We recently laid my brother to rest here, and it's really unfortunate that no one warned us about the decoration policy. This is something families should be told while making funeral arrangements, not left for them to discover later. If it's stated somewhere in the paperwork, that's not something most people are focused on when they're grieving. It's not right that everything was thrown away without any warning. We later found out that decorations are only allowed during certain holidays, but we didn't know that until we called to ask why everything was gone. We spent thousands of dollars on his funeral because we wanted to honor him and give him a beautiful place to visit and the least they can do is communicate and give a warning so we would be aware. It was heartbreaking to find out that everything had been discarded, including gifts left by his children. A simple conversation or even a courtesy warning before removing everything would have meant so much to our family. read more

Repeated Errors, Multiple Meetings, and Still No Resolution Our family entrusted Pierce Brothers with my mother's funeral arrangements and also began the process of prepaying arrangements for my father and sister. Unfortunately, what should have been handled with accuracy, compassion, and professionalism became an unnecessarily stressful and exhausting process. I had to meet with Pierce Brothers at least four times regarding the prepaid arrangements for my father and sister because information repeatedly needed to be corrected. The payment process was also confusing. I was initially asked to provide a check and was later directed to make an electronic payment. Between the repeated meetings, corrections, and changing instructions, the process became far more difficult than it needed to be. My frustration reached the point that I escalated my concerns to management. A manager even attended one of my meetings with the associate, yet I am still dealing with unresolved issues. I also left a message for the funeral director approximately one month ago because I felt further escalation was necessary. To date, I have not received a return call. When I asked the associate about the lack of response, I was told they were "just too busy with meetings." After multiple meetings, repeated corrections, and unresolved issues involving my family's funeral arrangements, being told that the funeral director was too busy with meetings to return my call was unacceptable to me. Meanwhile, I am still waiting for follow-up regarding my mother's headstone/memorial marker. I am also still waiting for the written documentation I specifically requested confirming that I chose a different casket than the one that had been selected in advance. This documentation is important to me, and despite my requests, I still do not have it. These are not unreasonable expectations. I am asking for accurate documentation, timely communication, appropriate follow-through, and resolution of outstanding matters. Families come to a funeral home during one of the most vulnerable and emotional periods of their lives. They should not have to repeatedly return to correct information, navigate changing payment instructions, chase documentation, escalate concerns to management, and then wait a month without a return call from the funeral director. After multiple meetings and attempts to resolve these matters directly, I should not still be chasing answers and resolution. I hope Pierce Brothers takes these concerns seriously and resolves the outstanding issues promptly. If they do, I will update my review accordingly. read more

This cemetery is not recommended for interring loved ones. Flowers were laid for my mother-in-law's first heavenly birthday yesterday, but when we returned today, they were gone. Although flowers are typically collected on Wednesdays, ours were removed on a Monday. My biggest piece of advice when dealing with this industry is to go through a broker. A broker will ease the process significantly. It's unfortunate the way we were treated here. You are simply looked at like a number; our representative was not accommodating whatsoever. Plots here can go easily over $100K - absolutely disgusting. Our saleswoman, decked out in designer clothes and expensive jewelry, tried to upsell us on an $80,000 cemetery plot. It was ridiculous. I get that plots and graves are going to be pricey, but we're in the middle of Norco--not exactly a bustling area like LA in terms of prices, scene, and location. They'll attempt to take advantage of you when you're in a vulnerable state, with fees for everything. Be prepared to exceed your budget--likely by a significant amount--at this facility. There's no sense of loyalty here. I already have a family member buried at this facility, and they still don't offer any discounts. They don't maintain the older sections, only the newer ones with available spots. What happens when those areas become old too? There was a person who brought a lawn mower and started mowing because the facility doesn't upkeep regularly. Our salesperson called security on them. That speaks volumes to me. read more

Pierce Brothers has provided the best service for me and my family. Patricia and Leslie both took the time to listen, and took action immediately to address our concerns. The site was in desperate need of maintenance having been overgrown and nearly covered in which did not allow space for flowers to be placed upon visits. They followed up no less than a week later to advise that the site had been completely renovated with a new plate, as well as new and additional spaces to place flowers. They have been very attentive with the other sites we visit also, by making sure the spaces for flowers for our family are consistently maintained. Today I attended services for a family friend. The mortuary is never the "ideal" place you want to be. However, the dedication, hard work, professionalism and the attention to detail that was received during our time there was very impressive. Ozzy was one of our service directors and he went above and beyond. I worked with him "behind the scenes" and he provided everything needed as requested. During the set up he helped move tables as requested, explained direction clearly and even insisted on sweeping the floor when a broom was requested. He kept everything moving smoothly in our time allotted. He was very kind. A true gentleman. Also, I wanted to say thank you to the florist team. We had found ourselves short a floral arrangement last minute. I stopped by the florist in need of a vase and white roses. They went above and beyond accommodating our request. After they "saved the day" they took a moment to say hello to my girls and had some very kind words for them. Thank you to everyone involved in helping the process for seamlessly. read more

Let's say this mortuary customer service picking up my grandma was very kind and general hearted and definitely gave us as much time as we needed to say our good byes before rolling her away. They were patient, sympathetic, and made grandma look beautiful. As for funeral, going to burial was very unprofessional and unpleasant nothing was organized and they weren't very helpful about organization they didn't announce things were starting and kind of stood in the way. For over a year I have been dealing with my mothers grave marker and this cemetery has consistently made errors and FORGOTTEN about my mother completely when it comes to her grave marker. They initially ordered the wrong size picture for her plaque and communicated that to me via text that they will be ordering a new picture. I moved out of state and was unable to check on my mother until I came back to visit 9 months later. And there was no picture!!! They apologized and said it got missed through the cracks somehow. An entire person's memory was forgotten by their team! Very upsetting. However they said they would order the picture again and it would arrive within 3 weeks. It has been a month now and I had my father check on it as I no longer live in California. Still no picture! He spoke to the office and they ordered the wrong size again!! I am very upset and hurt. My mother deserves more respect than this cemetery and team are showing. On top of this issue my mothers flower vase has gone missing TWICE! The first time I communicated with Maricela that I was upset and was given no explanation, I was left on read and ignored. The second time it happened Anthony took over and explained that it might have sank. Either way it is very upsetting that it took so long to get an explanation and because of how many errors and how long things are taking I no longer trust them. I am hurt and upset, this is now the 4th issue I've had with this cemetery and I would NOT recommend burying someone you love and care for here as their staff will not respect their memory. Left a review in 2023, leaving one again. I go visit my family members plots at least once a month. The past few visits I've had the grass is overgrown, patchy, dry, overall not maintained/cared for. I sent a complaint through the website and was met with the response "grass wasn't cut for the last week because of Holiday schedule." This grass was well over a week overgrown with areas dry as if it hadn't been watered for much more than a week. Aside from the emotional sensitivity of these plots, they are very expensive. I find this lack of care very disrespectful. read more

My mom passed away and we did her service there and she's also buried there and the people was so rude that worked there. I wanted to see the color of my mom's shoes before I put her to rest and they wouldn't let me they lied to me that another service was about to come in and I didn't even get the time that they told me I had with her. We had my grandfather's funeral services here on June 5th- June 6th and although everything came out beautifully, I am very disappointed in the treatment of the immediate family. Maricela helped us out, but did not give immediate family members priority/ the ability to grieve my grandfather together. Instead, she led NON FAMILY MEMBERS to the tent to sit down during the burial process. My family and I (the grandchildren) were treated as outsiders and did not get the opportunity to sit with our family. She let people who are strangers to my grandfather sit there and did not ask once if we wanted to sit down. We were left out in the sun. It's actually unbelievable that during a time like this, she let other people talk her into letting them sit under the tent when they had zero business being there at all. Employees were not ready for the service, it suppose to start at 11 am and the chapel was still closed. The sound service was no good. We were all very disappointed. They hurried us out of their like cattle, and they were all ready putting the pictures up of the next memorial. I would recommend you do a funeral at your church at least nobody is rushing you! Make sure their is no funeral happening after yours. Even if its paid for already , rent a church. Most churches rec is record it for you and can watch on yutube. read more

Let me start with, I never leave reviews, but I hope this can help someone make an informed decision of picking a resting place for a loved during one of the most difficult times. Unfortunetly if I could give zero stars, I would. Absolute disappointment, anger and frustration with Crestlawn. We, as a family understand the policy with placing flowers at the graveside (all flowers picked up the morning before the grass is mowed, after which, you can place new flowers later that afternoon or evening.). We have had multiple occasions when our flowers or decorations are taken by grounds keeping staff days prior to grass being mowed, when there are other graves, who clearly still have all their flowers and decorations still in place. We don't see a reason for this, other than victictivness for complaints that were made about dead grass around our parents graveside. We have brought up our concerns to the office with no resolve. This is a terrible way to treat a family who is hurting and just wants their loved one to have flowers at their final resting place. Save yourself the heartache and go somewhere else, they don't care about you once they have your money. read more

Selective and vindictive enforcement of flowers at grave site. Some graves are allowed to have flowers or decorations on the grass around the site. Others are thrown away when touching the grass around from the headstone. We left flowers and metal pinwheels on Sunday on moms birthday. Although half the cemetery has elaborate decorations on the grade sound the headstone, for us by Monday the maintenance crew came and threw everything in the garbage. When we speak to the maintenance they give us their best "sad" look and say nothing they can do. Then I get the feeling they want $$ not to destroy our decorations. To start off, Anthony and Kimberly were amazing helping my family. They helped us fit what we needed as a family for my sister's funeral. They handled everything above and beyond, we spent about 4 and a half hours with them and we were sold immediately. We couldn't have asked for better people to talk to. Just down to earth human beings. On the day of my sister's visitation, Ozzy was the man! We worked together and I let him know what we had wanted and he handled everything with professionalism and urgency like no other. This cemetery has a large employee turnover. When we started our relationship back in 2021, we dealt with Gustavo, who was replaced by Rolando Chavez, who later was replaced by Patricia Villarreal. I contacted the cemetery to make funeral arrangements with Rolando shortly after my mothers passing in March of 2022. When they informed he was no longer there, which was upsetting as Rolando took care of business and made things go smooth after I expressed my concerns. I requested to speak with someone who was as attentive as Rolando. I got Patricia Villarreal as the new contact. We had a phone conversation and made an appointment to meet with her and my siblings. Her approach was not friendly, but more of a rushed, I'm busy type of person. I had typed up our mothers information along with my siblings name, yet when we met up, she asked for them again, and constantly interrupted whoever was speaking. The day of the service, which should've started at 1pm, Patricia came to me and asked if we can wait an hour longer to lower the casket, as they were about to lower another casket across the path. I was annoyed by her for even asking this. The hardest part at a funeral is the lowering of the casket, yet, to Patricia it wasn't such a big deal. I walked her over to my siblings so she can explain to them the crazy request. Obviously, my siblings weren't happy with her and told her NO, and for her to keep her word as it was on the contract. By early June, we paid for a new headstone so both my parents information could be on there. It's now January and still no headstone. The 1st one was missing words, the 2nd one came in with the edges cracked, so now we have to wait longer. My mother's 1 year of passing is coming up on March 29th, and we the family were expecting to have the headstone placed. It's a relief to know, that no other family members will be buried here. read more

My mother is buried here. One way I cope with her loss is decorating her grave.She loved flowers. I noticed that when I leave her fresh flowers and come back they are not as beautiful in the evening do to scorching heat we have in the summer. So I decorate with plastic flowers, and they are beautiful decorations. I will sit and talk to my mom for more than an hour once a month. Talk to her about life, about her grandchildren, about dad. I played her favorite music. But it seems that your new rules are meant to hurt people like me. I write this review with my eyes full of tears. If you're looking to purchase a lot here, please, PLEASE PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE. They're kind and pretend to care and be there for you when you lose a loved one. But after they're buried, this place DOES NOT CARE about you afterwards. You pay thousands & thousands of dollars for a lot & it is supposed to be yours. You paid for that spot and they don't let you add flowers or little decorations to honor your loved one? In my case, my family built a small cross to put on my dad's grave and 4 lights and a few flowers. Twice it has happened that they throw everything away. The lights and cross are not cheap. But they don't care or give a damn. I found their dump site where they just toss your loved ones memorabilia like it's garbage. There I found the flowers they threw away and Found the lights but they were smashed and I can only assume the cross was already taken away by the dump truck. PLEASE. PLEASE, When the time comes to plan for funeral services etc, PLEASE go to a different cemetery. We have all lost people and the other cemeteries I've been to in my life, I don't see the staff treat their people the way pierce brothers treats you. From start to finish, I am grateful for the staff we were with. My family was hit with a loss of my mother and this was the first time my siblings and I had to plan a funeral. Zack helped us plan everything from the chapel to fonts on the pamphlets. Roseanna helped show us all the available plots. She drove us around the entire cemetery and helped us decided which spot was best for us. She said, "it's a feeling, you'll just know what feels right." When it came to the day of the services, Oswaldo and Skylar were so helpful. Skylar made sure my mom's makeup was freshened up before closing her casket, and asked which flowers we wanted taken up the burial site. Oswaldo, I cannot thank him enough. Day of the services it's hard to focus on where to stand when people enter or and were the immediate should be....and he made everything so effortless. When one of our pallbearers couldn't fulfil the role, Oswaldo stepped in without hesitation. Their attention to detail made our day less of a burden. Thank you. read more

We waited 7 hours for the removal of a loved one. In the peak of July. I am sadden that i paid in full for a cremation contract. We paid almost 16K for a cremation service. This place is not the same how it used to be. I feel like the staff doesn't care anymore. It was my sisters 13th birthday on Monday the 9th I went to drop off flowers and balloons and asked if they still have out there pink flags so that her flowers won't get removed a day later and they discontinued that! So basically my baby sister had her bday decor and flowers for a day. Second of all the grass was not trimmed or cut and her headstone was slanted. Finally she has 2 vases for flowers and the 2nd vase was no where to be found the grass was so high you couldn't see it it took my family to go out trim around her headstone clean it and dig up the second vase. Crestlawn cemetery in Riverside has been in possession of my Dad's remains since January 2. They have given me nothing but the run around, including (from Patricia): 1. Repeatedly quoting prices to bury both parents- my mom is alive. 2. Requiring me to purchase a marker from them despite my asking if I could purchase elsewhere. 3. Making decisions regarding burial receptacles without my consent. 4. Giving me different prices every week and never providing me an itemized list. 5. Offering me a brochure of marker choices but never providing one. 6. Trying to sell me a marker for my parents first child despite the fact that he has been buried for 65 years without a marker. When I asked for a manager the GM, Kai, called me last week and when I told him I was working and needed to talk another time he just kept talking. My boss called and I told the GM I had to go, said goodbye and hung up. The GM emailed me asking when I could talk. I gave him a time on the weekend and he refused to meet then. I chose this afternoon and he had his assistant Stephanie call me. She was incredibly nasty. Talked over me, made excuses, even told me that the GM didn't want to talk to me because I hung up on him (big baby). The manager suddenly told me, AFTER I told her I was responsible for my father's arrangements because of Mom's dementia, that they can't talk to me because Mom is next of kin and I have to provide a medical note. I asked her why she was acting this way to a grieving daughter and she just said, "Wow" over and over, then said, "Well, now I'm going to follow all of the rules to the letter because of the way you are acting". By what, expecting decency, kindness, respect, and no gouging? Not once have I heard, "I'm sorry, our condolences". Nothing. I've been the only family member in communication with them for almost 2 months and NOW they want a medical note????? It is January 20. My father passed on December 9. We are not having services, at his request. Yet here we are. Never, ever bury a loved one at Crestlawn. Or, try to, I guess. After that conversation I spent the rest of the day at work fighting back tears. read more

On July 11, 2024 Friends, Family, and Representatives from the Riverside County Sheriff's Department including Sheriff Bianco gathered at the Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park in memory of Deputy Ed Schrader who was killed in the line of duty 50 years ago on that date. We were professionally assisted through out the event by Crestlawn personnel lead by Ms. Daniela Tafolla. Recognition of Deputy Schrader's service and sacrifice was gracefully and gratefully presented by all who attended; a true example of Law Enforcement's pledge to never forget those who pay the ultimate sacrifice. Sincere appreciation is extended to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department and to Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery for their assistance and for taking care of Deputy Schrader for the past 50 years. Update: Manager Rolando did respond and has remedied the situation. He promised to monitor the grounds around my sister's resting place. Please hold the gardeners responsible for keeping up all the sites at all times. No one should have to go through this. Thank you! My sister passed in 2009. When her daughter was in town to visit her for Thanksgiving 2020, this is what she found (see picture below). Grass has grown over all the headstones on the hillside. She had to dig and tear through the grass on many others to find her mom's resting place. This is NOT acceptable! When she went in the office they told her that they haven't been able to maintain due to winds. This was months worth of overgrowth and not what we paid for. Our family is very distraught over the poor care received from Pierce Brothers. Pierce Brothers, you need to make this right!! read more

My previous feedback was deleted after being flagged (I wonder who made that happen). Anyways, as a result, I'm making adjustments to my review so it is in line with Yelp guidelines. The management team here is COLD and resorts to corporate speak when engaging with clients, see responses from them for examples. My issue with Dignity Memorial is that they implemented a new no decoration rule that impedes the mourning and healing process for family members of the deceased buried here. What is the reason for this change? It feels like they're just trying to sell and focused on money rather than the experience of those mourning the loss of loved ones. There is NO Dignity or compassion in this business approach. I have advised everyone in my network not to bury their loved ones here or at any Dignity Memorial site. In the time my grandparents have been here, their headstone and/or plot have been damaged by cemetery staff more than 5 times. They've been buried for under 2 years. read more
