This was probably one of the worst doctors visits I've ever experienced. The front desk staff was rude both times i went. My nurse was overly touchy and pinched my shoulder multiple times while talking to me. It was extremely uncomfortable to be around. She then decided to repeatedly lecture me about contraceptive usage and said "you're too young to get pregnant so stay that way" when i replied i had never been pregnant. It seemed so unnecessary to say something like that. Who know what I could've had in my past or if I was trying to conceive with a partner. Unacceptable. While taking my blood pressure, she kept talking to me in a way that implied she wanted a response, but kept telling me to stop talking. Come to Dr. Fox. I said off the bat I wasn't interested in an IUD, but she kept pushing it. To further her case, she mentioned multiple times that she has placed an IUD in virgins before with no pain meds and they did fine. Gynecological medicine needs a complete overall bc many procedures done are incredibly painful for women, but many are often denied pain medication or it's not even brought up. An OBGYN visit is already hard enough with the anxiety, not to mention the staff making patients feel uncomfortable and pushed to do something they don't want to do. Dr. Fox does not care about her patients health. I came in roughly 2 weeks back with severe pelvic pain and based on my previous medical history I believed I I knew what the issue was and that I would need further care. I was then scheduled for an ultrasound and sent several text messages to confirm I would still make the appointment. When I arrived I was told my appointment was cancelled as my affliction was non urgent. I was not notified prior to the appointment and drove 45 minuets to make the appointment. As I stood outside I watched several women walk in and demanded why they felt my appointment was not urgent as I am in pain every day and they could not give me a direct answer. The only answer was "because that's the way we feel" this was disrespectful of my time and blatant neglect of care. read more

I had a few friends recommend this practice to me, but I had a terrible experience with my second recent pregnancy. My first issue is one that some people can deal with -- they made it nearly impossible for me to be able to see the same provider at each visit. All of the doctors were nice, but it seemed like none of them even bothered to read my chart before they came in to the room to examine me. I never cared which doctor delivered the baby, but I did want continuity of care during the pregnancy, which I never got. At nearly 33 weeks, I became a high-risk patient and they had to coordinate with a high-risk OB practice near Main. Let's just say this was a complete and utter joke. We had to do all the coordinating ourselves. And, yet again, I had to explain to every single provider every time what was going on with my pregnancy. When you've just found out your baby will need surgery right after she's born, you don't want to have to be the one to break this news to your medical provider. Call me crazy for thinking they should read a chart and be prepared to give you proper medical care. On top of this, their triage nurse also had no idea what was going on when we called when I was in labor. It was just a terrible situation. I won't be going back. It's too bad they have a near monopoly on CMC Pineville because it's right by our house and the hospital itself gets good reviews. read more

Terrible. I went as a new patient for my 4th pregnancy. They have always been rude on the phone. Always late for appointments at the Ballantyne office. The midwife I saw was heartless and dismissive. My first visit was unsettling. I came with an infection (2 weeks old), and was told to give it another 72 hours and call over the weekend if I still felt bad. The after hours nurse said she was not going to bother anyone with my issues and to call back during business hours Monday. 4 calls during business hours later and no one returned my call. I called after hours again. They finally called in medications for me, but told me never to call the after hours number again. My second visit started 40 mins late. I was giving this place one more chance. The midwife was again, dismissive of my concerns. She finally "allowed" me an ultrasound for peace of mind. The ultrasound tech, very coldly, told me my child was dead. I was refused a second opinion and left in a room alone. When given my options, I feel I was pressured into a D&E. They gave me the wrong information on when to arrive at the hospital, when to stop eating before the surgery, what to expect. They sent my prescriptions for post op to the wrong pharmacy and told me to fix it myself. They could not accommodate the doctors requests for post op follow up timing. Post op questions? 2 days and 5 phone calls before anyone would talk to me. read more

While I really enjoy the service I receive here ( Love Janet Floyd she is lovely in every sense of the word), I cannot deal with the billing errors. I have been going here for three years and every single time I am billed an exorbitant amount and have to go through the nightmare call-center a couple times before I can get it changed. The call center alone will take you roughly a half-hour of wait time before you can speak to an actual person. What makes me feel worse about this is that I recommended Piedmont and my poor co-worker had the same thing happen twice. It makes me think that they are intentionally billing people in hopes that some will blindly pay it. It's really upsetting that they would take advantage of their loyal customers in that way. I have a hard time simply leaving because againI have no crazy wait times when I get there, they are thorough, professional (medical staff), and personable. But considering the frustration I have to ask myself if it is really worth it. You know that old saying...three times you're out. read more

BE WARNED I'm sorry if this is too much information, but I think it's vital for anyone who may be considering this group for their medical needs. I had a hysterectomy from Dr. Northcutt in December of 2013. 10 weeks later (2 weeks after I was cleared for "normal activity" with my husband), I ended up back in surgery because although I was examined by Dr. Northcutt and he told me I was healed, he was wrong. During this surgery, he tied my ureters too tightly and my kidneys wouldn't drain properly. My calls regarding pain were ignored or dismissed as "normal" for 10 days. I won't even get into phone response times from nurses. Finally they decided that crimped ureters were the cause and once again I went in for surgery (Dr. Pillai performed the final surgery, and succeeded in removing the stitch). Three operations in less than 4 months, just for a hysterectomy. The pain and immobility of 3 operations was horrible and I was left horribly depressed and completely exhausted (literally) by so little cardiovascular exercise. Dr. Northcutt kindly informed me that they would waive about $400 of their fee from the last surgery, but of course I had to pay the hospital bill. And guess what? Credit collectors started harassing me incessantly for the $400. I have never dealt with credit collectors in my life and it just added insult to injury. It's over a year later and I got another collection bill in the mail less than a month ago. I had to block my phone number from all strangers just so I could get some peace. If I could give zero stars I would. My dog could have done a better job. Well, at least he shows concern when I'm in pain. read more

I have been with Piedmont OB/Gyn for 14 years. I'm not sure what happened to them lately, but I have had a nightmare with the billing office. I've had to contact them numerous times to fix one bill. Then I get a bill in the mail from 6 years ago. I was so confused. I called about this bill and told them I had been there numerous times since then (I had all my prenatal visits there), I asked why they never mentioned an old bill and they said because they didn't want to "embarrass" customers while they are checking in. So instead they will send you a letter 6 years later saying they are taking it out of your taxes. ($25 bill btw). Thanks for letting me know about it before you send me a legal notice. I'm still in the process of getting the latest bill taken care of because they put the wrong date on it and said I was there a day I wasn't. Needless to say, I just switched doctors. read more

I have only visited this practice as an OB patient and am currently 34 weeks pregnant. This is my first child, so I am new to this whole thing. While everyone at the office is very nice, especially the nurses and desk staff, there are some things that bother me about the office. Pros: I chose this location because it is close to my home and they deliver at Pineville. These were things that were non-negotiable for me. They are always quick to check you in and I rarely have to wait to see a doctor or midwife once I am taken back. I had some scares early in my pregnancy and they were always quick to get me in and check on baby. They made me feel comfortable and reassured me that things were probably fine, that the issues I was having were not uncommon. They were right and baby was always fine. The ultrasound techs are phenomenal, I have had 3 so far and they are really good at what they do! Cons: I really only have one complaint and it is about one of the midwives. Let me preference this by saying that I am not a tiny girl, but I am also not shopping in the 'womens' section for clothing. With that said, the first time they were listening for the baby's heartbeat externally they were having some issues finding it. They told me how small the baby was and that it may take a few minutes to find. The first one to look for it was an intern, when she was having no luck, so midwife took over. She too was having some issues and said, "Well, part of it is due to your size..." Really?! A few moments later she found the heartbeat, but I was mortified. When she left the room I looked at my husband and asked, "Did she just call me fat?" He said he thought so. I probably should have changed practices then, or at least insisted that I no longer have appointments with her, but I have stayed, because they really were very good to me in the beginning and I have really liked all of the Doctors I have seen. Other than that I would recommend that they give first time mother's a little more counseling. Let you know what you may experience before your next visit. They don't do that unless you ask, I don't think you should have to ask. So, take what you will from my experience. It wasn't bad enough to make me leave, but I may look around before baby number 2 comes along. read more

I am high risk and I schedule appointments a month in advance to turn around and hear they have to reschedule me because the ultrasound won't fit in. That happened twice! I was referred to Piedmont @ week 23 of my pregnancy. Normally they won't refer that far along but my OB at university was great and since I moved closer to Pineville he referred me to the doctors here. Dr. Northcutt took over and he IS WONDERFUL. He takes the time to talk to you and makes the appts go by quickly. He has a wonderful bedside manner (lacking in today's doctors). I don't know why all the other reviewers have a stick up their butt- the other women I've spoken with who go to this practice really enjoy their experience. read more

Bad experience at the first appointment. I don't wish to badmouth the whole practice since I've only had one appointment here but I definitely would NOT recommend Dr Phillips to anyone making an appointment at Piedmont. I'm in my 20th week and just moved to this practice from Novant health mint view. I was quite satisfied at Mint view especially with my Doctor (Dr Hauschka ) but decided to switch because I wanted to deliver at CMC Pineville. At my first appointment at Piedmont they made me wait in the exam room for my doctor for an hour with no apology from anyone. It's like they put me in that room and forgot. That's fine though, I understand schedule delays and didn't let that bother me but the Doctors attitude and comments once he arrived left a rather bitter taste. During my previous delivery I had opted for the epidural but it did not work. I therefore had a natural but extremely painful delivery with severe contractions and labor lasting over 15 hours. I discussed the epidural not working bit with Dr Phillips and he responded by saying that he could not guarantee that it would not happen again and that it was probably bad 'KARMA'. 'Karma' for anyone confused about the meaning of the word is loosely put, your fate resulting from your previous actions. I had suffered post natal depression after my first delivery and had spent many nights questioning what I had done wrong in life to deserve that amount of excruciating pain.. And here was a doctor reaffirming that indeed it was KARMA that had caused the pain. I was just a little speechless and confused by his insensitive comment and loose use of the word. I found it to be the equivalent of saying well u probably deserved the pain because of something you did! Thank you, Doctor. In addition to this, I had my 3 year old son with me at my appointment with Dr Phillips and he was annoyed by any and every peep that my son made. I just wanted my appointment to end!! I have to make the comparison at this point with Dr Hauschka's behavior in the same circumstances. When I had mentioned the epidural episode to her she had simply reassured me by saying I need not worry and that she would take good care of me. I understand things can go wrong and no one can 'guarantee' things sometimes but a little reassurance and comfort from a doctor goes a long way. I also took my son with me to all my appointments with Dr Hauschka and she would always tell me to let my son explore, talk and would always indulge in conversation with him. She said she had 3 children of her own and knew quite well what to expect from 3 year olds. Needless to say my son loved going to my appointments with me because of the kindness and friendliness of the staff at Mintview. Lastly, I want to mention that for my previous pregnancy I went to Dr Meek at Carmel and I loved that practice too. So if you are not fussed about delivering at CMC Pineville there are definitely some good caring doctors out there. read more

I have been a patient here for 5 years. After becoming pregnant, my PCP referred me to Midwife, Tina Hayes. During my pregnancy, I mainly saw Tina Hayes and Lisa Nona. Unfortunately, neither of them were on call when I went into labor. I saw Sage while laboring and she was wonderful!! Due to some complications, Dr Bale delivered my son. I was pleased with all of the providers I saw during my pregnancy, during labor & delivery, and post delivery. However, I saw Dr Fox for an annual exam and almost left in the middle of the appointment due to the way she treated me. She was very condescending towards me and actually became argumentative when I mentioned I'd like to get BRCA testing since my maternal aunt was diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer at the young age of 40 and passed away at 44, and she had tested positive for BRCA. Dr Fox blew me off and wanted me to ask my (dead) aunt if she had, in fact, been tested for the BRCA gene and wanted to know which BRCA gene. When I reminded her that my aunt was passed, she scoffed and told me to ask other family members, then quickly moved on to something else. Toward the end of the visit, Dr Fox became aware that I worked for a Primary Care Physician, she became very friendly and actually tried to revisit previous conversations including the BRCA testing. I was shocked by the way she treated me. It shouldn't matter where I work, if I have knowledge of the medical field or not, everyone should be treated with dignity and respect. Shame, shame, shame on you Dr Fox!! I cried on my way home due to the way she treated me. I will never, ever see her again. I saw Dr Comer last week and he was WONDERFUL!! He had a great bedside manner and was excited and happy to help when I advised him I was trying for another baby. He ordered a mammogram, even though I am still not of the recommended age, my FAMILY HISTORY makes me at a higher risk, and he explained that since my aunt was diagnosed at age 40, I should've been getting mammo's since I was 30!! He also recommended BRCA testing. I didn't even have to ask, he recommended it due to my FAMILY HISTORY!! He really took the time to listen to me, to my concerns and treated me like the individual that I am, instead of another number on his schedule! Due to my experience during pregnancy and my experience with Dr Comer, I would give a 5 star rating, but feel I need to deduct due to my experience with Dr Fox. read more

Jan Floyd is so amazing! She is a wonderful British nurse midwife and very much reminds me of Mary Poppins. She is always happy, and even burst in the doors of the waiting room for work one morning singing and saying good morning to everyone. She is sincerely caring and takes the time to talk to you. She never leaves without giving you a hug. :) The only downside to that is she takes a while with each patient, so you typically have to wait a while in the room before she comes in. She's worth it though. I don't love every doctor or midwife there, but I've had an overall good experience with them through my pregnancy. I also saw them before I was pregnant for the GYN side. I've never had any billing errors or anything like that. I call often with questions, and they have nurses call you back typically within a few hours if its not urgent. They have a lot of doctors and midwives there. I prefer the midwives. Nice office. read more

Absolute worst service I have ever had. I have gone here for about a year to get Depo birth control shots and have had numerous problems in doing so. Problem #1: For these shots you are supposed to get them every 3 months. Well they wont let you schedule an appointment 3 months out. So I had to call them back every 2 months to setup an appointment for the next month. One time I called and said looks like my last shot was 6/25 and she said correct so lets schedule an appointment for 9/27. So I politely reminder her that I needed the shot every 3 months, and her reply back to me was that the shot is actually good for longer than 3 months they just have you come back then to be sure. Assuming she knew what she was talking about I took the 9/27 appointment. On 9/27 I go in and the nurse says well were going to have to do a pregnancy test to make sure youre not pregnant since your late getting the shot. This all could have been avoided if the receptionist properly schedule the appointment. Problem #2: As mentioned in problem #1 they do not let you schedule appointments for 3 months in advance. Come to find out they do not even call you once you need to schedule an appointment! So if by chance you happen to have your dates confused they do not bother to step in and remind you that you need to schedule an appointment. An no I am not trying to put the blame completely on them, as yes I should have made a note to call them in 2 months to set up an appointment. So I called them to schedule an appointment and they say that it looks like its 2 weeks late so the best they could do is set up 2 appointments to take a pregnancy test then a 3rd to get the shot. My overall experience with them has been horrible. I would not recommend their services to anyone. They are nice to you when you are in there. But it seems they could careless about you once you have left. Even my dogs vet gives him a follow up phone call after his visit. I think if they were truly concerned about their patients the least they could do would be to follow up with them. read more

This is the worst experience ever. I had my baby at Pineville and had to go through the labor process by myself and with the support that the nurse could give me. This practice has only one midwife. She was taking care of another patient; therefore, I saw her just once when I was 2 centimeters dilated. From then on, I never saw her again. I had to stp pushing and wait till the call the on-call doctor. I dont want anybody else to go through this. read more

It's straight, we're 8+ mos pregnant and we've been there the entire time due to location (we work in the corporate park). Only issue, from my end, is that they don't necessarily involve fathers in the pregnancy experience. For the $1500 I've shelled out in copayments, the doctors have said maybe 5 words to me (How are you today, sir?) the entire time, and I make every visit. To their credit, the physicians seem very intelligent and seem to have their stuff together, and a genuine concern for the baby. Also, they seem overbooked / understaffed, and always like they're frantic to get on to the next patient. Overall they're ok, nothing special. The office staff is nice enough. The office itself is nice enough (clean, tvs, comfy). They cater to the patient who is used to being told what to do vs. those who actively participate in their own healthcare. 3/5 stars. Update: Must've read the review, face to face time with the doc increased, all questions answered, appt didn't feel rushed. Much more in line with the service we expected this time around. read more

I've had medication prescribed to me I was never told about, calls that were never returned, a very time sensitive test they tried to cancel the morning of with no resolution, given the wrong location of HSG test and now a $6k genetics test they submitted to an out-of-network lab, when they had my insurance information to check this before screwing me over. I absolutely hate this office, the staff is negligent and the only person I will speak with is the practice manager. I can't believe this practice is still open. DO NOT go here! DO NOT trust them with your health! DO NOT give them your business! I have never been so let down in my life. read more

I was a patient of Piedmont Gyn OB for over 4 years. When I became pregnant, the only information I received from anyone in the practice was a small stack of photocopies from one of the midwives with some very, very general information and a long article about why you should use a midwife for delivery (which did not apply to me). Since it was my first pregnancy, I did a lot of research on my own and asked the practitioners about some of my findings, eg: what type of food should I eat / avoid? They would not answer any of my questions, as if they were afraid of the liability. It turned out that I had a fetal anomaly. Michelle was wonderful and helped me the best she could. The Women's Institute geneticist faxed the results and called the practice multiple times. I also called them several times for advice or referrals for next steps. They NEVER called the geneticist back, nor did they ever return my calls. I was not nasty in my messages, I was an active, paid in full patient, so there is NO REASON for the lack of care I received from Piedmont Gyn Ob. Their LACK of treatment and their incredibly vague bills that they and CMC send every few days are absurd. I agree with one of the other posters that I think they hope you'll just pay it without doing your due diligence. Word to the wise: call for your balance, because with multiple bills coming, they do overlap each other and do not account for what you've paid. Horrible birth experience. I was past my due date and they started induction at 7am on a Wednesday morning. After 2 days, I was not progressing. They broke my water on Friday morning and cranked the induction drugs and finally Saturday morning after getting a bad infection, they did a c-section (which I had been asking for since Friday). My newborn had to be treated with antibiotics due to an infection I received from the prolonged induction process. The doctor that did the c-section was great, but the midwife there during most of the induction was horrible and I had little confidence in her. I will be going elsewhere for my second pregnancy. read more

Went in for a routine check up and had a Horribly rough bi-manual pelvic exam with a newer midwife at Ballantyne location. Caused pelvic pain for going on 3 months now and they didn't do anything to help. Since then I have had to do pelvic physical therapy as a result of their employee's negligence. Only giving 2 stars because the nurses truly want to help, unlike the doctors... who also include midwives that don't understand how to give a proper diagnosis. I've had horrible experiences in this office where the "doctors" treat me as a complete joke and tell me I'm fine when I'm clearly having issues. Would not recommend anyone to waste their time here because they will completely disregard your symptoms and send you on your way. This is the worse place to go to if you're pregnant. The nurses that work there are so rude. They have treated me so poorly there since day 1. I've had this lady Diedra (or Deedra) that works there laugh at my face when I ask her a question that has anything to do with my appointments and payments. She is the worse one I have met there thus far. I really want her fired because she should not be working there if she does not know how to act properly and respectfully to others. I am on the verge of changing to Novant Health because the attitudes and the disrespect I've gotten from the nurses there are enough to send me looking for another place to continue my prenatal checkups. Please look else where if you're looking for an OB-GYN to go to for prenatal checkups. This is not the place; however for my pap smears with Dr. Lowder has been great there. read more

Very disappointed with the doctors and midwifes. Have been going to Piedmont for over 3 years now (reason being CMC-Pineville), Never have i seen the doctor or midwife within 30mins of waiting. Even after an hour of wait, no one shows up to let you know what is going on, and if you go ask the nurse, the answer will always be 'running late today'. Someone needs to better manage their time, either the front desk people who make the appointments and not over book patients or the doctors+midwives need to manage their time well. This is just unacceptable. No other office in the country will make the client wait for over an hour and get away with it. Patients need to take a day off for the office visit. Will be moving to a different practice who value the patients. read more

In my first prenatal visit, everyone was very nice, but not very informative at all. I left not knowing what to expect at my next appointment. Also note, they DO NOT do an ultrasound on your first visit. If you do not remember your last cycle, they tell you to guess. Another thing is you do not see the same Dr every time, but they do not tell you this! I will be switching providers! read more

DON'T DO IT. I wish I had switched prenatal care long ago, now I'm too far along. They treat you like a number here; 9 months in and they still don't know how to pronounce my name; they just dismissively say they have "so many" patients who pronounce it differently, they don't bother to tell us apart. To be fair, there are a few diamonds in the rough who are nice, but overwhelmingly my birth experience has been awful; I leave each visit feeling demoralized. This is my second child -- my first was in Southern California -- so I know good care when I see it. Here, they rattle all the same instructions they tell everyone else, even if it's in direct conflict with the issue you've just talked to them about. You can tell they barely skim your chart before they walk in, because they look clueless when you ask a question referring to your medical history. And they're quick to prescribe medicine you don't need for things you didn't ask about. I once called after hours because my contractions were 3 mins apart, for more than an hour. I wanted to know if I was going into labor; they suggested I take Tylenol instead, "for the discomfort." After I pushed back, they said I should go to the hospital -- and turns out I was in preterm labor. They had to work to stop it, and when they were done they asked if I wanted Ambien. I told them I was fine, just tired and wanted to go home and rest. Before I left, they asked again if I was interested; they didn't say a thing about how that might affect me or the baby, they just "thought it would help you get some sleep." I declined again, and went home to sleep. I really, really hope my delivery is a more pleasant experience, but I don't trust them to stick to my birth plan (or even read it) or know my history when it's time for baby to arrive. If I ever have another baby, I'm taking my prenatal care elsewhere. read more

I am 30 weeks pregnant and new to Charlotte. I had the best care in California, never had an issue. My pregnancy thus far, thankfully, has been a smooth and healthy one. I was told I had to drop off my records in order to be approved as a patient....fine, no problem. It was supposed to take 5 business days. Here it has taken over 2.5 weeks and I have probably spoken to over 7 people at that office now. I am now going on 4 weeks since I have seen a doctor. I seem to be dealing with nothing but incompetent people, although everyone I have spoken to has been pretty nice and patient with me. I do not understand why it takes over 2 weeks to review the records of a completely healthy potential patient. I should have listened to the reviews on this place, however a mutual friend recommended them and it is about a mile from where I live, so I figured why not. This obviously is not a good start. Nice doctors....horrible and incompetent staff!! I only started going here several months ago and it has been nothing but a nightmare every step of the way. I was told my first visit to show up for labs on x day after my next cycle. I asked 2 different people if I need an appointment for labs and was told a total of 3 times no, to just walk in. That time came and when I just walked in you would have thought I came in waving a weapon at them. They snapped at me for all of the waiting room to hear and asked me why in the world would I think I could just march in there and be seen without an appointment. I explained that's what I was told to do. They made several shows letting me know how hard it was for them to get a lab slip out and put my needed labs on that slip and I might be waiting a while for their inconveniences and to please not let this happen again as if they still believed this was my doing. When I return for my followup one afternoon and needed labs that same day I asked if I could have the labs drawn before going into the room because it was already 3:30 and I knew I would be sitting in that room for over 45 minutes waiting on the doctor and then still needed to have the actual appointment. They assured me there would still be time for the labs. I explained that if they already know for certain that I need these labs I would like to have them prior to the appointment because I can not get off of work another day to come back and because these labs were cycle related, I would have to wait a whole other month to have them done again. No, we promise there will be time. I have my appointment and the nurse comes in smiling stating, "well, the lab is closed so you will have to come back tomorrow for your labs." Are you kidding me??? We JUST went over this and she had JUST assured me this would not happen. So I have to take 2 hours off of my job for their error without so much of an apology. Well, then I need to have a hysterosalpingogram completed and was told to call once I start my cycle and the test would need to be completed on either day 3 or day 4 following the start of the cycle. I even called again to ask how many days out and again was told either day 3 or 4. I started my cycle on a Tuesday morning so the only option if you are talking day 3 or 4 is Friday since the tests are not done on the weekends. I took Friday off of work so that they could schedule me for any time they want. When I call to schedule the test I am asked my name 4 times in a row and I finally have to ask "do we have a bad connection or do you have dementia?" what was going on because my name is not that complicated. Then she asked me another 3-4 times what test I was asking for and I told her over and over but she clearly did not know what that was. I get a call back from someone different stating "I had a message you want an ultrasound but clearly you are confused because by reading your chart you need a hysterosalpingogram so I will send this to that department to schedule." you're right ma'am....clearly I am the confused one. I get a voicemail asking me to call back to let them know if I will be in town the following week because it will be more like 7-8 days out for the test. Well there went that 3-4 days I was originally told. When I called back to discuss my schedule I was told the scheduler does not talk to the patients on the phone and will only take messages from the person answering the phone. ok, how in the world do you refuse to speak to the patients about their schedule??? especially when the person taking your messages doesn't ask either?? I work in the medical profession too and that is really unacceptable especially since many patients also have jobs they need to work around. Not to mention, I am paying for this test out of pocket. At least give me the courtesy of speaking to me. Besides, they were the ones that asked me to call back and discuss my schedule with them. When I do, they refuse to take the call. How are you suppose to get anything accomplished like that? Because we could never speak they just decided to pick a date and time for me. That was kind of them especially since that did not work. When I called the message taker back and told her I could not make that because I would be traveling for WORK and gave her a list of potential dates and times and asked for a call back, I waited over 30 hours before calling back for a status update. When I did call back they said there had been no change and I was still on the schedule for the original time. I spent over 2 days of my vacation trying to deal with these morons. This is very poor customer service and patient care. They treat their patients like they are a burden when they are actually their livelihood!! Sadly I referred a friend there shortly after I started going there and she had somewhat similar experiences and has since started going elsewhere as I plan too as well. read more

I am very disappointed with Piedmont OB/GYN. My friend who did not have a doctor in this area was having issues that needed attention; I referred her to Dr. Fox, but Dr. Fox did not have availability, so she was scheduled with a different doctor. The soonest my friend could get an appointment was a month away. She continued to have her problem, getting weaker and looking pale. She finally went to the emergency room and was diagnosed with fibroid tumors that were bursting causing her to lose a lot of blood. The emergency room Dr. called her Piedmont Dr, and asked them to see her sooner and they would not change the appointment which was a couple weeks away. Once she went to this Dr. he said she needed a hysterectomy and he wanted it soon. The appointment desk called and scheduled the appointment for a month and half away. She is now taking a turn for the worse to be in a lot of pain, loss of weight, weak, low iron, low potassium, and even knowing this the doctor is not monitoring these levels on a regular basis. Friday she called and explained her situation is getting worse so they called in 800 mg ibuprofen, then Sunday they called again to explain it has gotten worse. the doctor on call just called in for a few tablets of Tylenol with codeine and said call Monday to make an appointment. On Monday she was told the next available appointment is in 16 days. This is ridiculous. She is lying on the couch moaning in pain even after taking 800 mg ibuprofen every 2 hour. The swelling is scary and don't know why it keeps getting worse and how long she can stand it. What if something else is wrong ?? read more

I am 38 weeks pregnant with my fifth child and this is my first and last experience with this office. The only reason I started going for this pregnancy was due to the distance between where I live now and my previous OB/GYN that delivered three of my children. However after this experience I would rather bare the drive. For the most part my visits to the office is rather pleasant, it's just when I need forms and documents completed for my FMLA and STD through my employer I cannot get a reasonable turnaround and competent staff to make sure it's completed. I'm upset that they only have one person completing documents for three offices for countless providers. They give you a basic 10-14 business day turnaround time, but it's been over that time frame to get my STD paperwork back and I'm about to start my maternity leave. When I call, the office staff give me the same standard message that the turnaround time is 10-14 business days and that they will give the lady a message, however she never calls back. Adding insult to injury, yesterday I requested a refill for a pain medication and I was drilled by 4 different nurses that only told me that they will give one of the provider's a message and will decide on whether to call in a refill. Well my provider thought it was medical necessary to write up the prescription to begin with and it's over 24 hours or more and no one has called me back and my prescription hasn't been called in. Among the office staff common sense does not exist and the only pleasant experience are with the educated providers themselves. I will not recommend this place for other mothers to be, because the issues I am facing are avoidable and feel that they should be more patient friendly by minimizing issues not creating unnecessary ones. read more
