They clearly explained the entire process, which brought us some peace of mind during a very difficult time. We were specifically looking for a funeral home with a crematory on-site, and Thomas Miller fit that need perfectly. Not only did they have the soonest available date in all of Southern California among the many homes we contacted, but the venue itself was also beautiful and well maintained. For our Hindu service, the staff's knowledge and experience stood out. They were deeply familiar with the rituals and respectful of every detail. The entire arrangement was made during a single visit, which was especially helpful while we were in mourning. We worked closely with Devonne, who was a true professional--always available via email, text, or phone. Coordinating the flyer content, flower arrangements, and audio files remotely was seamless and allowed us to focus on other aspects of the ceremony without additional trips to the funeral home. The level of service we received was outstanding. Every staff member we encountered was courteous, solemn, and attentive. The venue's spacious hall accommodated a large crowd comfortably, and the included live-streaming service was a thoughtful touch for those who could not attend in person. Today I have decided to write a 1-star review for Thomas Miller Mortuary and Cremation services in Corona California. I hate doing this because we have given this mortuary a lot of business over the years, but my last experience with them just destroyed that relationship. First, the staff is incompetent, at least the ones I dealt with. Unfortunately, I needed to have cremation services provided for an individual who was not family but whom I was responsible for. I didn't need anything fancy. I went in for a quote, it seemed reasonable so I said let's do it. They called me back about 2 hours later and the price, of course, had gone up...this was after I had asked several times before I left...if the price was the price. Apparently it was going to cost me 300 dollars more because the county morgue needed to squeeze me for a fee. It would have been nice to have an experienced staff member point this out to me...but of course Thomas Miller is sleezy. Next, when I went in to pay, they neglected to tell me they charge 4.5 percent more for you to use your credit card...so I did not bring my checkbook. Guess they figure you'll just cough up money because your grieving. So, I had to go back a third time, to write a check. No problem, I just want it done. Now here is the cherry on the ice cream...they looked at the check when I paid...but called me a week later and said it was made out to the wrong service. I had to make it out to their cremation service...I had made it out to Thomas Miller, and their wonderfully inept staff, again, didn't say a word...so I had to go back a FOURTH time. This time hopefully it will get done, but they got piece of my mind. They don't care...I got the proverbial "sorry about that"...which really means...well you know. Lastly, I asked for the manager to call me...yeah...I'm still waiting...and waiting...and guess what, it's been almost two weeks and my loved on is still not cremated. Maybe Thomas Miller will find another excuse to delay...or squeeze me for some more cash. If you can, find somewhere else to go. We've done a lot of business with this mortuary, but that ended today, and unfortunately I cannot recommend them. Who knows, maybe I'll get someone else's loved one and not even know it! This is in regards to the parking. I arrived on time to the service of a loved one. Upon entering the parking area it was completely full. There was no over flow parking available, no one guiding traffic or trying to help. All the residential parking behind the mortuary was full. I tried to park at two nearby businesses only to be told they would tow my car. It was such a horrible experience and it caused me to be late to the service when I was on time. I called the mortuary to let them know I couldn't find parking just to be told I'd have to find parking out in the street. If you are expecting a large attendance DO NOT have your loved ones services here. The nearby businesses must be used to this telling people they will tow your car as you try to park and leave your car. read more

They came & picked up my father after he passed & were so professional in the manner of how they got him out of the building. They were very accommodating each step of the way. They handled all the arrangements. The gentleman who accompanied my father to the service were absolutely wonderful, polite, friendly & sincere. We recently suffered the passing of our 5 year old princess. Undoubtedly it has been the most devastating time of our lives. Keisha has been the most compassionate and amazing person. She worked so hard to make everything so very special for our princess and also for our family. We will be forever grateful for all the help and support she provided us. I just ran a service here...I called the day before and asked how I would get a video up on the TV's and was given "DVD" 1st: No one makes DVD's in their homes! I asked if we could use a flashdrive and they said yes...so now I get it on a flash drive and get there to have them not know why it isnt working. (A granddaughter of the deceased took her time and emotions to make this video to have it not work) Then I said forget it, can you just turn off the tv so that it isnt distracting with a menu up...NOPE. (They didnt forget to turn it off when it was time for us to leave though) They had no tissues up at the podium for the people speaking (there is literally a perfect spot for a box of tissues meant for that on the podium) [less bothered about because that is a detail that just would have been above and beyond service] Finally, They did not lock the door, or block off the door that is less than 20 feet from the podium, so people unknowingly kept opening the door to be surprised by a several dozen mourning people The only saving grace is that the people didnt know any better because it was about their family member so I wasnt going to say it in the middle of the service. Update: Chris called me and attempted to make it right and CeCe from walker called me and apologized even though it wasn't her fault! She is an angel! I also forgot to say in my post how the embalmer came out in her rubber water boots and was yelling orders when they where loading my dad's casket on the flatbed that was brought in for his last ride! I was so utterly disgusted that she would have the nerve to come out and try to run our service in rubber boots especially in our current Covid scare. so unprofessional and unsanitary SMDH I guess she felt she had to help our funeral director Frankie because she had no idea what she was doing and I literally had to run my father's funeral and pass out the programs after the funeral and make the the needed announcements of the luncheon. She was able to explain all the necessary steps to take. She made arrangements with the hospital for transportation. She made necessary notifications, provided paperwork, obtained death certificates, contacted the cemetery and set up a time for the military service at Riverside National Cemetery. This is an update to my 5 star post on July 29, 2022. The mortuary and their services were outstanding, but what wasn't outstanding and quite disturbing is the after visit that was set up on the pretense of "grief counseling." Diana, whose real title is preplanning counselor (I found this out by looking at the Thomas Miller website), contacted me to see how we were doing as a family after the passing of my mom. I thought this was so wonderful that the mortuary cares so much about us. I confided in her with some personal information and we set up a time that she could meet with us. I even asked if she could meet with my dad to speak to him privately as he was really having a hard time. So, she came to help me, my brother, our caregiver and my dad. Well, she read us "grieving rights" that was on a sheet of paper and proceeded to try and sell us preplanned funeral arrangements. She even said to me, "If you passed, two days ago, who would be making the decisions for your funeral?". She became a saleswoman right before our eyes. I could tell my dad was getting upset and asked her to please stop with this line of conversation. She did. My dad was upset for 2 days after her visit. Instead of feeling better, he felt even worse. It is for this reason, that I am changing my review. I gave Thomas Miller Mortuary a week to respond to my email about this situation and they have not responded what-so-ever. read more

My mother passed in late December. We chose Thomas Miller because a member of our family had used them before. Our initial consultation was outstanding and we chose cremation and interment with my father at Riverside National Cemetery. No funeral or fanfare. Simple arrangements that I expected to take a week or two. I asked them to keep me posted so I could go visit the cemetery when mom arrived. I don't have the exact date on which I finally called THEM for an update, but I believe it was about four weeks later. They told me mom was going to be cremated that week - in Fullerton. Their website states they "own and operate our own private crematory" which led me to believe it was on-site in Corona, but apparently that is not the case. For some reason it bothered me greatly that my mom's body had been lying in a refrigerator for a month while I believed she was well on her way to resting beside my father. My mother's cremains didn't arrive at RNC until February 1. I am comparing this with my father-in-law's cremation in 2019 that took eight days. So, they lose one star for taking too long. They lose the second star for their aggressive final-arrangement marketing efforts. In mid-January, before my mom was even cremated, Diana began calling me to try to set up a meeting with my husband and I to discuss pre-planning for OUR funerals. She was simultaneously calling my brother. Then I began to get text messages from Sarah and finally a call from second gentleman whose name I do not recall. It was just too much. When you're already overwhelmed trying to tie up all the lose ends of your parent's estate, and doing so with less that optimal focus because you're grieving, the last thing you have time for is making your own arrangements. It is a predatory marketing tactic that's meant to take advantage of people at their weakest moment and I thought it was worth a warning to others. read more

Well, this was not a place I ever thought I would have to review. However, I will say that the good people at Thomas Miller mortuary helped us through the process of planning and completing a funeral (which was beautiful, by the way). From the very start, they were kind, courteous, respectful, and very helpful. We did not get the used car salesman vibe at all during the entire process. They were more than willing to help us throughout everything. Really made it easy for a grieving family to obtain the items necessary to put on a wonderful and memorable service, while maintaining utmust respect the entire time. In addition, the assistance by the representatives during the funeral service was first rate. I would especially like to recognize Patrick for his efforts. He is a true professional and I really appreciated his presence. Moreover, we had some barriers with the hospital in obtaining a death certificate. First and foremost if you are reading about funeral homes. I am sorry for your loss. Those five words can make a world of difference. My family and I visited three different funeral homes and only one said those five words. It was not Thomas Miller mortuary. This was the first funeral home we visited after my father passed away. Upon reading the positive reviews on Yelp and the strong recommendation from church, I was under the impression we would only have to visit one. I was mistaken. Upon our arrival we were told to go wait in a counseling room. Beautiful music played while we sat and waited for more than 15 minutes. Finally a representative from Thomas Miller meet with us. She was friendly as she took down vital stats. We informed her that my father was a veteran and he would like to be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery. The representative took my dad's dd214 and disappeared for 20 minutes. We had no idea what she was doing (apparently she was scheduling with Riverside National Cemetery about a burial, which we didn't fully agree on the date.) Then another representative comes in a fat young man who threw forms to release the body of my father to their custody. It was here that we became fed up and did not like how they unprofessional Thomas Miller was conducting themselves. We walked out and told them we will be in contact. The following morning we get a call informing us that they have taken possession of my dad. Two weeks later they slap us with a bill. My family agreed on another funeral home who walked us through the whole process and where Thomas Miller went wrong. 1) I am sorry for your loss. Thomas Miller representatives never extended sympathy to a grieving family. 2) Thomas Miller did not reveal the state governing board to ensure proper procedures were followed. A CFB(California Funeral Board) informational pamphlet will be made available upon initial meeting. Thomas Miller and their representatives did no such action. 3) Copies. Obviously with military service certain paperwork must be provided. With that being said they should have taken the paperwork copied it and then gave us back the original. 4) Price list and price break down. This should be made perfectly clear during the initial meeting. 5) Taking a person's signature without properly explaining what the person is signing is misleading and immoral. There were so many forms that my mother wasn't sure what she was signing or initialing, the representative from Thomas Miller should have slowed the process down and made it clear what was going on. That being said, a funeral is never a happy time. There are plenty of emotionally distraught people, do not let people take advantage of you in such a weak time. Which is what Thomas Miller did. Had my baby cremated at 14 weeks gestation. Thomas Miller was the most affordable and understanding. They had to go pick up the remains from Anaheim, they cover anything within I believe a 20 mile radius so I didn't have to pay extra for the mileage. Paul was constantly in communication and keeping me updated. Unfortunate circumstances but they definitely made the process easy. read more

My father passed away unexpectedly on May 18, 2020. I was devastated and lost as to what I needed to do. A friend recommended this funeral home and I am so glad he did. Devonne took care of me and was very professional, polite, sympathetic and walked me through every step. I appreciate how kind everyone I encountered here was to me. Nobody ever wants to be put in the position where they have to make arrangements for someone they love, but since I had to I'm so glad that I chose them to help me. My father was a Veteran and we held a viewing and he was buried at Riverside National Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 I couldn't hold a traditional funeral, but they set up a beautiful viewing for my father. We were in the chapel, it was so peaceful, music was playing softly in the background, a microphone was set up for me to speak and my dad had an amazing flag draped on his casket to honor him.
