Received a recall notice from Ford concerning our 2015 Ford Focus. Since we live in Richland I called Corwin Ford in Pasco. No answer when called their service department. Left a message. Never received a call back. This has happened over and over again whenever we have dealt with Corwin concerning service on our vehicle. This time I did not call them over and over to get a person to talk to on the phone. I decided to try Pierre Ford in Prosser. Call was answered immediately. They offered to service the car in two days (Corwin typically would schedule weeks to months out). I had previous commitments so we scheduled for the following week. Arrived in Prosser, dropped off vehicle, recall service was performed in two hours. EVERYONE at this dealership was courteous, helpful and gave the impression they cared about my convenience. The half-hour drive to Prosser was well worth the effort to deal with Pierre Ford, rather than the ten minute drive to Corwin Ford to put up with their cavalier attitude. read more

I originally purcha a 23 ford maverick xlt. it finally arrived at the Portland rail yard where for some reason they stole the hybrid battery out of it. Then they ordered a 24 that cost an extra 3 k because they charged extra for the hybrid and the paint. Then after the 24 arrived, the 23 somehow showed up. But they sold that out from under me to someone else. I can't say enough bad about any Pierre dealer. I finally went back to Prosser after two years and it was no longer a Pierre dealer. People actually quit because they were treated so bad, so it was just the customers. DO YOURSELVES A BIG FAVOR BY not do business with ANY Pierre dealer. read more

My 19 yr old daughter bought a used car last year from this dealership and it was pretty much a lemon! If it was even inspected, which I doubt, then a lot of work was either missed or ignored! We've had to put in a new turbo system, brakes, the passenger side mirror was loose and just finally fell out so that needs to be replaced...not to mention the sensors are acting up. It has cost a fortune to fix, even with the so-called extended warranty that she purchased! They keep referring her to Valley Ford in Yakima, and they are completely rude to her there. Very frustrating, especially with her being a full-time student so she needs a dependable car and sadly having to make payments on a piece of you know what! I definitely don't recommend any Ford Dealerships within a 50 mile radius. Oh, and I can say so much more...:( read more

Service department flat out lied. We scheduled an appointment to have our Mustang Mach E updated to receive its self driving capabilities. Showed up at the appointment, and not only did they say we didn't have an appointment, they flat out informed us "Ford said to wait a couple months because they rushed the service bulletin." The service advisor went on to describe a recent upgrade "they attempted" that required the panels in the trunk to be removed. Now, mind you, the bulletin doesn't require this, so I'm not sure where they got that. When I challenged them on this, and even showed them the actual bulletin, they lied again; "That is updated and we've been advised not to do it by Ford corporate." Angry, I left the dealer and immediately emailed Mike Levine, Director of Ford Communications. And guess what? He confirmed they were wrong. Thankfully I've been put in touch with a more competent dealer. What's sad is we bought the mustang here. But, buyer beware, you WILL be charged an outrageous Dealer Markup Fee. Hopefully they put that money to updating their facilities, too. We love the car, and don't regret getting it. But do regret dealing with Tom Denchel. read more

Thank you Olivia Guthrie, had you not been able to locate my "special order" Explorer, I'd given the Sales Department and Administration 1 star... there is no way to give 0 stars. The Sales manager called to let me know that my vehicle had arrived in Spokane, was loaded and on route from Spokane, it would be in Prosser January 5-7, 2023. Oops, it didn't arrive. I called them, "It would be January 9-11". Nope!! I called them, "It would be here 16-18." Nope. You see the pattern here? They always had an excuse and it would be here the next week. Fast forward to March still no vehicle!! I had spoken to salesman, sales manager, finance manager. The Operation Manager (Scott Guthrie) never returned my call. I called again asking to speak to someone that could help me. Since no one in the Sales department could and the Management Department didn't return calls. The receptionist had Olivia Guthrie return my call. (Thank you) After several weeks of follow through, and communication updates with me, Olivia was able to trace my Ford Explorer to a Spokane Lincoln Dealership. I'm not sure if the Sales Management team ever tried to locate it. First date of delivery, January 5th. Date I was able to pick up my vehicle May 3rd. Our salesman Todd was quite patient with me as I researched the vehicles and looked at every other dealership in the area. We eventually found the Ford Escape we wanted online at their Hermiston store. Since we live in Prosser, they brought it here for us to test drive and it was exactly what we wanted. Between Todd and Brandon, they gave us a very fair trade in value and we were out the door with a full tank of gas and clean car on short order. Very smooth transaction. Purchased a 2017 Ford Escape in Dec 2022 - thankfully we bought an extended warranty. After the 1st oil change (by Corwin) - the motor had no compression and it would be 3 months before it they could get it into the shop to even look at it. I took it to Tom Denchel to get fixed and they put in a new motor under warranty. When I picked up the car and got it home it was missing bolts on the fender, the water reservoir was not intact and other issues. 2 weeks later my car stopped moving and the would pop out of gear. I had it towed to a local tranny shop and they found several items not connected and missing bolts. 2 weeks at Denchel it was finally fixed. Now not even 3 months later the same thing happened again (the tranny shop advised me that it may happen due to the damage cause the 1st time) and now I am being faced with a new front axle, and transmission. Then to find out they pried the other axle out when they put the motor in and it wasn't even safe. Now my extended warranty company service says they won't pay due to the repair costs being more than the car was bought for. I've just barely had the car for a year and basically have only driven it 3 months and now it's going to cost me another 4K to get it fixed and the extended warranty is maxed at and I have 4 more years left on my loan. read more

Horrible customer service. So disappointed. I had high hopes they were going to be the car sales company that I would use time and time again. No Way I would now! Initially they were very nice, typical sales tactics. Telling you what you want to hear. After the sale, that stopped. First I did not buy a car from them. The reason why and the reason for the review is the usual salesmen BS games. I inquired about a Ford raptor they had and said I would come up and buy it from CA. They told me the cost of the truck would be 5K over MSRP. I told him I would not pay above the asking internet price as that is what it was advertised for. Also there was no note that there would possibly another charge so technically bait and switch. The salesmen said they had to ask the GM on day 1 then on day 2 said they had to ask the owner. Day 3 the truck sells to a lady for 4K over MSRP. If they were waiting for the lady to come in to sell if over MSRP then just be honest! I purchased a used F-150 from this dealership. 700 miles later I conduct an oil change and find pieces of the engine coming apart in the oil pan. After contacting them, they told me quote "That's the risk you take when you buy a high-mileage vehicle. You drove it home didn't you?" The truck died the same day from engine failure. The truck was presented and sold to me as in good working order. There is no way the mechanic there who did the oil change and servicing of the truck did not notice what was going on. Do not buy from people that take advantage of others and are disreputable salesmen. We bought a used 2017 Ford Flex AWD from Tom Denchel on April 6th. I had made them a offer for the car that was $1000 below what they were asking. They accepted our offer and after driving 100 miles we purchased the car. At the time I noticed that the car needed 2 rear tires. I ask them about replacing them and offered to pay for one. The tires on the front looked brand new. They rejected my offer. The following week I went to see about buying 2 tires for the rear. No one would sell me just 2 tires saying that because it was AWD, all wheel drive, the tires had to match. I even called the Ford dealer locally and they told me the same thing. Tom Denchel being a Ford dealer had to have known this and I would guess that they were the ones who had replaced the front tires with a cheap brand. Thanks to them I spent $800 on tires and found out that the car also had as bent rim for another $320. Was not happy with the outcome of buying from them. Felt that they were dishonest. After having my vehicle for a day, I got a call with a whole laundry list of things wrong, brakes,shocks, and other issues contributing to my "wheel bearing" issue, to the tune of 1300. 900 just to fix my "wheel bearing" issues. *TOM DENCHEL'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS BEEN LETTING ME DRIVE AROUND IN A CAR THAT IS A FIRE HAZARD FOR OVER A YEAR!* Purchased a CERTIFIED PRE OWNED Ford Fusion from them in 2016 and have had issues with it from the get go. I, of course, have been going to Tom Denchel's service department for all issues and concerns, and it has been a nightmare. The most significant issue I have had (along with others) has reached the limit with me today and started over a year ago. I have been complaining about a gas smell every time I drive my car and have expressed this issue to them every time I took my vehicle in. They "fixed it" and I paid 500+ for the repair over a year ago. The gas smell continued and I continued to express this to them. They ended up blaming it on a coolant leak in the engine which they luckily repaired under warranty, by completely replacing the engine. The gas odor continued AND now the "low engine coolant" warning light on my dash kept going off. Took it back in, got it fixed. Gas odor continues, and I have been told they don't smell anything and don't see anything else wrong. I know I'm not going crazy because everyone that would get in my car (boyfriend, family members, friends, etc.) would comment on the fuel smell. Sadly, I continue to drive my car like this because "the tech did not find anything else that would make that issue to occur." This issue went on for over a year. Thursday May 21st I dropped off the car for an OIL CHANGE. Get a call that there is a coolant leak again and have to keep the car for repair, again luckily under warranty. It is now this morning that they call me (5 days later) that the tech got the oil change done, the coolant leak fixed, but he kept getting a fuel smell in the car. (SOUND FAMILIAR?) "There apparently is a fuel leak that needs to be fixed. AND IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE THE CAR LIKE THIS BECAUSE OF A FIRE HAZARD!" (Doug's words at Denchel's exactly.) Twelve months ago I bought a 2007 Ford Focus from Tim Buffington, GM and partner at Tom Denchel Ford. I wasn't really happy with that particular car, which they drove over to Seattle for me that very day from Prosser. I spent literally dozens of hours researching vehicles until I found one that met all of my criteria. It was a used Toyota at Denchel's in Prosser. I drove over there CASH IN HAND, THOROUGHLY RESEARCHED THE VEHICLE, and did the test drive. First off, the cup-holder had been removed. There were at least a dozen cheap, and I do mean cheap (looks like my 7 year old tried to fix it with fingernail polish) repairs to the body, and many water spots on the windshield. Not as great as it was advertised to be on line, of course. So we sit down to do the dance, and after driving the car-which looked WORSE in person (Missing cup holders, scratches in interior leather, stale smoke smell, chips/dings/ a DENT etc.) and the salesman has the audacity to start the quote off HIGHER THAN THE ADVERTISED PRICE! After a quick "truth in advertising lesson, that was quickly remedied. After all was said and done, I ended up paying a few dollars less than the advertised price. I will say here that I HATE car shopping, and it is experiences like this sale that only reinforce that feeling. Crooked, high pressure, and the constantly having to go "run this by my manager" back and forth with them starting way beyond ridiculous. After hours of the back and forth, I finally just gave in...still paid too much, but at least I got out of there before having to spend the night! But wait! The story gets better! The next day, I go to start my car- nothing. Not even a click. The power locks wont even work. The battery is DEAD. There comes another couple hundred dollars to fix that- I blame myself. I should have looked and seen that the battery was 4 years past its date. It had a dead cell-so it had to be replaced. I find it incomprehensible that they would sell me this car, knowing that, because I would almost guarantee that they must have had at least some of the same starting issues while the car was on the lot. But, the piece de resistance comes with the whole issue of the plates. See, they have NO PROBLEM charging you the extra $150 for filing fees and making sure all the paperwork is done correctly and such- and then they don't do it correctly!!! I got a call from one of the managers saying they had received my new plates, and if I drove to get them, they would wash my car and put on the plates and such. While that is nice, it was not worth the 2 hour drive. I was asked if I was really sure that I didn't want to make the drive just tog get my car cleaned and have vacuumed, and they would put the plates on, and it would all be for free. When I still declined I was told "Gosh, I really hope nothing happens to them! They could get lost in the mail, or stolen. It happens all the times. Then coincidentally, the day that my temporary tabs expired, and no new plates were in the mail, I called Tom Denchel Ford and demanded to speak to an manager. I explained to him my situation. I have two young kids, who are sickly, and I didn't really want to drive all the way to Prosser. I then mentioned the fact that I found iit HIGHLY suspicious that the salesman would make a comment about my plates getting stolen, and then they never show up. Well, the manager did some sleuthing, and there they were, sitting right on the sales manager's desk. Not ready to be mailed Not ready for anything! Not only had the sales-manager failed to send me my plates, he failed to even attempt to prevent that from happening to them. As soon as the sales manager saw this, he did do the partial right thing, and did send them over next day mail. Now, if only they would reimburse the "optional" $150 documentation filing fees, since it is obvious that the person I was dealing with was NOT doing his job. In summary, between the shady dealings (high pressure at that), selling faulty equipment, and just flat out not doing the job I would recommend going anywhere but there! **UPDATE** LITERALLY HOURS AFTER POSTING THE INITIAL REVIEW, I WAS CONTACTED BY THE SALES MANAGER, BRANDON JOHNSON. HE WAS VERY SINCERE IN HIS APOLOGIES AND ASSERTIVELY MOVED TO MAKE THE SITUATION CORRECTED AS WELL AS HE COULD. OBVIOUSLY, WE CAN'T GO BACK IN TIME, BUT HE DID PROMISE TO COMPENSATE ME FOR MY TROUBLES. BRANDON AGREED TO REPAY FOR THE ENTIRE COST OF THE BATTERY AND ITS INSTALLATION, AS WELL AS REFUND THE "OPTIONAL" DOCUMENT HANDLING FEE. APPARENTLY, THE PERSON WHO HAD LEFT MY PLATES ON HIS DESK FOR WEEKS RECEIVED A LESSON IN CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND THAT WON'T BE HAPPENING AGAIN. AS FAR AS AFTER THE SALE, I WOULD GIVE BRANDON 5 STARS. HE SINCERELY WANTS THE CUSTOMERS TO LEAVE HAPPY, AND WORKS TO FIND WAYS TO RESOLVE ISSUES TO THE BEST OF HIS ABILITY. ABOVE AND BEYOND ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE SEEN. Tom Denchel ignored my safety concern When I asked how Tom Denchel would address my safety concern, the response was an expectation that I wanted money out of the deal. What I wanted was to know that they had some sense of urgency and responsibility regarding the safety for the vehicles they sell. What I found out is that after the sale, Tom Denchel and company ignored my safety concerns. Here is my story. I went to the Hermiston store where very nice salesman found me a car and got me a deal I could not refuse. Great guy. He quit the week I bought my car. I knew it needed some cleaning and new tires. This car was not detailed, but it seemed to be a good car, and I was buying from Tom Denchel, a Ford dealer with a good reputation. I test drove on Hermiston roads. I couldn't tell if it was the old tires or the road that was jarring. I assumed that if I put on new tires and had a four wheel alignment all would be well. So I drive home to Washington. At 65MPH the car shook hard enough to churn milk into butter. First thing the next day I took the car to our local Toyota dealer. I told them the tires would be replaced but please check out the rest of the car. They said it was a good car but the filters were horribly dirty, and they mentioned several cosmetic things noting that "they sure didn't detail this car". Next stop was Les Schwab. The car had 2 brands and sizes of tire, 215/60R16 and 205/60R16, Michelin and Toyo. One brand/size on each side. I didn't' have much choice but to replace the tires immediately. I will not risk the safety of my family, as Tom Denchel did. When I called Tom Denchel I was asked to call back the next day. Instead of calling I took time off of work to meet with this team to see in person how they would react to a customer with a safety concern. When I arrived at 9am, the Manager, Chris Penny who had asked me to call around 8:30 or 9am was not in, and wouldn't be in until later in the day. I was introduced to another manager, Miguel "Mike". He started by mentioning how much money they lost on my deal. I attempted to convey that I was more interested in voicing a safety concern. He then said, "what do you want". My response was that I wanted to know what they were doing to address this safety concern. I did mention that I had already purchased tires, that the car was not detailed and was shopping for warrantees due to the potential damage to the transmission, drive train and electronics. Tom Denchel walked into the office he was very personable. Tom says he will look into it and they will get back to me. So I go home Monday expecting a call. Late Tuesday I call twice, each time I am told they will call me back. Wednesday I call again and am told that I will get a call in just a couple of minutes. Instead of just telling me they talked to the service department and made sure the checklist included this basic item and the team was made aware of this important safety concern... I get the runaround. The "Customer Service Manager" Amanda calls me back and wants my receipt from Les Schwab. I reinforce my major concern with two emails to her and include the receipt. I receive no calls and no return emails. After finally getting her on the telephone Thursday she tells me she needs a couple of days. It is now more than a week after I brought up my safety concern. Tuesday after I brought up my safety concern and many unanswered calls... I get a call back from Amanda the "Customer Service Manager". She reiterates how great a deal I got and that Tom Denchel would have liked to have seen those tires. She then said that they would reimburse me for the tires if I referred a customer to Tom Denchel. I was flabbergasted. My response was to again ask what they are doing to address my primary concern. She became upset and said that they safety check all of their vehicles. After hearing her tell me in an agitated voice how I was driving a safe car with two sized tires, I decided I had had enough confrontation. read more

I was and am very satisfied with Tom Denchel Ford. I live in Kirkland and purchased a 2011 F-150 FX4 from Mike Wheeler and Tim Buffington. After providing details on what vehicle I wanted, Mr. Wheeler brought an F-150 STX (2013) that I demo'd. I decided to wait and save for an FX4 (2011) which I purchased over 6 months later. I did not feel pressure and the transaction with my trade in was very easy. The truck was brought to me in Bellevue and they were very flexible with my timeline. I feel I got a fair deal and they gave me more than other dealers offered for my 2009 Honda Accord. I purchased a used car in July 2017. The sales staff was fine and the car is OK for the mileage. What I am writing to complain about is the we paid cash for the car and the dealer still ran a hard inquiry against my credit. This had a negative impact on my credit score. I wonder if someone made money based upon the inquiry. I will contacting the manager to complain. DO NOT LET THEM RUN AN INQUIRY IF IT IS A CASH TRANSACTION. read more

Buyer Beware! I saw a truck listed on Tom Denchel's Ford website for sale. I don't live local, so I contacted the sales department to get more info. The sales person took additional photos and test drove the truck for me. I was told it was dirty, but otherwise a very good truck. I figured a licensed Ford dealer would be reputable place to do business with and trusted they would have done their due diligence to advertise a quality vehicle for sale. Afterall, they had gone to great lengths to photograph and describe the vehicle and I was advised they'd performed a detail and vehicle service and safety inspection. Based on the information given, I bought the truck sight unseen and had it shipped across country. I immediately found it had foamy oil on the dip stick, The motor had a cracked head...engine coolant was pouring into the cylinder and had turned the oil into a "milkshake" mess. My service records show that Tom Denchel Ford performed an oil change on this truck. It would have been very obvious this had such an issue! It would have been a mess for the technician. How did this truck get posted on the web with such an obvious mechanical problem? Why did they sell it to me? I brought the truck to my local Ford dealer for evaluation and repair. There was over 1" thick layer of scum inside the motor. It was condemned by the technician as unrepairable. It cost $5743.65 to replace the motor. Think twice before you trust these people at Tom Denchel's Ford in Prosser...they didn't hesitate to sell me this piece of junk. Why wouldn't they take advantage of you too? read more

I found a Lincoln advertised on the net. I tried several times to use Denchel's instant chat but no one picked up. I then called the dealership to inquire about the car. The salesman seemed confused and said he would get back to me.... odd since he didn't ask for my phone number. I live 150 miles from this dealership and would like information and some photos before I make the drive. My third attempt I asked for the used car manager. Yes he knew the car I was calling about and as soon as we were off the phone he would email me some photos. He also stated that they were going to only sell better quality vehicle and would wholesale this lincoln and I told him I understood that I would buy as is. I gave him both my email and phone number. Over 24 hours...no contact. If they won't follow through to sell you a car I can only imagine their after sale care. If you choose to go here, be aware. read more

I went to this dealership in august drove 2 hours to find out they didn't have the vehicle as described. They tried to make it right with a more expensive vehicle, I left mad!! Tim Buffington stepped up and claimed to "make things right" only to find out it took repeated trips to get the contract right. Months passed my payments were on time if not early. In january 27 2015 I spoke with Tim and said we were looking at moving to arizona, what needs to happen with the truck? On the back it says I have to stay in the US. Tim mentioned my payment was late (10 day grace period) I said my payment would be on the 3rd, he said ok I will call you on the 3rd. When the 3rd of February came around I didn't hear from Tim, so I used my Visa card to make my monthly payment as promised. The 4th of February my husband and daughter were chased around our small town by a repo tow truck, then he proceeded TO POUND on my door for 1.5 hours til I was able to reach Tim and he said " your payment was late" " and I didn't want the vehicle leaving washington" AND WITH BACK ISSUES AND GETTING OVER SHINGLES MY TRUCK IS GONE... SO IS MY JANUARY PAYMENT TOO!!!! BAD DEALERSHIP!!! DONT BUY HERE OR SHOP HERE!!! read more

While asking for my personal information (name, address, ss, etc...) in order to run a credit check, the sales manager also asked some very suspicious questions...my mother's maiden name, for example. There is really no reason to ask for this type of detail unless this person is involved in identity theft...credit bureaus don't require this info to get a credit score...however with the combination of ss and mother's maiden name, anyone could access your bank account, credit card, etc... I'm also quite unhappy that we agreed on a price for a new car, and then they told me the car had over a thousand demo miles on it. When I complained and told them I wanted a further discount because of the miles, they told me they sold the vehicle to someone else. Two days later, that same vehicle popped back up on Cars.com for sale at the same dealership. I hope someone investigates this place. read more
