So, I was a little concerned after reading some of the reviews on here, but I went anyway. It's an "old school" doctor's office. Smallish waiting room, a fair amount of people waiting, in need of an update, but nothing "wrong". I waited about 45 minutes to get my blood work drawn and BP/weight taken (which I was not expecting or aware of), I went back to the waiting room for another 30 minutes or so (rooms were full), then got taken back to see the MD. Had an EKG done (due to how I answered the new patient questionnaire, I think) and saw Dr. Pierson about 2 minutes after that was done. He took my history, did his exam, referred me to another doctor based on my symptoms, and that was that. The only thing I do not like is that I was not handed a referral or given a name. They submit to my insurance, then once approved, it gets mailed to me, My PPO doesn't work like that, so I'm assuming there's just too much going on in the office. He is definitely busy, but I didn't experience any of the issues others have commented on (rudeness, etc.). Yes, it's a "long" wait, but that's how most GP offices are, it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. And now that you're aware of it, you can bring your games/phone/magazines/etc. to occupy your time. It would seem a lot of people go here for work-related things (employment, disability, etc.), just based on the paperwork. I thought Dr. Pierson had great bed side manner, was knowledgeable, and knew when to refer someone out to a specialist. I appreciate his time and will see him again when I need to. read more

Horrible worst clink I've ever sent to staff sucks! You think you'd save your own clinic by hiring staff that actually calls you back. I left 4 or 5 messages today for this office and not 1 call back. I've tried making an appointment since April no one ever calls back. Who cares right? They get paid either way ! Had an appointment finally on 7/19 and ever since then I've been trying to get a hold of someone in the office. I would give this place ZERO stars if I could. This is the second time I came here. This time I am here for pre operation approval. I have been here for over 2 hours. All they have done is take my blood pressure and my weight. But before that I was sitting here for an hour before they told me that they do t accept my PPO. HUH?! One of the worst visits I've ever had to a doctor. Not only did I wait 2 1/2 hours after my appointment time before I was even seen, I didn't even get the doctor but the nurse practitioner instead who spend about 1/3 of the time chatting to a friend on a cell phone. I've been waiting on them for a referral letter for a pretty major issue, going on two weeks now. Been unable to reach anyone there to help me. Keep getting the answering machine and no calls back. There is no parking. None. And the area is terrible when it comes to availability. I had to move my car three times during the visit. Avoid this place like the plague. AVOID THIS DOCTOR'S OFFICE AT ALL COST!!!!!!!! I actually started a YELP account today just because I needed to write this review: I have NEVER encountered a more unprofessional, less punctual, more difficult staff/ office in my entire life. They are always very punctual in taking my co-pay money, only to make me wait an hour + after my appointment time; I should note that there is rarely any one else in the waiting room. The fact that they only see people with my insurance (Anthem Blue Cross) once a week and are closed on Fridays is the least of my dissatisfaction. Dr. Pierson himself is a kind, efficient and personable doctor. But every other doctor and certainly assistant or technician I've encountered has been atrocious. My last visit was two weeks ago: again I waited for almost an hour to see Dr. Chodhury only to have him rush out after TWO minutes. He never addressed the reason for my visit, persistent throat/ vocal pain. He took his time filling out my standing prescription, but filled it out for an incorrect, greatly reduced dosage. This doctor's office has never called in a refill on time: it has, in fact, taken multiple calls from me, multiple calls from my pharmacy (Target Pharmacy) and multiple faxes from them to get a prescription. When a busy pharm tech at Target remembers a doctor's office by name AND how horrible it is AND recommends you get a new doctor, there is a serious problem. In this case, the prescription is for my depression so it's more than a little urgent for me to get it. Two weeks later, four phone calls from me later, two voicemails from me, three calls from target and four faxes from Target, I have still not gotten a return call or an updated prescription. read more

Dr Pierson and his staff were extremely professional, courteous and went above and beyond the call of duty. I had an urgent matter and had to see him same day. The staff got me an appointment within 3 hours of my call and Dr Pierson got my diagnosis and prescription with expedience. They accepted my PPO insurance and saw they also accept HMO's, but I'm not sure with who. It looked like they had resources around to point you to the right place for help. I am very happy with my visit and fully anticipate a long relationship with Dr Pierson and my doctor! read more

Not sure why there are a lot of 1 stars. Is this the first time any of you have been to doctor's offices? Listen, the problem is the general healthcare system. You can thank the Republicans for backing the current broken system; and thank the Democrats for approving legislature that just made it more complicated and gave it a controversial name. The people here are great. The receptionists, nurses, and physician's assistants have always been friendly and helpful. I do notice that his general clientele never look happy or pleasant when I walk in. Makes sense...it's not often someone goes to a doctor because they have good news to tell them. Only reason I'm subtracting a star is because you have to pay for parking, and it's hefty at $14. Parking on the street isn't a good idea because you will be waiting a while to see him (again it's our healthcare system at fault). Personally I don't mind going here at all. I do what regular people do, take a day off of work, bring something to read and be patient. read more

I'd like to say that I was feeling sick a couple of weeks ago ,I tried to make an appointment with the doctor I was assigned by my insurance company they told me I could be seen in a month?? So I decided to call Dr. Piersen's office on crenshaw, they schedule me for the next day, I felt relieved. They were very professional the minute I got there. I am a new patient and was able to make an appointment for the following week which i thought was great oppose to every other busy office during this time. the staff is usually busy on the line and i need to email/call a few times but they are helpful and do still get back to you pretty quick. Do not go here. Have spent numerous attempts to try speaking to the office after my initial visit, and have been placed on hold forever (well, after a half-hour each time, I eventually gave up). It is not possible to contact Lashaya, or whatever the hell her name is (she handles authorizations, apparently). Her indifference is obvious from her tone (seriously, check it out; call the office and listen to her voicemail!; btw, it is not possible to speak with her directly, you will always get her voice mail. Dr. Pierson's office staff were extremely nice and very sensitive to my health. I was sick and they were able to see me the same day. They got me in and got me out in a timely matter. They checked my vitals, took blood and made sure that my cold was just nothing more than a cold. They wrote me a prescription for antibiotics and I was good to go. Thank you Dr. Pierson. read more

Can't imagine a worse doctor experience. Staff is a bunch of lazy incompetent women with attitudes that just scare you from speaking. Waited 3 hours to see the doctor to get specialist referrals. Never saw the doctor. Met with a nurse. They mailed me referrals and I found out ONE by ONE, after showing up to the specialist, that the referrals weren't covered by my insurance. I have called Dr Pierson's referrals line multiple times. Either no one answers or Pamela does, with a hostile attitude, says she's gonna send new referrals & never does. I'm completely stonewalled from care. In 4 months have not been able to see a single doctor. I'm sitting here trying to find an email contact for Dr Pierson to get around the front desk and tell him to fire people asap. Oh I'm also changing my primary care doctor immediately. I have something positive to write regarding Dr. Pierson's staff. They were very nice and understandable especially April C. April was very professional and understanding about my situation. I know she must have a tremendous amount of work to do but she was never too busy to address my concerns. I can see April C. getting promoted because she deserves it. Terrible experience. Waited over 2 hours for a physical examination. Dr. Pierson was not there so my physical was conducted by an the physician's assistant. Afterwards, I was told by the assistant that I would receive my blood results in a week over the phone. I never received a call and had to follow up with them many times. It's been almost 2 months now since my visit and I have yet to hear back. Nursing staff is extremely disorganized and unprofessional, especially over the phone. I made an appointment with Doctor Pierson at 10am. After waiting an hour at 11am in a packed waiting room I asked the receptionist when I will be able to see Dr. Pierson. She told me doctor Pierson wasn't even in the building and that one of his assistants was going to see me, but she didn't have any idea when I would see a doctor. I waited another 15 minutes and left because I had to go back to work. This organization is incredibly disrespectful to people and I am shocked that my insurance provider would recommend absentee Doctor Pierson and his Allied Health Solutions. read more
