    Back of the menu

I think this place has potential. Unfortunately, they were understaffed for a busy Friday night. We came in and were told by the bartender to sit anywhere. We decided to sit outside on the porch. Twenty minutes go by and the guy at the table next to us has gone in to pay his bill and I go in to ask for a menu and a server. The server comes out five minutes later and seems very annoyed by us being there. Asks for our drink orders (just waters) takes her ten more minutes to come back with waters. Then we get menus. She immediately asks if we want an appetizer without giving us any time to look. She says she'll come back. 12 minutes later she comes back and tells us that food will take 45 minutes. That's fine, we don't mind waiting. We order our appetizer and food. Twenty minutes later she comes to check on us and we order a beer each. She doubts our ID's (we're both women in our late 20's) but brings us our beers. Other tables are getting served before us and checked on more often than us. The server tells us they're regulars, but it would have been nice to get the kindness they were getting as new patrons. By the time the food comes out we have been there for over an hour and a half. I understand being slam packed (which they were) but to have cold food after waiting that long doesn't sit right with me. The waitress did apologize for the wait for the food and seemed considerably less annoyed with us by the time we were paying our bill. We were at Pier 59 for over two hours for two beers, chips and queso, a BLT, and chicken sandwich with a waitress who seemed annoyed by our existence. I think it's a popular spot for locals for a reason - it's in a pretty location for boats to come to, the bill for what we ordered was reasonable ($35 before tip), and they have a large variety on the menu. With more staff to better serve & cook on a busy Friday night (and maybe cheaper prices on some of the other food), it really would have potential. I do not think I will eat here again if I am in the area. But the food was edible, so three stars. I've also included a picture of the menu since you can't find one online anywhere.

They have the best crab claws in town and Mrs Janet will take care of you as if you were her own. We also love the Karaoke.

The restaurant was clean, well-appointed, and had a welcoming atmosphere. The service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and easily the highlight of the experience. Unfortunately, that's where the good news ended for me. While the portions were generous, I found the food to be pretty bland. Everything we ordered seemed to rely entirely on the flavor of whatever was being fried rather than any seasoning in the batter itself. The shrimp, catfish, and oysters were all cooked well enough, but they just lacked flavor. Even the fried okra, which is usually one of my favorites, was disappointing. If you're looking for large portions of simply prepared fried seafood, this may be your kind of place. For me, though, the food just didn't have the seasoning or flavor I was hoping for. I left wishing it had been better, and unfortunately, I don't see myself returning.

Nice spacious restaurant that's decorated nicely with a full bar. Friendly staff…read more Crab claws arrived hot. They tasted ok but there was way too much breading. Crab legs were average. Hubby had the oysters and fried catfish. He said oysters were ok just needed more cheese and catfish was too soft and not fried hard enough. All in all decent restaurant. Will go back and try something different.

The restaurant it self is unassuming and very casual. You will feel right at home here in shorts and flip flops. The food is the real gym. We had the grouper, and it tasted like it came off the boat that morning. Great flavor, tender and flaky, just like it should be. The season was on point, flavorful but not overpowering. I added the fried ahumó and glad I did. They were perfect. My wife added the crab cake, and that was excellent as well. Plenty of crab meat and not too much stuffing. If you are looking for fresh, authentic gulf seafood, this is the place to go. I can't wait for my mom to come to town from Nashville this will be a must eat for her.

Inside is one open area with basic wooden tables and chairs. We were seated right away. Waitress said it was exceptionally slow evening. Service was excellent as she was attentive ensuring we were ok. Their menu had a nice variety for everyone more than what's posted on Yelp. Sorry, I didn't take an updated picture of it. Gulf Shrimp looked and tasted like regular shrimps from the grocery store. Nothing spectacular. Baked potato was good. Surprised they gave artificial whipped butter tho instead of real butter. Hush puppies were ok. One commented Mac n cheese wasn't that great but everything else was. Another commented the pasta was very flavorful but a bit watery and noodles overcooked. We didn't have any adult beverages so can't comment on it. Younger one had an ice cream sundae and said it was very good. Price was reasonable as well. We'll consider going back when in the area again. Recommend trying especially the catfish.
