I came in here with higher than average expectations, and right out of the gate I was already going…read morefor four stars. But man, this is the south. And for one of the very rare times, I wish I could add a sixth star to this place. I think my bartender was Erica, nice older woman. At least that's what it was on my ticket. Top notch hospitality. Place was super clean, they had sports playing on one TV, and had enlightening music playing on the other. This is the way all of America should be. I'm on my no carb kick, so I ordered two grilled pork chops with a side of their signature Brussels, and turnip greens. Hold on for a second, I just got done eating about a half an hour ago, and I just had to wipe the saliva off of my mouth while writing this. First of all, my entire meal was under $18. How these Alabama restaurants give you insane portion sizes, and still make a profit is beyond me. The rest of these restaurants in the country need to take note. My plate was huge, and even though it was my only meal of the day, I was still able to take a portion of my second pork chop back to the truck to enjoy tomorrow with my breakfast. The bartender told me that they hired her son as a cook. If this kid keeps slinging these skillets the way that he is, No doubt he will end up being legendary. My brussel sprouts were super good, my turnip greens were OFF.THE.CHAIN. I make collards at home, and this is the very first time I've actually had greens better than my own. I'm actually considering going in there and buying a quart to have on the truck with me. My pork chops? mannnn, If you know me, you know I cook, and these pork chops were nothing short of amazing. Crisp and crunchy on the outside, super super juicy on the inside, seasoned to perfection. This is the food that dreams are made of ladies and gentlemen. I wasn't going to have supper here tonight, because I still have leftovers from last night, but this is the south. If you have a little bit of intuition, you got to go all in, and then thank yourself later. One of the best meals literally that I've had, since early May. I hope this place keeps cranking out the caliber service and food they have, and I certainly hope I'm back in this part of Bama, Because I will definitely be returning. Five stars, just isn't enough. ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. The steak was no where near 16 oz. You can get the same steak at Waffle House... seriously. It tasted a bit off, I only ate about a quarter of it. Super greasy. The baked potato was not fully cooked and chunky hard. BUT... the black eyed peas were great after I added salt, pepper, and vinegar to them. Maybe my expectations were too high on the food... maybe other items in the menu are better. This place gets an "eh"

No wait time during this lunch and the place wasn't too crowded. The bar is nice and I noticed the dining areas were very clean. There is an outdoor area with games and TVs. If it's raining, no worries! The outdoor area is covered. The menu has mostly pub food and there's a lot to choose from. They have a full bar with what look like daily specials. Our server was prompt, knowledgeable, and very friendly. My wife and I ordered our food and it came out pretty quickly. I ordered the smoked chicken stuffed potato and she got buffalo chicken fingers and fries. I loved the potato! It's a huge spud that has the smoked chicken, butter, sour cream, cheese, bacon and chives. Don't forget the Alabama white bbq sauce! Theirs is amazing! The only complaint I had was that the portion of smoked chicken was kinda small. It was excellently done chicken with a great smoky flavor! I just don't think they put enough of it on the tater. My wife said her chicken fingers were really good, she had hoped they would be tossed in buffalo sauce instead of the sauce on the side. But no big deal. The fries are pretty fantastic and the prices are really reasonable. A really good place for a meal and we're looking forward to coming back and trying something else from here! Thank you!
