The Piedmont Avenue Pumpkin Patch offers a great selection of pumpkins, and you'll find many to choose from. Plus, their pumpkin prices are very fair. However, they have a small gift shop, and I couldn't help but notice that everything there is pricier compared to buying on Amazon or visiting stores like Spirit or Target. You also have to walk through a narrow corridor (very difficult to get past people looking at decor items) on the way to the so called pumpkin batch. Before you go, read the other reviews so that you understand what type of pumpkin "patch" this is. I did just that and it saved us the disappointment. For 10-month-old Jenbert Jr. and Grandma and Grandpa Jenbert, this was just the right pace. Don't need hay rides, cornfield mazes, or a petting zoo for someone who can't walk yet. It was nice to look at the pumpkins; view the merchandise; take photos with the PAPP sign; and pet Pumpkin, the 11-pound PAPP mascot. (Blondie got a little bit of love as well) I could see older kids and teenagers getting bored with this, but it's just right for an infant's first Halloween and for toddlers, too. (Too small for them to get lost) We did not go into the haunted house or buy anything. So as long as you understand that it's a small addendum to a flower shop that changes with the seasons, you should be able to enjoy. It's even walking distance to the cemetery! Flower shop owner next door took pictures of our group to post on this pumpkin patch's social media (owners of the two places are family). Wish she asked for our permission first but we also shouldn't have assumed she was taking a picture for us on one of our phones. She's just like "the pictures will be posted on IG tomorrow" and left. We're looking at each other, "that wasn't your phone?" Pumpkin patch itself is really small and they have a mini haunted house for $10. It was some of our first time going and if this disappointment is how pumpkin patches are, I wouldn't go again. The store itself looks more interesting than the pumpkin patch. Be warn for a false advertisement. They charged different prices for different color of pumpkin despite the same sizes. I bought 1 small and 2 medium sizes which from the prices they advertise I should only paying of 50 total ($10 for small and $25 for medium size), not a $90!!!!! I was going to let it go but I don't want my little niece got upset if I ended up not buying them. Hmmm, I've been thinking about it for a while, and I think part of the reason why people are disappointed with the Piedmont Avenue Pumpkin Patch is because of the branding. For most people, when you hear "pumpkin patch," you are probably imagining driving up to a moderately sized field and being greeted by the sigh of hay bales, maybe a scarecrow or two, and a wide open space with rows and rows of a wide variety of pumpkins. Maybe you think there'll be activities for the kids, like an inflatable bouncy house or wagon rides or games, etc. etc. So when you arrive at the address for the Piedmont Avenue Pumpkin Patch and find that the access point for the pumpkins patch is a storefront nestled on the corner of a moderately busy street amongst other shops, I think it's fair to be somewhat confused and perhaps a tad disappointed. Now, if you knew in advance that the Piedmont Avenue Pumpkin Patch was not a large farm/field-esque pumpkin patch, and instead, an urban pumpkin patch seeking to bring some Halloween magic to the neighborhood, you might have a better idea of what to expect. SO, to get to the pumpkin patch, you do go through essentially a Halloween store, filled with Halloween costumes and decorations, and even a haunted house. If you traverse all the way to the back of the store, it opens up into a backyard-esque pumpkin patch. It's not the biggest, but they do have a decent selection of pumpkins in all different size and price ranges. Because it's on the smaller end, you will probably find yourself trying to squeeze by people and trying not to run over the little kids running around, but it's not bad. The pumpkins are a bit more expensive than what you'd find at a place like Trader Joe's for instance, but also... you chose to go to a local pumpkin patch and not a chain store for a reason, so what did you expect? tl;dr: I feel bad about the 3-star review. This is a fine urban pumpkin patch. I think if I went in knowing that, I would be totally ok with it, but I went in expecting full on traditional pumpkin patch and all that that connotes. Not a huge selection, nor cheap -- but very friendly, and if you have a toddler or other tot, they will love racing around the hay bales and checking out the store's selection of scary knick-knacks. We were able to pick up 2 pumpkins and a child-safe carving knife here (though the fingerpaints had to be found elsewhere) and Junior had a swell time decorating his very first Halloween pumpkin with his Mom and Pop. read more

This place is awesome! It's a cute setup in the back of a flower shop with a pop up halloween costume store. I thought I would only be satisfied by going to a pumpkin farm but this was the next best thing! They have a huge variety of pumpkins and gourds grown in the bay area and the people that own the place are super friendly. A big, special pumpkin will run you $30 but there are plenty of smaller pumpkins and squash that you can get for $4 and up. check this place out! read more

I'm really disappointed, I bought a Halloween costume wig here and it turned out to be used with much of the hair missing from the back of the wig. In the bag of the wig I found a date tag saying that it was a product sample from June 2017! So expensive all for a damaged and old product :( I was also really disappointed with the quality of other items I purchased. read more

I was initially so confused when I drove up and didn't see an empty lot or parking spaces turned into a patch. Instead, this is more of a store with a backyard with pumpkins in it. It's not obvious when you drive by on Piedmont, look for the inflatable Halloween decoration - right next to the car wash on the corner. The backyard "patch" is very small, but there is hay, a variety of pumpkins and spooky Halloween decorations covering the backyard. I picked out a small/medium sized pumpkin and it was $10.00, a bit overpriced in my opinion. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. I was a little disappointed, since I was expecting a bit more. However the owner is super nice and friendly!! This is a great place if you happen to be in the area and have very small children (not a super overwhelming patch). read more

I've been to bigger pumpkin patches, but my niece and nephew both walked out with a pair of pumpkins and other little Halloween trinkets so it got the Job done. The workers were nice enough. This Halloween store and pumpkin patch is a great local alternative to larger more commercial patches. It's tiny (a galley-shaped store that leads out to small backyard where the pumpkin patch is), but for the small space, it's well done and fun and has a local feel to it. Perfect for smaller kids. (There are no rides or jumpy houses, FYI, if that's what you're looking for, but my four-year old was enthralled for at least 30 minutes because there was so much to look at.) We didn't partake in the Haunted House, but one of the owners did a card trick for us to demo a magic wand, which was fun. They have a pretty big selection of Halloween decorations for sale too. read more

Really cute store with a terrifying haunted house in the back. The pumpkin patch isn't large but has an impressive variety. They have standard orange pumpkins but also "Cinderella" style, white ones, pink ones, pale green ones, mushroom style, etc. They also have hoards and mini-pumpkins of every variety. But for a 2year old not having to drive out to half moon bay the pumpkin patch is great. Awesome little gem in the heart of Piedmont! Very friendly owners and awesome Halloween finds (nothing like the basic stuff you'll find at Spirit). Loved looking through all of the costumes and horror trinkets. Pumpkin patch was adorable. Oakland vibe at its finest. It's a small patch behind the holiday store but it has a nice selection of pumpkins at a reasonable price and was fun to check out all the halloween costumes and stuff for my 4 year old. This isn't your hayride style pumpkin patch but for a quick night out with some great restaurants nearby after it was fun. There are some decorations and costumes upfront and a small pumpkin patch in a variety of sizes and haunted house in the back. The owners are helpful and very friendly. Too small. I am used to pumpkin patches with jumpy houses and animals where kids have room to run around. Guess this is a pumpkin patch city style.
