So I am not local to Dothan, but I did use Yelp to assist in picking something out for lunch close to where I was visiting. From the outside, the restaurant looks run down but I was optimistic because most local food restaurants look like such. The outside was to be expected. We got a regular pork salad and pork nachos to go. This was all okay BBQ. I was a little disappointed because this restaurant was ranked on places to go on Yelp. The salad was store bought shredded iceberg lettuce, over pulled pork, shredded cheddar cheese and canned relish. There was nothing special. The pork was okay and the BBQ sweet sauce was probably the best thing about the meal. My boyfriend got the nachos and was equally disappointed because the nacho chips were those store bought football game nachos and cheese. The nachos came with pork and jalapeños. Pig-Out sits on Hwy 431 near Northview High School in what was an old gas station. I don't know how long Pig-out has been there but I know it has been a while. But don't let the old gas station appearance scare you. The inside is up to date, clean, and most importantly, serves up some good BBQ. When I approached the counter, the gentleman first thing told me..."Roll Damn Tide!" That's it...this review is done with an automatic 5 star haha. Anyway, he offered outstanding customer service not just for his greeting, but for the fact that he said if I didn't like the slaw, he would give me another side. Before I left the counter, he was ready to hand my plate over to me. My entree was the pork plate with potato salad and slaw. The pork was chopped and seasoned. The seasoning was strong enough to add to the taste of the pork but not overpowering. The pork mixed extremely well with all the sauces. (My report on sauces coming up shortly). The potato salad was phenomenal. It was creamy and chilled. I think it was made with miracle whip, not mayo. Red potatoes were used in this potato salad. Most red potato salads I have had are really chunky. This one was not. The pork was good but the potato salad was on another level. Before I picked the slaw, I asked my Roll Tide buddy if the slaw was creamy or crunchy. I need a better question to ask about slaw. My new buddy said it was creamy and it was one of the most crunchy slaws I have had! Definitely a vinegar on this slaw and not some mayo concoction. But the Carolina vinegar BBQ sauce went really well with the slaw. Speaking of BBQ sauce, there are 5 at Pig-out. The Carolina Vinegar one is named after Don, who may be the owner??? Anyway, I thought it was the best sauce with its zing. There is a very mild heat to it and besides the slaw, the chopped pork soaks it up. The 2nd sauce was a Mustard base and I didn't like it. Way too much runny mustard for me and not enough BBQ mustard flavor. It was missing something that bridges mustard to BBQ sauce. The other 3 sauces were a very similar tomato-base. The red sauce was tangy and like a smoky ketchup. The sweet is like the red sauce except sweeter. The hot is like the red sauce except with a little kick. I had a hard time distinguishing between them. The hot or sweet did not put much separation between the red and them. My brother had the chicken plate with fries and slaw. He thought the chicken was close to a rotisserie type. The fries were crinkle cut but had a seasoning to them that my brother liked. My sweet tea was refreshingly sweet! My pork plate was $9.95, a fair price for the amount of food I received. I enjoyed Pig-out and will be back to try the ribs. The pork was really good but the potato salad was the star. The sauces could be better in my opinion. Pig-out is a solid 4 star for me. read more

The food was very good! I ordered the pulled pork sandwich... the pork just melted in your mouth and the bun was so soft. The French fries were fantastic! You didn't need ketchup or any dipping sauce with it. The seasoning on them were tremendous, and it had pickle flavor like there was dill on the fries. So good. The sweet tea was okay... you expect to have sweet, sweet tea at a BBQ joint, but it was very mellow on the sweetness scale. I wasn't too fond of the fact that only the drive thru was open, but other than that it is great place to eat. The staff was pleasant, and from the outside you can tell it is an old hole-in-the-wall. Stopped on our way through Dothan headed home from the beach, and the pulled pork sandwich and fries were delicious . Food was obviously fresh...the fries were hit and well seasoned; the bun was soft, the pork was well smoked, and the BBQ sauce was excellent (and they gave extra sauce without asking!). Ate there twice this week and all I can say is, damn. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and seasoned perfectly. The chicken was top notch as well. I like the fact that they don't put the sauce right on the meats so as to cover up the flavor. In my opinion, sauce should enhance the flavor of the meat and not cover it up. A couple of other bbq places in the area cover their meats in sauce but not these guys. I tried a little of each sauce but ended up eating the meats without them. Seriously good barbecue with friendly folks. We stopped here on our way to Florida and we were glad we did! I had the regular pork sandwich with Brunswick stew. They have a ton of sauces to choose from, but honestly the pork is good on its own. This is a hole in the wall place with styrofoam plates and plastic forks. Stopped here on our drive down to Florida. Small little roadside BBQ joint that used to be a gas station. Don't be fooled by the outside simplicity though. This place is awesome! The ribs are smoked to perfection. 5 different sauce options too. I like the spicy BBQ and the yellow momma. Also got a half chicken which was super tender and juicy with crispy skin. Stop by here on our drive back home from the beach! Located in a lot that looks like an old gas station. We went thru the drive through. They have plenty of menu items to choose from. We ordered a pork platter with potato salad and Brunswick stew. A pulled pork sandwich and 3 orders of their wing combo (came with one side and a drink). The total cost for everything was a little over $42. The pulled pork was good, not the best I've had but it was pretty good. The chicken wings were huge! It's a whole wing! It's smoked and probably fried after as the skin were crispy. Very good. Their sides were good especially the baked beans and potato salads. The combo came with a drink and their lemonade was good as well. Next time, we'll have to try the ribs after reading some of their other reviews. We parked in their parking lot and ate but they also have a seating area inside. read more
