I was so excited to see a movie at the theater. There is one movie theater on the island, and they can charge whatever they like. $9.73 for one adult at the matinee. The theater is clean, the recliners are very nice the assistant manger is very nice. The snack bar is absolutely overpriced. A bucket of popcorn and a 32 ounce drink is $15.00, but you do get a refill of popcorn and the soda. One ballpark beef hotdog is $6.00. read more

The bowling alley is fine and fun but if you are going to sell beer you should include non alcohol options.

I was surprised by this place. Very clean, nice big seats with big lighted buttons to control the recliner. Each seat had a table that could be rotated in or out as needed. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We arrived a bit early and the ticket taker encouraged us to wait at the seating by the bar and then came to let us know when the theater was ready. Nobody pushed drinks on us but kept an eye on us to see if we were looking for service. Count me impressed! The theater was on the cold side which is good for me but my wife wanted a blanket. read more

Been to this theater twice since the remodel. Once to see Barbie with my wife and her friends. The second time last night, 12/9/23. Went to see Godzilla: Minus One with my Dad. I have a soft spot for this theater location. (See my previous review before the remodel) Great movie, awesome theater seats and what not. Although I do feel they need to invest in better sound insulation for their theater rooms. I was watching Godzilla in room five. Unfortunately I was able to hear Renaissance by Beyonce playing in the room to the left. Other than the action scenes in Godzilla there's a few really awesome quiet scenes. But no! Here comes Beyoncé's singing and the bass blaring through the left wall. I know maybe some of these concert movies in theaters are a new thing. But still, if I'm not seeing the concert movie I don't want to hear it. I want to only hear the movie I showed up to watch with out distraction from some other movie. Other than they need better sound insulation treatment....this is a good theater on the island where I grew up. I'm glad there is still a theater here. Looking forward to the bowling alley opening. read more

Not the greatest of places to catch a flick BUT... You get to be in Galveston, which I love. You get a cheap ticket, which I love. This is my Go-To spot when I am loaded up to fish the surf and the fish are not agreeable. If I cannot catch fish, I can always catch a movie. This is also my Go-To spot when my daughter and I are loaded up to boogie board and the waves have decided to, well, not wave that day. If we cannot catch a wave, we can always catch a movie. Great popcorn, also! I'm guessing they are still using old-fashioned, heart stopping oil to cook it in :) . read more

Do they have reclining leather seats? Nope. Is the popcorn the best ever? Nah. And the ticketing situation is odd. But, this is a fine place to catch a flick on the cheap and easy. My wife and I were on the island for a couple of days and decided we wanted to see a movie. Strangely, the tickets are sold at the snack counter. Weird and confusing, but it worked. The place was as clean as any other theater ... not a lot of glitz ... but we enjoyed our show and had plenty of cheddar left over for after-movie drinks. We'll be back for sure. read more

Well, in fact its now Prime Time Cinema, but I'll stick with this designation for people wanting a review of the islands only cinema. I think they did a refurbish, but I'm not sure because I don't go to the cinema enough to notice. Seats are plush, and are in fact recliners. Bathrooms seem clean enough. Concessions are ridiculously overpriced, but in what movie theatre aren't they? As an aside, if one gets a chance they should see Nightmare Alley. This is inspired filmmaking and the kind of noire that is sadly absent as a genre. Motherless Brooklyn was pretty good also! read more

This is not a flagship theater. It's not your favorite art house cinema. It's not a mega complex with three dozen theaters to see your movie with 450 of your closest friends starting every 45 mins. But it is clean-ish. After watching all the preview commercials with major amounts of fuzz and "snow" but at the start of the movie, 'pop' the "real" projector kicks on and the picture is fine. Wish the projectionist cleaned the glass better, but it's just as watchable as 90-85% the theaters out there, just a little Corona effect on extreme contrast areas. But good. The good: It's cheapish... $8 for a late night show seems a little much but it is a single digit, so that beats most of the non dollar theaters. Day time (pre 6pm) seems like a sweet spot. Drinks are way more than a store, but it's not $7 for a large.... so there is that... The Bad: Is "Saved by the Bell still on?" It feels old and like 20 years out of date. Give me a break... There are no chairs to sit and wait for the movie. What is wrong with you... But the floors need a real cleaning. My theater was "HOT" Because the AC was broke. read more

First when you walk in employees just stare at you no one bothers to greet you in any fashion no one says hi welcome come in no one smiles literally just stare at you . then to top it off after you purchase your popcorn you cannot put butter on the popcorn yourself because for some reason they have to regulate it and they saturated it with butter and the butter was cold once I was ready to walk away feeling disappointed I asked for popcorn salt and they told me at that time popcorn salt you have to purchase what the .....? Galveston premier is so cheap. They literally charge you a separate price for salt! This should either be included into the popcorn price since the ticket is already $11.21 the building is old and smells like mildew still nothing is updated inside the theater this is just a poor excuse forthter elishment you guys suck. read more

Because it gets the job done. --- --- --- While miles from civilization halfway between Galveston proper and Freeport, we needed to find a theater, as Hunger Games had just come out, and we had the itch. We found Premiere Cinemas, and while this business will never win any awards for Theater of the Year, I appreciated its somewhat middle-of-nowhere location. People who live in BFE need to see movies too! It was a cheap ticket, and we had no complaints! As we were walking up to the entrance, it felt like we had taken a time machine back 20-30 years... definitely a little surreal :) read more

I was on vacation and decided to go back and see black panther. When I arrived I was told by the young lady at the concession stand where you had to purchase your tickets that I couldn't use my Fandango gift card, which I knew was obserd because I found the movie listing on the Fandango app. She assured me that they did not have a partnership with Fandango and I could not use the card. So I paid cash but as I sat down I went back on the app and saw the tickets were on sale. I went back out to the coccesion stand/ ticket sale counter and the girl was gone but her manager was now running the ticket sales. I asked about fandango and she said the girl was misinformed and that I could have used the app. I went through the whole process of purchasing through Fandango and getting my money back and finally back the movie. It was just frustrating not being given the proper info and having to go back and repurchase the tickets. The theatre is old and needs new seats there are no recliners or assigned seats and to be honest the seats seemed dirty and dingy. I don't think this is the only movie theatre on the island so I will seek another on my return to Galveston. read more

We reserved a private screening for Godzilla vs. Kong and absolutely loved it! The service was amazing, the staff friendly, and we were surprised to see reclining seats in the theater too! Of course prices have gone up: Matinee (from opening to 6 pm) $5.75 Adults after 6 pm $7.75 Kids and Seniors after 6 pm $5.75 3D Movies add $3.00 Of course they have gotten rid of student prices and snack prices are crazy expensive now. You can save money going to the Texas City Cinemark, while the theaters are old, the prices can't be beat, the screens are maintained and the projectors are newer. read more

The drink didn't taste right, while getting it changed the lady said that this happens, some people just don't like the taste of sodas at certain places. This is a really great movie theater! It is more on the smaller side, but I have never gone and had a problem finding a good seat. The seating is comfortable and the floors are always clean. The bathrooms are older but you can tell they are maintained and cleaned often. The concessions are pretty standard for a movie place and are reasonably priced. You get a free refill on large popcorn! The parking lot is large and never seems to be too filled, even for big movie releases. If you are in Galveston, this really is your only option and it is a pretty great one! read more
