I would not hesitate to recommend William to any of my friends and family for family photos. We met last weekend and just got our pictures back and we are absolutely thrilled with how beautiful they came out and how natural they look - these are something we will treasure forever. Because he is so kind and warm, the kids decided to be best friends with him right away which made getting happy shots so easy. When we first decided on William, he has all new clients sign a standard contract. I noticed that it was also a release for permission to have the photos on his website (to help future clients see his photography style) - but because I am on the paranoid side, I asked to have that tiny clause struck out - and he could not have been more helpful and gracious about it to respect our privacy. He was also extremely helpful - recommending best times of day for the best light, clothing suggestions, location recs, etc, etc. We also had a "bargain" package from a deal site and I didn't realize until after I purchased that the pictures were only medium-resolution - but we have the option of paying a little more per picture to upgrade to high-resolution. I just checked to see how the pictures would look in a photo-card and the resolution was only an issue for a 5x7 card (or larger) with a single image. With all other cards - smaller cards and cards that used multiple images, the medium resolution images worked just fine. For me, this works well - I get a deal, can print beautiful pictures myself for my photo album, and still make Christmas cards with them. And if I decide I must get a poster size of my favorite, I just send William a request and a small upcharge and it's done. Thanks William for a wonderful experience! We just took our family photo for our youngest's 1 year celebration with William and the pictures turned out fabulous! William was very responsive and was super helpful before, during and after the photo shoot. We received our initial shots within 24 hours! He is very friendly and great with children. I needed a photographer to do some shots for us to put on our wedding website and maybe use for our displays at our wedding. I happened upon William's website and we are very thankful that we did! After seeing his portfolio and speaking with him I decided to do a photo-shoot. He was really energetic, friendly, knew his stuff, and our photos came out great. He had us do a variety of poses that he thought would be good and listened to what we wanted as well. He had very good attention to detail (placing our hands a certain way and posing in certain ways) to make for the best shots. I met William for a photo shoot for my two young sons at Bayland in Palo Alto. I loved the natural setting that he choose for the photo session. It allowed the boys to be boys and get photos taken in a relaxed and fun way. By the end, my younger son said he was so glad that William came with us on our little walk. The photos turned out great with many wonderful natural shots - not posed. One thing William does to help the kids relax is that he talks to them through out letting the storytelling expressions shine through. We recently did a photo shoot with our 8 month old daughter. It was her first photo shoot and the photos were fantastic ! William was awesome ! We talked on the phone a few times before we arranged the shoot. William took the time to understand our requirements, and planned the shoot very well. He chose an outdoor location which was convenient for us and picked a time and spot where we could make the best use of natural light. William has a very friendly and easy going personality and is natural with children. He is very accommodative and was super patient during the whole shoot. He is not a clock watcher and will stay on till he can get the perfect shots. Post shoot , William edited and uploaded the photos (around 500) by end of the day. I give William/Picture Chest Photography a 5 star hands down! I called William in a panic and very last minute last December to photograph my family for our holiday card. We booked William for family photo session through one of those deal websites. He was very prompt and responsive throughout the entire process. I have a 2 year old toddler, which is not an easy age to photograph. William was really laid back throughout the entire session and knew enough about kids to just go with the flow. He didn't try and force her to do anything (as that would have been futile). He just stayed ready with his camera as she ran around the park. We were able to get a few good family shots where my husband, 2 year old daughter and I were all looking at the camera. Jackpot! His pictures are really natural and crisp, and didn't have any of those over processing/ saturation tricks that some photographer use to compensate for a technically poor photo. We've never invested in a formal photo shoot but we were having a hard time getting good shots of my family together. William caught our eye as his portfolio felt natural and spontaneous as opposed to the many formal studio packages we came across. And true to our hopes, he produced gorgeous shots of family set in Shoreline Park. He sent us hundreds of pics (a little bit too much to tell the truth). And amongst them, our favorite ones were the most unguarded shots, taken in-between the more posed moments so William's unending clicks paid off. We hope to repeat our experience next year. TIP: There were so many shots of us in the same clothes in variations of the same background. In hindsight, I would have maybe layered clothes and gotten in a few more looks and suggested two or three different locations within the park to obtain more variety of photos. read more

From the moment we became in contact he was prompt, easy going, professional and collaborated very well with our family's style. Once we met at Shoreline Park for the first time it's as if my two year old son, husband and I had known William for years. He was able to make all 3 of us very at ease capturing moments rather than posing for them. It was a very natural experience and not forced. We had a wonderful time with William and loved his photos. I purchased a deal for a family photo shoot in late 2012. Since my parents and brother and sister-in-law were going to visit for the holidays, I asked William what he could do for an extended family photo session. He offered me a great deal to do a big group session and also shoot each nuclear family separately. We met at Shoreline park in Mountain View (William's idea) on a drizzly day for a fun and relaxed photo session. He is great at capturing people's natural interactions. William really got some great shots of our son chasing ducks and also of us chasing our son around. We also did a couple formal posed family portraits at the end. He was great at following up with us and sent us proofs to view within a short amount of time. William suggested the venue, which was perfect - gorgeous scenery and fall colors.
