It has been a while since I've visited this particular location. Came here for a bridal shower and everything was excellent from the food to the service. Our waiters were great and took orders and had our food out in good time. We had the room in the back and it was plenty of room for us. I had the whole red snapper grilled and it was the size of the plate! So much food! It had Cajun spices and was cooked perfectly. Great outing for lunch or dinner.

This visit was a hit! I absolutely loved my food and the great service received from Jackie and Andrea at the bar! Sitting at the bar was perfect since the restaurant in general was very crowded on a Friday night. The bar seating is very spacious with lots of TVs. It had been a very long time since my last time here so I didn't know what to expect. I was pleased. I ordered 1/2 dozen of raw oysters ; which were delicious!!! I also had a side of fried okra. Fried hard as I requested. Everything was so good & fresh. This location is smaller than other locations. I actually prefer this location overall. I will definitely return back soon to try more of their menu items.

I love this place . I've never tried red snapper and it tasted like just fish lol . I really do love eating here

My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch on Saturday. We were seated quickly, and our waitress, Precious, was wonderful! She was friendly, knowledgeable, and kept our glasses full! I ordered the fish tacos. You have the choice of grilled or fried fish. (I chose grilled). It comes with steamed brown rice and a spicy sauce. I also snagged some of my husband's Greek feta slaw, which was absolutely phenomenal! A truly delicious meal. My husband went for the fried catfish with French fries and Greek slaw. All that fried food is not really my cup of tea, but he enjoyed it said it was good. We had previously eaten at the Fish Market in Southside, but this was our first time at the Hoover location. We left happy with full bellies and a note to ourselves to remember this place again for a quick weekend lunch.

Blackened snapper and scallops (fish and shellfish combo) with Greek feta slaw and fried okra. Solid.

Fishand shellfish combo (blackened snapper and scallops) is may go to. Has been around a long time, great service, ambiance could be better.

Always consistent! We frequent the 280 and Hoover locations and have never been disappointed. A great place to take out of town guests because of their broad menu. Another thing that's consistent is me getting the Greek slaw as a side no matter the entree. An absolute must try if you like feta. I got the snapper Reuben this time and the bottom piece of bread was terribly soggy. Not a huge deal, but I wish I would've gotten my regular of vodka pasta + chicken or shrimp instead. Service is always friendly and fast. We went on a Friday at 6pm, there was a packed house and we were still served promptly. Will return as we've done time and time and time again

Our group had a fun time!

We had a group of 6 there last night. Our waiter, Oscar, was outstanding! Friendly, funny, very attentive and fast. Food was awesome. I had red snapper that was sooo good. And the calamari appetizer was cooked to perfection! Wait time was not long either...a couple of minutes. Just a wonderful experience.

We certainly made the right choice for lunch today. We both craved seafood, so we came to the Fish Market Restaurant & Oyster Bar in Hoover. I highly recommend it. My yellow fin tuna steak was delicious as was the salmon my wife ordered . The Greek slaw that she ordered as a side was also delicious. It's made with a Greek salad dressing (vinegar based) and feta. Real good. And, the food is affordable. We are for $20 plus tip. We will return, and when we do, we will ask for our waitress, Precious. She provided excellent service and knowledgeably answered every question.

The fried crawfish tails with fried okra and feta slaw was an amazing lunch. The service was spectacular and my food came out hot and fresh.

Food was outstanding. First time coming here. Totally thought it wasn't appealing from the outside and had no idea what to expect. We ordered the seared tuna for appetizer and it was so good. Forgot to take a picture. Husband ordered the burger and I got the Alfredo with shrimp. We will be coming back maybe once a month for sure.

Wedge salad, and I started eating before taking picture of entree and never stopped!

I was in town for my birthday and a group of 6 of us had dinner here. We arrived around 645 and the place was packed. We were seated within a couple of minutes. This place is spotless, servers are exceptional and the food superb. I felt like I was entering a country club with all the pretty people my age! I am a foodie and review everywhere we eat out of town. This place was never on my radar - outside doesn't match the inside! But so glad I was introduced by my friends! Loved the jumbo grilled shrimp, coleslaw and Greek potatoes. Wedge salad was so big my daughter and I shared it! Hush puppies were great also. You can tell a lot of love went into the menu bc the Greek influences are everywhere. Kudos to y'all it was delicious! Will come here again!

This restaurant consistently has great service and good food. The whole catfish is my go to it's seasoned well and fresh. The Mahi and salmon are absolutely amazing and can't forget the hush puppies.

Excellent!!! I had the whole seabass and my wife had the blackened red snapper. Came out hot and delicious. We sat at the bar but the service was great. Oysters were so good that we had to get a second serving.

The food and the service. However, take a wrap in with you because it's always cold in there if you're dining in. It's still worth it.

I sat on the patio, which made for a relaxing dining experience. Carlos took great care of me and provided friendly, attentive service throughout my visit. I started with the Oyster Pot, which includes four raw, four Rockefeller, and four chargrilled oysters. It was the perfect way to sample each style. While all three were good, the chargrilled and Rockefeller oysters were the standouts for me. The Rockefeller oysters were my favorite, so I couldn't resist ordering another dozen of those. If you're an oyster lover and can't decide which style to order, I highly recommend starting with the Oyster Pot. I choose the air conditioning over the entertainment but from what I was able to hear the young lady singing is very talented. When I came in I was NOT immediately greeted. It took a while to be acknowledged but once I was seated I had a great experience. My server was great and the atmosphere is really nice. It's dark with flickering hanging chandeliers. The place was clean with people actively cleaning. I started things off with a strawberry cheesecake martini and it was so good I wanted to curl up in a corner and tell them to keep them coming. It was like a dessert in a cup so if sweet isn't your thing, definitely skip this one. It was, however, not sickeningly sweet. It was perfect. I got a cup of the gumbo yaya, which has shrimp, crab, chicken, and sausage. It was some of the best gumbo I have had in a while. It was perfectly seasoned and had a little kick. Next, I had one of their specialties, the NOLA Chicken. You can choose grilled or blackened chicken served on top of creamy mashed potatoes with diced tomatoes, green onions, and covered in a delicious creamy lobster sauce with a side of grilled asparagus. It was delicious. The seasoning was spot on and the chicken was tender. The lobster sauce made the dish. My only complaint with the dish was a single stalk of reedy asparagus but the others were tender. My last course was the bread pudding. I really wanted to say how delicious it was but it was just good, not great. It was made from Gambino bread and had a warm whiskey cream sauce and chocolate drizzle but the pudding was missing something. Fruit like raisins maybe? It was just a little too bland for me. I'm definitely trying the key lime pie next time. I recommend this place for a nice night out

If you want a flawlessly executed steakhouse dinner in the Birmingham area without the pretentious price tag, this is your place. I ordered the 12oz ribeye with a baked potato, and both were cooked exactly to order. My wife started with their huge, fresh house salad before tackling the massive 16oz ribeye and a fully loaded baked potato. Honestly, the 16oz cut looked like something straight out of The Flintstones--it was beautifully charred, incredibly juicy, and absolutely massive. The service matched the stellar quality of the kitchen. Our waitress was incredibly attentive and kept my sweet tea topped off the entire night (which is no easy task!). We wrapped up the evening with a slice of chocolate cake. It was literally the size of a diner-style napkin dispenser--decadent, moist, and downright delicious. Budget-wise, it's a high-end steakhouse experience, so expect to spend a little money. However, compared to other premium steakhouses around Birmingham, their pricing is incredibly fair and easily on the lower end of the fine-dining spectrum. You get amazing portions, top-tier quality, and fantastic service. Highly recommended!
