This review is solely for the experience with scheduling service and not for the quality of the work. I called Pierce County Handyman for reinstalling 4 outside corner sections of baseboard and adjusting 2 transition pieces that had been installed improperly previously. They scheduled me for a visit about a week later so an estimate could be provided. Then a day before the scheduled visit, they asked to reschedule it due to a personal reason. I agreed to reschedule. They showed up on the second appointment and provided me with a service quote and a proposed service date. I got back to them 2 days later confirming the service and was informed the previously proposed date was no longer available. They then proposed a new date in the morning which I agreed to it. 1 day before their schedule service date, they call asking to reschedule from morning to afternoon, which I also agreed to. Then on the date of service, they texted me 2 hours before their scheduled start time to attempt to reschedule for a different date. I let them know that I had made plans for the work to be done that day and that if not possible, then to cancel the whole thing. They weren't able to come out and the service was canceled at my request. My partner and I can't say enough great things about Matt and his work! The experience from his responsiveness when we reached out for a quote through the completion of the work was all excellent. Also, as women, I can't tell you how many times we've both had contractors talk down to us, and that was never the case with Matt. He was always friendly, professional, and respectful. And he even brought treats for our dog, who adores him! We hired Matt to help renovate part of our detached garage into a home gym. When he initially came out to see the space so he could give an accurate quote, he took about an hour so that we could talk through ideas and what he thought was feasible. His quote for the work was incredibly reasonable, and the quality of the work is stellar. He also kept the space clean as he worked, so we never needed to worry about there being random screws or sharp objects left around that we or our dog might step on. He removed a garage door, partially reframed one of the garage walls that was out of whack, installed several windows and a new door (and even picked them all up from Lowe's so that we didn't have to figure out how to fit them into our car!), and replaced the insulation in the space as needed. We opted to paint the space and install the vinyl plank flooring ourselves, but once we finished that up, Matt returned to install all of the trim, and even special ordered a piece of flooring for near the door, so that it matched. We have hired five different contractors to work on our house in the 8 years we've lived here. Matt is the only one I would hire again. He gave a fair estimate and pretty much stuck to it (we added some work, so it wasn't a surprise that the final total went up). He did amazing, quality work and our space is so much more livable. He raised some flooring in a laundry room, added an office and window and door, and added a paver patio to our backyard. He is also a friendly, personable guy so he was great to work with and we felt comfortable with him in our house for several weeks. Matt was only one of two window guys (and I got quotes from a handful of available window guys on Yelp) who would install Home Depot in-stock window instead of more expensive custom windows. It turned out my existing opening was a little shorter than originally estimated and he quickly gave me an update and option for removing bottom 2x4 and replacing with 1x4 and reassured me it would not impact the load bearing since the header was not moved. We updated price quote and he finished removing and installing 2 windows in 1 day. He gave a fair quote (within range of other window installers but not the highest or the lowest, but in the lower of the range), had good availability within 2 weeks, communicated well and as needed through the job, was on time, cleaned up after himself, let me know when he was on way to the jobsite, was polite, forthright, let me know it would be cheaper to just replace the broken glass panes instead of the whole windows, and he takes credit cards! I chose to replace old aluminum windows with 3 broken panes with new vinyl windows as they would have cost $600 just to replace the panes. I would recommend Matt and use his company's services again. A few things that were not in the quote were painting any touch up around the window after window replacement and rehanging the blinds after the installation was complete (he removed them to replace the windows), and of course those weren't done. I didn't remember to ask him to include those in the job quote and he didn't mention it could be a part of the quote so it wasn't. I suppose he could mention those types of services to future customers if he wants to upsell a job and for those who can't do those types of things themselves. Areas of improvement in the future (which I didn't ask him for and now I'm kicking myself for not asking) is to take a few pictures of the job as he progressed, especially the change order area so I could see and understand the change order better. However those don't impact how well he completed the job and is just a nice to have for future customers. read more

I ordered a new washer and dryer but when they were delivered, there wasn't enough wiggle room to get the dryer through the bathroom door- I was so annoyed and disappointed! Matt was able to remove the doorframe, install the new dryer, and installed a new door and doorframe.
