afternoon that the watch was ready and can be picked up anytime during open hours. When I came to pay, I was stunned that they were able to fit "till the end of time" across a less than 1 cm surface. Needless to say I was thrilled! Better yet, the charge was something like $20 or $40. I was budgeting about $100 because no one else can do it. I certainly was not going to get a $1,000 watch engraved at Things Remembered. I was beyond satisfied with the product and the speediness of the service. I highly recommend this establishment for all your fine jewelry engraving. They carry high end and one of a kind jewelry here too! I even joked to the rep that they need to charge more for their engaving because they're the only ones who would do it. Hey supply in demand. Hopefully they're not going to raise their engraving prices too much or too soon. read more

Horrible Customer Service. I brought my wedding ring in to have the shank repaired a few months back and dealt with Hays. He told me it could be fixed without putting another shank on it. I was told I would receive a call when It was ready. That call did not come so I followed up with them and picked it up. After a few months, the fit was loose and there was entirely too much play in the shank. I took it back to Hays and he agreed and said they would fix it again. I received a call when it was ready; to my dismay, it was exactly in the same condition as when I dropped it off a few days earlier. When I questioned Walter's wife why it was not checked for a tight fit prior to picking it up, she got defensive with me. Hays then came out and took full responsibility for the situation and promised they would make it right, which I thanked him for doing. I then received a call later that day from his father, Walter, who was a total jerk on the phone with me and started to disparage the shank and how it was not done correctly to begin with, etc. He said he would speak to the jeweler and to give him 24 hours. He called and said the ring was ready to be picked up without explaining what was done. I had to ask and he was very short with me. Upon picking up the ring, a blonde lady waited on me and I told her I would probably need to speak with Hays, who saw me, nodded his head, and went back to working on the computer. I then received an eye roll from the lady when I asked for documentation that there was a warranty of one year from the second time it was fixed. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE - THEY ARE CLUELESS ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE, NOT TO MENTION THE SHODDY REPAIR WORK. read more
