Photo session experience from December 2021: Drove an hour for the session. We were assigned a photographer "in training". Entire session went by and we got "great pose!" And "good lookin family". Then waited 2hrs for the photos and for the disc. Then the main manager said they'll have to "process it further" and "would give us a call once it's ready". No phone call ever. I called to follow up multiple times after, nobody would get back to me. Waste of time and money. My hypothesis? They forgot to put in the memory chip and nothing was captured. read more

Just had our pictures taken here for personal keepsake, although they commonly do Christmas greetings too. The appointment time was honored and the photographer was very bubbly and good with babies. Process from start to finish was about an hour and a half (shooting session was 15 minutes). Then some waiting then pricing and printing. Lots of little promotions too. Got a big ol package for $150 including all Images on a CD and a bunch of prints and framed ones too. read more

I really wanted to like them but I feel cheated. Went in for 3 month milestone photos and they didn't meet my expectations. We booked the last appointment of the day since it's what was available but when we got there, we still had to wait half an hr for the photographer to finish with the client before us. We took our photos and when it came time to select our package, the photographer originally said we would have to come back to pick them since the store was closing - I drove over a half an hour from Milpitas to take them and was not coming back. I told her it was okay and we were only interested in digitals so if we could pick them still it would be great. They don't have any printed information regarding digital packages (either online nor in-store) so I had to go based on what the photographer said were the packages. We ended up getting bamboozled into purchasing the entire package, but seriously there were only maybe 2-3 that we actually liked. The editing skills are subpar - take a look at the photo attached. I asked for a Christmas shot and this is what I was given. I could've done a better job blending or even maybe a different background would've been better. I tried reaching out to corporate when I received an email asking to review my experience. **Crickets** I didn't hear back from them. This was my first and last time using Picture People to capture these fleeting moments. I spent $160 and did not get my monies worth. Definitely should've gone elsewhere. I will not be a returning customer and I hope those considering Picture People really reconsider. read more

Having recently graduated, I needed to find a place nearby that was professional yet affordable to take my graduation photos. Since I had no experience and wanted something nearby, I looked at local groupon deals for graduation photos. After buying the deal and setting the appointment, everything was set. Picture people was even kind enough to give a 24 hour courtesy call, before the appointment time. Extremely professional. The photo shoot took 30-40 minutes. They will help pose you if you let them know that you have no idea what you're doing. The entire time, they could sense my nervousness (I mean, unless you're a natural, it feels a little awkward smiling in front of a giant camera while two people are staring at you), so they decided to make conversation. The experience was great. The price was good. I left satisfied with great quality photos. Only other thing I wanted to mention is that they are located inside the BuyBuyBaby, next to Best Buy. Its a little confusing for people who don't know that, but once you do - you're set. read more

Jaycene did an amazing job! We recently went in for our maternity photo shoot and were pleasantly surprised with all of the poses and attention to detail Jaycene had during our session. From making sure my necklace wasn't backwards to ensuring my hair wasn't in my face, she was truly helpful, making each shot count! She was very polite, knowledgeable and helped us decide on a package we would like. We ended up getting all of the prints and a frame of our favorite photo that we could hang in our home the same day! Can't say I had a good experience here, came in with my little one with a groupon deal. Other than trying to upsell us to their $99 digital package they didn't really seem to care very much. This place is a sad little studio, that really doesn't make any sense for the amount of money they charged and the quality they offer. NOT TRUE COLORS - the print copy vs the computer copy is completely different. The color and the lighting on the print photo is much darker. They don't care about adjusting or reprint for you. QUALITY - the paper quality is much cheaper than other studio photos. PRINTS - took over 45mins of waiting for 8 sheets. We end up with 1 pose, 8 sheet of the same thing and it took over 2hrs. Overall, I really won't have come if not I was gifted a groupon deal. read more

Absolutely a joke..... Take our photos, apt was 5/30, we show up at 4:45 to be early... Don't get an until 6:30, and it takes them over an hour to load the photos. We went to Two different stores and use five different kiosks to learn that the pictures were never ever uploaded. So when I call them they tell me I'm gonna have to drive all way back out there... Mind you it's a 2 Hour Dr. So I drive all the way back out there and they're closed. So I called him again and they said that they would mail me the photos and that they would include some Christmas cards for the hassle... Well guess what they never mailed them. And when I get to the store for the third time so that's six hours of driving, and the girl on the phone assures me that she'll have it ready for me when I come I get here and guess what... They don't have it what a surprise. So six hours of driving, three days of waiting, and still no photos... The first day I came there was a lady who is there for the third time trying to get her pictures fixed, And when I came the third time another lady came to get her pictures fixed.... Picture People is one of the few portrait studios left. Sears and Walmart Portrait Studios have already gone bankrupt. My mother-in-law was asking us why we hadn't taken any formal portraits of our son who is 6 months old so we decided to take Caleb there for his 0.5 birthday photo shoot ;-). They have an online reservation system which is very convenient. They also have a bunch of offers/coupons on their website which is nice. They are located inside the Buy Buy Baby store so I would have never have found it without the Internet. The woman who was there taking pictures was very friendly and great at getting Caleb to smile. During the photo shoot you can take as many pictures and choose as many backgrounds as you want. You can then just pick the pictures you want to buy at the end. We took a family portrait which was perfect except my hair was sticking up and out of place....the lady did some PhotoShop magic and BAM no more flyaway hair...no wonder those models in magazines always look so perfect! Overall it was a positive experience but it was a bit on the pricey side. I think it was like $20 per sheet. One sheet equals 1 - 8x10 or 2 - 5x7, or 5 - 4x6 or 8 - wallet size. We ended up getting 4 sheets (only one picture allowed on each sheet) for $65 bucks including the Mother's Day coupon offer. read more

I went with 2 stars because I've definitely had a better experience with Picture People - and it's unfortunate they closed the Stoneridge location. We scheduled our session weeks in advance and yet they were out of paper for our photo the day we arrived - SMH. It took 9 DAYS to get them completed which was quite the inconvenience, as it's 30 miles from home. Teresa took some really nice pictures and had a very good rapport with us. However, when I told her my frustration about the aforementioned inconvenience she said she had to talk to her regional manager about it. I think it's a bummer she's not empowered to make a decision to resolve a problem. And even worse, I had to call them back myself a week later and the resolution offered was laughable. We will definitely not be returning to this location in the future. I wouldn't recommend it. read more

This Picture People is located inside Buy Buy Baby. We showed up ready to spend some money on our twins. There were no customers waiting, and one employee. Our experience here wasn't the best. We repeatedly tried to ask what the prices for photo packages were, if a digital CD was available, and if we could make an appointment. The employee wouldn't answer our questions, but kept answering the phone and checking her cell phone. It was a bummer because we were excited to buy some photos. I'm curious if the employee has never seen the elusive family with two moms. We ended up leaving without a purchase or plans to return. If you're trying to get a walk in appointment, this is probably a good spot. If there's a delay, you have the whole store to tromp around in. read more

Had a good experience here even though my baby was fussy. The photographer was very patient and accommodating to get newborn picture shots. Even though she was only able to get 5 minutes of taking pictures before she started crying again we were able to get good pictures and I am very satisfied and will come back to this location to take more pictures as my baby grows. I took Halloween pictures here yesterday... with my 7yo & 3month old sons. We did lots of poses and an outfit change. We spent quite a lot of time here and got wonderful photos. My photographer was Alex and she was wonderful and friendly and not at all thrown off by my slightly uncooperative 7yo. She did an amazing job accommodating our shoot. And got my little one to smile in almost every photo. I was very pleased with the selection of pictures and the package we chose. I also took my maternity photos here back in June and those came out great too! read more

I would only come here for baby pictures if I had no other option. My husband and I brought our 3 month old son for his first pictures and the experience was not good. Our photographer was nice but did not seem experienced with taking newborn/baby pictures. I had to suggest the poses for my son. She had no clue what to do and seemed disinterested. During the one pose she took a picture of my son in his diaper (with the blue line!) and thought that was okay. The pictures she took were terrible except for one. I regret buying the digital album for $99 because the digital photos are not even good quality or high definition. For $99 I would expect a better quality camera. I went to JCP Portraits in Pleasanton and they did an amazing job for the same price point. The JCP digital album pictures were sharp, clear with great lighting. Review #239 - 2016 I scheduled an online appointment with The Picture People about a month ago because I bought a Groupon offer to do our family Christmas photo session. I wanted to schedule an appointment on a Saturday, Dec. 10th, since it happened to coincide with my birthday, but they didn't have anything available. Thank goodness because it all worked out considering that it was raining like crazy on Saturday and my little family came down with the flu so none of us were in the photo mood. We showed up for our appointment on Sunday, Dec. 11th, at noon and they were finishing up with the other family who were there before us. This location is a lot smaller compared to the one at the mall because it only has one photo room. Our photographer, Celia, did a good job getting our family photos taken and definitely did a great job capturing our little angel's first Christmas. The reason why I am only giving 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because she didn't do a very good job at positioning our family photos. I felt like some of the poses looked a little awkward and some of the final products had photos where we weren't all paying attention to the camera, which she should've been able to retake considering she can see from the digital camera. I don't come here often but when I do the staff is airways friendly and helpful. The pictures have always turned out fantastic and at a great deal, too! Tip: make an appointment online when you have little kids so that you aren't waiting and the kids aren't getting hangry. Went to this place this morning and had a scheduled appointment and was not seen until 25 minutes after our scheduled time. Once we did get in all that was offered was a white screen?? No options?? There was not appropriate equipment to even address any glare issues. Then the photographer Maria spent more time asking questions of my little one but all that was doing was agitating them. I had to ask her to please stop and just take the pictures!!! Then after we had to wait another 30 more minutes to see the pictures. After this, we stepped away to make time move quicker and upon returning, we were told our CD was not ready due to technical difficulties. Very frustrating experience and lacked professionalism. I have been going to Picture People for over a year now and I had probably the best experience when I went in February with Semir. My son does not warm easily to people, it takes longer than the 30 minute appointment but Semir was great with him and got some great shots. By far the best photographer I have had there. I have some complaints about the ordering process and their viewing system which could be made a lot easier (why can't you narrow down the entire photo shoot to just your favorites, why can't you view two similar photos side by side so you can see which one you like best, I mean come on people this is basic stuff here) and less time consuming for a parent who's two year old is running all over the place. read more

I bought a groupon and scheduled an appt. I tried calling about an hour before my appt to let them know that I got in a car accident on the way over there however, they didn't answer their phone. I tried calling several times to let them know and to reschedule. Finally someone answered and they were so rude. They said well we don't have any appointments left so you can just come in and wait. I asked how long the wait time would be and she said she didn't know. But that's not the issue. The issue was her attitude. I asked to speak with the manager and guess what....ATTITUDE! We had about given up on all portrait studios since the level of customer service and picture quality was so lacking. We went to a studio at our local mall for newborn shots and we were so disappointed with the lack of attention and had a hard time even choosing one picture that we liked. Until one day, we went shopping at Buy Buy Baby and saw this little Picture People studio. We were a little gun shy since this is the same company that runs the studio at Stoneridge, but I really wanted pictures of our kids so we figured we would give it one last chance. Especially since the people at the studio were very friendly and there was no chaotic mass of people in the waiting area! Let me tell you - this is the BEST Picture People that I have ever been too. Trenae was our photographer on that first visit and has been our photographer ever since - yes - I love pictures of my kids... =) Not only is she extremely courteous, but she has the ability to capture those fleeting smiles and awesome moments that toddlers/babies have. Now the only problem that we have... is which amazing picture to choose from! In fact, we were just there this past weekend for Halloween/Fall pictures and ended up buying the CD & a couple of frames. (I did mention that I love pictures of my kids, right?) He helped us get a smile out of my little guy and was patient even though it took me an hr to figure out which 1 pose I wanted... Last month I took my 9 month old daughter here and had one of the best photo experiences ever. For anyone with an infant you know they can be all over the place and uncooperative but photographer Trenea was AWESOME, she was able to engage and get my daughters attention and the photos came out beautiful. So we got there a little early for our appointment and a family was just finishing up and all you heard was how please they were with their session. After finishing up with them she came and greeted us and we talked about what I wanted. Trenea listened and was able to make my vision come together. We had a outfit change and she waited patiently, she even got creative and used the angel wings on my daughter. She was so helpful in the selection process.... being that she was able to capture so many good images it was hard to pick just one so of course I bought the cd. I've been to several different photo studios but here I felt welcomed, I wasn't rushed and I'm soo in love with my pictures and experience that I can't wait to go back. read more

About what you would expect from "mall pictures" The ratings are good which leads me to believe that maybe our experience was "just one of those days" but here's the review: I was slightly dissapointed in the customer service. We had an appointment for 1:40 and did not have pictures taken until 2:15...then something went wrong with the memory card (which wasn't a huge problem) and we had to start over. The problem was that the photographer went so quickly at that point that the pictures seemed forced and most even came out blurry. They did give us a free pose extra which was nice but overall the experience left much to be desired. read more

Ok people here we go. So we show up and the photo session begins right on time at 10am. I took my daughter and baby. I liked the poses and I only cared for the basic background so I was ok with the fact that they don't have many backgrounds to choose from. I'm good with a white background. Everything goes ok with the photo session itself. Once we were done they told us it would be about 15 minutes to see a preview of the photos so we walked around the BuybuyBaby. We come back and it was another 30 minutes choosing the package and photos we wanted. The prices were a bit high but I really liked the photos so I said ok. Well then they tell us to go to lunch and they will call us when the prints are ready. Ok cool. So we come back and they tell us that their big printer isn't working for the frame pictures. It's 2pm by this point and they could only print the small prints and the quality is not good at all. It's terrible actually. So here we are with terrible quality prints and no big frame prints. So I learned my lesson not to come here anymore unless Id only want to get the digital copies and print them out somewhere else. I made a $300 mistake and I'm writing this review so you won't make the same mistake. Again the photo session was good for basic photos and the photographer was good. The problem is they are slow and the prints are not great. read more

I cant say enough about our session with, and I hope I have this correct, Brittany, on Sunday at 3 pm Apfil 11th. She was amazing, and we absolutely love our pictures. We had never had a family portrait done. Unfortunately recently we lost my father to Covid. My mother and I suffer intense autoimmune diseases, both different, and she had been Battling Cancer the last 7 months. When we lost my father is was unexpected, a covid induced heart attack. He was the healthier of us 3. We all contracted it from my mother who was receiving treatment in a facility which had several outbreaks that they didn't make public. It spread through my entire family. Because my father and I had been her care takers. So my son, husband, myself and the 2 of them, all where infected. This was beginning of January, and we are all vaccinated, and doing ok. But I will forever wish I had done this when my father was still alive. He was more than a dad, he was infact my best friend. This experience was bitter sweet, but out photographer was just amazing. Well worth what we paid and received. We will be back for sure. Thank you so very much. This last photo shoot went well but it took forever to get the pictures printed and I got home and noticed I was never given the CD that I purchased. I drove all the way back just to sit and wait.
