This was supposed to be a routine preventive exam, which under my insurance does not require a copay. During the appointment, the doctor asked if I had any concerns since my last visit. I answered honestly, assuming that was a normal part of an annual checkup. At no point was I told that responding to that question could result in an additional charge. Only later did I find out that my visit had been expanded and billed in a way that generated a fee. If discussing concerns during an annual exam leads to extra charges, patients should be clearly informed beforehand so they can decide how to proceed. Given the recent issues involving Dr. Pierce Portin and the office, this kind of billing practice raises additional concerns about transparency and trust. Patients deserve clear communication--not unexpected charges after the fact. Transparency matters. Patients shouldn't be surprised with unexpected charges for simply answering their doctor's questions during what is supposed to be a covered annual visit.

Every visit made me feel more comfortable with my decision. I was unexpectedly told that I would need to be induced three weeks before my due date because of two high blood pressure readings. I was extremely nervous, and after being in the hospital for a few days, the induction unfortunately failed. I was very against having a C-section, but Dr. Gamburg took the time to walk me through the entire procedure and made me feel calm and reassured. In the end, I had a very smooth surgery and recovery. I will forever be thankful that God placed me and my baby in his care and hands.

As a first time Momma-to-be in a new town (just moved from NY to NJ), my husband and I were looking…read morefor new doctors in the area. Knowing that we just found out we were pregnant and I didn't want to travel back to NYC to see my OBGYN, I had to decide where I wanted to go. I asked around - in all different FB groups and read reviews like crazy. EVERYONE recommended DEL VAL! I also had a friend of the family, who just had her 2nd baby say that she WOULDN'T GO ANYWHERE ELSE. So I decided to give DELVAL a chance and boy was I impressed. It takes a lot to impress me as my sister is an OBGYN herself and I hear a lot from her... but I was blown away. First of all, the office staff! And I need to be specific because there is someone in particular who has literally made my day every single time I have been in the office.. GINA! She has been nothing shy of amazing! If there was any issue at all with scheduling or time she would do everything possible to make sure I was taken care of. She is kind, friendly and patient and deserves a RAISE! I feel like she's my OBGYN Mom now :) I have 2 weeks to go before baby arrives and I'm going to miss seeing her all the time. Jenna has also been super super nice and friendly to me each time I have seen her. I actually wasn't feeling well last week at my checkup for 37 weeks and she made me feel very comfortable and relaxed and reassured me that she was right outside if I needed anything and to just yell for her and she would come running. (I was dizzy and lightheaded) Last but not least - the Doctors! AMAZING! I have chosen to not see any of the midwives and have just been seen by Doctors and EVERY SINGLE ONE has been amazing! I made sure throughout my entire pregnancy that I got to see each Doctor and spent a little time with them. I COULD NOT be more pleased. Dr. Ung & Dr. Gamburg I have seen the most because from day 1 I felt so at ease with them. They have been my go-to doctors and have always made me feel I was in the best hands. Dr. Proctor is the sweetest doctor ever. She came in and spoke to me "woman to woman" with no BS attached and being a New Yorker..I appreciated it that. She was so down to earth and easy to talk to. Every doctor's bed side manner was perfect! I have never looked forward to going to the OBGYN office and thanks to DELVAL - I do now. If you are going anywhere else and are unhappy - leave and come here... if your looking around like I did... and considering DELVAL? Don't hesitate. Nothing bad to say about this office and this staff and team of Doctors! xox Melissa Pistilli

It's taken them over 3 business days to send a clearance for an antibiotic for an infection in my tooth. No one answers the nursing line, and they don't call you back for days. The doctors are great, everything else is not good. If you need to make or change an apt. I would recommend driving to the office.

At my first well woman visit at this practice, the midwife caught that my thyroid felt enlarged, and sent me for blood work and an ultrasound. It turned out I'm hypothyroid, and thanks to the early detection, I was able to get on medication quickly. I've also been with this practice through two pregnancies. The first was low risk until I sadly went into preterm labor and delivered my daughter at 22 weeks. The second was high risk and involved many, many appointments, both with the OBs and with the MFM at the hospital. I've gotten to know all of the OBs who deliver babies at this practice (there are 8) and they all are fantastic. Dr. Balwani delivered my daughter, and while I didn't get a chance to see her in my pregnancy with my son, she saw me in the hospital after delivery. It was good to connect with her again in a situation that had a better ending than the first time. Dr. Grant held my hand through scary carrier screening results in my first pregnancy, and admitted me to the hospital in at 23 weeks my second pregnancy because she believed my concerns and took me seriously. Luckily, baby and I were fine. Then, she wrote a strongly worded letter to the insurance company when they tried to deny payment for my hospital stay. The insurance company paid up after that. Dr. Leedom was so kind and reassuring at all my appointments. In fact, I saw her for a concern I had in between the loss of my daughter and conceiving my son, and I was impressed with her bedside manner. She takes the time to answer all your questions and never rushes you. She explains everything thoroughly. Even though the answers aren't always what I want to hear, I appreciated her taking the time to explain things. Dr. Loeb happened to be on call the weekend I presented at the hospital, when it turned out I was in labor with my son. I was almost 35 weeks. I'd been iffy on him in my first pregnancy, so I hadn't seen him in my second. BUT, I have egg on my face now. Dr. Loeb ended up performing an emergency c-section when it became clear that my baby was in distress. I had minimal complications with recovery thanks to his skill. I and my husband thanked him multiple times for saving our baby, but Dr. Loeb is very humble and almost seemed embarrassed by our praise. If you end up needing a c-section, you want Dr. Loeb to do the surgery. Dr. Miranda is wonderful. She is incredibly personable and, like Dr. Leedom, takes her time and doesn't rush. I often ended up seeing her at the Bordentown office when I needed a last-minute appointment, as Lawrence is incredibly busy and rarely had same-day openings. I actually liked the Bordentown office a lot because it was so quiet! Dr. Przybylko performed my cervical cerclage surgery at 22 weeks in my second pregnancy. The cerclage held until I went into labor at almost 35 weeks (for reasons unrelated to the cerclage). I'm thankful for her skill which helped prolong my pregnancy, because without it, I'm convinced I would have lost my second pregnancy in the same manner as I lost my first. Dr. Stanell is utterly fantastic. He was the doctor who discharged me after my daughter was born. He ordered a lot of tests for me to help rule out causes for my loss. And, he ordered other tests in my second pregnancy and assured me that I wouldn't have to go past 39 weeks given my history. In fact, I had a scheduled induction with him, but I didn't make it that far! Dr. Tashjian is so kind and also wonderful. She believed me and my concerns and was so empathetic when I cried in the exam room. She made it possible for me to be seen at the MFM's office a day before my scheduled appointment. I ended up having my cerclage surgery done the next day. I know on certain corners of the internet, OBs get a bad rap and people prefer midwives. They think OBs are dismissive and uncaring and push c-sections because it's "more convenient" for them, but I don't think that's true at all. There are inevitable personality clashes, but at the end of the day, the OBs at this practice care about a healthy mom and a healthy baby. I plan on staying here for my well woman visits, and if I was to have another pregnancy, I would totally trust them with my care.

On my first visit, I explained some concerns I had to her. She asked some follow up questions and then proceeded to totally dismiss my concerns and symptoms in a very condescending, unempathetic, and unprofessional manner. She said that other patients had it so much worse than me so I should consider myself lucky. How does that help me? She then told me to deal with it because what I was experiencing wasn't that bad. It was very upsetting to be treated that way. I tried to find another doctor for my yearly exam but couldn't since I waited until the last minute so I ended up going back to Dr. S out of convenience. I had an extremely hard time getting an appointment with her since no one there ever answers the phone. You have to leave a message and wait for a call back and hope that when they call back you'll be able to answer the phone. I finally gave up on the phone and dealt with them strictly on the online portal, where I went back and forth a few times just to make an appointment. When I arrived for my appointment, the front desk receptionist was not friendly at all. The women at the front desk are always dismissive at best. This woman had absolutely no personality, except to perk up a little and talk with the other receptionist negatively about another patient. I went back and spoke to the Medical Assistant who asked me irrelevant questions. At least she was friendly and nice. She gave me a gown, told me to change, and wait for the doctor. I was not given a paper drape for my lower body like is usually given, only a gown. This time Dr. S told me that Pap smears were only recommended every two years now, so she wasn't going to do it since I had one last year. I asked her if my insurance would pay for it and she said yes. Then she said it was not a good idea for me to do it because if I got a false positive for something, then I'd be worried for no reason. She said she had seen that happen many times and did all she could to talk me out of the Pap smear. I was not in the mood to argue with because I just wanted to leave, so I agreed not to do it. I was annoyed though. If my insurance would cover it, then why shouldn't I get a test done if I wanted it? I paid for the insurance every month out of my paycheck so it should be my choice. In addition to the skipping the PAP smear discussion, De S asked me the same irrelevant questions as the Medical Assistant did. Despite me being there before she had no idea who I was. At least review my chart for 60 seconds before you walk in and sit down. She did the exam, and at one point, I was lying there pretty much naked, since since there was no paper drape covering my lower body and the gown was open in the front. That made me uncomfortable but she did not seem to notice. Maybe that was their new way of doing things. Were they trying to save money on paper? I have never experienced that at any other gynecologist. It was ridiculous. I couldn't wait to get out of there! I was so disgusted. She sat at the desk for a few minutes, updating my file as I looked around the room. The office overall is a mess. The exam room walls were three different colors, the paint was chipped, and the floors had all scuffed, peeling hardwood. It needed a good cleaning too. The entire place needs a cosmetic, as well as an attitude adjustment, and an empathy overhaul big time! I do not recommend Dr. S because I feel like she doesn't really care about you as a person. She doesn't even remember who you are. No matter what you say, she does what she wants to do, is dismissive of your concerns and feelings, and doesn't take them seriously. Dr. S doesn't see or care if you're uncomfortable emotionally or physically. She gets in and gets out and then bills your insurance. If you need a quick exam, she's competent enough to do that but that's it. If you need anything behind that, don't bother going to her. You also have to deal with the nightmare of making an appointment with her office and the whole not answering the phone thing, so it's not worth it. She has several reviews on healthgrades and other websites from patients who have had bad experiences that were very similar to mine. I do not recommend her and neither do many other patients. Some words used to describe her that I think are accurate are: Condescending Demeaning Impatient Mean Rude Unempathetic Unprofessional Choose another doctor!

Upon calling the office for guidance after experiencing terrible nausea & vomiting, It was brought to my attention that they never scheduled me as a new OB patient. They gave me 1 week to get labs / US before coming in for my rescheduled appointment. After my first appointment, pinky the scheduler couldn't wait for me to respond to schedule following appointments and filled me in wherever. I made my night shift schedule according to what I was given and at the time it made my scheduling easier. Then came the calls to reschedule- I work nights and have 2 older kids in school- plans had been made already and this became very inconvenient switching shifts and making sure I had someone to pick up & drop my kids off to school. After week 19 of pregnancy - I brought it to my providers attention that I had a VERY strong history of preeclampsia and not once had my urine been checked for protein. I left a sample at this visit- and it had still not been checked. However, what they did check my urine for was drugs, after answering every question about drug use with NO! 3 visits in a row- I left urine samples for them to check my urine, and this had not been done. This practice does not listen to their patients concerns or take their history into consideration. I will NEVER use this office, nor would I recommend their services to anyone.

Absolutely horrific, they should be ashamed how they treat their patients…read more I came to this office in January after struggling to get pregnant. I saw Dr. Rastogi, and she immediately diagnosed me with PCOS and told me I need to go to a fertility doctor. I was of course alarmed, overwhelmed, and shocked because I had not heard this before. (I am in my 30s, and this was the first time I was hearing PCOS). I asked if there was anything we could do to help regulate my cycle before jumping to that drastic measure, like supplements, at home testing, natural methods and she said "you could get back on birth control, or lose some weight." My BMI is 24, I am not overweight. And how awful to suggest going back on birth control, when she knew we are trying to get pregnant. The only positive thing that came out of this visit, was a referral to Dr. Keegan, the fertility specialist. I have been a patient of Dr. Keegan's since January, and happy to report am now 8 weeks pregnant. They told me to schedule an appointment with my OBGYN for 10 weeks. I called Princeton OBGYN and after being on hold for 45 minutes, just requested a call back. Someone called me back , and said "Sorry we are not accepting new patients." I said I am not a new patient, I am a current patient. She said "We are not taking any pregnant patients, it doesn't matter if you're current." WHAT?! I told her that Dr. Keegan wants me to be under someone's care, and she said there was nothing she could do. She said "Try calling back in December, we might be accepting patients then." I cannot believe this, I would not recommend this office to anyone. I understand not taking new patients, but cutting off current patients?! I have never heard of such a thing. Thank you for the added stress.
