Ace runs more like an indoor "courts in outdoor parks" where everyone just looks or waits for a court, based on skill level, but you pay for it through membership. The first visit on a Sunday morning was disappointing as we waited an hour before we had enough intermediate players to play with. The second visit was on a Thursday evening. It was very crowded with long wait and we only played two games in an hour. We had high hopes, hoping it would offer skill level based open plays in an organized and fun way, but so far we are very disappointed by this unorganized system at Ace.

The Banks Course is absolutely beautiful and provided the perfect setting for our event. It was a hot and humid day, and with a large group, there were plenty of opportunities for things to go wrong -- but everything went off without a hitch. Shari was amazing throughout the planning process, helping us stay organized and making sure all the details came together. Mike and the golf staff did an outstanding job on the day of the outing. He kept everything running smoothly and even managed to accommodate a few of our golfers who showed up a little less prepared than they should have -- including without clubs! A special thank you to Rakesh and the culinary team. We worked with him to refine the menu and add a little more spice to suit our group. The butter chicken was a huge hit. In fact, two of our members came up to me during dinner specifically to ask who we had brought in to cater the event. They were genuinely surprised when I told them, "It's all Forsgate." From registration and golf to dinner and the overall service, the entire event was seamless. Hosting an outing of this size takes a tremendous amount of coordination behind the scenes, and the Forsgate team made it look easy. Beautiful course, excellent food, and an exceptional team. PCC could not have asked for a better venue or experience.

The facility is spacious and offers something for every age group, including a baby zone, larger kids' area, soccer field, basketball court, slides, and more. I was impressed by how clean everything was. Staff members were constantly cleaning, hand sanitizer stations were easy to find, and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I also love that two adults get free admission with each paying child. The day pass is valid all day. You can leave and come back later at no extra cost as long as you keep your wristband. We will definitely be back and will be recommending to our friends and family!

However, I played a few days ago, and my group was harassed for several holes by the rangers, for no good reason. They wanted us to skip a hole, even though there were no golfers waiting on us. They claimed we were playing too slowly, although the group behind us were at least a full hole back. The rangers were rude to us and argumentative, ruining the enjoyment of our round. Then, when they came a hole later, they thanked us for speeding up, and making up the "15 minutes" we were supposedly behind. (We did not change our pace of play at all). I have been playing this course for years, but if this is how they treat paying customers going forward, I won't be back. Be warned!

The owners have a unique arrangement here: a fully functional bowling alley plus Chinese restaurant…read more(take out). It's a clever combination that seems to do very well. It's feels a little odd walking up to an empty bar in what was previously a dine-in restaurant or lounge space to order or pick up your food. And they don't open until 4 or 5 PM most nights. Susan and her husband are from Taiwan rather than Fuzhou - likely a strong influence in the preparation and taste of their dishes. This may also account for the reason why certain items typically found at your average Chinese takeout (i.e. Wonton soup) are missing from the menu. While I was never a huge General Tso's fan theirs is unbelievably delicious and quickly became my top choice. I will occasionally switch to their chicken Lo Mein or sesame chicken which are just as good. An added bonus is that they understand allergies (gluten at least) and will check ingredients if there's a customer concern. My wife (celiac's disease) often chooses their rice noodle soup, tofu and various other dishes and has never had an issue. When in the Middletown, NJ area and you're craving "really good Chinese take out, try this place. You're sure to be bowled over!

I know of the Complex well as a child, it is 5 fields compromised in one area, adjacent to the New…read moreJersey Turnpike. During baseball season, it's as busy as it can be at all times of the day. What's terrific about the field is that they all have drainage systems that help get the fields all ready for play after rainfall. Some of the "bigger" fields also have scoreboards that are fully functional and serve a great purpose, especially during the summer when travel leagues are in full form. There's also a snack bar in the middle of the complex, where the prices are fair for what you get, so if you're the type that likes to get something or you're in for a long day at the fields, it's a great place to recharge. I'd also like to take a moment to discuss Joe Niglio Field, which was named in honor of my first boss, and former next-door neighbor, who passed away after a long illness in 2006. After his passing, East Brunswick Baseball League (EBBL) wanted to do something special in commemoration for all that Joe did for the league. A lot of his contributions helped make EBBL what it is today. When the field opened in his honor in 2007, I was there for the dedication ceremony. I was also on that very same field umpiring on opening night, and I feel very honored to be given that privilege. Overall, while I spent many a-times playing and umpiring on these fields, I can truly say with nostalgia that this is a great facility for the town, and for children for all ages to use and play on.
