I like both Sterling's, Sterlings on the River and Sterlings on Queensgate. However, I enjoy Sterlings on Queensgate much better. Their food and service is very good, the cooks do a great job. I have a veterans group that has breakfast there every other Thursday. The cook gets out 35-40 breakfasts and the waitresses know what everyone wants from memory. What a rip-off! I went to them because my power steering was having sporadic problems. They said they'd do an automatic diagnostic test and see from there. Never did the diagnostic test, couldnt figure out power steering problem, but charged me $302 to top off my oil and tell me there was a leak in it. $236 was for the Labor & $32 for the oil. Very poor service. Wanted also to replace my wipers, transmission fluid, & air filter which I had already done 1000 miles before!!! read more

I was working in the Tri Cities, while here my vehicle started over heating and the engine light was on. I had no idea where to take it except the dealership. They were booked a week out. I stopped in a Napa store and asked the person behind the counter, he recommended Meyers Auto Tech. I also asked a relative in Kennewick and he also recommended Meyers Auto Tech. I brought my car to Meyers Auto Tech on got it in they found the caused repaired it. During this experience Meyers would send me daily updates with photos and cost estimates. The owner even followed me to the airport to return the rental car and gave me a ride back. Meyers Auto Tech goes above and beyond any auto maintenance/repair business I have ever used. They care. I wished I lived in the area so I could use them all the time. I highly recommend Meyers Auto Tech. read more

Edited at the bottom: This garage attempted to rip me off in a major way! Brought my 2017 Suburban to them for repairs due to a faulty lifter. Original quote was for over $6k and the parts were on backorder. I had a decent experience with them last year with my other truck so I waited. I waited for 12 weeks with periodic updates. They did provide a loaner car while I waited. About halfway through this 12 week wait, they highly recommended a full engine swap with the price tag of over $17k. Definitely didn't want to pay for an engine swap, so I continued to wait. With no parts on the horizon and unable to afford a $17k engine swap, I was about to surrender the vehicle and take the hit on my credit. Then, I found my extended warranty info. I began a claim and provided all the necessary info to Myers to begin to repair or swap my engine. Well, it turns out the they were unable to justify any of the repairs that were needed or the amounts at which they quoted them. So, instead of telling me that they just made me keep waiting. Then, I was told to take my rig to another garage in town. I had it towed over there and they got to work on it immediately. Worked with my warranty company for the approval. It took them about a week to verify the correct work needed and get the approval. Once they received the approval, they had my truck back up and running in 2 days. I saw the invoice that was submitted to the warranty company and it came in under $2300. So, not only did Myers give me a grossly inflated quote, they also sandbagged the situation with the parts in the attempts to sell me on a $17k engine swap. I am so disappointed in this company. Shame on you for trying to take advantage of people. I will never do business with them or recommend them again. Edit: On Tuesday (5/30), the owner, Ben, called me and wanted to discuss the above review and my experience. I was unable to take the call at that moment, so he left a message. When I was able to call him back, we had a long chat about everything. To my surprise, he remained very calm through the call and did not exacerbate the situation. He politely listened to my rant about the experience and asked qualifying questions. In his voicemail message, he had said that he wanted to rectify the situation. So, I pressed him hard to refund the diagnostic fees ($500+) that I had paid. He told me that he would have to think about it and discuss with his business partner but that he would get back to me. By that afternoon, he emailed me and agreed to mailing me a check for the full amount. I did receive that check yesterday, 6/3. So, while my direct experience with the service techs regarding my vehicle was atrocious, I do feel that Ben heard me and took appropriate and swift action to make amends. Thank you, Ben for listening to me and doing what was right by a disgruntled customer. What you did for me and my family regarding this situation was huge in my book. read more

Updated: Timing belt job on a Delica is 5.5 hours in the shop book including removal and installation of a radiator. Responding to the owners "very rusty" comments he would not know what rust was if he was looking at it, he could easily see where i ground the frame down to see that the rust is truly not that bad. Also Benjamin is not a very smart person: Its a JDM market vehicle service manuals are all online and had you asked I could have provided the ENTIRE workbook for you. This vehicle was manufactured for Europe, Japan, New Zealand, Australia and Africa. The owner acts that because it's not a USDM vehicle he can not work on it without charging an astronomical $200 an hour.. Hey ben.. the front end of this.. is a Dodge D50 you cannot work on the front end of a mid 80's pickup without charging them $200 an hour? What a joke. They have been importing JDM Market Delicas to Canada for years, so many years there are Delica Dealerships and service centers from Vancouver to Victoria etc. Pre Common Rail diesels are not hard to work on, the timing belt job on this should be $550-$1000. Not over $2000 (yes this was for ball joints and tie rod ends, but each side should take no more than an hour, they wanted $400 for some ball joints and tie rods, I told them to not worry about the rear shocks and that I was only concerned with the one front cracked brake hose, that i can do the rest myself. Valve cover gasket again its two bolts and if you are doing the timing its a fast easy job. - 15-20 mins tops. Most dishonest shop in tri-cities, wanted $200 flat hourly rate to perform labor-related repairs on my vehicle. Not a single shop has $200 an hour rates. This is a ("we do not want your vehicle in our bay") price. This shop has the highest labor rates, of anyplace in tri cities and they WILL do their best to gouge you for every penny you make and what they think they can. EVERY yelp review talking about prices is correct, stay far far away and if you think this place is giving you a good deal you should take it elsewhere and see just how good a deal you can get. Should be renamed to Meyers Rip Off Automotive, where we double charge standard rates.. Shop Rate should be $75 an hour Diesel $100 to $150 TOPS (the best diesel shop in Seattle charges 150 for example, Meyers is nowhere near the best diesel shop in tri cities) To further update, had their mechanic looked at my timing belt he would have realized it was just fine. This Delica had its Timing Belt, Water pump, Injection Pump, and Turbo all serviced at 205KM it now has 226K I just found this out yesterday, an honest shop would have told me my belts were fine. read more

I took my Kia Soul in because it was running rough and not starting well. I asked them to look into that and do some other standard maintenance while they were in there. They did a simple computer diagnostic on it and identified that the camshaft sensor needed to be replaced. All in, $1600. When I picked it up it still didn't start well. It got progressively worse over the next 2 weeks until it was near undrivable. I took it back in -- I complained that they didn't fix the original problem (I doubt they even tested it after replacing the sensor). They said they couldn't locate the problem, but was probably a timing issue, proceeded to tear the engine apart, another $2700 (+ $180 diagnostic fee that after a fight with the manager I was able to get reversed). Started fine the first time, but guess what, same problem the next time I started the car. I opened up the engine compartment to take a look and they had forgotten to put back on the plastic cowling that covers the engine so I had to make another trip to go pick that up (with a mistake that blatant they should have delivered it to me). I wasn't in the mood to fork over another $1000-$3000 because they had still failed to diagnose the problem. I did a quick internet search and there were dozens of videos about the crankshaft sensor causing the problem, so I ordered one from RockAuto ($60) and installed it in under an hour myself. Problem solved. Very disappointing that professional mechanics only care about charging labor hours and relying on computer diagnostic codes instead of listening to their customer and solving the problem. Our experience with Meyers was a strange one. Upon first meeting them, they seemed really nice and professional. The shocks on my Mazda were shot. They quoted the repair for above the value of my car. This experience was okay, besides being gouged for the service. And then, our second visit with them: my Mazda battery was dead. We had the tow truck take our car to Meyers in good faith that they would make an honest recommendation. Once our car got there, they put in a "new" battery and slapped us with a $400 bill. This would have been fine if they had actually fixed the problem. Instead, the car started dying every time it idled for 30 seconds or more. We took it back and they said "Your car just needs to learn how to idle, it will be fine in a week." Guess what? It wasn't. We took it back a third time. This time (with attitude and push back) they said they had sold us a "bad battery" and replaced it. As soon as we left, it started dying again. At this point, we are going to Tricity Battery to get the Mazda fix. Between their ridiculous prices, lack of ownership, and bad advice; it's not even worth it. read more

I was hesitant about this place since I first noticed it's existence, and the Christian fish they display on their logo as if to say "trust us, we won't take advantage of you because we are good religious people." Just a red flag to me for some reason.... Well, despite my gut instincts, I once went to them for a window repair because they were nearby and I needed it fixed as quickly as possible. An hour after leaving my car with them, they called and stated that they had checked out my car and found other issues that needed to be fixed. I asked how much after listening to the long list....$2000. $2000!?!?! I said just fix the window and forget about the other stuff.... So I asked around for some auto mechanic recommendations, and was referred to Cronk's Automotive in Richland numerous times. I called Cronk's, asked if they'd check out my car to see if these issue's were legit. 3 hours later, Cronk's called me and said everything looked great, except for a small leak in the oil pan, which could go unfixed for probably another few months. I picked up my car later and wasn't charged a thing. And those "issues" that my car supposedly had never showed themselves. Maybe it's the old "take advantage of a woman cause she doesn't know anything about cars" scheme. I don't know. But I wouldn't recommend Meyer's Auto Tech. Don't waste time and money.... just go see Cronk. read more

It's unfortunate that all the other reviews are correct. I really liked these guys, but man, their prices were astronomical. I just moved to town and my 01 Chevy 3/4 ton started making funny noises. Had it checked out and turns out it was the transfer case. Meyers found a rebuilt one for me and said it would be $4300 start to finish. I called the local GM dealer to compare, figuring the dealer would be much more since it's an actual dealer. They found a GM rebuilt and certified case from another local dealer and said it would be $2100. I couldn't believe it. Of course I took it there and it was done in 2 days. Meyers couldn't even have had the case in town by then. I really like to support locally owned businesses, but in this case, there's no way I'll ever go back to Meyers. read more

Both times I've had my car serviced at Meyer's the staff was patient, kind and knowledgeable. They walked me through every step of the process and provided me a loaner car free of charge. They did not fix either of the problems I took my car in for. However, as always they did find a long list of other things they could fix. My car vibrates so back when cold it will vibrate my foot off the brake pad. But the mechanic felt that it ran just fine. My oil was low, at first they said they changed the oil, when I asked why, oil changed 600 miles ago, then the story changed and they said they did not change the oil. I asked if they could top it off for me. Yes, they would, they did not, when I got home it was so low I didn't dare drive it back to town to get oil. I knew the original owner of this company and I am saddened by the group that now owns it, it WAS an amazing company, however now I will not return nor advise any of my friends to go here, they only care about money now. read more

After filing a complain with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), I received a response from Scott Meyers, the owner. Basically what the response included was several instances of calling me "aggressive" and "difficult". Sorry Scott, but if asking to see the cost of the parts that you're pushing me to buy, the labor involved, and the reason for the parts is "difficult", then you're damned right I'm difficult, because I wasn't as vigilant as I should have been, and you and your staff screwed me six ways 'till Sunday because of it. The repairs I had done would have cost $800 from the dealership, but you claim that $1200 is fair because "you have a warranty". Newsflash, everybody has warranties. In the BBB letter, Meyer's Auto Tech basically says (though not in these words) "We don't care what these customers think, because our staff are ASE Certified and we price things however we jolly well feel like it. So, we aren't going to respond to your concerns because we just don't want to." They also lie several times, or exaggerate things. For example "They started a conversation that had to be moved to another room because of its severity". Actually, their employee Bryan asked us to move before we even started talking. These guys hide behind their Christian faith as one of the reasons you should visit them, but the way they lie to and steal from their customers is the farthest thing from Christian I've ever seen. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. PS, when the alignment was done 12 miles after Meyer's finished the work, the shop that did the alignment found that the brake fluid, transmission fluid, and coolant were all "severely low". Congratulations, Meyer's Auto Tech, you don't have a clue how to do an inspection! read more

Meyers Auto Tech severely over charged for vehicle repairs. I own a 2006 F-150 that had a misfire problem. Right off the bat there was a 180$ charge for diagnostics. I learned that the truck needed a spark plug change, and an ignition coil, ok. I later learned that the Ford dealership wanted 500$ for the same repair. I was charged 1200$. That included a fabulous 2 year warranty. I kept my temper down and just ate that ridiculous cost! I will never use Meyers again and will definitely not recommend them to anyone. On top of that they suggested that I get several other repairs that were not necessary, For another 2000$. I am considering registering a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. read more

Got a brake repair quote--outrageous!! Mark up on parts alone was over $100! Got it done right somewhere else for $200 less!!

I own a 2001 Dodge Ram SLT 2500 with a Cummins 5.9l diesel. The oe fuel pump was a transfer pump mounted on the engine. I changed that out twice. When it goes you do not go!! Lithia Dodge changed out the pump (3rd time) to a revised in tank lift pump four years ago and it also died. With the help of Meyers we came up with a model RP-100 Raptor pump which is mounted to the frame (recommended on many Dodge and Cummins websites). Meyers installed the pump and a Glow Soft fuel gauge. The fuel gauge is where the cigarette lighter was. The fuel sender is installed after my filter. The Raptor fuel pump has a lifetime warranty and now with the fuel gauge I can monitor the condition of my filter. Meyers also rebuilt my front end which was in dire need of attention. I had the truck with me for six years in Costa Rica; the roads are so bad there that I needed new tires every year. The front end was so bad I was stopped once when a cop thought I was DUI. Now my Ram steers with one finger instead of two hands with white knuckles. Yes it was expensive BUT repairs to trucks are not cheap AND it will never have to be done again. Like the TV add says; if you are buying a used car let them check it out first. They are not looking for the work; they just want you to have a car in good condition and safe for the roads and like another add says I AM HAPPYIER THAN A WITCH IN A BROOM FACTORY! I have taken a few of my vehicles here and they have always done a good job and they stand behind their work. I took one vehicle in for some transaxle problems. They could not diagnose the problem so they knew when to stop and recommend me to a place that could get the job done. They didn't charge me for this and they even cleaned my MAF which I noticed right away with a little better performance. So last year I took in my f350 with an oil leak. They told me that it was the rear main seal and that they would have to pull the motor to change it. I was quoted over $9000 just for labor. I was charged for the "diagnosis" and I decided to get a second opinion. I took it to a mechanic in Prosser and he found that it was from the top of the motor. He fixed that and several other things for me and the charge was less than 1/4 of the quote from Meyers. Makes me wonder if I got taken when I had them work on my wife's car. read more

I wish I would have read these reviews before taking my car to Meyers. The only positive notes I have for them is that their staff was very friendly and their waiting room very clean. Other than that the experience was not pleasant and overpriced/misquoted. If you want to have a 5 hour overpriced diagnostic and a piece of your car held hostage then I would recommend them. I scheduled a diagnostic check for 9:30 am on Friday. I was told that the diagnostic would be about 100 after I explained that my car was making a funny noise and it looked like a pulley was loose where belt ran through. I dropped my car off about 9:10am. I was told if the repairs were any more than $100 I would receive a phone call. I did not receive a call until 2:30pm with a quote of over $1200 and was told it wasn't a pulley but the alternator needed to be replaced they also "recommended" windshield wipers at $50, transmission fluid, oil change, sparkplugs and one or two more things. On top of this they told me repairs could not be made until Monday because they would have to order the alternator. I told them that I would need my car over the weekend as I had to work and that I was not off again until Wednesday. They were pretty insistent that I bring it in Monday (it has been making the funny noise since November and I had no other problems it ran fine over the last 3 months I just finally had the time to make an appointment to get it checked out.) Bryan at Meyers told "ok I'll have them get it back together for you and let them know you'll take it as is until Monday". One would assume that with just having a diagnostic you would receive your car back in the same condition as you dropped it off (after 5 hours of diagnosing ??) When I went in to pay for the diagnostic and pick up my car Bryan insisted that I come in on Monday when I "decided" what to do. My dad had come down to look over the pricing and asked why they had sparkplugs and if they sparkplugs looked bad. Bryan said they had not pulled one out but that it was recommended to replace according to mileage. My dad also questioned the fluid and said that if it's the alternator then that's all they should be repairing. Bryans comment was "yea if it was me, ya know I wouldn't but it's recommended by the manufacturer at the mileage it's at" my instant thought was 'woah, if it was you and you wouldn't then why are you trying to sell me all this add on stuff!' At this point I just wanted my car back and my dad said his friend would get a quote from another auto repair shop. My dad left the building and I pulled out my debit card. Bryan would not take the payment for the diagnostic which he said was 74.37 and told me to just give him a call on Monday when I decided what I wanted to do. He hesitated on taking a white square chip off my key ring and then as he was handing it to me told me that they still had my skid plate because it was a piece that was a pain to get off. Confused and disappointed at this point I left. In retrospect Meyers held a piece of my car hostage to ensure that I would indeed return on Monday. As I had to work I called on Monday and informed them that my dad would be in to settle my diagnostic bill and pick up my skid plate. I had given him $100 in cash and told him that Bryan said the bill was 73 or 74 and with tax it shouldn't be over 100. When my dad went in the bill was 102.43 He told them all he had was 100 and they had tacked on ominous "supply fees". Or maybe that was the fee for holding my skid plate hostage? Who knows...bad business practice and customer service if you ask me. They adjusted the bill to $100 and here's another surprise. On the receipt I received from my dad it shows Total: 100 Paid: 0 Due: 100.00. So the receipt fails to show that the bill was paid. I have left them a voicemail and will hopefully receive a phone call in return. Overall I do not recommend them or their business practice. Like I said tho their staff is friendly and waiting room inviting. But do your research. read more

Do. Not. Go. To. This place!!!!! We took our Yukon to this place because it seemed like a Christian (honest) place and was convenient. We told them we need the brakes replaced and would they just perform a general tune up. They charged us 3200 and we were blown away but figured we were good to go for awhile. Unfortunately when we got home we noticed a leak in the back. After a couple of days the "service suspension" light came on . We took it back and they charged us $180 to look into the problem they most likely caused. (Yukon ran great before taking to them) They told us it would cost $1800 to fix. We said no that we would come pick it up. After driving for a few days, the car started to idle so low that it would almost stall out. So we took it to mccurly Chevrolet. They charged us NOTHING to tell us that the spark plugs were loose . We are currently on a road trip with our Yukon and cannot believe that our brakes are going out again. (It's only been 6 mos. and we only drive our Yukon for road trips). The most disappointing thing to me is that this company uses scripture and Christian symbols to lure people into thinking they are safe and honest. Could not be further from the truth! read more

Update on this previous review, would like to thank everyone at Meyers for the outstanding advice and service and quality of work. My 2002 Dodge 3500 dually has had no problems on the trip out east. This truck after the team at Meyers did the modifications is incredible. Pulling 25000lbs for 1800 miles up 6% grades at 65 and 70 no problems. The ATS Transmission is so strong. By the way that's 6% in overdrive.!! On the other side of that 6% grade the Pac Brake works awesome along with the EBC Brakes. Can't wait to let you guys put the new updated turbo from cummins in, plus the new 75 horse power injectors also. The cooling system works awesome never anything over 204 degrees. Thanks again for helping me with building this incredible tow rig can't imagine what it will be like in the spring when you get your hands on it again. The people working were very friendly and knowledgeable. The moment I found out that to change spark plugs, plug wires, and a ignition coil was going to cost $850.00 I felt cheated. I paid the $240.00 fee to have the car diagnosed and left. I bought the parts needed as well as a oil filter and new oil for $100.00 at O'reilly's. Installed everything and changed the oil in less than 2 hours. I hope that this quote given to me was a mistake and not an attempt to rip me off. I will not return to this auto shop and will tell anyone I see that needs car work done to stay away. read more
