I guess this place is now closed. We tried to call phone has been disconnected. Wish they would reopen with their historical films.

The Great Storm film is entertaining and worth watching. I'd skip the amateurish film on Jean Lafitte though.

My favorite exhibit was the chance to touch the stingrays. Parking is easy, and there is a food court plus a restaurant on-site.

I think Moody Gardens is worth it for children and only children. It is ridiculously overpriced. I…read morenever came here as a child, so this is coming from my current perspective. The concept of the three pyramids is cool, and the aquarium and rainforest pyramids were alright. They were still very small though, and did not showcase many interesting animals. The discovery pyramid was baffling as there is only a movie showing on the first floor and an extremely juvenile educational exhibit on the second floor. I can't believe there's an admission fee to enter just the discovery pyramid. We also saw the Dinos Alive exhibit, which was probably the most lame dinosaur exhibit I've seen. The 4D movie was catered to very young children. We got the after 4pm pass for $50 each, which includes access to all the attractions. We were done within two hours, even though we tried to stretch it out. We didn't do the ropes course/zipline or the waterpark though, but we saw that the waterpark is very small.

Bring a fan or chairs to set up outside if you're not watching in your car. Recommend to buy your tickets a head of time: the attendant can help purchase tickets but the way also check for your headlights to turn off during the movie. Tickets don't open until the day or so before movie. Audio comes on a FM radio channel- car battery needs to be on or bring a radio. We arrived @ 7:30 for a 9:00 PM movie, there was already a line for prime spots but it's worth getting there with about 1.5 hours to give to allow for checkin, finding a decent spot, and getting set up/going to the bathroom (porta potties were quite clean). They have a small concessions stand and one food truck when I went. Ground was wet so had to deal with a not so great parking or walking to the porta potty situation. Very barebones place but you get the experience you prepare for!

We showed up right at 7:30 to make sure we got a good spot, but honestly it didn't get full until closer to 8/8:30. Unfortunately there weren't any food trucks, but the concession stand had plenty of snacks. The movie was great, with not too many interruptions & I like that there were a lot of families there! Now considering there were families there I was kind of bummed when it all of a sudden started to smell real loud . People hotboxing their cars, couples smoking outside, but the best part was the EMPLOYEES smoking a blunt in the back. By the back I mean near the port-a-potties that are located in the back of the small parking lot. These weren't kids in high school that were tryna be cool, these were grown adults. Do what you want. Do it at home. But don't be bringing it around little KIDS & especially when it's your place of employment.
