I went there to get get a DOT physical. I saw Nhung Nguyen, PA. She asked me to get signed off by my doctor and told me that I could come back and they would give me my medical card. No problem, I made the first available appointment, got my paperwork signed by my doctor, and went back to the Urgent Care the very next day. I was then told that the PA who originally saw me was not there and she was the only person who could sign off on my Medical Card. I came here twice last year within the span of 6weeks for sinus/ear pain. Both times they said they accepted my insurance and I had no co-pay within a week after the second office visit. I get a bill for $120 with insurance which makes no sense. They should've told me that they don't accept my Insurance prior to agreeing to having services done here. I am sure that they are familiar with the main insurance companies and which ones are in network, etc. and they told me mine was in network therefore and I had no co-pay so it would make sense that it would be very little if any payment due. I am quite bitter about paying the bill (now in collectives) due to them providing false information, which if I was provided the correct information I would have chose a different clinic. So $240 later to be given a 7 day steroid Rx to help w inner ear. I don't have much experience at all with Piedmont Urgent Care clinics. However, I recently went to the Druid Hills location per my boss's request for a curbside COVID test to clear me for work. Plans fell through as an emergency came up, and I had to leave that location while I was waiting to be called. Some time later, I decided to try again at this location to actually get my test done. I filled out the online registration form again as I had been instructed previously and waited. My mom, my husband, and I were all waiting to get the rapid PCR tests this time. My mom needed to use the restroom, so I inquired inside if that would be okay while we waited to be called. One of the front desk girls was really nice and sweet, while the other one was super rude and started firing questions at me about how we registered. I told her we used the online form we were instructed to use at both locations previously. She basically sounded disgusted and said we "shouldn't have done that at home" and we should've come down, scanned the QR code, then they would have given me a time, since they were supposedly booked solid for the day. It's not what she said, it's the lack of tact she used to say it all. She was clearly impatient and probably just hangry as she made a personal call about food later right at the front desk. She didn't give me the chance to explain that I didn't do the app at home and did wait till I got to the center. However, with both locations claiming to do curbside, I wasn't expecting to come in at all, if it hadn't been for the fact that my mom had to urinate. She was just super short with me for someone who has never dealt with their clearly faulty system before. Whatever... Anyway, at least they said they could take us in by 2:30pm, so we could come back. My mom and I had our tests billed through insurance with no copay. My husband's would have been over $100 with no insurance, so we opted to take him back to Walgreens for free testing later. When the time came for the test, the lady who helped us was really nice. She was in and out, and we were done with everything promptly. There was no curbside as promised. We had to come in. So that's up to you, how you feel about COVID safety, if debating about going to this location. We got our results within two hours for the rapid PCR as promised, both negative thankfully. The lady who sounded hangry seemed slightly friendlier after what I assume to be her late lunch on our way out. Would I come here again if we needed to? Probably. I prefer Walgreens COVID testing over the system in place here, but it was my boss's preference for the rapid PCR (which Walgreens doesn't currently offer). read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. We will NEVER return to this location again. First of all, I work in healthcare and I'm very familiar with how the system works. We had an 8am appointment (when they open). The receptionist was out in her car crying when we arrived until about 8:10am, but no one inside cared to cover the front desk. Then once she decided to come inside to work, we had to wait again. There is not 1 single person in the office, not 1 car in the parking lot. You can hear the staff in the back laughing and having a great time while my child is crying in pain in the waiting room. Patient care was non existent. I don't like having to be my own nurse or doctor! After describing to the nurse what was going on she asked me what tests I wanted done! The nurse didn't even know what a uvula was! So doctor comes in and just starts talking...She doesn't give me results of the one test I had gotten. (I had 2 suspicions of what I thought it was.) So I stop her and ask the results and they were negative and she said she suspected it was "X" and was gonna give me 2 medications. So I said what about the other test (the other thing I thought it could be). Doctor said, oh if you have that you don't wanna take the medications! You literally will be here at least an hour before you even get seen regardless if there are patients or not. I have never seen a doctors office take so long with no one even here. I have come here multiple times and this will be the last. The first two times I came took a very long time to get seen and there was no one in the waiting room but me. This time I had three people ahead of me and I have been in the waiting area for an hour and a half. I haven't even made it back to a room yet. I just don't understand why they take so long. I have been to other doctors offices that have double the patients and I'm in and out in an hour. It's insane. I won't be back. read more

I went here in January of 2020, before Covid was a huge national concern. My daughter had been diagnosed with strep throat, and I started having a fever so I thought I had contracted it from her. So I came to this urgent care with a fever, body aches, runny nose, and a light cough. They did the test for strep throat which came back negative, and the doctor said that she would test for the Flu, but they had just used the last of their flu tests on another patient. So she just gave me a prescription for theraflu and told me to come back if my symptoms did not go away... Over a year later, I received a bill for over $330 not including the strep lab tests which were an additional $33... I called to ask why the bill was so much for a visit for flu like symptoms, especially since they ran out of the flu tests, and I was not able to receive an informed diagnosis. They classified the visit as a "new patient level 4" visit, but have not explained why it is being classified that way. I'm hoping that they will reevaluate the circumstances of my visit and send me a new bill with a cost more appropriate for this visit, but as of right now they are not explaining the reasoning behind the expensive codes used for this visit. read more

The staffing at the front were very lovely but I did communicate my issue as soon as I got there which was I was having drainage out of my ear (puss). So I went to this place because of the good reviews. On July 4 I went here to check out my clogged ear. I couldn't hear from it. The staff was nice and welcoming and I felt at ease. I was seen by a PA Teresa Gonzalez Byrd. She looked in my left ear and told me I had a severe ear infection, but ai had no pain in my ears She prescribed my amoxicillin and neomycin. I had to pay out of pocket for the visit and the antibiotics. The drops alone was almost $120 for drops! For 7 days I took the antibiotics with bad side effects. I had difficulty breathing, diarrhea, fatigue, stomach problems and stressed out because the meds were not doing anything for me. It was making me feel ill. Yesterday I made a appointment with a Ear, Nose, Throat doctor. Today I went in and they evaluated me and she saw there was fluid and wax in there. She suctioned it up and I heard a pop. My ear was unclogged! There was no infection, the doctor told me my ears looked well. It was only clogged because of the wax. It makes me sick to think about the pain I went through. All the sickness from the pills and drops...I was taking them for no reason. I spent money on this place and bought medication I didn't need. Most importantly though I had a week of hell because of the wrong evaluation Piedmont Urgent Care gave to me. I am not saying that urgent care places are not good to go to. They are cheaper than emergency rooms but what is the purpose of going in there and spending money for something you will get wrong info about? This is my health we are taking about. My mistake. I should have went to the right place for my problem. Never again. Owner asked me to email her. Have yet to get a response. At this point I could care less about this place. I went there for a UTI back in December. Doctor told me repeatedly that UTI in males is not possible and that it has to be an STD (as she keeps looking at my wife). I told he that I have done my research online and she tells me that the internet is wrong. I go in and do the urine sample and 2 minutes later the nurse comes in and tells me it is definitely a UTI. I ask to speak to the Doctor to confirm but the doctor will not return to confirm that results face to face. Next phase - I set up a payment plan to pay the bill and they never take a payment out for 4 months and send me a nasty letter that i am in delinquent status. I have tried to pay the bill online though my HSA account but it keeps declining (I have more than 3 times the amount in the account). I cannot get anyone to call or email me back. This is just spectacular customer service. I would stay as far away from this business as possible. Needed a rapid Covid test for last minute travel. Got to the location at 7:10pm. Website said they were open until 8pm. so does the door. Came in and was told that they stop testing at 7 so I was unable to get the testing I needed for my trip. They need to update the website and the door if that's the case. read more

In the light of day and two weeks later, I feel my review was spot on. My cough developed into bronchitis after two weeks of trying to use what the NP at the urgent care prescribed. I finally went to my doctor who gave me a steroid shot, antibiotics, and a codeine based cough syrup that cleared everything up by the next day. I finally slept through the night without coughing up a lung for the first time in two weeks. I was also told by my doctor that the NP I saw at this location likely couldn't prescribe the medication I needed and required a doctor to authorize it. Bottom line, the NP I saw should have been upfront and recommend I come back when a doctor was working instead of pushing ahead with a clearly ineffective treatment. It's frustrating that I even called the next day to tell her it was not working and her reaction was to double down on what she prescribed. This NP business has gotten out of hand, and there is a sharp decline of service at this location since they started staffing NP instead of doctors. Piedmont Urgent Care provided a clear disservice to me as a patient that resulted in me getting worse instead of better. read more

I called my insurance company to make sure that this place was in network before going. At check-in, they asked for a credit card and let me know that they would charge up to $299 for whatever my insurance didn't cover. I said, "But you DO accept my insurance, because if you don't, I can go someplace else" I was assured that my insurance was accepted. Today (six days after service) I received an e-mail, saying they would be charging my card $299 tomorrow (no explanation of the charges was included). I called and was told that my "member number was no good" (even though I gave them my card when I checked in). They checked and came back to tell me that I didn't have health insurance - only dental insurance. After I spent two full hours on the phone with repeated calls, they (my insurance company) got it straightened out by calling the Piedmont Urgent Care By Wellstreet billing department. read more

We took our daughter here because she had hurt her toe and would not walk on it. They did an x ray and said there was no fracture. The radiologist saw no brake as well. My daughter said it hurt to walk on and requested a boot. They refused to recommend it so our insurance would cover it. We got a second opinion with children's orthopedists of Atlanta and it IS fractured! She finally has her boot. I did call the office to let them know. This is unacceptable! read more

I had to go inside and be told to go to the Alpharetta or Johns Creek sites to be seen for anything other than COVID testing. Gave them what they needed (ID, credit card, and insurance card) and by the time I finished filling out my paperwork I was called in. Wait time was non existence. Whoever the African American young front desk lady was talking to us today, 5/30 Monday @ 12:08, thankfully helped us to make up our mind that we don't ever want to come back to this place never again! We were there to ask a few questions before traveling abroad and brought a form to get a practitioner's signature if possible but she didn't even tries to take a look at the from and was reading it from a far distance saying "the first one." And whatever we asked afterwards, she was just keep on repeating the same thing over "the first one, I said" "yes I said the first one!." But after listening to my lungs wanted to take x rays. Found some spots. Did flu test negative. She checked everything. Was not like most places she took the time to listen and made me feel very comfortable. If I could give a 10 star I would. Will recommend t his place to everyone. They even called the next day to check on me. Also the doctor called b back with a primary doctor for me since I did not have one and she even made sure she was on my insurance.
